Awful graphics, awful controls, awful camera and bad theme. This is a pretty mediocre release in every way. Graphics are like welcome to 10 years ago. Were they blindfolded when making the camera? Main character is boring. Hopefully they dont remake the others

História interessante, gráficos bons, iluminação show…

First of all, ive gotta say that this game gave me much more pleasant and enjoyable experience than original. The atmosphere was built different than in a original, now i was really scared to walk through Ishimura, with all its darkness and horrifying noises of aliens.

If we are starting to talk about plot of the game, i must admit a new breathtaking direction of cutscenes, and how they evolved from original. The plot is nearly the same as it was in original, but - from the start of the game we can see Isaacs face, and they’ve rebuilt final plot twist right before final boss. But i think for new players, this games plot will be really interesting and it will stimulate to finish the game. And also developers added some side-quests, that expand already perfect lore to a new level.
Also i would like to admit amazing reworks of bosses, such as second fight with Leviathan, that became a complete challenging bossfight comparing with the original. Also for me, bossfight with Hunter was much more challenging and more interesting than it was in original.
Overall, theres nothing more to say, if you played the original i highly recommend playing this game, and if, on a gods name, u haven’t played original game - Dead Space Remake is a must play for you. A masterfully crafted horror game, with interesting story and challenging gameplay deserves your attention.

The use of the Frostbite Engine and the introduction of some well done story and gameplay changes makes Dead Space one of the most engrossing horror experiences I've played in a while. There are some minor problems, a few bugs and oddities here and there, but that doesn't ruin the overall experience. I would definitely recommend picking this game up, but I'd wait for the price to go down a bit; $70 is quite a large sum of money. I look forward to seeing what Motive Studio makes next. Some bugs when you open up inventory screen and the music is a little too much, so much that you don't hear the enemy spawning behind you when you kill the one infront of you... Kinda annoying. Lots of little detail like that could have been changed or tuned in but they just went for the core of the game. Its a nice game but I think they should have gone further and changed some of the designs to make it more authentic and immersive. Nobody leaves digital pads with notes on it, I don't want to read about the ship designers name origin. The story telling is kinda meh. Make me believe im Isaac instead. So I say its a great game, lots of scare and fun. But a failed remake if the intention was to upgrade this to the new generation. In comparison the Resident Evil 2 remake is couple of years older and was even better. Expand

I can see how it is a really good game but I am not sure I like resource constrained survival horror games anymore. I loved RE4 because I never felt like I was that short of ammo but in Dead Space I found it annoying to have to manage. Constantly running out of ammo or med packs. I think I prefer horror games that let me just go ham and blast through zombies.

The story is a little muddled, and the ending seems choppy at best, but I loved it overall. Really hoping second and third are remade. Bravo.

This Remake also added optional missions which allows you to uncover more things that went on board the Ishimura as well as and AI director that can cause enemies to spawn in previously explored locations. This can lead to each playthrough being different and can lead to some pretty intense moments.

These are but of a few things this remake has improved and I am very happy that this game was handled with care by the developers and look forward to the second game, which is my favorite, getting the same treatment.

Great game and faithfully remade. Definitely missed opportunity to change some aspects of the game to make this a more original entry but the finished product is more than enough. No performance issues apart from a few stutters here and there but no glitches or bugs or a massive day one patch which is such a rareity. Don't think it justifies the high price tag though.

Which makes me all the more satisfied for me to say that not only has EA Motive delivered on that, but I would also argue that there's no reason to pick up the OG since this remake is that astonishing and certainly up there as some of the better video game remakes as of recently. Right off the bat, I'm probably one of the few supporters of Isaac's voice in this game since it gives him a personality and human charisma that was straight up non-existent in the original, the scares are admittedly not very scary for me personally (although I suppose it's because I usually don't get scared by a lot of things nowadays), the atmosphere though, is so much better here that I was always unsettled no matter what, the zero-gravity sections are INFINTELY better here compared to the original since Isaac floats and can move in all directions compared to the stiff Superman jumps here did in the OG. The bad meteor destroying mini-game in the OG is replaced entirely with linking your weapons to the cannons and shooting them that way, THE LEGENDARY FOAM FINGER IS BACK and just like in Dead Space 2 and 3, it never gets old seeing there enemies you tried to run away from wishing they could run away from you, the way it subverts expectations by getting you ready for something just like in the OG only to do something different to catch you off guard. One thing I appreciate the most is how the game is done in one shot like the recent God of War games to keep the game immersive although it kinda felt weird here for me since the God of War games had a lot of cutscenes and coming from those to a game that barely had any felt strange. The entire Ishimura is non-linear this time allowing you to backtrack to places you haven't been to before and before you think this causes the game to get boring since this could you'll go back to rooms you've potentially already cleared, the developers thought ahead and placed dynamic enemy placement so you'll stay on the edge of your seat regardless you cleared out a room or not. The game also introduces side quests and I wasn't sure if I was gonna like them since DS3's left me divided but honestly even though they're short, the fact they expand on the lore of this means they have a place in this game. The combat is still so satisfying with it flows and it's even better with some old abilities getting new purposes. The characters remain spot on and the performances given from the actors are so much better than the OG, the soundscape is better than pretty much ANY HORROR GAME out in the moment due to how the direction of the sound changes depending where Isaac is positioned, and then there's one more thing that makes it truly special: it's just so beautiful. Now I'm not saying that just in terms of the graphics (like genuinely, it is a genuine looker), there's also the smaller details like when Isaac sees messed up stuff, the controller vibrates to replicate his heartbeat, the enemies now have a peeling system to make killing them more realistic, and depending on his health, Isaac's tone wills sound different. Overall, I hope my fellow PS brothers can enjoy this game because I strongly recommend this game from the top of my heart because it really is that amazing and here's hoping EA Motive can learn from this to help give Dead Space 2 and 3 the respect they deserve (although 3 is gonna need to start from scratch for that to happen) and maybe even move the franchise forward Expand

I simply cannot **** believe that Dead Space is back. I never really like DS1, I found it to be kinda poorly designed and narratively thinly sketched. I truly became a fan with DS2, and while I did go back to DS1 when I was in college, it didn't click for me the way I hoped. I appreciated the art direction and aesthetic, but everything else was severely lacking. I felt for the longest timeI simply cannot **** believe that Dead Space is back. I felt for the longest time that the events of Dead Space 1 were better left to interpretation in my mind, or vague memories and just play DS2 solo. While I do still believe you can technically do that, there was something missing whenever I did. Whether it be that extra bit of narrative context, or just worldbuilding. It's funny because neither of those elements are properly satiated in DS1, so it used to be in a state of limbo.

I was really on board for the idea of a DS1 remake since it was an experience that I felt was lacking. My hype plummeted after watching the 18 minute preview, where we saw the prologue in full. Idk what I was expecting, but that didn't do it for me. I assumed the game would just be a superficial retread with occasional dialogue inserted from Isaac with no narrative thrust or agency. I was afraid that Motive would be too afraid to change things, but luckily they did. It is still pretty faithful to the original's skeletal story, but it drapes a lot around those bones to fill it in. Isaac's arc is a bit understated until act 3, when you finally understand his motivations through the side missions, and I was enthralled. His arc is of futility, naïvete and trying to make sense of the unknown. He can't save everyone, and that eats at him. He's so self-assured and singular minded that his decisions do more harm than good, despite his good intentions. No, he doesn't accidentally kill people but I'm really happy Motive took this direction, because it feels consistent to his characterization in DS2. Motive really understands Dead Space, and I was blown away by the end of the game.

I will play this alongside Dead Space 2 for the foreseeable future. This filled a void that I didn't know I needed filling. It enhances Dead Space 2. I didn't think this remake could do that. EA dug the **** out of their ears and let a studio make a **** game for once. Dead Space is back. I'm pissed that EA drove it into the ground for expecting a survival horror game to make FIFA money, and ultimately chased trends into oblivion, but Motive did such a good job here. I can never forgive what they did to Visceral, but I have to admit this game is better than the original. It sucks that it took Capcom's success to convince EA to give Dead Space a second chance, but I'll take it. Just fix 3 please.

I was a little cautious of the newly released remake, mainly due to EA's current reputation, and was not initially planning on playing through this story again. But I saw the positive buzz and decided to go for it and am pleased to say that it is a great showing and a good improvement on all the baseline factors that made the original game great.
The gameplay is very tight if keeping to standard 3rd person horror shooter conventions. The combat is tense and focused in short adrenaline rush fueled bursts of hectic gameplay. This is all fueled by the best in class atmosphere and sound design. The massive, monster overrun ship you are exploring is literally breaking at the seams, creaking, busting pipes, falling debris, etc. all add to the tension that the game is trying to build. As you get to later sections of the game you begin to hear screams and whispers constantly as the main character starts to fall under the effects of the marker, the alien artifact that was brought on board and caused all this carnage.
The story of dead Space is your typical sci-fi horror dreck. As previously mentioned this seemingly dangerous marker was brought on to the ship because the captain and many of the commanding officers are members of the church of unitology, a religion that believes these markers will help them transcend to the next plane of existence, or something like that. The game does a great job through text and audio logs explaining why this church and religion is dangerous and is mostly based around tricking their flock into donating money and possessions while hoarding power. For all effective purposes they are Scientology.
I do hope that this leads to some new games and experiences within the dead space universe. While there are now a few more examples of this genre done right, Prey (2017) being the main example, this is still an area that can see some exciting and great new developments in the years to come.

Some weapons are clearly superior to others. In fact and I found this to be quite funny the weapons that are the far superior weapons are the tools that any mechanic would be using. They are far stronger than any military issue assault rifle or pistol that i found and tried to use only to find their damage output lacking. There are sidequests that aren't really sidequests as you will likely complete them just going about the main quest line. The sidequests felt included to just kind of check a box rather than something that a lot of time was spent on. Speaking of the story it is actually really good. It felt good slowly repairing the ship to try and make it home. The enemies are extremely fun to shoot off their limbs and there are alien possessed babies that you can stomp to death. Which I did, a lot. Took no time at all getting used to shooting off limbs instead of going for the head as that is the main gimmick with all the enemy types you come across. Their weak points are their extremities not their heads. Only negative with the combat really is the game has a really bad habit of spawning enemies behind you. Which unless you know they are there will almost guarantee you take a hit, which is an issue as the enemies deal a ton of damage. You get pseudo super powers as you cross further into the ship. With the stasis power being extremely powerful and something I found myself using for nearly every enemy encounter. You play in the third person camera angle which is great as the devs take full advantage of this by putting some of the HUD on your characters back, such as health bar and stasis meter. This was an incredible idea as it allows us to easily see our health bars and other meters without having to take our eyes away from the action. There is some resource management but you do get a ton of inventory space as you upgrade your suit, so much so I was able to carry four weapons, several stacks of ammo for each weapon and health packs. All while having room for anything I may pick up along the way to store in the store for later use. Dead Space is a game that starts out somewhat difficult but gets easier as you progress further into the game. This would vary with how much you explore and how you upgrade your weapons. Actual score of Dead Space is a 7/10, but lowered to a 6/10 because of EA being a garbage publisher that murdered Dead Space's original development studio. Expand

THIS is how you remake a game. After playing the likes of RE2 Remake and RE3 Remake over the past few years, it feels like a breath of fresh air to get a remake that is both the original, content complete game and then some on top. Don’t get me wrong the RE Remakes have things that are praiseworthy, and the trailers for 4R look great, but it’s surprising just how nice it is to not play a “reimagined” remake where they gut it of half its content.
The changes here feel earned, and really manage to blur the line between the OG game and a modern release.
The original holds up well for a 2008 release, but the fresh look and visual redesign are absolutely impeccable. It holds the same tone and amazing ambience that the original had, while elevating it with the new lighting and smoke effects.
It’s a stark reminder of just how good the OG Dead Space was, and just how sad it is that the series took the sharp turn in the wrong direction that it did.
If this opens the door to remakes of 2 and 3 (which I would be so onboard with), I desperately hope that they open up 2 a little to make it less of a straight corridor in terms of level design, and for 3.. well, maybe they should just REmake 3 from the beginning, and actually make something approximating a survival horror game.

All in all: DS Remake is fantastic.

A NEW JOURNEY INTO THE DEAD SPACE

    BEFORE WE START:
Dead Space Remake was developed by Motive Studio and published by Electronic Arts. This title is a true reproduction of the original 2008 game, produced by the now-defunct Visceral Games. This product sets itself apart from the various remakes in today's market by offering new mechanics and paths compared to the original. The game has been 100% completed on Xbox Series X.

    THE NIGHTMARE BEGINS, AGAIN:
Dead Space Remake begins with an introductory scene to the game's story, showcasing the various members of the expedition, including the legendary engineer Isaac Clarke, the protagonist of the entire trilogy. Unlike the original, he now has an uncovered face and sets the stage for the continuous feast of visual and auditory delights that this remake offers to players of all categories. In fact, this cutscene fully showcases the graphical muscle it brings, with extreme attention to detail and visual effects, coupled with technically impressive audio. After this sequence, the player finds themselves guiding the engineer through the doors of the USG Ishimura, a massive galactic spacecraft dedicated to mining giant stars.

    LOST IN SPACE-SHIP:
By now, the gaming industry has accustomed us to seeing great remakes adding a couple, or even no new mechanics compared to the originals. Fortunately, Dead Space doesn't disappoint in this regard either. Several sections have been updated and modified to provide a different experience even for those who have played the original. One significant mechanic that has significantly changed the approach to certain areas is the energy convoy system. This allows the player to redirect energy to specific structures such as elevators or doors at the expense of life support systems or, even worse, lights. This obviously adds more variety compared to Dead Space's typical linearity and gives the player more decision-making power. Finally, the last two major changes are the addition of more interactive objects on the map for defensive use, such as carts or pipes that can be used as spears, and the ability to explore a fully interconnected Ishimura, blocked only by security doors accessible during the story.

    THE VISIONS IMPROVED THE GRAPHIC:
It's challenging not to fall into banality when talking about a remake that has improved every single aspect of the game. The lighting has been extensively enhanced and structured to evoke different sensations such as anxiety and anguish, or tranquility and solitude. The colors, faithful in every situation, perfectly convey the feeling of being immersed in deep space. The attention to detail, whether it's the decorative posters, billboards, wall writings, or various objects found throughout the game, builds a silent narrative necessary for such a dark title. Of course, there are some minor flaws, such as the animations, which are still below par compared to the rest, and some final cutscenes that feel hastily thought out and concluded.

    SOMETHING IS COMING:
The audio department, even more than the graphics, showcases a remarkable technical level. For this title, a new 3D audio technology was used, which utilizes extremely realistic sound waves that bounce off surfaces just like in the real world. It's worth noting that you need headphones with 3D audio to fully exploit this feature, but the regular audio, which is meticulously crafted, is still impressive in its own right. Focusing on the 3D audio, it's one of the best, if not the best, on the market, and it's especially utilized to its full potential in a game like this. By using this feature, you can hear enemies climbing walls or rooftops, allowing you to predict their direction. You can hear entities approaching from walls several meters away. Not only does this make the experience smoother, but it also makes it extremely more horrifying and scary due to the unpredictability of certain sounds.

    WHY A 10? (9.5)

    PROS:
Dead Space Remake, a reproduction of an already established masterpiece, improves upon 95% of the original, offering a multitude of new mechanics and approaches, a backtracking system, and terrifying audio and visual aspects. These aspects make it feel like a new game even for those like me who have completed the first Dead Space multiple times. Additionally, it provides access to the Impossible difficulty right from the first playthrough, a brilliant choice that allows veterans to enjoy a completely balanced challenge from the start.

    CONS:
The negative aspects of this masterpiece are limited to the simple question, "Was it necessary?" This is because the original Dead Space from 2008 didn't need a remake. I believe that every fan of the saga would have appreciated a sequel or spin-off of the trilogy much more than this reproduction.

    RATINGS:
    Gameplay: 10
    Music: 10
    Story: 9.5
    Horror: 10

In terms of gameplay, Dead Space Remake is a thrilling and intense experience. The controls are tight and responsive, making it easy for players to defend themselves against the relentless monsters that lurk in the shadows. The game's combat system is also well-designed, requiring players to think strategically about how they approach each encounter.

The story of Dead Space Remake is also noteworthy, with a compelling narrative that keeps players engaged and invested in the game's events. The voice acting is top-notch, and the characters are well-written and developed.

All in all, I would rate Dead Space Remake a 9 out of 10. The game is a true classic in the survival horror genre, and the Remake has only improved upon the original's already impressive formula. If you're a fan of horror games or are just looking for an intense and thrilling gaming experience, Dead Space Remake is definitely worth checking out.

Sorry RE2 (still very nice) and RE3 remakes (meh), but it's time to step aside, Dead Space holds the crown now!

I can't believe i'm saying this and i'm saying this as one of the biggest fans of Resident Evil 4, but Capcom really needs to bring their A-Game, if they want to be on same level with this masterpiece.

Fully explorable ship makes the game so much more immersive, you can go back any time to any part of the ship (of course you need to unlock that part first, but most of the ship is unlocked by chapter 6/7. Side quests are also nice addition. I mean, why not? I enjoyed them.

Overall every boss fight is better than the one from the OG (and they were already solid in OG). Zero-G free flying is one of the most fun i have had in a long time. There's so many areas you can explore thanks to updated Zero-G.

As the old saying goes, nothing is perfect, but this one gets very close. This is a must buy for anyone who likes Horror games.

Looking at all the recent and upcoming horror game remakes and sequels, I was interested in but not particularly excited for the Dead Space remake. I was a fan of the first two games, but it had been some time since I’d played them… and in this horror game renaissance, the Dead Space remake has a lot of competition.

Now? I can’t think of a game that has made me want a sequel so badly, so fast after completing it. This remake makes a compelling case that Dead Space is not only worthwhile, but has an essential place in gaming right now. Why? Because Dead Space strikes a nearly perfect balance between action and horror, and demonstrates to me, like no other game has, that fun and fear do not always have to compete. Usually, they do—action games empower players, while survival horror games constrain them to create a feeling of vulnerability. But Dead Space manages to maintain real tension even as it gives you the tools to deftly take out small hordes of necromorphs. A lot of that has to do with the visuals and *superb* audio design and music—not to mention what Dead Space does best, immersion—but it’s also the franticness of combat as you juggle weapons and try to keep necromorphs at bay. Dead Space could benefit from being scarier in some ways—it’s certainly not the scariest horror game I’ve played—and I’d also like to see a sequel (a DS2 remake) expand further on the combat and find new ways to empower the player. The key here is that this remake makes me think both are actually, simultaneously possible. Story — the game’s narrative isn’t an all time great, but it is fully convincing. It feels seamless, and benefits a lot from the game’s commitment to immersion in all its aspects (from the in-universe UI to the single continuous camera shot approach). The writing is good, the voice work is great.

Combat — every single weapon is a blast and is useful in some way. This might be the most fun I’ve had with a flamethrower in a game (they often suck). The combat becomes bliss when you’re juggling multiple weapons, using their alt-fires, and mixing in telekineses and stasis. The dualsense features are very well implemented and add a lot to the feel of combat.

Graphics and audio — the game looks fantastic, with some minor caveats. It doesn’t reach the levels of fidelity that one might hope for in a current-gen-exclusive remake. The lighting is great overall, but transitions from light to shadowed areas can seem off at times. The audio design, however, is top tier. Play with good headphones and turn on 3D audio.

Performance — I experienced no serious issues. The game appeared to maintain solid 60 fps except in one single area, a large elevator that you return to a few times. As necromorph corpses started to pile up in that elevator, the framerate started taking serious hits.

There is no Russian language. I was really looking forward to the game. But because of this attitude, many players will not play the game.

The original games were renowned for their atmospheric horror, intense combat, and gripping narrative, and I'm pleased to say that the latest installment lives up to the high expectations. Dead Space on PS5 is a chilling masterpiece that not only revitalizes the beloved series but also sets a new standard for survival horror gaming.

Visually, Dead Space on the PS5 is nothing short of stunning. The power of the console truly shines as every gruesome detail is meticulously rendered, from the grotesque necromorphs to the dimly lit corridors of the USG Ishimura. The lighting effects and realistic character models add an extra layer of immersion, amplifying the tension and fear as you explore the derelict spacecraft.

The sound design in Dead Space has always been one of its strongest elements, and this remains true in the PS5 version. The unsettling ambient noises, haunting whispers, and bone-chilling screams create an eerie atmosphere that keeps you on edge throughout the entire game. The implementation of the Tempest 3D AudioTech further enhances the auditory experience, making it feel like every creak and growl is coming from all directions.

Gameplay-wise, Dead Space on PS5 strikes the perfect balance between classic mechanics and modern improvements. The zero-gravity sections are particularly impressive, taking advantage of the console's capabilities to deliver a disorienting yet exhilarating experience. The iconic "strategic dismemberment" combat system returns, allowing you to strategically target and sever limbs to dispatch enemies efficiently. The DualSense controller's haptic feedback heightens the immersion, providing a tactile sense of each swing, shot, and gruesome encounter.

The revamped user interface is sleek and intuitive, offering a seamless way to navigate through your inventory, check objectives, and manage resources. The adaptive triggers are put to good use, simulating the resistance of various weapons and adding a satisfying weight to each action.

While the core gameplay remains faithful to the original, the developers have taken the opportunity to introduce new features and improvements. The expanded lore and narrative elements give players a deeper understanding of the Dead Space universe, with intriguing new characters and plot twists that will keep you engaged from start to finish.

In terms of performance, Dead Space on the PS5 runs flawlessly. The game takes full advantage of the console's hardware capabilities, delivering smooth gameplay with quick loading times and minimal frame rate drops. The inclusion of ray tracing enhances the visuals even further, adding an extra layer of realism to the dark and atmospheric environments.

However, it's worth mentioning that the game's difficulty can be quite challenging, even for experienced players. The unrelenting waves of necromorphs and limited resources will constantly test your survival skills, making every encounter a heart-pounding struggle for survival. While this may frustrate some players, it ultimately contributes to the game's sense of tension and desperation.

In conclusion, Dead Space on the PS5 is a masterclass in survival horror gaming. With its breathtaking visuals, immersive sound design, refined gameplay mechanics, and captivating storytelling, it successfully resurrects the franchise, catering to both longtime fans and newcomers alike. Brace yourself for a nerve-wracking journey through the depths of terror and prepare to be captivated by one of the most compelling gaming experiences available on the PS5.

The brushed metal of your suit and the ship's surfaces reflect light convincingly, while the darkness truly feels deep and foreboding. Navigating through the shadows with only your torchlight heightens the tension to an impressive degree. A noteworthy detail is how the lighting ingeniously affects combat situations, as the red emergency lights flash and strobe, illuminating the encroaching creatures. With each blink, they draw closer, intensifying the adrenaline-fueled experience. Expand

Isaac Clarke's original adventure is back in a new format, which has more depth in story and freedom in terms of gameplay. As a result, the game is recognizable, yet not the same which makes for a nice result. The game also has impressive graphics and the audio is unnervingly strong. That the game has some minor flaws we take for granted, because this horror adventure is recommended to everyone.
