    Honestly, it is a somewhat innovative game, you cannot say that it is super innovative, but it is trying to bring back the essence of the Fainal Fantasy of yesteryear. However, it does not have that magic formula that caught you with the enveloping story that must have a Final Fantasy another radical change was the battle system, it's very complicated, it looks a lot like forspoken, but IHonestly, it is a somewhat innovative game, you cannot say that it is super innovative, but it is trying to bring back the essence of the Fainal Fantasy of yesteryear.     The story is more mature and human, and seemingly less reliant on the weirdness that has always plagued FF games, which is a relief. The game actually dares to take itself seriously. The combat is spectacular and out of this world, many times more engaging and enjoyable than the traditional turn based combat of the series.     In short, if you lived for FF turn based combat for some reason, you won't probably like this game, as it requires timing, combos, quick thinking, and a small amount of skill. If you are like the rest of the gaming community who prefer more action and actual control of your character, this is an easy buy. I'm glad the series has evolved beyond turn based combat. There's a reason such game structure isn't popular anymore, because it is massively outclassed by the action genre.    … Expand

    Amazing game with amazing story, characters, music, gameplay with epic spectacles boss fights. Although the rpg elements have been toned down quite a bit i feel like everything else with high highs makes up for it. Overall it is fantastic and i love how this game caters to every type of gamers.

    I am a FF fan, played a lot of them, XV was good, but not the masterpiece I was waiting for. Then I played this one, and look, it's epic from the first to the last minute. The battles, when I started I was like "well, it's OK", then I battled the first boss, i just thought "Holy cow, wtf was that", everything it's just epic. Song, scenario, story, actors. This game is almost perfect, I amI am a FF fan, played a lot of them, XV was good, but not the masterpiece I was waiting for.     An absolute masterpiece of a video game. I haven’t felt this kind of awe from a game in YEARS. The combat, boss battles, world and most of all the STORY is absolute insanity, in the best way possible. Game of the year is here.

    After a lot of years waiting for a good final fantasy and this comes to fulfill the space betwen ff12 and now. I really love the dark story and the mature of dialogues.

    Been playing 60hr and i love it.
    Story give me chills and combat are awesome.

    As a huge fan of Final Fantasy games, I gotta say they stepped out of the box in the right direction. The combat is fun and I don't care what anyone says you must perform combos and learn them on the harder difficulty. The cinematic and breathtaking, the characters are amazing, and the story is turning out to be one of my favorites!     Only halfway through so far and it's for sure the best final fantasy game I've ever played. The story so far is amazing, the graphics are amazing, and I think clive is a great protagonist.

    This game is the absolute best game out on PlayStation, it definitely brings you to very much engaging experience, and lastly the rest of the negative reviews are absolutely unwarranted because 80% of them are xboxbots or are people that simply can’t accept how amazing this mainline ff game truly has become.

I’m someone who will scour every new area, all the corners accessible, taking everything in. You can feel the passion put in just simply by playing. It’s been a good chuck of years since I sat down and fully played a FF game, but it immediately brings me back withI’ve lost track at the amount of times my jaws just been open, the moisture all dried up.     Game keeps getting better I'm semi late maybe 25+ in and it's great. Asuras wrath combat combined with game of thrones story is what this feels like. My pick for game of the year

    One of the cons - early game the linear feel to it doesn't feel great but expands and gets much better. That was my biggest gripe a couple hours in.

    Of all the final fantasy games I've ever played I really love that they went more mature with this game! Most final fantasy games are pg and soft but this one as grown into a new type of final fantasy! And I love them all but 16 is amazing the combat is great as well!

    Puntos positivos:
    -Historia con gran epica y muy cuidada, a la vez que unos personajes que se ponen como de lo mejor de la saga incluyendo al protagonista que sin duda es el mejor protagonista que hemos tenido en Final fantasy. -Combate increíble, intuitivo a la vez que profundo y satisfactorio. -Combates    Directamente épico y desgarrador a la vez que esperanzador, así es el viaje de Clive.

    -El rendimiento en su modo de priorizar los dos deja mucho que desear al menos a día de hoy.

    Desde FF X no me divertía tanto con la historia de un FF.
    El combate es muy dinámico y entretenido.
    Espero poder rejugarlo en un nivel con dificultad máxima.
    Por fin me he vuelto a enamorar de la saga.
    Lo estoy disfrutando tanto como disfruté FFIX y FF Tactics de psx cuando niño.
    Aún no lo termino, pero el viaje hasta ahora ha sido maravilloso.

    La démo était déjà magistrale mais que dire du jeu qui nous emporte à travers son histoire dés les premières secondes. Une mise en scène excellente qui en met plein les yeux, un gameplay simple mais efficace font de cet Action RPG un très grand Final Fantasy. Les personnages sont charismatiques et attachants, Clive est très bien écrit. La bande son est superbe.

    What it lacks and what I miss greatly is the lack of RPG elements. I was pretty choked initially but the quality of the other parts made me forget about fishing,card collecting,open world exp grinding, in-depth weapon and armor crafting/upgrading.
    If I want an FF grind. I’ll go back to 14… which I will.

Despues del trabajo que hicieron para convertir a Final Fantasy 14 en el mejor MMORPG de la actualidad, se lucieron ahora trayendonos FFXVI. El gameplay y las mecanicas son lo unico flojo del juego, pero de ahi mas tanto la historia, como el soundtrack y el apartado visual son un 10/10. Esperare a jugarlo tambien en PCNo podia esperar nada menos de Yoshi-P y la Creative Business Unit 3.     I'm not a fan of classic RPG 's or Turn Based combat games. FF XVI brings amazing graphics with action combat mechanics I like. Only this and FF7 Remake made me play a game of the series. Even since the FF XVI demo was released, the experience have been really outstanding. Hoping to see more FF games like this in the future.

    I Played every Final Fantasy mainline, though I miss the classic RPG elements of past games, I still enjoyed this entry. For me, a FF game focuses on story telling, every game has a great an unique story and this entry was no exception. Playing as only Clive in combat was a little disappointing at first, but the absolute polish of the combat makes it feel more like a creative decision.

    The story is very compelling, I won't spoil anything but I am constantly throwing a 'fit' every time I have to step away from the game to be an adult. As of right now, the worst part of my day is going to work and cooking dinner. I have set up my stationary bike in front of the TV simply because I want to learn more, experience more, and participate in this epic adventure even more.

    The graphics are great, the particle effects can get a little overwhelming at times. I found that the use of the timely rings made it much worse since it would automatically use skills and clutter the screen at times I may have wanted to actually try to pay attention to the combat. Once I stopped using it, the issue went away. Not only did I have much more control of the battlefield but it felt less chaotic and the skills were much more enjoyable to look at. The maps are large and fairly dense with monsters and loot, and my goodness are they gorgeous. Everything about this game was just gorgeous until the very end.

    The biggest "Hot Topic" I have seen is whether this game deserves to be called a Final Fantasy title, and if it stays true to its roots. I am confused to why this is even a question to be quite honest. I have the platinum trophy for Final Fantasy 7, 10, 12, 13, 15, and crisis core as well as over 2000 hours in Final Fantasy XIV & Tactics. There is nothing that this game does that would make me believe that it isn't a true and honest final fantasy title, its got the lore, the monsters, the characters, the skills and equipment and all of the small things that are littered in a FF title. As well as mapping out a beautiful tale of the human struggle to balance power and magic within a Empire.

    I have nothing truly negative to say. The only disappointment I have is the lack of replay-ability, but with so much content in the game I don't think that is an issue for most gamers. I've yet to go through my second playthrough to get the platinum trophy, but I will inevitably take my second trip to Valisthea soon.

    What an amazing game. The fluidity of combat, the story, characters, beautiful world, amazing boss fights, and most importantly the gripping story. This game is a breath of fresh air for the franchise.

    Final Fantasy 16 is everything I've ever wanted from a Final Fantast game. The cast of characters is lively and add so much character and life to the world of the game. Another great character is this games version of Cid. In this iteration Cid is an amazing leader and his role as a big brother figure is instrumental the growth of Clive. Them along with standouts of the cast such as Jill, Byron, really crates a tight and emotional narrative. However, what this game transcends at is the combat. Throughout the game you gain abilities from Eikons, and each new ability can completely change the way the player fights. The biggest strength of this is everyone can play a different way. Truly one of the best battles systems we've seen in gaming. However the true peak of the game is it cinematic boss fights. The game opens its early hours with 2 of these fights and they're both immersive and captivating. Each one of these fights is a true spectacle and I cannot help myself from smiling during these encounters. The chorography of these fights is stunning, the music is energetic and encapsulating, the characters personalities shine through, and visually these are the best boss fights I've ever seen. Final Fantasy XVI isn't a return to form, rather it is pushing Final Fantasy to new heights never seen before, all while keeping the grandiose feeling of Final Fantasy alive. Easily m y game of the year, this one of the best gaming experiences I have ever expirenced.… Expand

    Amazing game, one of those that hooks you in with amazing visuals, engaging combat, and an incredible story. - The game strongly reminds me of Tales of Arise, but with Devil May Cry fighting styles. Two games I love, and they took the best parts of them to make a masterpiece. To me it’s a total “Must Buy” game, and one of the best games of 2023

    I'm a massive home theater enthusiast and this game delivers on my system like very few do. Incredibly stunning HDR implementation and absolutely beautiful sound design in 7.1 surround sound. The controller haptics on the Dualsense are implemented in a way that feels like very few games can pull off. Beautiful, stunning graphics, the best soundtrack ever, a most captivating story, great voiceacting, loveable characters, meaningful dialogues and then we get the best Cid ever on top. I would even go so far as to say one of the best NPC ever in a video game.

    The combat system is very action-oriented, but I don't mind since I grew up playing DMC and GOW. Even though the CTB in FF X is my all-time favourite combat system in any FF, that doesn't make the FF XVI system any less awesome and fun to play. Yes, I miss some status ailments for strategic purposes, but it's no deal breaker.

    The story is dark, brutal and surprisingly mature most of the times. As someone playing FF for nearly 30 years, I was rather shocked the moment someones head gets sliced of and someone else gets splattered with blood because of that. But I like it, it's much more realistic that way.

    And I have to compliment Square Enix for including a gay couple. Yes, they didn't need to zoom out when they kiss, but it's a huge step forward for the series as it is. So thank you Square for that.    … Expand

    Simply the greatest FF of the century, a work of art, a story full of emotions, it's impossible to reach the end without getting emotional.
    It's really a linear story, there's not much room for secondary characters, but the story and soundtrack are impeccable.
    Graphics, gameplay, story, soundtrack, immersion... Impeccable.

    It's the first time that I've feel sleepy while I play a Final Fantasy game, and this makes me almost quit this FF16.

There are team mates, but they cannot be controlled, and barely do any damage. The cinematic parts of battles have so many effects that it's hard to tell what's going on.

    It's almost as if Square Enix tried to pull a Nier: Automata and Elden Ring (both very good at being melancholic yet fun at the same time), and forgot what makes an FF game Final Fantasy, or how to make an RPG in the first place.

    I spent 64 hours from start to finish, and pretty much regret from bothering finishing it. Being presented with a New Game+ option at the end was almost an insult.    … Expand

    I have been playing Final Fantasy sense the very first one on the NES and have loved them all except 13. This new installment is hands down the best one I have played. The story is gripping, the combat is fluid and fast paced (or slow and Tactical if you choose the story focused option at the beginning of the game) and the quests are typical of an rpg but funny with its puns and tropes.     Basically, every enemy in the game has a ridiculous overabundance of health, especially the bosses. It doesn't really add to the challenge of the game; it's just there to artificially prolong it.
    The situation is so bad that the button mashing that is required makes my hand physically hurt to the point where I deliberately have to take breaks from playing just to recover from the pain. This is the first game I've played since Track & Field on the NES where this has happened, and that should say something about how awful it is.

    Do yourself a favor and just watch a Let's Play of Final Fantasy XVI instead of playing it yourself.    … Expand

    - IMHO, main story is too long, too many side quests. Structure and content of side quests are simular and repetitive.
    - I like to explore, and game do not encourage you to do so
    - Mob hunting, no direct mark like in sidequests. I think perfect game do not require you to google, this activity require you to google rather often. It's tiresome to run through whole location in search of the monster, especially when you do not have any other incentives to do so.
    - Pathos of NPCs.

    Neutral

    - Story is interesting to follow, but... it has novelty is under the question, main motive of story is somewhat similar to FF7 (doh...). From logical point of view of NPC behaviour and reasoning not everthing is perfect also.
    - Semi-open world. It's hard to build good open world. And you do not need to, to make RPG good.
    - Hero progression and abilities: are simple and straightforward. Many abilities to choose from, but my top was unambiguous.
    - Some characters are charismatic, some are not not: for example, main hero.
    - Soundtrack is... meh

    Overall, game is great and I advice you to try it, it's a new level in terms of spectacular combat and cut-scenes in action RPG.    … Expand

    This game is a serious GOTY contender. The gameplay, visuals and story are outstanding. You really do feel for the main character Clive as you take on an emotional journey. People are comparing the writing to Game of Thrones and I do agree with the statement. Games like this deserve to be in the GOTY running and I’m glad I got to experience this incredible game.

    - Combat, while fun does feel very damage spongey and seems to lack a few things that would turn it into a great combat system, such as heavy-hitting attacks. Combat becomes very button mashy while your abilities cool down.
    - The story, while interesting, does feel very disorienting and it becomes convoluted near the end.
    - One of the weaker main villains in the series that is known for having great villains.

    This was a hard game to review. On the one hand, it has fantastic world-building and a great setup. Great characters, music, and the gameplay, while a tad bit shallow and severely lacking in RPG elements was a good time. The combat can be a bit spongey, but I did enjoy it regardless. The story, while starting off extremely strong, does delve into a weird plot twist that feels a bit out of place and the main villain isn’t as strong as say Sephiroth, Kefka, or Kuja. It does have some emotional hard-hitting moments and the voice cast does a fantastic job in their roles and Clive is a great protagonist.

    I feel that while it does have some missteps, I did enjoy my time with this game. It played well, and while the combat boils down to pretty much button mashing until you can use an ability and then you wait for a cooldown to use it again, it was entertaining enough, despite the combat being a bit spongey, especially near the end on some of the bosses.

    If you like Final Fantasy and enjoyed XV or VII: Remake you’ll probably like this a lot. I’d still recommend trying it if you’re a fan of the series but while the missteps do prevent it from being in my top five of the series, I still enjoyed my time with it and I do recommend it.    … Expand

    De los mejores FF desde luego, música, historia, combate, pero también tiene fallos que podrían haber mejorado como sistema de misiones secundarias y no introducir secundarias dentro de la principal por simplemente alargar la historia lo cual hace que en cierto punto se te hace pesado en cierto momento.
