Bad game. Bad Story, playing like an arcade game, Eikons is just arcade Sega style button mashing in a soulless caves.

I played FFXVI has a action game (not a FF) but even so, I'm really contrasted about it... And sadly nothing much will be remembered.

    1) The main story is good... not epic. Some scenes could have been better thought (like the fight against Odin) 2) The gameplay is cool but... Once you find the right abilities then... You stick to it and never change you strategy in battle. Battles

Some scenes could have been better thought (like the fight against Odin)

    2) The gameplay is cool but... Once you find the right abilities then... You stick to it and never change you strategy in battle. Battles repeat themselves and become kinda annoying.

    3) Where's my elemental damages gone? Fire VS Fire is okay?

    4) Enemy variety is super weak! Soldiers, Wolfs, spiders, and some reskins/color swap. It's terrible! (Elden Ring did an amazing job on that front)

    5) On a technical level, this game feels old.
Ok it has fast loadings but everything else is dated : No dynamic weather, no night/day cycle, hyper static cutscenes...

    6) Very limited equipment management... You just buy the new sword and off you go.

    7) I did all the sidequests and... Oh boy they are BAD ! Around 60% of my playtrhough I just skipped
all dialogs and run like hell to the next fight or place where I need to press X for 3 seconds.

    8) The world is annoying. You spend your time teleporting from one checkpoint to the closest to your destination. No sense of real world.

    9) The battle music is cool. All the other musics are... well I don't know... I don't remember any!

    10) The gameplay loop is always the same: You talk to npc, follow a path, kill monsters, teleport to destination, rince and repeat.

    11) Oh and Clive receiving pins from every NPC is just ridiculous! (Take this and they'll let you through... every time!)

    12) ... (I'll stop here... you get the message)

The only positive in this game are the Eikons fights. (Bahamut is the best one. Truly epic)

Developers said that the game was like a rollercoster. But it's more like a boat ride on a calm river where you need to paddle a lot. Then comes rapid waters (Eikons fights) that launch you just enough to pass through shallow waters...

Played it... ended it... barely remember it.

I can see how long-standing fans might feel this game is too much of a departure from the FF formula, but for me, it’s a game that surpassed all my expectations and made me feel “yes, this is what a modern video game should be like”. Sound- We all know FF kills it here always. Once again it's very strong, the musical score is varied, with more darker tones but still has some upbeat songs as well. There's enough variety to keep you going in a longer game. It's not the best ever but still very very good.

Gameplay- This will divide some fans, it has for a couple years and iterations now. It's fun, the different stances definitely increase the enjoyment of the combat, and it does take awhile for you to get all of these for sure. I'd say it did get a bit repetitive for me personally, just felt too similat to other action games. Just another version of different stances etc, this time it's eikons with grant different spells. It was fun, but in my opinion not the best facet of the game, and I still found myself wishing for a classic turn based rpg more "ff10 style" But this is the route they chose to go and its alright.

Story- Okay, so plot is actually where this game shines a bit! The characters are well voice acted and actually have some personality. I found myself really liking Clive and his story with his family and all that happens in the world. It is back to more high fantasy feel, but the whole eikon branded people concept with nations fighting over its' users etc was well pushed. Pacing int he story felt good as well, there were some well timed twists and just as you settle in things will pick up or shock you.

Okay, so great game, it's not groundbreaking. It's not a 9 or 10 out of 10. Very much recommend playing it, it's worth full game price, especially if you're an action game/ final fantasy fan. I still wish for a new final fantasy brings back the FF10 approach of cinematic turn based, but I think those days are done :( Fun, action game with some great visuals and music, gameplay will get repetitive throughout a pretty hefty story that keeps you going!

The gameplay is a mono-button gameplay. It feels like they try to build the most easy action game ever. And the technical side is still clunky, especially when you notice the pop up textures at the end of every single cutscenes of the game.
Overall I was expecting much more from the development team choose by Square Enix for this, and instead we facing another game that don't deserve to be called Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy XVI is purely spectacular in almost every way. The cinematic combat and boss fights are strengthened by a compelling story and a cast of memorable characters that are a joy to spend time with. It’s pretty nice graphically but the world felt a bit boring for a FF game. The combat was fine but it wasn’t a really big point for me since it’s only kind of interesting during the bosses. I’m fine With it but I don’t think The system is super amazing and I felt like this game is often fighting it self.It feels too long for this kind of combat but it wants to avoid your standard rpg elements that you would see in other ff games. I think it would have been better if they just stuck to making it an action game without all the half hearted “rpg elements” which don’t really add anything like the itemization and crafting mechanic that feels there for the sake of it

I also feels there’s just too many cutscenes or they’re way too long. I realize ff has had a big focus on them since ff7 but those felt way more natural and it’s not nearly as over whelming compared to this game where there’s so many scenes and just constant dialogue.

    I don’t think it’s a bad game but I don’t see it as a great game either. 7 to 7.5 out of 10

Yes, this is true Final Fantasy. For me, it was a lot better than Final Fantasy XV. It has all that is needed to be masterpiece: great characters, breathtaking visuals, beautiful soundtrack, epic boss battles, engaging story, fluid and rewarding combat system, interesting side quests. Everything is top quality in this game, so it deserves 10/10.

Final Fantasy 16 is another example of bad Final Fantasy game
Over the absence of role play game aspects, ff16 try to be an "action game for dumbies" to the player since it's structure is so weak that isn't able to sustain any kind of strategic approach, making every single battle just a ignorant button smash war. And even the plot isn't good at all.
