    @ ALL GAME DEVS OUT THERE! This is how you do a Remake/Reforge/Reboot or whatever else you want to call it!
    After all the resent sloppy/horrible remakes of late I had no hope for Demon's Souls, glad Bluepoint showed the industry that remakes can be done right!
    Souls... you either love them or hate them.

    It's not a 10 because i don't believe in perfections, but this game is INCREDIBLE.
    Finally a FromSoftware game comes as a technical prodigy. The gameplay as I saw, got a little bit softer and accurate in therms of agility and movement. In the other hand, the bosses seems a little bit simple in the way that their moveset is kind of limited.
    At the end of the day, the game it's a REMAKE of    It's not a 10 because i don't believe in perfections, but this game is INCREDIBLE.

    The best thing of Demon's Souls were it's design and artstyle and Bluepoint has successfully ruined it, by editing characters, colors and architecture. On the other hand the bad thing about Demon's Souls were it's unbalanced gameplay and mechanics (you still need to grind items and can abuse some weapons in pvp) and Bluepoint didn't even touched it. Bad, very bad.

    The original was an amazing game and I understand it had clunky controls it was the first game of the series so it was like a beta but this game fixes everything wrong and I’m at a lost for words at the graphics and overall quality of this game

But as for the rest, ignore their stupidity, this game alone is enough of a reason to get the PS5, my guess is a lot of them are butthurt Xbots who are pissed they won't get a single exclusive for 2 years, who the heck else would hate on such an awesome game.     The game which has the better looking in new generation. Also it's a great gameplay in many ways better than the original. Really a masterpiece. Congrats to Bluepoint, they have demonstrate a high level work.

    Incrível. Platinei o Demon's Souls no PS3. Naquele tempo o game já era revolucionário. E hoje mais uma vez o Demon's Souls faz o seu nome na história. Ótimo remake.

    I think they did a great job with the remake. Having lightning fast load times really made this game better because I often found myself warping around the levels often. All the visual filter options are cool and the game looks great.
    I think it plays well but I did have a few minor glitches.

    My only issues are with Demon's Souls itself. Playing a melee character is really difficult and not as viable as it was in Dark Souls 1-3. I had to start over and play a mage because otherwise the game is frustrating as heck. But I definitely enjoyed it. I just don't think it's as balanced with the classes and customizations as Dark Souls.
    While there are some memorable and fun boss fights, they were definitely a lot easier than Dark Souls bosses. It felt like the levels themselves were more challenging here and just getting to the bosses was the real challenge. I wish the end boss wasn't such a wimp.

    This game isn't worth $70 but when it's on sale I'd definitely recommend it.    … Expand

    Demon's Souls Remake is truly remarkable. A proper remake, true to the original. Demon's Souls Remake looks stunning, sounds ominous, and feels silky smooth unlike many of From Softwares poorly optimized games that regularly have severe frame rate problems. Highly recommended!

    I first played demon souls 12 years ago, and it was one of my few PS3 games. i remembered that I spent a lot of time beating the first level and had to use a glitch on the last boss because it was too hard for me back then. When I played the remake on PS5 launch day, I didn't die once before beating the first boss. Suddenly all the memory comes back along with the game.     I'm someone who played and loved DS3 and Bloodborne and was excited to give Demon's Souls a try, never having played it before. It turns out that this game is extremely faithful to the original game, which means that the mechanics of the game are quite dated. I've put about ten hours into it at this point and I don't think I'm going to go any further, because it's just so tedious. The game is pretty easy for the most part, including the regular enemies and bosses. This, unfortunately, leaves the challenging parts to be the things which aren't fun at all, including the maze like levels and distance between the save points and the end of the level. If you make a mistake, or if the game throws in something like an invisible enemy that inflicts a new status effect that kills you in seconds towards the end of the level, then you get to retrace quite a long trail to get back where you were. Maybe ten years ago, this would have been less of a tough pill to swallow, but in today's day and age, and after having played (and mastered) DS3 and Bloodborne, this type of gameplay just feels tedious to be moreso than fun. I guess I'm back to waiting for Elden Ring.… Expand

    Best souls like game ever made, Bluepoint has done it again. Another great remake. Great gameplay with smooth frame rates and one of the great visual graphics in video game history. Games like this are the why PlayStation has always been better than Xbox.

    While the graphics is indeed awesome, the most iconic aspect of this game was its soundtrack. They "remastered" wrongly, removing all the iconic bits that made it so special, and now it sounds extremely generic fantasy music. The soundtrack of the Tower Knight boss fight? Gone. That's really a shame.

The game also has a choice for people who prefer fidelity or performance offering a 60 fps experience, not usually common in previous console generations. Of the biggest feature of the PS5 can be found here, which is a fast as hell loading time, this is one of the reasons why this game feels next gen compared to previous souls games. Overall the best experience you can get on these next gen consoles of you are a hardcore gamer, offering an amazing experience to newcomers and fans of the original game.… Expand

You can tell it wasn't for lack of effort either. The amount of detail and effort on display is staggering.

    With gameplay, I would say it is extremely faithful to the original. To a fault. The core combat is unchanged, in fact it's running the same code from my knowledge. This means that things like instant backstabs are still there, which could have been tweaked. Still, the original's core combat was exceptional and still holds up today. Additions like omnidirectional rolling, faster ladder climbing, limits to healing items you can carry, and a tweaked item burden system are welcome additions that improve the gameplay sandbox.

    Besides some missed opportunities and mistakes, I think Bluepoint knocked this out of the park. I would highly recommend this title if you have a PS5 and any interest in the Souls genre.    … Expand

    It is a mental grind.. But the satisfaction you get after you clear the boss after your heart is pounding is    DISREGARD ALL 0! I enjoyed all the Dark Souls, except 2, Bloodborne and Sekiro! And this one is by far the hardest (except Sekiro) and most enjoyable experience since it has no checkpoints and you have to go through the entire labyrinth to get to the boss fight each time.

    El mejor remake que he visto hasta hoy en dia. Un verdadero desafio con el padre de los soul que no te puedes perder, con un aspecto técnico impecable y que te dejará con la boca abierta. Aquí empieza la verdadera Next Gen.

    The best thing about this wonderful remake is that it truly feels like a new "Souls" game, rather than an old one being brought back to life. The graphics are incredible, the music is wonderful and the kingdom of Boletaria was recreated beautifully by Bluepoint Games. If you managed to get a PS5, but still haven't played this game, you're wasting your time.

    I'm a Xbox/PC player, but damn this game convinced me to buy a ps5 and i regret nothing. The most beautyful looking game i've ever seen. Great lightning, awesome enemy design, the soundtrack is just wonderfull recreated, the gameplay is just great fluent with locked 60fps.
    That's what i call an absolutely great remake and awesome launch title for a new console release.

This is especially evident on the controversial design changes of some enemies. I don't write    Is this still a great Souls game that was remembered by many? Yes! Does it play fantastic? Sure! But is this a good remake? I think not.

    It's really a shame that Bluepoint went with a new art direction that lacks subtleties and eccentricities which make the original game mysteriously gloomy. This is especially evident on the controversial design changes of some enemies. I don't write this to tarnish the amount of work they dedicated to the project, but a huge portion of the extra work is redundant.

    Some may argue that it's inevitable to be westernized. Well then hire more competent Asian artists with an Asian upbringing and aesthetics in Cthulhu and Japanese tentacle art.

    And some may say the original intent can in no way be fully understood because of the tech limitation that plagued the original. Well, just look at more recent Souls games like Sekiro, and see how far it's come since Demon's Souls in tech. Surely, Sekiro isn't a technically amazing game, but you can still get the idea how a proper gloomy, dark, morbid image should look with new techs.

    At the end of the day, the original will still stand high, because its art endures. And the remake is such a squandered opportunity, and SotC Remake is much better in comparison.    … Expand

    It’s a perfect remake and I think the only people who might be disappointed with it are… the die-hard FromSoftware fans. You see, the new Demon’s Souls shows clearly how much Miyazaki’s games have evolved throughout the years. The Dark Souls series simply does everything better. The remake looks like a prototype in comparison, while still being way ahead of other developers’ achievements in this genre. [01/2021, p.46]

    I went in expecting the world out of the Demon’s Souls remake and it delivered me the galaxy. I don’t normally speak this highly of games, but this is the one exception. Absolutely every facet of the original has been enhanced and it has stood the test of time. Bluepoint has done an incredible job at not only reinvigorating an underappreciated gem, but also leveraging the new technologies afforded to them with Sony’s new system. While there are a couple of minor technical blemishes, they don’t take away from how good of an experience this game is and Bluepoint’s diligence as a developer will surely see these kinks ironed out. This game is a system seller.
