Dec 4, 2023To sum it up, Flashback 2 was worth a playthrough, and as a fan of the original, I had fun with it. It’s probably the easiest Platinum you can get, too. But the experience is tainted by lots of technical bugs and very linear, flat gameplay design. At its launch price of $40, I’m hesitant to recommend it to anyone that isn’t an ardent Flashback fan who might be more forgiving of the flaws. Whether any more patches get released is anyone’s guess, but even if the technical bugs get ironed out, the gameplay is still thin and pretty lackluster.

Nov 21, 2023Flashback 2 is not bad, far from it, but it does not live up to the Flashback legend even if the intention is the same. The feeling of the 90s is there and we have a nice atmosphere, it's often pretty and a lot of good memories come to the surface but the game lacks polish, we have technical problems, game design too and there are a lot of bugs that spoil the overall experience, in addition to a lack of variety in enemies. A game stuck in the 90s which could have been great but which lacks polish.

Nov 20, 2023Flashback 2 shines in its cyberpunk world and holds potential for a worthy sequel, but technical issues, numerous bugs, occasional poor design choices, and overly simplistic mechanics hinder its ability to be as memorable as the original.

Nov 19, 2023A game as legendary as Flashback deserves a better sequel than this one. Yes, it has some good ideas and shows passion for science-fiction, but it delivers a poor technical optimization and a lackluster game design.

Nov 22, 2023Flashback 2 has some nice ideas but bugs, a lack of polish and the clunky design hinder the entire experience. At each step, it feels as if you’re fighting with the game to get a hit of nostalgia. Beneath the wealth of issues, there is something of merit, however, the sheer volume of issues will just frustrate and infuriate.

Jan 16, 2024Too many bugs and overall lack of optimization prevents Flashback 2 from being at least a decent new entry and sequel to such a legendary series. Give the game a chance only if you are a die hard fan and you have the patience to suffer through its multiple issues.
