    Absolutely love the game. I have now played 11 final fantasy games over the past 20 years and count this as one of my favorites. The characters are great, the bad guys are very easy to hate, and I found myself becoming attached to so many of the side characters you get to interact with throughout the game. While there might be a few side quests that are rather simple, so many of themAbsolutely love the game. While there might be a few side quests that are rather simple, so many of them really flesh out the world or at the very least show you who Clive really is. The combat is fun with many options for different play styles. I'm currently playing through New Game+ and love that there is still some challenges to be had with more enemies and harder fights. I even still find myself doing the side quests and rewatching many of the cutscenes that I loved so much. Much like my other favorites from the FF series, I expect I will be coming back to play this game long after I have gotten the platinum just to live in the world with the characters I love again.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Frankly, I was initially skeptical to buy a Playstation 5 console solely to play Final Fantasy XVI. I was worried that this game would end up being a disappointment. But, 67 hours later and I finally beat FFXVI. Naturally, I would feel good about something like this, but I was just sobbing, the ending made me realize how I was very connected with the characters, each of them with their back stories. That what is a Final Fantasy truly is, feeling connected to the characters and the world itself. Speaking of the world, they pulled off the aspect of world building extremely well. The political powers and beliefs, and the lore dating back to the very dawn of this world. It was as if they were drip feeding us information, and that pacing was perfect for something of this scale. Me personally, I wouldn't like it when they dump bunch of information at the beginning. When the world was presented to me in the demo content, I kept asking, what is this, why is this happening, how did it happen, where, when? And all of these questions I had from the beginning eventually got answered. I loved it when they already set the bar up high in the demo content, then they decided to break that bar immediately after the demo content, then another one is set in, but yet they break that bar. It just keep on going until the very end. A truly roller coaster of emotions. Overall, I'd say, Final Fantasy XVI is the ultimate Final Fantasy experience for any beginners and the old hardcore fans.… Expand

This game is amazing, im a long time Final Fantasy fan and this games action is exactly how I remember each game I ever played as a kid with my imagination filling in all the empty spaces. But that is all seperate from how amazing the writing it, its basically an interactive novel and when characters die I feel like i've lost a friend in real life. I have never been moved this much by a game in my life. The combat is responsive, The side quests weigh heavy on my mind from the decisions the characters have to make, the pain and joy I feel for them is real. I speak to people for a living and these characters feel more alive then the actual human beings i speak to just droning through their every day life.… Expand

    This game is easily one of the best Final Fantasy to come out. It's my favorite since 12 and already in my top 5. The combat evolves on itself as the game progresses, it's beautiful, has a great sound track, and endearing characters. Some of the Side quests can feel like a trudge but every one of them add flavor to the world in a unique way.

    Historia incrivel , combate sensacional que vai divertir players casuais , mais vai brilhar na mão de players avançados que curtem uns combos mad . O conteudo segundario poderia ser melhor, porem não afetou minha experiencia . Ja considero um dos melhores jogos que joguei .

    Genuinely one of the best games that I've ever played. Sure there are valid criticisms I've seen that I somewhat agree with, story pacing, overall performance issues, etc., but when I look at the game as a whole, it's truly something special. The music is fantastic, the story is gripping, the characters are lovable and the bosses are magnificent. Can't say enough good about this game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While this game is not your typical Jrpg game or your ff game, its still a phenominal game nonetheless. The developers had been saying they want to make an action game in stead of normal jrpg game for the longest time so I dont really see what the fuss is about. The down side of the game mainly lie with the exploration and the linear gear progression. The exploration is just **** most of the time you have no reason to stray off the main path because there is nothing for you to find and when it does, it barely worths anything. With that being said, the story, characters, and combat is more than enough to be able to make up for it's horrible downfall. And Eikon battle is what stuck out the most for me, also the ending is just beautiful, probably the best ending I have seen in a long while. In the end, no game is perfext and FF16 is no exception, however what it does good it does great and for me that is more than enough to make a great game. Hopefully the DLC can fix its problem.… Expand

    I wrote a very long review and accidentally closed the window. I really don't feel like writing it again, so I will only say this: I love this game so much. It's a beautiful cinematic experience with a heavy story focus and a lot of lore to discover. The characters are great, the combat fun, and the world is beautiful. That's honestly all I want out of a game, hence my score.

    FF9 still deserves the crown of greatest FF (no contest) just due to scale and execution of the artstyle of that game on the PS1.     Tutte queste sono cazzate, questo gioco è perfetto, le mappe non ti fanno sentire intrappolato, il combattimento è veramente stupendo ( e con un minimo di testa, le mosse che occupano il campo visivo possono tornare utili se si usa il cervello)
    la storia è una delle più belle mai viste in vita mia, quando si pensa che si è raggiunto il picco massimo in uno scontro ogni volta si ha sempre di meglio, i cali di fps mai avuti, graficamente è spettacolare e i particellari che danno fastidio a chi non ne capisce niente sono invece STUPENDI. Non fidatevi di chi su youtube né sparla perché non hanno niente da fare se non lamentarsi e seguire la massa, compratelo e fidatevi non lo ridarete indietro mai e poi mai. Sto facendo il new game plus e non me ne pento.

    発売日から遊んで、今日やっとクリアーしました。
    サブクエどころか、マップ上のNPCの会話までしゃぶり尽くし遊びました。
    結果、こんなに時間が掛かってました。

    ストーリー進行でNPCの会話が、丁寧に変化してあって世界が生きているのを感じました。
    初期に上がってるレビューとかを見ると、サブクエが楽しくないって意見が散見されます。
    きっと、サブクエって形式な時点で、切って捨ててる人が多いんだろうな思います。
    サブクエの中に、この世界を好きになっちゃう濃い内容が、散りばめられてるんですけどね。

    クライブがどんなどんな人達と出会い、どんな思いを共有していたのか、、、
    サブクエを通して知っているか、知らないのかでラストのパンチの演出の印象も
    変わってくると思います。

    My only negative would be the no mode where we can equip every 4 or 5 Eikons but that's more of an endgame want,

    This game is amazing. Will likely win game of the year. Character development is well thought out. Story and fight pacing is perfect and it stays always from all the typical RPG elements meant to suck time away for a reward. The game starts pretty linear as it teaches you things then opens up nicely. I also liked that the side quests really tied into the main story most of the time. It wasThis game is amazing. The experience was unreal, it made you feel every emotion possible. first off the story, its done perfectly. the pacing is great(granted you do some side-quests lol) and a it never gets boring and every time you stop playing it leaves you itching to play more and continue the stellar story
    next the side-quests. they are some of the best side-quests i've ever seen. often side-quests just become grindy and they never have much depth but those issues aren't here.
    the quests are beautiful, happy, sad, impactful, and most importantly it doesn't feel like a completely different game from the story when you do them. it blends together so well and you actually feel like the things you do make an impact on the characters and people of the game and the amount of dialogue random Npcs have is pretty incredible. their just fun to do as well, and the rewards you get are great like various upgrades or one where at the end of a side quest line you get the best sword in the game (not counting new game+ gear) so i definitely recommend doing them.
    next the music. Jesus christ someone went hard with these. its some of the best **** ive heard in my life and when i finished the game i literally saved like 25 songs to my personal playlist so that should give you a good idea on how good the music is. As for the ending song it will make you **** cry and feel hopeful at the same damn time.
    next is combat.
    now for older and newer ff fans no it is not turn based
    however it seems like its a little harder to make turn based work in modern games( excluding persona)
    i just don't think it would work here with this game and turn based isn't nearly as popular as it once was
    it just doesn't seem like what a-lot of modern players want
    turn based fanatics can go on about turn based is better or it fits more or it takes way more skill or blah blah games aren't about being good at it or about the game being insanely difficult its about having a fun beautiful experience and this has that in spades.
    to keep it kinda short the combat is **** awesome and epic. the combos you can pull of are satisfying and i adore the eikon powers and i'm betting and hoping you will too.
    dodging feels satisfying landing strong attacks feels satisfying and its just all around super fun
    it never gets boring either, certainly didn't for me.
    the boss fights are....this game has the best boss fights of anything ever
    towards the ending i got so excited about fighting the final boss i was **** up quick time events cause i was so excited and **** and i accidentally pressed a bunch of wrong buttons. (yes it has quicktime events however they arent annoying and were actually very satisfying to pull off)
    it helps that they are paired with the most godly music you'll ever hear so..yeah.
    they are satisfying and so damn fun to fight and its also an insane spectacle cause this games graphics are **** unreal. i took so many screenshots throughout the game cause it looks too good and idk how they did this but they did and its perfect.

    now we get to characters
    holy hell where to start... how about with clive our main guy.
    hes such a good main character youll find yourself loving his interactions and personality from the start.
    he actually shows emotion too like hell cry and laugh. albiet not a loud one but he will chuckle and smile frequently and he's very logical cause sometimes you'll find yourself saying his exact line before he can.
    every other character is like this too. you'll feel for them you'll love them you'll be happy and sad for them
    Clive certainly wont outshine everyone by a wide margin, in fact you may find yourself loving other characters more than him and i certainly wouldnt blame you for that.

    for example and lets just use one cause this is **** long enough already

    everything about him, his character his humor his voice his beliefs and his interactions with other characters is done flawlessly.
    the only complaint is i want more with him but wanting more isnt really a good complaint is it
    i think it give you plenty especially since his death elevates the story

    now cid is not in the game for too long
    he dies after the first 25% of the story buut the impact he makes on the characters the world the story, to Clive and most importantly to you, is incredible.
    you just have to play it to understand

    now for the ending
    now i may have put spoilers but i will never spoil an entire ending but this had me **** crying and it was just so beautiful, the perfect ending to this game and probably anything ever.
    the songs that play at the end are literally some of the best songs you'll ever hear and the end of the story will change you.

    so thats my review
    go play this game RN
    its worth every damn penny
    just take your time and have fun with it and you wont be sorry

    A masterpiece! A pure work of art! I've been following and cherishing this franchise for 21 years, and FFXVI brought me back to when I booted FFX for the first time on my PS2 as a kid. I'm so happy for the quality of this game, a 10/10 for me!

    Habéis hecho que este juego sea mi favorito de la saga y mi juego favorito junto a Ocarina of Time.

    Una auténtica joya, tanto en historia, narrativa, game play y epicidad, es un sueño hecho realidad para los fans de esta saga y para los amantes de los videojuegos.
    El contenido secundario pasado la mitad del juego es de mucha calidad ampliando el Lore del mismo, su mundo y sus personajes, el sistema de combate es de lo mejor que he visto un ARGP con sinergias entre habilidades y muy variado, lo mejor es probar varias combinaciones.
    La banda sonora está a la altura de los clásicos, tiene melodías que se te quedan grabadas.
    También hay bastantes guiños a la saga.
    El apartado artístico y técnico es sublime, una pasada de escenarios y un espectáculo los combates, en especial contra los Eikons y el enemigo final.
    Clive ahora es mi héroe favorito de la franquicia junto con Cecil.
    En fin mi nota es un 9,9 pero como no se puede poner, pues le doy un 10.    … Expand

    + Clife Rosefield - peak!
    - monotonous quests;
    - sometimes boring story quests.

Eveything comes together so well. Really addicitive combat loop, great visuals, incredible story. Even in the downtime between huge events I was having a great time.

    Some minor gripes, I'd like a bit    There are moments in this game I will remember for a long time and I doubt the scale and sheer spectacle, that pumped feeling and pure investment, can ever be matched let alone surpassed. If you're a fan of the series for the stories and characters, you won't go wrong here, and if you've avoided the series for, say, turn-based combat, the sixteenth installment offers the perfect opportunity to get started with this legend of the gaming industry.     New numbered FFs are good again. Stunning to look at, with new, punchy combat, and a great yarn, it is, if anything, too focussed, lacking a bit of the weird. [Issue#30, p.78]
