    A masterpiece! This game was my second souls game after playing Bloodborne , it became as my favorite games at same time .
    Why I like Demon’s Souls ? The graphic is fantastic, storyline in souls games are not clear enough but there many stories in heart of this game. Level variety is successful, different designs for different tastes ! My favorite level and land is first land Boletaria !    A masterpiece! This game was my second souls game after playing Bloodborne , it became as my favorite games at same time .

    One of the best visuals since the new generation came out, the gameplay is the same as always but that doesn't make the game any worse, everything about it is absolutely amazing

    I don't get why some people say that it doesn't live up to the original. It's basically the same game but with a modern feel. A must-play for soulslike fans, however, it's defiantly the worst of Miyzakai's soulslike creations. But it's kinda expected since this was his first take on the formula. It's still a joy to play, but not so much to go with several NG+, at least for me and I wentI don't get why some people say that it doesn't live up to the original.     First of all, i'm writing as a person who played all Dark Souls, Sekiro didn't play Demon Souls OG, and finished Bloodbourne...

    I got platinum in Dark Souls 3, Dark Souls 1, Bloodbourne and Sekiro. This game is not souls game, at least it doesn't have the same signature as in other FromSoft game. It feels like its just a try to copy the FromSoft signature. I don't think that developers are bad, but this genre just not their's, they do not know what to do with it, they should try to make their own games about which they will be passionate.     Enjoyed this title- generally one of the easiest in the Soulsborne series. Also love the graphics and the world. Recommend for anyone looking to dip their feet into the Dark Souls series,

    Fantastic remake of the game that started the whole SoulsBorne genre.
    Not the best game in the series in my opinion but a must play nonetheless.
    Great atmosphere and level design, chunky and sweet combat, lot's of secrets and interesting mechanics to deep dive into.
    The bosses might feel lacking if you play this after the best bosses of Sekiro or Bloodborne though.

    I was so ready to give up on this, the frustration was unbelivable. Played through all the other souls games, but this one was special. Even uninstalled it and thought about selling it for a while. But then I gave it a new try, and o boy what a ride. So worth it. If you struggle, dont give up. It will click eventually, and it will be awsome.

    This was my second FromSoftware game after Bloodborne, and for me I like the setting and atmosphere of Bloodborne more, but this is better than the original Dark Souls for me.     Just an incredible piece of gameplay. One of the rare games that teaches you how to learn from your mistake. if you work hard and smart enough - you can get through it. Love the feeling of satisfaction the game gives once you beat it. And definitely a splendid graphics work from bluepoint games. Just awesome!

    (8) Very Good. Innovated, but perhaps not in the right choice for everyone. This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguable so.

    Beautiful remake graphic wise but that’s about it. The mechanics still felt outdated which makes it fall short from its competition. If you loved the game in its PS3 days or like souls like games and haven’t tried this one, this will make a fine edition to your library but otherwise be warned, you will die a lot and have to hunt for the story.    … Expand

    This is a great game and definitely 1 of the better From Software titles. Overall combat is smooth and the graphics are amazing. 1 thing that really frustrated me thou was the lack of any check points. I don't mind long check points but check points on this game they don't exist. Playing for half hour to 45 minutes to then have to do it again is just ridiculous.     You can get item pick ups but sometimes you can go an hour without finding a single health item. How ever it is possible to dodge most attacks. So essentially if your good enough you can make it through levels and not take damage but getting that good at the game would probably take a very long time. Overall it's a great game and it's fun to have some challenging games out there as these days you just don't get them. Even the hardest difficulty on allot of games these days is the equivalent of normal mode in most classic games. I also hate the fact with modern games you can skip missions or it constantly tells you what to do. You'll be doing a puzzle and your character will blurt out what to do next. It removes the hole point in gaming. Why play a game if you're gonna skip puzzles or have the game tell you how to do everything. It removes the feeling of achievement and this is what you get when you spend ages improving and then finally best a level or the complete souls game.    … Expand

Especially in cinematic mode; visually it is even more beautiful than Elden ring but let's be honest, we are here to challenge ourselves and see what this game can throw at us.     Visually and technically speaking, I have no words. The game runs very smooth with absolutely zero frame rate drops and stunning graphics. Gameplay-wise, it's pretty much like Dark Souls. Some people here are saying they "don't think the game improved", "the boss re-designs are looking worse than the original" and "the changes don't justify this remake". I can't believe they played this game the worlds look stunning! All the detail they added, just compare it side to side to the original. Every boss now looks like a real terrifying monster not just like a blurred stain, actually I think even the boss design of false King Allant improved (the more non demonic, pure design matches his idealised view of himself better - the true King is as "ugly" as ever). The only thing that could be better is the voice of the true king, in the original game it sounded more like the rotten demon he is than just an old man like in the remake. Don't complain about the gameplay, the AI is the absolute same why should it play different then? I feel Bluepoint put a lot of love and effort in this to make it a visual and proper early PS5 game.… Expand

    This game is perfect! It gives a great challenge with a good story. I highly recommend this game to people who love the souls-like genre, considering that it is one of, if not the first souls-type games to the souls genre.

I just want to put it out there before I go deep into the review, I want to state that I didn't play the original game so I can't compare the two. Now that I got that out of the way, Demon's Souls is a game with a ton of great ideas that although a few hits, many of its ideas are misses. The graphics and world of the world and enemies is jaw droppingly gorgeous. Many enemies and locales look like they were ripped out of real life. The combat, although a little too defensive for me, is still pretty fun in most cases and the world surrounding Demon's Souls is very intriguing. I really like the Nexus, a hub world that should be the standard for every hub world. Some of the things I don't like are the unexplained world tendency system, the health bar being lowered while in soul form, and most importantly the bosses. Although with a few of them I saw massive potential like the Old Hero and Old Hero or I liked their fights like with the Tower Knight and Flamelurker, most boss fights were either frustrating, boring, or straight up bad. The Dragon God is virtually impossible unless you know how to get past him and even then actually killing him is not even slightly thrilling. Leachmonger and the Dirty Colluses are essentially the same boss fight but with a different design. Although I overall think the game is enjoyable and is beautiful to look at, the game is kinda niche and not for everyone.… Expand

Tower knight was good. Maneater was a real challenge (but on a damn bridge!). - Grinding money for grass (health). The estus flask system    This game is just OK, If you're not already a big Souls fan, skip it.

    The one that started all of the souls games in a brand new outfit for a machine such as the PS5, brilliant game. I believe i've put 100+ hours and still wanted more. hope there will be more similar remakes in the future.

    I can't get over how much passion has been poured into the development of the Demon's Souls, visually it is so impressive, and whilst someone who thought that the bosses lacked complexity I still wouldn't change a thing, especially with the final boss.

    Don't buy this just because you loved Elden Ring. I've played Ds3, bloodborne, and elden ring, and the best parts of those games is how much farther away from the design of Demons Souls they went with each iteration. absolute slog

    What can you say? It's Demon's Souls remade. Awesome game from start to finish and excellent boss fights. However the mechanics feel a bit dated in comparison to today's standards, which prevents it from being a 10 imo.

    i was going to give a 4 but I feel like that would have not balanced out the fan boys of this game and I have beat and played this game on the PS3 and I would like to say it is still a hot mess filled with clunky mechanics just like the old one and I honestly thik they didn't even touch on the combat at all and just upgraded the graphics and thats it so if you want a glorified Demon Soulsi was going to give a 4 but I feel like that would have not balanced out the fan boys of this game and I have beat and played this game on the PS3 and I would like to say it is still a hot mess filled with clunky mechanics just like the old one and I honestly thik they didn't even touch on the combat at all and just upgraded the graphics and thats it so if you want a glorified Demon Souls that looks good this is for you but it is worth 20$ at most other wise just go get PS3 Demon souls… Expand

    Gimmick Bossfights are not a rare occasion in this one. Sometimes you have to run around a giant arena, trying to not be found by some big ass boss, who can only be killed by reaching point A and point B. While running to those he one shots you if he sees you and you do the same **** again...and the indicator when he sees you is really bad. The other time a Boss flies over your head and you have to wait until he is in range for you. Even then you can randomly miss him. Yea...fun...15 minutes hit or miss fight...as said, those two are not the only ones designed like this. Most of the bosses are easy and/or gimmicky. Those who aren't are very fun though.

    If you are a souls-fan anyway and/or want to see the roots of the game franchise you should pick this up. Otherwise I would rather buy Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3, Sekiro. Especially because you get more game for your money. Demon's Souls is quite short, compared to those three games previously mentioned.    … Expand

It is just "too crisp" and looks at times "too realistic" for this dark fantasy epos the souls series has created. Even the sound desgin, which is objectively phenomenal, smh misses the vibe. I mean it's just a little magic beam, not a ****    I liked the original one more.

    Made me think what the harry potter films would have been like, if they were made by Michael Bay..

    Last thing that got me a little upset is, that it seemed like they really put 98% of their budget into the graphics and sound rework.
    There were (and still are) so many bugs and glitches that already occured in the original one, that just got imported into better graphics.

    I would have much rather seen a completely new game with these graphics and sound design, which wouldn't even have taken that more effort than this remake (concept design aside).
    But I know that wasn't possible, as it was sony that wanted this remake to happen and bluepoint just got the acceptance.
    So I'm excited what the game they now started to develop (hopefully a fresh IP) is gonna turn out, as their work an Demon Souls seem to have gotten more acknowledgement than their previous reworks / remastereds.    … Expand

    You die a lot, the animation is obsolete dated 2009, draw distance is acceptible, ps5 has it hard to handle it, ps5 overheats during this game, sony uses this game to promote its unethic policies.

    The people who made this got their degree by copeing from each other, doing favors to teachers, begging their teachers, looking at youtube videos to learn how to program and they lack imagination, common sense in controls and decency. To that, add the fact that sony has started stealing peoples money from their profiles using its 1st party titles, and you got a big zero for its score.

    I really like the ambiance en scenery from the game. Although for me there is one major downside to the gameplay. Each level has only one place to respawn which is awesome because there is some insanely smart level design that lets you create shortcuts. But for some bosses you need to travel through half the level to get there. After dying again, and againg and againg. I don't mind dying aI really like the ambiance en scenery from the game.     Amazing remake. First souls game I've ever played and I'm completely hooked. Also one of the best looking games I've ever seen. Tough but fair combat. It has a high bar for entry but once you beat an area or boss that's been giving you a challenge, that feeling you get is addicting. It really is the original brutal challenge.

    I haven't played the ps3 version of the game and got really excited with the news that this game is coming out on PS5 at release which made me buy the console. A really great launch title for the system if you're into this kind of games. Probably the only downside of this game is it's too short. This game is actually better graphics wise than Elden Ring.

    I tried to like this game but the souls formula in this game is pretty bad...very slow fight and long distance to run for next boss battle is boring, they could at least change the formula for better...

    I played the original game back in the days and I enjoyed it a lot. The difficulty (which was not super hard) caught me by surprise at the time. This remake is well done and polished and it was my very first purchase when I got my PS5 on day one. Maybe 80 € was a biiit too high but the game is indeed an amazing product. 8,5/10!

    One thing about this game that bugs me is that it feels incomplete. Some of the bosses are a joke and gimmicky. At times you face a boss directly after facing one making one think that there were supposed to be other section in between that never got developed. Even the sixth archstone feels like it should indeed be there. I think this may due to funding being cut as this was considered a failure when Miyazaki took it over. I suspect they were not willing to dump anymore money into it. Even the cut scene where the Monumental explains the archstones mentions the 6th one. This leaves the game feeling half baked and the bosses are quite lacking.

    Even so, the game is quite a blast and very repayable as you can always try new builds with new weapons. There is much to be said about a game that spawn its own genre. Even though the game is relatively easy compared to modern Souls titles, its still quite a challenge and well worth the price of admission.    … Expand

Este remake realizado por Bluepoint te engancha desde que empiezas a jugarlo por primera vez.     This was great, I loved diving into the world and the atmosphere and ambient horror was nailed. Beautiful texture and modeling work, couldn't have been happier. The shader on the moon sword is *chefs kiss*. The gameplay is a souls game, and it's true to form of the OG

    I never played the original but this game is gorgeous. The development team did a tremendous job with the graphics and the movement feels fluid and great. I wasn't a huge fan of having to stock up on the grasses for heals but the same problem persisted in Bloodborne when you ran out of the vials. It ends up being a minor inconvenience.     This was the very first Souls game that I actually beat. I have Bloodborne but still working on that one. This game starts off very difficult if you’re not used to these games but with time you start figuring it out and strategizing on how to beat a certain enemy. I thought the graphics looked awesome and I was constantly saying “damn that looks so good”. Would have been better if they somehow kept the art direction, sense of darkness and creepiness of fromsoft art style it would have been better, but I still think it looks great. The hub world looks IMO 10x better now than the original.

    Gameplay wise, it is exactly the same as the original apparently and you can definitely tell. If you go into this expecting a brand new souls game, you’ll be disappointed. If you go into this expecting to play the first souls game ever made, with a fancy new graphics coat, than your expectations will be met. I like to think this game was mostly made this way because a lot of people (like myself) never got to play the original, and now we can in 60fps 4K. It would have been cool to have a fully remastered game including mechanics but I am happy with what it is just because I got to experience demons souls for what it was gameplay wise. Was funny playing with janky dated mechanics in 60fps. I still like this remake more than ds2 scholar or something lol


    Definitely the easiest souls game by far. Especially with magic. Got the platinum in less than a week with the most tedious part being grinding for specific item. The world tendency thing in demons souls was a cool idea they tried but the execution was poor, if you aren’t planning out how you are playing the game world/character tendency wise, it can be very frustrating to fix. Overall it’s just the most bare bones souls experience (a la the first one lol) with new graphics. Nothing ground breaking here but for souls fans who havnt played demons souls original this game in my opinion does it more than justice. Still better than ds2    … Expand

    Never played the PS3 version but the game is great. Only problems are: too short and some underwhelming boss fights. This is a remake of a game from 2009 so it’s flaws are mostly understandable. Highly recommend for souls fans. Oh and the visuals are top tier of the generation.

    Outstanding game, loved it, also loved the trophy list, it was hard ish to start but managed to get the platinum quite easily in the end as the game allows you to overpower you self with some grinding (unlike sekiro), but yeah loved it great game.

    I don't usually praise games this much, but this is an exception. The original has been enhanced in every way, and it has endured the test of time. Bluepoint has done an amazing job of not just revitalizing a neglected treasure, but also utilizing the new technology available with Sony's new system. Best remake ever made. Definitely recommend.

    It’s a perfect remake and I think the only people who might be disappointed with it are… the die-hard FromSoftware fans. You see, the new Demon’s Souls shows clearly how much Miyazaki’s games have evolved throughout the years. The Dark Souls series simply does everything better. The remake looks like a prototype in comparison, while still being way ahead of other developers’ achievements in this genre. [01/2021, p.46]

This remake not only looks lovely on the PlayStation 5 but is also a joy to play with all the tweaks and improvements that have been introduced.     I went in expecting the world out of the Demon’s Souls remake and it delivered me the galaxy. I don’t normally speak this highly of games, but this is the one exception. Absolutely every facet of the original has been enhanced and it has stood the test of time. Bluepoint has done an incredible job at not only reinvigorating an underappreciated gem, but also leveraging the new technologies afforded to them with Sony’s new system. While there are a couple of minor technical blemishes, they don’t take away from how good of an experience this game is and Bluepoint’s diligence as a developer will surely see these kinks ironed out. This game is a system seller.
