    Solid remake of a classic. From now on, this is the definitive version of Dead Space! I would highly suggest ignoring all these extremely negative reviews here. These are written by very sad and empty people, who's entire life revolves around calling everything woke. I'm pretty sure they don't even know what it means, they will just fit everything they dislike, under that word. Instead goSolid remake of a classic.     I have thoroughly enjoyed this game so far. The combat system is very satisfying and is very nostalgic. It's great that they have added additional puzzle types through the power systems, i.e to power up the doors you need to power down the lights/oxygen tanks/gravity to re direct the power. I really like the ability to go back to previous areas in which you may have missed a schematic, weapon, collectible etc. I do have a couple of points to give in relation to areas I think the game needs working on and it's not being negative or anything. 1. Sometimes you can encounter an awkward autosave moment when your about to die. This happened to me twice on my initial playthrough. 2. The map is a bit awkward to skim through each area. 3. The impossible mode should have been more aligned to the hardcore mode in previous games, allowing one save for 10 hours approx is a bit much and I reckon there should be atleast three saves. I don't ever game for five or so hours straight (I know alot of people do). 4. Sometimes you may accidentally pick up and play an audio log at the same time you're trying to listen to what Isaac and crew etc are trying to explain to each

    This game is a modern masterpiece. It’s really well made and beautifully retold. There are a few moments that are from the OG game but everything else is completely redone.

    This is a must have game for fans of both Sci-fi and horror. A brilliant remake of a survival horror classic. The new additions they added to the story, lore, gameplay, and level design feel so well integrated that you’d never think they were new additions. Motive should be really proud of what they have done here.

    A new standard for remakes. Gorgeous visually, but every change and addition adds to the experience. The seamless experience is amazing, Isaac speaking improves the story, and everything special about the original remains intact.

    This is a dope game, especially since I never played the original trilogy. The rumble features and sound are the best I've experienced yet on Series X. The only complaint is that they corridors and rooms get repetitive quickly. Despite that, the zero-g combat is tons of wonky fun.

    Fantastic remake. Some nice changes, and definitely reminded me of why I fell in love with the game. The price is a bit steep at $70, which I wasn’t expecting, but then again this is EA. Still, it’s a great remake. Love it on PS5.

    The graphics and lighting are absolutely stellar. The game on ps5 seems perfectly optimized. No lading screens. Voice is just right. Combat is exhilerating and perfectly balanced. Hopefully EA learns they can redeem some of their TARNISHED reputation by just making a single player game dedicated to fans without microtransactions.     Everything a remake should be. A perfect complement to the original game, adding new mechanics, areas and story for old players like myself. As someone who knows the original game like the back of my hand, I had high expectations of the remake, and they did not disappoint. The only thing I can say bothered me was the fact that kinesis has a habit of grabbing everything except what I don't want sometimes, but it's hardly anything that really harms the experience. If you're planning on picking this up, play it on hard mode on your first run. There is a dramatic difference between normal and hard, and hard mode provided the good challenge and tension I wanted, forcing me to be careful and consider all my options to survive. While I wouldn't say this game is a replacement for the original, it's certainly a faithful complement to it, and both games stand on their own well enough, but taken together it makes a perfect combination.… Expand

    A true remake that will please fans of the saga as well as new players. Everything is working great, in addition to following the original game, several new features are in the game, Isaac now speaks and bringing in the old voice actor was a perfect move. A respectable remake that will be a springboard to remake the second title in the franchise.

    A Horror Series with no true equal. A Classic given new life. A Remaster far surpassing the original. New ideas, new story beats, more fleshed out and real looking characters, more attention to the now much better written lore.

    Motive deserves Dead Space. Motive deserves all the praise.
    Dead Space NEEDS Motive, and Motive NEEDS to Remake Dead Space 2 and 3 already, and THEN make Dead Space 4.

    Dead Space Remake! Looks great and plays great. at lovely 60fps for me. The ships redesign to make it work with this current gen and seamless loading and exploration is also a awesome welcome. 10/10

    I mean, the rest of the reviews here already explain it. This is a remake Dead Space deserved. It's on par with Resident Evil 2 one. Everything that could have been improved from the original has been done so - next-gen graphics, superb sound design, tweaks to the gameplay, more rich and extensive story. It's all there. I expected the remake to be good, but not this good.

    Well Made remake, although had a battery not spawn, in the middle of the game had to stop playing, but was fixed in a couple days, some minor graphics problems might be based on computer specs.     Amazing Remake!!! I would highly suggest ignoring those low IQ idiots who review bomb this game and whine about everything. They should seriously seek help. Original game was good, but this remake is actually better. I'm seriously surprised.

    I`d give it a 8, but it gets a 5 for their woke trash. nobody cares, doesn´t add anything to the game, if it doesn´t matter, why change it?
    Also dislike the changes to the twist and it´s too expensive for a remake. it should not be supported full price!

    Dead Space is the one game that I get an itch to play from time to time, along with RE4. Luckily, there are ways to play RE4 on current gen consules. Dead Space had eluded this, until now. This is truly the way to remaster a game. The controls are smoother and better. Graphics are amazing. Made it hard to see where the enemies were coming from. As a guy who mostly plays every horror game on the hardest difficulty, I must say this one is not new comer friendly has I struggled on medium difficulty (1stA fantastic remake. They didn’t need to incorporate The message into another game, but yet the bathrooms are all trans bathrooms. And gameplay wise, you can barely run. There is no doge mechanic either.     Pretty sad that the PS5 can't hold 60 frames with Dead Space. It's a great game, but it runs better on XBOX Series X (like most games that are multiplatform) and PC (the holy grail of games).

    Game was bugged out in Chapter 3 and Chapter 10. I had to restart the game from the beginning for Chapter 3 because the key item didn't spawn and I only made one save. In Chapter 10, I had to reload earlier save because the main objective was bugged out and I couldn't progress to the next chapter after launching the asteroid.     90% of the game is the exact same as the og game with prettier graphics which is fine since its a remake but at full price 70 dollars is laughable and it's not like its a completely brand new game that took years to create and we got people on here giving it a 10/10 and saying they love the "new EA" LMFAO

Amazing game, challenging, great combat and amazing graphics and sound, oh and it was made by a new studio and original creators of this game. Pretty crappy that EA decided to put this out so close to the release of that game. Seems to me the negative reviews were planned out so this could succeed.     As I mentioned earlier, there's no multiplayer. So once you beat the campaign, there is literally not a reason to play this game again. Charging $70 for a game with no replay value is a cash grab. Yeah I get it, the original Dead Space had no multiplayer, but I have played multiple remakes that added multiplayer. EA are too cheap and greedy to add online. The only good thing in this game is graphics, but the graphics sacrificed the multiplayer and physics. $70 for half of the game is a joke, especially when it's extremely short. What am I suppose to do after beating the story, play the same boring trash again? I demand multiplayer. I don't recommend this game at all.    … Expand

    Basically it's good but nowadays it doesn't really impress me anymore. The game has good upgrades compared to the original and isn't exactly the same so it's great for fans who played it but for someone like me who never played the original and doesn't care about the series, it didn't make me want to care about it either. Alien Isolation is much better in my eyes

    I really want to like this game but playing on ps5 its buggy as hell so much so i have had to stop playing it. Hopefully they will fix it soon i would really like to finish it.

    Cambian personas de los carteles, carteles que un jugador veterano identifica, como el cartel del pasillo del Ala Médica Añadir hologramas cuando la única forma de ver acontecimientos en el original eran videos, no encaja algo tan moderno en la nave extractora plantearía más grande de su clase con varias décadas de servicio ininterrumpido.

    Final secreto que no tiene sentido, Dead Space su final es único, nada de crear otro aunque sea opcional, final canónico sólo hay uno.

    Not worth a ridiculous £69 for a remake. The game is still great, a shame the PS5 version with a controller and minimal aim assist makes it almost unplayable. I would purchase this on sale for PC.

    Lo malo: Las gráficas no me terminaron de convencer, el juego no se ve mal pero esperaba una mejor evolución tratándose de EA. El exceso de referencias WOKE ya cansan en las series y ahora también tenerlas que soportarlas en los juegos se vuelve fastidioso (No a todos nos gusta la Basura Progre). Sentí que el juego fue bastante más fácil que el original.

    Lo bueno: Me encanto que el juego fuera en términos generales bastante fiel al Dead Space Original, cuidaron bastante bien todos los detalles y añadieron mecánicas que sin duda ayudan al juego. He de decir que varias mecánicas como la de Gravedad Zero las toman de Dead Space 2 pero se sienten bien implementadas. Que añadieran voz a Isaac también fue un buen aporte a la historia, ya no se siente como si fueras el hombrecillo de los mandados.    … Expand

    The game as such is fantastic and definitely an improvement over the original. My complaint is regarding the constant, irritating swearing and cursing in every spoken sentence. This is an annoying habit with many new games. I like to consider a good video game as a piece of art, but the overabundance of foul language takes away from the experience.

The Callisto Protocol exceeds this game in every way and it got over shadowed for this marketing scam? Weapons - Once you upgrade all your weapons in TCP you are a smashing and shooting beast. In the Dead Space remake all the weapons feel very weak and not satisfying as in TCP. I think people were sold in the wrong direction here and there is something fishy between how TCP and Dead Space where marketed together when they were 2 separate games with two completely different approaches. Dead Space will always be one of my favorite space horror franchises, but now I am making room for the next big player in next gen space horror and that is The Callisto Protocol!… Expand

Also they added a lot of cutscenes in this remake that was not in original. At times it feels like they made it more like a movie for some reason. Immersion is low, npc move like robots. It really does feel like a cash grab. Where they put low effort in this remake so they can cash it of a good will of origin game.     I played the first Dead space 1 just some years ago, and I didnt think this ever needed a remake. The original game is maybe the best horror game ever made for reasons that have been absolutely done to death. The plot, characters and graphics go closest to 10/10 this genre has to offer. Only few bugs come to mind that interrupted the perfect gamplay, such as in Chapter 4 start you go to the bridge and the tram tunnel is visibly glitching through if you look at the window on left side.

    This remake should be reviewed like the Disneys new Lion king: Taking into account only the graphic and plot changes. That perspective completely fails in IGN and Gamespot reviews to mention some "official" reviews. I got a feeling most people played this game while never playing the original to be able to actually compare the versions and just slapped 9/10 in overall category. It´s got a good plot -just like in 2008. It has good horror atmosphere...just like in 2008. You see where im going?

    Objectively I think this game deserves two different scores that are:
    Graphics changes 6/10
    Plot/character changes 3/10

    First the graphics. The graphics are mostly excellent quality, there is no denying. The problem is that this is Rings of Power version of good as maybe you have a super stunningly looking project, but the cost-quality is just ridiculous. The price of this game is currently between 50-60$ which is almost as much rip-off as The last of us 1 remake, being as expensive that the damn game that already existed 15 years ago. And lets be real, when you were looking at Aegis VII from the bridge windows in 2008, I think hardly anyone had complains of the quality of graphics at the time. On the other side with this price tag im expecting some top-notch-quality but then theres things like Nicole Brennan. Why?? Nicole and Isaac Clarke are supposed to be in their 30s, like an ordinary couple trying to survive in this dystopia. Nicole looks in DS1 and DS: ingition pretty much the same, also in dead space comic book and in movie DS:Downfall the same visuals are still there. Then theres DS 2 that makes Nicole look like a distorted and creepy version of her which I can forgibe since she is just a hallusination screaming and trying to kill Isaac most of the game. In this remake version however Nicole looks like shes straight up 50 years old. Im not going to go deeper into this but the point is not all graphics look so fantastic. Maybe the joke was Isaac is into MILFs?

    The plot changes. Oh boy where I even begin? Every major plot/character change in this game is done worse than original. The game succeeds best on the little details, like captain Matthius turning into necromorph or secret ending. The big changes gave me an impression they didnt want to go full Disney remake-mode here copying the exact same product twice to better graphics so they though the had to change a few things here and there. But as I said, these changes are not generally good. Like giving the 2 Kelion crewmates more importance than being just necroporph cannonfodder at the very beginning. In the original these 2 cremates (Chen and Johnston a.k.a mustache man) instalty die to necromorphs leaving Isaac, Kendra and Hammond to survive alone. This feeling of complete hopelesness and loneliness of the situation changes when interaction is enforced by 2 ways: making Chen the necromorph that just happens to be the one that infects USM Valor and just happens to be the one that end up killing Hammond. Like really? I have never shaken my head to deus ex machina in a video game this bad. The other change is completely turning the mustache man to a black woman for no apperent reason, pretty much the same style what they did with blue fairy in new Pinocchio. And I though Johnston had a bad fate when he gets mauled and decapitated in the original game. Being a 2020s game I could get more into detail how "wokeness" has infiltated this game in a few sneaky ways like making Kendra, a secret government agent and ruthless killer apparenly a lesbian or making the toilets fricking all-genders neutral with symbols in 2500s deep space mining vessel. But since this game is labelled as horror I can give it a pass.

    OVERALL CONCLUSION:
    A new expensive remake that follows Disneys and The Last of us 1 remakes: the failure of sequels to beloved franchise result in milking the original project to death. Step in USG Ishimuras gender-neutral toilets as this new installment gives a surpise twists with Elizabets Cross and Zach Hammond, making your favorite characters die now more innovately that should be possible in 4K Ultra HD graphics.    … Expand

Every section was fleshed out with a mix of baked and dynamic lighting, there was specific themes and colour pallets to every part of the ship...That is all gone and the new game feels like a 10 hr demo ..That is not even to mention the new crappy puzzles they added that stretches the dull areas out further or the uglification of your wife who now look like a 60 year old dude that looses their crap if you don't call them ma'am..     A game that made a huge impact on the ps3. Playing it again, I found it outdated. I didn't feel the tense atmosphere of the original. Minor modifications to add diversity. I do not recommend.

    The game deserves a 9/10 but all the interface bugs which only allow you to quit the game and lose your progress since the last save nearly all the time is really, really annoying! Plus, the issue with the interface every time the game is launched that forces us to return to the main menu. Not acceptable for a golden game. So it is a 7 for me not more

    It's not possible to rate this game good. This a "remake" according to Devs. I can accept that outline of the story is the same but i cant accept wood made animations same or almost the same like in the original (which were great at it's time), poor dialog, poor face animations, object collision detect problems, worse cameras movements, enemy damage detection problems.

    Sorry but a little better graphics (rally not important) is not worth a sacrifices. For me it is a weird remaster maybe but broken with many aspects at the same time.

    This is an excellent action/horror game and the PS5 is the best way to experience it. Not only does it looks and perform best on the PS5, but it also has the addition of haptic feedback which makes it a much more immersive experience. (9.5/10)

    The Game is good but too easy in comparison with the original release in 2008. Now you can complete the game in the easy mode and begin a new game + with all your weapons and upgrades, even in the impossible mode: Impossible is now possible... Man this is very easy for this generation!!!

    Motive has taken a perfect game and somehow made it better. The improvements to the gameplay, graphics, and added story content are all fantastic and do not betray the original game in any way. This is the best way to play one of the best games and I can't wait for Motive to show us what else they can do with the Dead Space franchise.

Vorweg Dead Space hat mich 2008 gepackt, und seitdem nicht mehr los gelassen selbst Filme und Bücher die mehr von der Lore Hergeben sind gefolgt ein Top Universum was wir bekommen haben. Somit habe ich alleine Teil 1Ich muss meinen Eindruck auch mal zur Geltung geben ,weil ich viele Äußerungen nicht ganz nachvollziehen kann, gar die Ganzen Wertungen die Dead Space in den Himmel Heben. Vorweg Dead Space hat mich 2008 gepackt, und seitdem nicht mehr los gelassen selbst Filme und Bücher die mehr von der Lore Hergeben sind gefolgt ein Top Universum was wir bekommen haben. Somit habe ich alleine Teil 1 auf dem PC gut 16 mal durch gezockt und über 10 mal auf der Ps3 (Platin), Dead Space 2 gut fast 20 mal auf der Ps3 (74% aller Trophäen) Hardcore leider nicht geschafft , Dead space 3 ist ebenfalls über 12 mal durch, ein Tolles spiel weil es eben viel Lore hergibt ( 72% aller Trophäen) Hardcore nicht geschafft bis Kapitel 19 schaffte ich es =D

    Jetzt zum Remake: Vorab es ist kein Remake in wirklichen/Praktischen Sinne , wär die Entwicklung von "Motive" verfolgt hat und diese sich über den Status oder besagte vorhaben geäußert haben weiß wovon ich rede. Das neue Dead Space was wir bekommen haben ist eine : "Aufpolierte weitergeführte Blaupause" den Umfang welches das neue hier Hat wäre damals auch so rausgekommen. Die Grafik mal außen vor wir haben jetzt ganz andere Möglichkeiten mit den Next gens usw. Den Motive sagte selbst "Wir haben Räume gefunden im ursprünglichen Spiel , die nicht fertig gestellt wurden wo man einfach ein Tür vorgesetzt hat" , das Deckt sich mit damaligen aussagen von "Glen Schofield" der uns Dead Space Entwickelt hat also "Papi" =D
    EA Dauerte die Fertigstellung schon zu Lange man kann davon ausgehen das die Entwicklung 2005 startete. Und ja es gibt hier und da Neuerungen die mir gefallen z.b die Nebenmissionen für bestimmte Charakter aus Videologs ,oder Funktionen die aus Dead Space 2 entnommen wurden die das spiel geschmeidiger machen , sowie statt nur Zero-G Schwerkraft Sprünge "Fliegen" wie im 2ten mit den Anzug Düsen , Waffen Anpassungen usw usw. Die Atmo haben sie noch mehr angepasst und den Sound was mir gut gefällt wenn man das spiel durchschreitet , es ist Dead Space und es ist schön anzusehen .Sowie auch die Anpassung der "Nekromorph Spawn Spots" die sich mit jedem durchlauf anders anfühlen.

    Jetzt zu meinen Problemen mit dem Spiel: Diverse Performance Probleme lass ich außen vor, den Zeit zum nachbessern sollte man den Entwicklern geben und nicht schon darauf rumhacken.

    Issac Spricht: Hätte ich nicht gebraucht weil man sich so noch mehr in das spiel Vertiefen konnte und die Atmo anders wirkte, aber wenn es z.b mehr Story und mehr Charakter gibt ist es angebracht z.b wie für Teil 2 und 3 aber nicht unbedingt Teil 1. Issac nimmt ab und an den Helm ab wieso? Unötig das hält eine Charakter Illusion oben die dem Spiel gut tut , was meint ihr wieso in "Dredd" von 2012 Dredd`s Gesicht nicht zu sehen ist und er den Helm nie Absetzt , sondern man nur am Anfang sieht wie er ihn Aufsetzt eben von dieser Illusion Spreche ich =D
    Der Survival Aspekt: hat in dem spiel abgenommen eben durch die Funktionen und Übernahmen aus den anderen Ablegern ,wie schon erwähnt aus Teil 2 und der Wesentlichste ist der Extra Drop durch Leichen Stampfen. Was "munitionsknappheit" völlig beseitigt , "Cut off their limbs" wenn man es richtig macht hat man selbst damals auf "unmöglich" wo der drop schon sehr beeinflusst wurde genug gehabt . Jetzt habe ich zu viel und somit noch mehr Credits die ich durch Drops/Verkaufen einnehme , und ich jeden Shop herbei sehne weil mein Inventar sich schnell fühlt . Es ist ein Herber Aspekt für Teil 1 alleine diese Funktion, hätte mir gewünscht das sie es weglassen. Selbst für Teil 2 und 3 hätte ich mir das Gewünscht im ernst gutes spielen und Planen schon bekommt das spiel noch mehr Feeling .Waffen haben kein Extra Inventar mehr und liegen im eigentlichen Inventar, was die Platzmangel Geschichte etwas Beschleunigt wieso und warum weiß man nicht .

    Die Necromorph`s : Diese Sind auch Leichter geworden, sie weichen weniger aus , die Block Funktion wenn man auf den Körper schießt ist wie verschwunden, vorher haben sie ihre Klingen vor sich gekreuzt. Von der Optik gefallen sie mir auch besser als damals, wenn da vorne noch Organe raushängen usw. Das waren noch Zeiten ja Damals nur Jetzt? Weniger die neuen Sound´s der Necromorph`s sind nicht mehr so Gruselig wie Damals das sage ich mit recht . Die neuen Sounds klingen Oft wie "Mutierte Insekten " oder eben abgeschwächter als Damals was mir einfach fehlt . "Wer Erinnert sich noch an damals , als man durch die Dunklen Gänge der Ishimura geschlichen ist und man ein Geräusch Hörte ..... und sich drehte, und mit der Waffe Zielte..... und da war nix ..und man sich wieder umdreht und Plötzlich ein "Slasher" auf dich zu gerannt kam und dieser Sound aus der Kehle gebrüllt wurde :

Are they objectively good graphics compared to what the standard should be today? No. They're acceptable at best. Everything is pitch black. I know this is how it's supposed to be. But I just don't like it. You don't even get ray-tracing on PS5 unless you're willing to suffer 30fps, which is unplayable.

    The game suffers from the fact that it's a remake, yes - but still a very old game. This shows in the level design. It's literally the same dark, narrow corridor that you're walking around forever. There is zero variety. There are only a small handful of enemy types. The weapons are boring, the UI is clunky, the map is crap, constantly pressing R3 for the waypoint is tedious, the save system is outdated... Games were previously made like this because the technology of the day restricted game design. And this shows its age like Joe Biden at a stag-do. Similarly, the idea of a clean HUD was novel for its day, but not so much now, and the idea of shooting limbs off isn't as enticing as it was 15 years ago. Also, you only get 4 weapon slots but can carry multiple weapons meaning you have to keep swapping out in the inventory. A weapon-wheel would have fixed this.

    Giving this game a 10 out of 10, as many critics have done, is them basically saying this is as good as God of War, Elden Ring, Witcher 3, Horizon Forbidden West, Zelda, Mario etc. Electronic Arts are trying to capitalise on the Resident Evil remake successes, but those are actually amazing games even today, with interesting puzzles and fantastic stories. This has none of the charm of the RE series.

    Overall, I give this a 3 out of 10, but then it loses 3 marks for the woke, 'half man/half woman' sign outside the toilets which was not in the original, so why is it there now? The game is set in the future and you'd think that by then, we'd know that women don't want to go to the toilet and see a man waving his p*nis around in zero gravity. Stop pandering to the 0.24% of psychopaths that think they can identify as a tree, and that the rest of the world should then water them and make sure they get sunlight.

    Avoid at all costs. This will be free on PS Plus within 12 months, and even then, it won't be worth your time.    … Expand

    First 10 minutes of the game has several bugs that you can encounter. Even on the latest patch that require a full delete of your save data and reboot. Pause during the opening cutscene to take a call or delivery... but    One of the buggiest games I've played since Cyberpunk. Cannot get through the first part of the game without freezing and bugs that prevent you from continuing the game.

Pause during the opening cutscene to take a call or delivery... but then come back to AI will T pose and you can't escape the opening. Even after patches this still exists.
    If you reboot the game after dying from the first enemies, say you switch to another game or can't keep playing past the first few cutscenes. Rebooting the system will have you die while loading the game. YES while loading the game. You have a black screen showing the company logo, and the next thing you see after Dead space is your character dying. It loads your last save game when you boot but does not pause the AI! What??

    AI can T pose later in the game too preventing you from moving on. It can be hours before it happens or even not at all, but remember to save! But don't save too often, if you fill up saves, you can't get New game plus after beating it?

    Shop menus when exiting them can freeze. Requiring you to reboot the game. Do not press pause during the camera transition.

    Enemies can spawn invisibly. Items required to progress the game may not spawn for you either. Not everyone has these issues, the game is bugged in a way that isn't completely reliable. So some people like me get it, everyone else doesn't and raves about the game.

    You MUST on PS5 get the launch day patches. I think it's 2 patches in and the VRS quality makes the game look objectively bad - like they looked at it, knew something was wrong, and launched it anyway. I'm glad they fixed it launch weekend but why was it a thing to start . And their upscaling, I think their AMD upscaling makes the particle effects and dark scenes in a dark video game look terrible! It blurs all over the scene even with motion blur off, it's a "ghosting artifact". It can make people feel ill just by looking at it combined with the lighting in the game flicking tints of blue too. Quality mode is awful too since it butchers the frame rate to below 30 which makes this issue even more nauseous. That is not patched. so PS5 users should consider the PC version if this bothers or even makes you sick. Even the shop menus have little white dots appearing but they don't smear because it's stationary. The shops are in game so the upscaling hurts it

    disappointed in this release so buggy for many people reporting the issues, they'll ignore them. not patching fast. Xbox Series X now has crashes for people post patch.     Dead Space is in my opinion the best sci-fi horror. It perfectly recreates the atmosphere of a Resident Evil game, but in space and without the puzzles. It's very much a survival horror, and whilst inventory management is in the game, it's pretty minimal - which I'm thankful for.

    What Dead Space does incredibly well is leaves you along to play the game. It's fairly linear and even offers a waypoint path finder system to illuminate where you should go next, yet the game doesn't feel heavy-handed in forcing you to a path> Without the puzzle-solving to unlock paths, you'd be forgiven for assuming this game would get boring but the atmosphere is thick and the game doesn't hold your hand with combat encounters. Ammo is sparse and upgrading armor (suit) and weapons takes time.
    The story is also pretty interesting. Again very resident evil, that half the story is told by logs lying around, both audio logs and text logs. The rest is in-game cutscenes and video calls. I like this method of story telling as it allows you to immerse yourself as much you you choose.

You can really tell that the developers took a lot of time going through the original Dead Space and determined what was important to expand    Yeah, this is great.

You can really tell that the developers took a lot of time going through the original Dead Space and determined what was important to expand upon and keep the way it was. A great example being the tram system/the way each sector of the Ishimura is now interconnected. That was such a brilliant Idea that really makes this environment feel alive. Another example being the tension between Nicole and Isaac (without spoiling anything) in this title. I was always aware of this being part of the cannon, but to see it fleshed out and actually presented to the player is just some very good hindsight that was implanted into the game.

    I genuinely believe (even with my small nitpicks) that this is an excellent example of redesigning a classic title. Furthermore, I actually really hope through this that Motive Studios are allowed to re-imagine Dead Space 2. Heck, I even hope that they are allowed to be in charge of remastering/re-releasing Dead Space 1 - 3 for modern platforms.

    I never thought that I would ever experience a Dead Space game again. My favourite video-game franchise. This was such a pleasant surprise and such a lovely way to start the new year. Thank you motive studios.

    (on a side note)
    People complaining about the game being 'made-woke' are brain-dead. The only thing I'm sure that they cut is a certain npc with their lips cut open laughing on a medical table. Otherwise, the ethnicity of these characters are the same as they were in the original title. To even feel the necessity to complain about this is genuinely brain-dead in itself. Also, who cares if Nicole and Isaac look younger or older. It really doesn't talk away from the game's central narrative. Y'all are just silly.    … Expand

    I haven't played the original back then, so everything was new to me and I enjoyed it. Has an Alien vibe mixed with Resident Evil gameplay but with its own flavor and ideas. Very entertaining, nice atmosphere and fair challenge.

    However I found most characters kinda dull and uninteresting and they brought the plot experience down a bit for me.     plus that is a new ending mostly for new game plus and a lot of more things to do see and kill

    the only bad thing i got to say about the game is the extra dialog for Isaac some small story changes and the fact that they added context and side quests in my opinion the whole beauty of dead space 1 was i don't know what is going and the main character barely talks so the reactions are mine and not his

    but to be honest for the devs dead space 2 does have a lot of dialog from Isaac so im guessing they are playing around that would wish that they would add a silent mode for Isaac
    they also changed some of the story missions for the better and i couldn't be happier *looking at you turret section*

    the game does suffer from stuttering and some frame drops here and there

    all in all in spite of of some nitpicks and some technical problems here and there the game is perfect super faithful to the original and is the best way to experience dead space 1

There is constant tension thanks to the sounds, smoke effects and lighting. Definitely has the feel of playing through a sci-fi horror movie.     If your a fan of the original Dead Space you'll be happy to know the remake is really good.
    It stays true the survival horror roots of the original but improves the atmosphere, the grapics
    and the sound design. Aslo the stoy is altered for the better. I think the story makes more sense now.
    overall Dead Space Remake is a must play for horror fans.

One the gun is not powerful enough to beat the Leviathan. Also when it comes to beating the Leviathan there is never enough ammo in the game found or purchased.     Isaac Clarke's original adventure is back in a new format, which has more depth in story and freedom in terms of gameplay. As a result, the game is recognizable, yet not the same which makes for a nice result. The game also has impressive graphics and the audio is unnervingly strong. That the game has some minor flaws we take for granted, because this horror adventure is recommended to everyone.
