    As i have enjoyed the original release on PS4 back in 2019, the Director's Cut enhances on everything that made Death Stranding the Master Piece it is.

    -Technical: improved quality with Performance mode that runs at locked 60 FPS at 1800P. And a Quality mode that targets 60 FPS at native 4K, mostly running at 60 FPS with small dips in the mid 50s in certain scenes. Finally Wide Screen    As i have enjoyed the original release on PS4 back in 2019, the Director's Cut enhances on everything that made Death Stranding the Master Piece it is.

    -Technical: improved quality with Performance mode that runs at locked 60 FPS at 1800P. And a Quality mode that targets 60 FPS at native 4K, mostly running at 60 FPS with small dips in the mid 50s in certain scenes. Finally Wide Screen Mode (My Favorite) that combines both modes offering wider field of view running at locked 60 FPS while using native 4K textures for many onscreen resources, only draw back in this mode is the two black bars on top & bottom of the screen, but it might be ok if you're playing on a large screen.

    -Gameplay Mechanics: mostly maintained the older mechanics (if it ain't broke, why fix it) but with added flavor of the adaptive triggers & haptic feedback of the PS5 dual sense controller. In game additions; new structures, items and methods of delivery.

    -Story: the main story remains untouched from the original release, yet there were few side story missions added that offer more cover of this weird world of Death Stranding.

    For veterans or newcomers, this is a very important game in the industry, it is different and unique and it touches on very important aspects in our lives as gamers; the sense of connection & isolation.
    Yes the game starts slow but i guarantee that anyone who passes Episode 3 in the game will continue and will enjoy this weird piece of art.    … Expand

    A breathtaking, emotionally deep game. Hosting a surprisingly addictive gameplay loop. A fun world to explore as well, especially if you are online. It's a unique experience that has a slow start but once you're in its quite captivating.

    Death strandings story overall is quite good but certain game mechanics can be really annoying. Basically everything in this game you find out through trial and error. Then other stuff it goes into so much detail when it's the most basic thing in the world. It constantly talks and you gotta skip through tons of dialogue. Stop restricting the player all the time. Other then these things the game is quite fun. I like the way they came up with unique concepts instead of playing it safe and making something they knew would work. To many Devs are a bit generic these days so it's nice to see when they do something different.… Expand

    Hideo Kojima is the most over-rated, all hype, developer in the industry, and this walking simulator proves he is also morbidly depressed and wants us, the audience, to feel his pain. I give it 1 star for starring Norman Reedus, although i feel sorry for him and hope it doesn't ruin his career.

    На 15 час игры ты уже просто изнываешь от ходьбы, от стрельбы, от езды ты умираешь на 3 часу игры. Очень плохой баланс между кат-сценами и геймплеем. Аудиоплеера так и не нашел в игре. "Твари" появляются часто и просто начинают бесить.
    Кароч, часть того что срежиссировано и двигает сюжет - отлично, есть атмосфера, аудио (как музыка, так и эффекты)    Мне нравится эта игра, честно, НО:

With the amount of tools, gadgets, routes, and items this game gives to you it's up to you to decide what the gameplay really is. Like MGSV, Death Stranding is only as repetitive as the player. If you want to do the bare minimum to just get from cutscene toTruly a one of a kind experience. Anyone who has played this game enough should know that the "walker simulator" meme is false. With the amount of tools, gadgets, routes, and items this game gives to you it's up to you to decide what the gameplay really is. Like MGSV, Death Stranding is only as repetitive as the player. If you want to do the bare minimum to just get from cutscene to cutscene and lack creativity or imagination then you might feel disappointed. However, the game will really reward those who use their creativity, imagination, and intelligence when it comes to finding new ways to get things done and form connections.… Expand

    One of the greatest games I've ever played. It can take 5-10 hours to get hooked, but once you are you'll never wanna stop. The sense of community is like no other I've experienced, especially for a single player game.

    This is a 'you either get it, or you don't' type game. Give it time, and you will be hooked I almost guarantee it.

    People will buy and enjoy anything that has Kojimas name on it. The stupid like system is basically just an insult saying this generation will do anything for likes. Not to mention nothing about the gameplay or story feels cohesive. It feels like Kojima wanted to see how weird and horrible he could make a game and his fans still eat it out of his hand.

    Even with Metacritic scores in the mid 80's, and a Steam rating of 9/10, this game is still pretty underrated. It's a shame that it went over so many people's heads because it's a slow build that continues to get better the further you get in it. I will admit, in the beginning it's pretty slow (absolutely gorgeous and incredibly atmospheric, though) but, as you keep getting further, a lotEven with Metacritic scores in the mid 80's, and a Steam rating of 9/10, this game is still pretty underrated. It's a shame that it went over so many people's heads because it's a slow build that continues to get better the further you get in it. I will admit, in the beginning it's pretty slow (absolutely gorgeous and incredibly atmospheric, though) but, as you keep getting further, a lot of gameplay elements open up to you and it becomes pretty damn incredible. It does take some time but it really does get better and better. Significantly so.

    I truly believe that the negative reviews are from people who either never played it, or people who only played a small portion of the early part of the game.    … Expand

    Its chill game for patient people. For some it will be worst game and for others great game. Music is heavenly. Graphics are amazing and story telling is driving this game. It can get really boring but its really depend on your mood. Definitely divisive game. Normally I would rate it 8/10 but because even for me it could get really boring sometime and it so divisive I will lower it a bit.

You are basically doing endless fetch quests, and although you get a steady drip of new abilities and weapons to sweeten the mix you're still just taking parcels around at the end of the day. You are basically doing endless fetch quests, and although you get a steady drip of new abilities and weapons to sweeten the mix you're still just taking parcels around at the end of the day. Though set in North America the scale of the place has no relation to reality, and it also looks more like what you'd find in Scandinavia in terms of scenery. However rebuilding the world is a quite fulfilling gameplay loop, and above all the little bits of help you get in terms of constructs and likes from other players is a brilliant touch. It almost, but not quite, saves the game. A unique experience and definitely worth trying out, but at the of the day it all comes back to being a postman. It reminds me a bit of Metal Gear Solid 5, but I have to say that's a much superior game to Death Stranding.… Expand

    In an era of copy rinse and repeat video game design I find Death Stranding to be fascinating and even addicting. Hideo Kojima is truly is a mastermind of video game design and the longer you play this game the more rewarding it becomes.

    Death Stranding Directors cut is excellent.

    But like marmite its not for everyone and far from perfect. It is an artistic masterpiece which will make you feel but that feeling might be negative or positive. But it will cause a visceral reaction which few games in the last decade can do.

    The graphics though repetitive are amazing. The sound and music are staggering and as good as you could hope. The game is huge with plenty to do over the 20-40 hrs I played. The story is interesting and controversial but often messy as is the bizarre writing. The gameplay is extremely solid and scary and thrilling and action packed. I would go from being bored to being chilled to scared to excited in one sitting! Its such an unusual game.

    The multiplayer is very neat though really only single player but in a team. Its a big part of the game not to be missed.

    I never knew I would enjoy being a postman. It turns out that can be a cool thing when you have a cool ride and cool gadgets and terrifying monsters and terrorists to defend against.

    It is never as consistently good as metal gear but it has far highers highs (and lower lows). But any fan of the last MGS will find plenty to love here. And if you like Norman Rebus then this is the game for you haha
    This is a must play game which love or hate needs to exist and any intelligent, thoughtful person should give it a go (and don't quit until it grows on you as it will given time!).    … Expand

    This game transformed my perspective {which is what all great ART is supposed to do} on a profession as old as trade itself, the occupation of creating/managing systems to deliver much needed supplies/equipment/goods from point A to point B… this    LOGISTICS…are the circulatory system of modern civilization. the heart steady pumping needed supplies/blood throughout civilization/the body.

    This game transformed my perspective {which is what all great ART is supposed to do} on a profession as old as trade itself, the occupation of creating/managing systems to deliver much needed supplies/equipment/goods from point A to point B… this is…logistics.

    While this game definitely definitely isn’t for everyone, and Me being a long time metal gear solid fan-having no expectations going into this game… I was pleasantly surprised at how engaging the experience was for me. The game mechanics along with narrative urged me to contemplate just how important logistics are; I had to think about how important the people are that we count on to bring us the things we need, so we can pick them up at hubs/stores or our homes.

    Sure someone can verbalize the importance of these people to you [especially if society were to experience a major collapse] but going through this experience within the context of the engaging narrative, can transform your perspective about delivery, that no speech or history lesson could ever do. I must admit, the story was pretty good-to me, even almost shed a tear ,... I heard that Kojima wanted to be a film director, and it shows. I would definitely go see the death stranding movie. 8 out of 10.    … Expand

    Wonderful. After a quite slow and unengaging start, the games got me absolutely involved. I never really got the story, but that did not matter. Being the nerdy loner who gets to accept the merits of being part of something felt good and I developed a strange satisfaction riding across the map to deliver parcels and build infrastructure.     Such a fresh, unique gaming experience. It is a slow burner which requires patience and the story requires an open mind. I can understand that simpletons and kids will not enjoy this because it is too slow for them, not enough action for them, they don’t understand what the game is about. I only recommend it to open-minded people who don’t have ADHD. Masterpiece

    Definitely requires your patience through the first half of the game but it's definitely worth it. The plot is pretty good and the storytelling might be one of the best I've ever seen. Definitely worth a try, especially if you have access to game catalogue on PS.

    I Have to admit.. if you do not invest your first 10 hours, you can not understand how large, diverse, full of content and beautiful this masterpiece is. First 10h show about 15% of what can be done in this game. I am sorry for everyone that quits sooner (as I almost did)

    game yg sangat panjang sekali, udah kayak nonton tv show ada episode episodenya segala tapi dari itu semua kita disuguhkan dengan grafick yang sangat memukau dan gameplay yg bagus dan buat kalian yg pengen main game buatan om kojima death stranding ini wajib ada di list kalian.

    wow . it is so good to see 4k .60 fps on quality mode with wide screen mode . and new missions are nice . but i saw some places that has been changed and thats cool . new machines are helpful . and it uses ps5 controller so its making experience Better than before . it costs 10$ and i think this is sooooooooooooooooooo good and cheap .

    Giocato è un capolavoro con narrazione molto variegata e cinematica con le sue teorie. All'avanguardia ben curato e rifinito su console ps 5. Director's Cut arricchisce ulteriormente il gameplay più varietà di elementi arcade rende Death Stranding un gioco molto variegato con tutte cose come si dice a Napoli. Spero di giocarlo di nuovo su PC quando avrò un PC

Had the game’s setting not been mildly interesting to me I would’ve dropped this game after a few hours & forgot it existed like pretty much everybody else basically has. It’s not 100% bad but IThis was hands down one of the most miserable gaming experiences I’ve ever had. This game took me over 3 years to finish.     The few positives I do have pale in comparison to the positives in other games I’ve played in the last generation. The graphics are great, the sound design is immaculate, the music is really good, the online functions were pretty novel & the story FINALLY got interesting towards the end. I really loved how the Big 5 mass extinctions were incorporated because I’ve always found them so interesting to study up on. Glimpses of peak fiction don’t erase the misery I felt for 90% of this game though.
    In no universe should a game EVER take as long as Death Stranding does to “get good” like others have said. 10 hours my ASS. I didn’t rise from the coma this game put me into until the 25 hour mark, so should I have listened to my gut & uninstalled the game at the start of the 2nd area to watch the rest on YouTube? Yup! This game should have been 10-15 hours max. The walking simulator gameplay loop was the equivalent of watching paint dry for over 30 hours. The driving mechanics are god awful, I honestly think they’re worse than driving in the Mafia games. The majority of this game is just.. walking & making deliveries. If that’s what Kojima thought was good game design then I guess that’s his vision, but why did he have to subject it upon us? The middle of this game is the reason why I fell on & off this game for 3 years straight & if you played this “game” you know which sections I’m referring to. I know humanity sucks but I don’t think we deserved this level of punishment. After an intriguing opening section, the story just stagnates for 15 hours straight. I would’ve had more fun cleaning bedpans at a nursing home. Call me an old man but weren't video games meant to be FUN? This product just OOZES that Kojima pretentiousness in its direction & writing & it’s so damn insufferable a lot of the time. We get it Kojima, you’re sooo artsy fartsy. Nobody cares. Stop wasting my time & money & stop making games that are way too far up their own asses. Even the gunplay sucked! I could see this game being tolerable on PC with some crazy mods though. I really can’t stress how well over half this game should have been scrapped to make a more streamlined experience that maybe would have reviewed better & sold better instead of the convoluted mess we got. I’m shocked that this game is getting a sequel but I hope it’s actually able to BE a game instead of a walking simulator tv show, this coming from someone who ended up mildly enjoying the story & is a fan of story focused games in general. Once the sequel is done huffing it’s own farts like glue, at least the story can maybe go into some interesting places given where things left off? All I know is that I’ll be catching DS2 on YouTube, not with a controller in my hand. Just go listen to the soundtrack & watch a recap on YouTube & you’ll be fine skipping this one.     A game to remember for a while. The story is really intriguing, every character you meet in your journey have something to offer. To contribute to the overall story. Easily one of the best games I've played. I highly recommend that you give it a chance and don't get demotivated by the bad user reviews which are mostly about the price of the game or the claims that it is a delivery/walkingA game to remember for a while.     The story is very interesting and new, the gameplay can be complicated in certain points and very easy in others, the performance on PS5 is sensational, the Dualsense makes you feel the weight of things as if you were carrying them. All this is debatable but that it is a one-of-a-kind game, that cannot be denied.

    If 5 is an OK game, then this definetly deserves to be a 4. Probably the most boring and meaningless game I have ever played. I spent 15 hours trying to enjoy this game and at some points I did. The game has an amazing soundtrack that can make traversing this boring world relaxing and fun. Even these moments are short lived and happened only 3 times during my whole 15 hours of gameplay. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now it’s rarer for me to get into a multiplayer game. Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I own a PC (built by me), Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, PS3, PS4, PS5, and a Switch. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    Originally played on the PS4. 10 dollar upgrade to PS5 and receive additional content. Worth it to me.

    (8) Very Good. Innovated, but perhaps not in the right choice for everyone. This score indicates that there are many good things to be had, but arguable so.

    To start off with, the graphics are insanely good and so is the story and characters. This game has a good message to tell the world too. This game suffers from story beats being too far in between which will force some players to give up and just research the ending. You are pretty much just a delivery gut in this game but there is more than just walking like people say and they let you unlock other stuff pretty quickly. Gameplay is smooth but the first 8 hrs of the game you are wondering if all the walking complaints are true but it’s just the initial game mechanics. You’ll be driving, and zip lining in no time. Just be sure to plan your route for vehicles otherwise, you’ll be walking.    … Expand

    Mir hat das Spiel super gut gefallen aber ich kann auch die zum Teil negativen Bewertungen verstehen. Ein schlechtes Spiel ist das auf kein Fall. Die Story ist super gut geschrieben und das Schauspielern der Figuren ist einfach nur gelungen, vor allem bei Sam und Fragile. Über die Audio/Soundtrack und die Grafik sollte man einfach nicht diskutieren, denn die ist einfach wunderschön.     Absolutely loved this game! I recommend anyone to play this game after finished an intensive game (like the souls games or similar). This was so wonderful and the world is astonishing.

    I didn't buy it because many say it's a walking simulator...they don't understand anything! This game is great and I'm going to play it all this weekend, highly recommended.

    I was skeptical about this game because of the hate it received, but after playing it, i can say that these people are so wrong. This game is fantastic, not perfect, but its now one of my favorite games. Sorry Kojima-san for doubting you.

    I agree with lots of criticism - the basic gameplay loop of delivering packages can get quite tedious. Especially if you want to 5-star all of the preppers, that's a lot of busywork. I actually enjoyed it for a while, but after 40h of gameplay I was really done with it. If it was a bit more engaging and fun then I would rate it 9/10 or maybe even 10/10.     Um jogo com uma mecânica diferente de tudo o que já foi feito. A história do jogo é uma das melhores que vi nos games. iniciei o jogo sem nenhuma expectativa e fui surpreendido. Recomendo para todos que procuram uma experiência diferente do padrão da indústria. A trilha sonora é outro ponto a se destacar, as músicas do jogo são verdadeiras obras primas.

    Took me 2 years to play this game because i heard it is walking simulator but shouldnt listen some people. Game is totally masterpiece, story is excellent (lou came to my dreams), gameplay is very smooth and there is plenty of vehicles to use if you dont want walk but walking in this game is just made differently and they nailed it. Combat was pretty hard sometimes but not overhelming.Took me 2 years to play this game because i heard it is walking simulator but shouldnt listen some people. There should be radio when travelling with vehicle because soundtracks is very good but its nice to enjoy silent enviroment no cars, animals just silence. Graphics is amazing too.

    There is a reason why this is the only "Strand type" game. I dont know why any one would want to play a literal delivery man sim.

    But on the positive side the game looks amazing the acting and motion capture is also very good and I was interested in the story but the gameplay is so unbearable I just couldn't finish it.

Además su sistema del control del juego esta muy bien hecho se ve el gran trabajo que le dedico el Hideo kojima por su desarrollo. La banda sonora es muy buena nada que decir, las historias que le envuelveEs una experiencia nueva, diferente de muchos otros que hay en la industria de los videosjuegos.     You love this game or you hate it there arent middle rates like 7 I left it 10 hours past the start of the game because i found it voting but almost a month later I continued it and I loved it, it's a trip when you discover the Ending part really good story and amazing Characters, music moments are perfect and I loved it, it has some negative sides but it is a really gente defying game.

    Kojima created a world which makes you dive in it. from create bridges to deliver a box, everything matters, the storytelling is just unbelievable, characters are perfects.
    Everyone must play this game.

    Oynarken aşırı sıkıldım, zevk almadım ve bıraktım. Sırf Kojima yaptı diye bu kadar sevildi sanırım, başka birisi yapsaydı şuan düşük bir skora bakıyor olurduk büyük ihtimalle.

    Director's Cut is by far the best way to experience Kojima’s latest game. However, if you’ve already played Death Stranding and you’re considering buying the new edition just for the added content, better sleep on it. [12/2021, p.78]

    Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is a solid remaster with smart upgrades that build upon the original release without taking away from what made it a unique experience. The game itself has a lot to say and some of it is genuinely compelling, however, the pacing is abhorrent and the core gameplay is a deadly pill made out of tedium and boredom, that I really wish I hadn’t swallowed. Let’s hope I’m a Repatriate.

    Whether the 4k60 frames or the powerful features of DualSense, the experience of Death Stranding: Director's Cut has been taken to another level. With this Director's Cut, there will be some new feelings when going through the "journey of connection" again.
