One of the standout features of Dead Space Remake is its stunning graphics. The game's environments are dark and atmospheric, and the creatures are designed with incredible detail, making them truly terrifying to face. The game's soundtrack is also noteworthy, with a haunting score that perfectly sets the mood for the game's tense and frightening moments.

In terms of gameplay, Dead Space Remake is a thrilling and intense experience. The controls are tight and responsive, making it easy for players to defend themselves against the relentless monsters that lurk in the shadows. The game's combat system is also well-designed, requiring players to think strategically about how they approach each encounter.

The story of Dead Space Remake is also noteworthy, with a compelling narrative that keeps players engaged and invested in the game's events. The voice acting is top-notch, and the characters are well-written and developed.

All in all, I would rate Dead Space Remake a 9 out of 10. The game is a true classic in the survival horror genre, and the Remake has only improved upon the original's already impressive formula. If you're a fan of horror games or are just looking for an intense and thrilling gaming experience, Dead Space Remake is definitely worth checking out.

I can't say enough great things about this game. Here are some of my favorites:

    1) Atmosphere is intense and scary. I definitely pooped myself a few times. Always on the edge of my seat. 2) Story is great! Love both the direct and indirect way of story telling - audiologs and text logs were enjoyable to read to get a better understanding of WTF is going on. 3) On harder settings,

    3) On harder settings, this game is difficult and you have to be strategic about your ammo usage, credit spending and upgrades.

Only a few minor cons. Weapon variety is GOOD but could be better. Enemy variety is GOOD but could be better. I would also loved to have seen visual, aesthetic upgrades to the space suit. It would have added a nice element to feeling like an alien slaying badass.

Absolutely incredible Remake of the legendary game, visuals are standing even on PS5. There is nothing to say more because the original game exists since 2008. And it must be pointed out that feminism is out of control, Nicole Brennan was made much older and uglier, and Kendra Daniels was converted into a woman. That is really bad when you are forced to do it everywhere no exceptions.

The enviroment of the game is scary and always keep you alert no matter where you are. The only negative i would give it is that a few times the game would glich and i couldnt get through a door or an area, causing me to reboot the game.

This is a faithful remake of Dead Space 1 with several changes that make it a better experience than the original: Combat has a better balance this go around, resulting in less weapons feeling like they are "storage fodder," and the additional side content brings a lot more to the story.

I really did not like Dead Space when I played it on the PS3. Something about the dismemberment mechanic seemed gimmicky to me, and I did not enjoy it. Fast-forward to the remake, and I gave it another shot. For some reason, it hit this time. Maybe it was using mouse/keyboard on PC, or any of the QOL improvements the new version got.

It's not a perfect game, with me getting the quest system stuck several times by doing things i wasn't supposed to, the dynamic loot spawner makes it questionable about what happens when you buy ammo, etc. But I am generally not a fan of AAA games and their stories, but this one was good. The writing was even decent, which is amazing.

I also wish it featured something new like an enemy type or weapon at least. As it stands though, Dead Space remake is still a fun time and one of the better horror remakes to date. Isaac speaks now, power node upgrades no longer feel wasted, and the USG Ishimura got a major overhaul, complete with in-depth side missions and open-ended exploration and backtracking, and even a new alternative ending to come across in NG+. I was afraid that because the original Dead Space has actually aged well, this would just feel disappointing and unnecessary, but it takes that same award-winning formula and enhances them, from the visuals and the sound design to changes to the overall map of the ship. I'd bump it up to a 9 after said bug fixes. Expand

Lots of little detail like that could have been changed or tuned in but they just went for the core of the game. Its a nice game but I think they should have gone further and changed some of the designs to make it more authentic and immersive. Nobody leaves digital pads with notes on it, I don't want to read about the ship designers name origin. The story telling is kinda meh. Make me believe im Isaac instead. All in all, its a very true remake to the original game. This is for better and for worse, while the game is a ton of fun, it is such an honest remake to which it really does feel like you're playing an Xbox 360 game in regard to the gameplay. Doesn't make it bad, but the jump scares and set pieces are incredibly predictable this many years later.

The graphics are excellent, but I have to say that Callisto Protocol set a very high bar for the graphics just a few months prior, despite being a worse game overall. After being treated to the visuals of Callisto Protocol, I can't help but feel a little disappointed with the graphics in the Dead Space remake. They're not bad by any means, but it goes to show you that they didn't do their best. The sound design is greatly improved with the ambient noises and the voice acting. I also really appreciate how they made Isaac have a voice from the very beginning, which adds a little more depth to the character and ultimately the setting itself.

Overall, its a great game for fans of the original and for newcomers. Doesn't do anything particularly well in today's age, but it is an enjoyable experience.

I simply cannot **** believe that Dead Space is back. I never really like DS1, I found it to be kinda poorly designed and narratively thinly sketched. I appreciated the art direction and aesthetic, but everything else was severely lacking. I felt for the longest timeI simply cannot **** believe that Dead Space is back. I never really like DS1, I found it to be kinda poorly designed and narratively thinly sketched. I truly became a fan with DS2, and while I did go back to DS1 when I was in college, it didn't click for me the way I hoped. I appreciated the art direction and aesthetic, but everything else was severely lacking. I felt for the longest time that the events of Dead Space 1 were better left to interpretation in my mind, or vague memories and just play DS2 solo. While I do still believe you can technically do that, there was something missing whenever I did. Whether it be that extra bit of narrative context, or just worldbuilding. It's funny because neither of those elements are properly satiated in DS1, so it used to be in a state of limbo.

I was really on board for the idea of a DS1 remake since it was an experience that I felt was lacking. My hype plummeted after watching the 18 minute preview, where we saw the prologue in full. Idk what I was expecting, but that didn't do it for me. I assumed the game would just be a superficial retread with occasional dialogue inserted from Isaac with no narrative thrust or agency. I was afraid that Motive would be too afraid to change things, but luckily they did. It is still pretty faithful to the original's skeletal story, but it drapes a lot around those bones to fill it in. Isaac's arc is a bit understated until act 3, when you finally understand his motivations through the side missions, and I was enthralled. His arc is of futility, naïvete and trying to make sense of the unknown. He can't save everyone, and that eats at him. He's so self-assured and singular minded that his decisions do more harm than good, despite his good intentions. No, he doesn't accidentally kill people but I'm really happy Motive took this direction, because it feels consistent to his characterization in DS2. Motive really understands Dead Space, and I was blown away by the end of the game.

I will play this alongside Dead Space 2 for the foreseeable future. This filled a void that I didn't know I needed filling. It enhances Dead Space 2. I didn't think this remake could do that. EA dug the **** out of their ears and let a studio make a **** game for once. Dead Space is back. I'm pissed that EA drove it into the ground for expecting a survival horror game to make FIFA money, and ultimately chased trends into oblivion, but Motive did such a good job here. I can never forgive what they did to Visceral, but I have to admit this game is better than the original. It sucks that it took Capcom's success to convince EA to give Dead Space a second chance, but I'll take it. Just fix 3 please.

The changes here feel earned, and really manage to blur the line between the OG game and a modern release.
The original holds up well for a 2008 release, but the fresh look and visual redesign are absolutely impeccable. It holds the same tone and amazing ambience that the original had, while elevating it with the new lighting and smoke effects.
It’s a stark reminder of just how good the OG Dead Space was, and just how sad it is that the series took the sharp turn in the wrong direction that it did.
If this opens the door to remakes of 2 and 3 (which I would be so onboard with), I desperately hope that they open up 2 a little to make it less of a straight corridor in terms of level design, and for 3.. well, maybe they should just REmake 3 from the beginning, and actually make something approximating a survival horror game.

All in all: DS Remake is fantastic.

This is Resident Evil 4 in space. The weapons and abilities are great. However, the game out-stays its welcome due to repetitive mechanics (please not another electricity-cog or zero-gravity puzzle) and missing quality-of-life (can't skip cut-scenes and few useful auto-saves).

I’ve never played the original version so I didn’t have any expectations. There is a lot of things to like about this game; it looks good, the controls are good, there is always a waypoint so you know where to go which is something I appreciate.

Some memorable scenes like Zero gravity rooms and boos fights. Cool weapons and upgrade. The story is ok but gameplay is fantastic!

The game is good. But that's because it's almost the exact same game as the original, just with with better graphics and improved audio... and a few gameplay elements added, very minor. I don't feel like this should be considered a remake, it's a remaster. I bought this expecting to have a completely different experience from the original, like other modern remakes such as FF7 and RE4.

Basically it's good but nowadays it doesn't really impress me anymore. The game has good upgrades compared to the original and isn't exactly the same so it's great for fans who played it but for someone like me who never played the original and doesn't care about the series, it didn't make me want to care about it either. Alien Isolation is much better in my eyes

Playing TCP and then playing this made me appreciate what an achievement TCP really is on next gen. Just the melee combat alone in TCP makes Dead Space melee combat a joke. Weapons - Once you upgrade all your weapons in TCP you are a smashing and shooting beast. In the Dead Space remake all the weapons feel very weak and not satisfying as in TCP. I think people were sold in the wrong direction here and there is something fishy between how TCP and Dead Space where marketed together when they were 2 separate games with two completely different approaches. I can see how it is a really good game but I am not sure I like resource constrained survival horror games anymore. I loved RE4 because I never felt like I was that short of ammo but in Dead Space I found it annoying to have to manage. Constantly running out of ammo or med packs. I think I prefer horror games that let me just go ham and blast through zombies.

Plus, the issue with the interface every time the game is launched that forces us to return to the main menu. Not acceptable for a golden game. So it is a 7 for me not more

The game as such is fantastic and definitely an improvement over the original. My complaint is regarding the constant, irritating swearing and cursing in every spoken sentence. The game feels like a worse version of the Resident Evil series. You get plenty of ammo to deal with any and all aliens you come across and you will come across a lot. Some weapons are clearly superior to others. In fact and I found this to be quite funny the weapons that are the far superior weapons are the tools that any mechanic would be using. They are far stronger than any military issue assault rifle or pistol that i found and tried to use only to find their damage output lacking. There are sidequests that aren't really sidequests as you will likely complete them just going about the main quest line. The sidequests felt included to just kind of check a box rather than something that a lot of time was spent on. Speaking of the story it is actually really good. It felt good slowly repairing the ship to try and make it home. The enemies are extremely fun to shoot off their limbs and there are alien possessed babies that you can stomp to death. Which I did, a lot. Took no time at all getting used to shooting off limbs instead of going for the head as that is the main gimmick with all the enemy types you come across. Their weak points are their extremities not their heads. Only negative with the combat really is the game has a really bad habit of spawning enemies behind you. Which unless you know they are there will almost guarantee you take a hit, which is an issue as the enemies deal a ton of damage. You get pseudo super powers as you cross further into the ship. With the stasis power being extremely powerful and something I found myself using for nearly every enemy encounter. You play in the third person camera angle which is great as the devs take full advantage of this by putting some of the HUD on your characters back, such as health bar and stasis meter. This was an incredible idea as it allows us to easily see our health bars and other meters without having to take our eyes away from the action. There is some resource management but you do get a ton of inventory space as you upgrade your suit, so much so I was able to carry four weapons, several stacks of ammo for each weapon and health packs. All while having room for anything I may pick up along the way to store in the store for later use. Dead Space is a game that starts out somewhat difficult but gets easier as you progress further into the game. This would vary with how much you explore and how you upgrade your weapons. Actual score of Dead Space is a 7/10, but lowered to a 6/10 because of EA being a garbage publisher that murdered Dead Space's original development studio. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Remake worth 60$? -Absolutely not

I played the first Dead space 1 just some years ago, and I didnt think this ever needed a remake. The original game is maybe the best horror game ever made for reasons that have been absolutely done to death. The plot, characters and graphics go closest to 10/10 this genre has to offer. Only few bugs come to mind that interrupted the perfect gamplay, such as in Chapter 4 start you go to the bridge and the tram tunnel is visibly glitching through if you look at the window on left side.

This remake should be reviewed like the Disneys new Lion king: Taking into account only the graphic and plot changes. That perspective completely fails in IGN and Gamespot reviews to mention some "official" reviews. I got a feeling most people played this game while never playing the original to be able to actually compare the versions and just slapped 9/10 in overall category. It´s got a good plot -just like in 2008. It has good horror atmosphere...just like in 2008. You see where im going?

Objectively I think this game deserves two different scores that are:
    Graphics changes 6/10
    Plot/character changes 3/10

First the graphics. The graphics are mostly excellent quality, there is no denying. The problem is that this is Rings of Power version of good as maybe you have a super stunningly looking project, but the cost-quality is just ridiculous. The price of this game is currently between 50-60$ which is almost as much rip-off as The last of us 1 remake, being as expensive that the damn game that already existed 15 years ago. And lets be real, when you were looking at Aegis VII from the bridge windows in 2008, I think hardly anyone had complains of the quality of graphics at the time. On the other side with this price tag im expecting some top-notch-quality but then theres things like Nicole Brennan. Why?? Nicole and Isaac Clarke are supposed to be in their 30s, like an ordinary couple trying to survive in this dystopia. Nicole looks in DS1 and DS: ingition pretty much the same, also in dead space comic book and in movie DS:Downfall the same visuals are still there. Then theres DS 2 that makes Nicole look like a distorted and creepy version of her which I can forgibe since she is just a hallusination screaming and trying to kill Isaac most of the game. In this remake version however Nicole looks like shes straight up 50 years old. Im not going to go deeper into this but the point is not all graphics look so fantastic. Maybe the joke was Isaac is into MILFs?

The plot changes. Oh boy where I even begin? Every major plot/character change in this game is done worse than original. The game succeeds best on the little details, like captain Matthius turning into necromorph or secret ending. The big changes gave me an impression they didnt want to go full Disney remake-mode here copying the exact same product twice to better graphics so they though the had to change a few things here and there. But as I said, these changes are not generally good. Like giving the 2 Kelion crewmates more importance than being just necroporph cannonfodder at the very beginning. In the original these 2 cremates (Chen and Johnston a.k.a mustache man) instalty die to necromorphs leaving Isaac, Kendra and Hammond to survive alone. This feeling of complete hopelesness and loneliness of the situation changes when interaction is enforced by 2 ways: making Chen the necromorph that just happens to be the one that infects USM Valor and just happens to be the one that end up killing Hammond. Like really? I have never shaken my head to deus ex machina in a video game this bad. The other change is completely turning the mustache man to a black woman for no apperent reason, pretty much the same style what they did with blue fairy in new Pinocchio. And I though Johnston had a bad fate when he gets mauled and decapitated in the original game. Being a 2020s game I could get more into detail how "wokeness" has infiltated this game in a few sneaky ways like making Kendra, a secret government agent and ruthless killer apparenly a lesbian or making the toilets fricking all-genders neutral with symbols in 2500s deep space mining vessel. But since this game is labelled as horror I can give it a pass.

    OVERALL CONCLUSION:
A new expensive remake that follows Disneys and The Last of us 1 remakes: the failure of sequels to beloved franchise result in milking the original project to death. Step in USG Ishimuras gender-neutral toilets as this new installment gives a surpise twists with Elizabets Cross and Zach Hammond, making your favorite characters die now more innovately that should be possible in 4K Ultra HD graphics.

Pause during the opening cutscene to take a call or delivery... but then come back to AI will T pose and you can't escape the opening. Even after patches this still exists.
If you reboot the game after dying from the first enemies, say you switch to another game or can't keep playing past the first few cutscenes. Rebooting the system will have you die while loading the game. YES while loading the game. You have a black screen showing the company logo, and the next thing you see after Dead space is your character dying. It loads your last save game when you boot but does not pause the AI! What??

AI can T pose later in the game too preventing you from moving on. It can be hours before it happens or even not at all, but remember to save! But don't save too often, if you fill up saves, you can't get New game plus after beating it?

Shop menus when exiting them can freeze. Requiring you to reboot the game. Do not press pause during the camera transition.

Enemies can spawn invisibly. Items required to progress the game may not spawn for you either. Not everyone has these issues, the game is bugged in a way that isn't completely reliable. So some people like me get it, everyone else doesn't and raves about the game.

You MUST on PS5 get the launch day patches. I think it's 2 patches in and the VRS quality makes the game look objectively bad - like they looked at it, knew something was wrong, and launched it anyway. I'm glad they fixed it launch weekend but why was it a thing to start . And their upscaling, I think their AMD upscaling makes the particle effects and dark scenes in a dark video game look terrible! It blurs all over the scene even with motion blur off, it's a "ghosting artifact". It can make people feel ill just by looking at it combined with the lighting in the game flicking tints of blue too. Quality mode is awful too since it butchers the frame rate to below 30 which makes this issue even more nauseous. That is not patched. so PS5 users should consider the PC version if this bothers or even makes you sick. Even the shop menus have little white dots appearing but they don't smear because it's stationary. The shops are in game so the upscaling hurts it

disappointed in this release so buggy for many people reporting the issues, they'll ignore them. not patching fast. Xbox Series X now has crashes for people post patch. I'm hearing stuttering on PC is terrible. not a single platform has the "best" version to play because they're all flawed? Go play Russian roulette with $80,

Disgraceful double dipping. $A109. For a game that is the same game just a reskin? Not a sequel but the same game just wrapped in a PS5 wrapper and being resold. $A20 is even asking way too much. Glad I bought Hogwarts at least it’s a new experience.

At first the game looks great , but unless your a low iq , goldfish brain the repetition in environments is going to be an issue..
The origional had personality. Every section was fleshed out with a mix of baked and dynamic lighting, there was specific themes and colour pallets to every part of the ship...That is all gone and the new game feels like a 10 hr demo ..That is not even to mention the new crappy puzzles they added that stretches the dull areas out further or the uglification of your wife who now look like a 60 year old dude that looses their crap if you don't call them ma'am.. Please don't touch dead space 2..That's the DS that is the true Masterpiece and needs to be left alone.

For the deliberate removal of the Russian language.Until they do Russian localization, I will buy all games from EA by hand. Let the full price be paid by those for whom the game was translated.

1080p resolution is a sad joke. Very weak textures. Price too high for such poor quality.

Woke garbage, removed any kind of difficulty from the game even on hard mode, they deviated from the original story to much, there is to much missing, its like they listened to the useless game journalists that cant play games and watered down the game, its not a remake, its a bastardization.

This game is a steaming pile of garbage. The greedy developers are charging $70 for a remake that is over 14 years old. Remember when remakes would cost less than the original? The campaign is too short. It lasts about 8-9 hours and it's linear with no multiplayer. The physics are beyond horrible. The story is garbage. The gameplay is boring and repetitive. The level design is trash. It's just corridor after corridor, meaning the outrageous price of $70 isn't justified since these lazy developers didn't had much work to do.

As I mentioned earlier, there's no multiplayer. So once you beat the campaign, there is literally not a reason to play this game again. Charging $70 for a game with no replay value is a cash grab. Yeah I get it, the original Dead Space had no multiplayer, but I have played multiple remakes that added multiplayer. EA are too cheap and greedy to add online. The only good thing in this game is graphics, but the graphics sacrificed the multiplayer and physics. $70 for half of the game is a joke, especially when it's extremely short. What am I suppose to do after beating the story, play the same boring trash again? I demand multiplayer. I don't recommend this game at all.

Awful graphics, awful controls, awful camera and bad theme. This is a pretty mediocre release in every way. Graphics are like welcome to 10 years ago. Were they blindfolded when making the camera? Main character is boring. Hopefully they dont remake the others

Expected more from this remake. It's not as scary as when I played 2008 DS. It looks like they lowered scary atmosphere and heavily reduced gore. This, a Horror Game, contains an Optional "innovative" Trigger Warning system that will warn the player about the Scary bits and blur them out.. in Dead Space! It's like playing a pokemon game that has a option to remove/blur all pokemons if youExpected more from this remake. It's not as scary as when I played 2008 DS. Ridiculous.. there's plenty of characters, scenes and dialogues have been changed in this game for no reason when all they had to do is just upgrade the graphic. Voice acting really feels awful and actors seem bored out of their mind while speaking. There's no emotion in their voice at all. Also they added a lot of cutscenes in this remake that was not in original. At times it feels like they made it more like a movie for some reason. Immersion is low, npc move like robots. It really does feel like a cash grab. Where they put low effort in this remake so they can cash it of a good will of origin game. It's ridiculous that they charge 70$ for a 15 years old gameplay and story. Heavily disappointed in this remake. Expand

    1 terrible optimization
2 Why was it necessary to change the models of heroes?
3, women in general aged, why how?
4, the facial animation took me back to the original

Pass, I picked up Callisto instead and I'm glad I did. Amazing game, challenging, great combat and amazing graphics and sound, oh and it was made by a new studio and original creators of this game. Pretty crappy that EA decided to put this out so close to the release of that game. Seems to me the negative reviews were planned out so this could succeed. It's not possible to rate this game good. This a "remake" according to Devs. I can accept that outline of the story is the same but i cant accept wood made animations same or almost the same like in the original (which were great at it's time), poor dialog, poor face animations, object collision detect problems, worse cameras movements, enemy damage detection problems.
    Sorry but a little

Sorry but a little better graphics (rally not important) is not worth a sacrifices. For me it is a weird remaster maybe but broken with many aspects at the same time.
I couldn't finish this game is a real torture. Original Dead Space is simple much better overall experience.

Game is good. Why is there no Russian language? Russian is spoken not only in Russia
Modern agendas are unacceptable and terrible. When the developers realize that they need to make just good games, without all these minorities

This stunning remake renews a brilliant horror adventure and manages to feel like one of the freshest games we've played in ages.

Isaac Clarke's original adventure is back in a new format, which has more depth in story and freedom in terms of gameplay. As a result, the game is recognizable, yet not the same which makes for a nice result. The game also has impressive graphics and the audio is unnervingly strong. That the game has some minor flaws we take for granted, because this horror adventure is recommended to everyone.
