Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream is a brilliant testament to what a small team of dedicated individuals can accomplish, with River End Games releasing one of the best narrative-driven stealth adventures in a long while. Eriksholm features a moving, tragic, and ultimately hopeful story, mixed with fun stealth gameplay, and increasingly difficult scenarios to navigate. From its humble beginnings to its epic end, Eriksholm delivers in spades.

River End Games have achieved something special with their debut title Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream. This stealth adventure has a solid story driven by superb characters and a gorgeous setting. Whilst the gameplay may not be challenging enough or provide enough freedom for some players, it is still a tightly crafted stealth experience. Mesmerizing visuals, a great soundtrack and truly memorable voice acting make this game my biggest surprise of the year so far. In a genre that has fallen to the wayside, River End have injected some much needed life!

It’s easily one of the most enjoyable games I’ve played this year and a welcomed reminder that creativity and talent can still find a platform to shine within our troubled industry.

It’s clear that River End Games set out to create an immersive, story-driven adventure rooted in a rich, detailed world and they’ve succeeded. The engaging narrative, supported by strong voice acting, adds authenticity and emotional weight to the characters. Every element feels purposeful, from the thoughtful storytelling to the smart use of puzzles and stealth mechanics. Together, these pieces come together to create something truly special.

While Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream won't win any awards in terms of its challenge or implementation of stealth mechanics, I absolutely fell in love with its opulent setting, excellently heartfelt performances, gripping story and linear stealth adventure goodness that did just enough to satisfy my stealth hunger. Though some may rightly decry its lack of challenge relative to other entries in the stealth genre, Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream is nonetheless a stunning debut for Swedish based studio River End Games and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream is an excellent stealth game with challenging enviromental and combat puzzles, as well as a great story. All of these elements combine well to create a must-play experience for fans of the genre.

We highly recommend the lovingly crafted adventure of Hanna and her friends. The developers have impressively achieved what they set out to do with their debut work. Depending on how you play, the eight chapters of the game take around ten to twelve hours to complete. They are packed with an emotional narrative and exciting stealth puzzles.

An engrossing stealth action game, featuring incredible scenery and facial animation that shames many triple-A games, never mind other indie titles.
