I was really looking forward to this game. A single-player, loot-based action rpg space game sound like a very fun game to me. But after 35 hours I had to give up. First of all everything you do in the game feels incredibly slow: The ships movement, traveling between systems and the whole progress. Most of the time you are searching the areas for keys like batteries oder or energy cores to open boxes or doors. Often the game don't show you where to look for them so you just have to search all of the place what can be very exhausting due to the slow movement. You can buy ships with a higher agility but even those feel kind of slow and they have low armor what brings me to the difficulty. Even on the first two (of 5) difficulty level the game can be very challenging. Enemies just one level above yours can deplete your shield and armory with few shots while you hardly do any damage to them. And that happens fast if you just follow the main quest so you have to do some of the side quests and time consuming searching stuff. And that's why Everspace 2 feels so uncomfortable to play though graphics and story are not bad at all. Expand

Loved Everspace 1. So far, I have to say the graphics are rubbish, considering the time difference between EV 1 & 2. Very simple textures, and the mechanics are meh. I expected much better graphics than the original. Boy was I wrong, This looks like and early PS4 game. There's no excuse for this. If any developers are monitoring this site, I'd like an explanation for this.

    Honestly I

Honestly I see no improvement to the visuals - no detail in the ships, atmospherics are the same as the original, and the weapon gfx actually look worse The game also feels like it's lost the intimacy of the first game. This is a game for 12 year olds, certainly not anyone over the age of 18. I'll keep playing as I've literally only played it for 20 min. So far, sorry, but I'm bored on every level.

I started Everspace 2 deeply unsure about a space looter shooter. Tens of hours later I don’t want to play anything else. Everspace 2 is a towering achievement of space-based thrills and spills. It absolutely deserves your attention.

Everspace 2 has a solid narrative, great arcade-style flight and combat mechanics, and an addictive explore, loot, and fight gameplay loop. That was true on the PC and it’s just as true on consoles. Everspace 2 is proof that an unexpected genre mashup like looter/shooter and space combat can play nicely together.

Everspace 2 is a fairly polished experience that really feeds the compulsion to find more loot. Space combat is fluid and easy to comprehend, although potentially disorientating. I do find the storytelling can make the characters feel distant from one another but the overall plot had me intrigued. The grand expanse from space has been somewhat segmented but the scale on display is still admirable and there's a cool sci-fi vibe to all of it.
