    Massive and I mean a MASSIVE improvement over Cold War, which is one of my most hated Call of Duty games ever. Plays like Modern Warfare which contrary to popular belief is a good thing. Campaign is mediocre but fun, not bad by any stretch of the word. Stunning visuals, and a fun Multiplayer, though the shotguns desperately need a nerf. Zombies on the other hand is horrendous, paired withMassive and I mean a MASSIVE improvement over Cold War, which is one of my most hated Call of Duty games ever. Stunning visuals, and a fun Multiplayer, though the shotguns desperately need a nerf. Zombies on the other hand is horrendous, paired with the massive disappointment of CW last year, this game convinced me that I will never buy another Treyarch game until they get their act together. Sledgehammer really redeemed themselves this year and they deserve they praise. It's not as good as MW2019 but is a close competitor. In fact I think by the time the game is at the end of its life span it'll be BETTER than MW. Then we can move on to MWII.… Expand

    Was soll man zu Call of Duty sagen? Es ist eben Call of Duty. Die Kampagne ist grundsätzlich gut inszeniert und der Multiplayer lässt sich auch gut spielen. Es ist weder das beste noch das schlechteste Call of Duty.

    First of all I’m not a fan of the franchise, I played almost any Cod and Battlefield.

    I don’ t understand why people review a MULTIPLAYER game based of the campaign…who gives a **** for campaign?! To give 1 or 2 based on that is childish.

    The game is fine…some bugs and that s it. It is not unplayeable…it s fun…just like any cod…a lot s of maps at launch, guns, etc…

    Zombies mode is terrible and multiplayer is the same rubbish.

    Why buy and play this when you could play Battlefield 5 or keep playing Black Ops?

    I would rate MP in the following order:
    - MW 2019
    - CW --- - VG (this) In general - this is the worst MP experience i have had in call of duty. Bad sounds, awful graphics, no weapon balance, terrible map design, a lot of broken stuff like spawn points etc. They somehow managed to fail shipment map(sic!) Game in general - bad, Sledgehammer games just cannot make Call of Duty Game.    I would rate MP in the following order:

    Personally, I didn't like Cold War. It was boring, and it lacked innovation. I see a lot of people saying the same thing about Vanguard, but I disagree. For starters, I love how you can choose your combat pacing. For those unaware, Vanguard has a setting where you can choose how many people you want in your games. This brings the life back to Vanguard. If you're playing tactical(thePersonally, I didn't like Cold War. It was boring, and it lacked innovation. I see a lot of people saying the same thing about Vanguard, but I disagree. For starters, I love how you can choose your combat pacing. For those unaware, Vanguard has a setting where you can choose how many people you want in your games. This brings the life back to Vanguard. If you're playing tactical(the slowest paced setting) and you're getting bored, you can always switch to assault(medium-paced) or blitz(fast-paced). This helps the game from becoming stale and boring like Cold War. Also, this is one of the first times in a COD where the amount of players in a certain map varies from map to map. This is definitely a step in the right direction because I never liked how huge maps like Euphrates Bridge would have the same amount of players as Shipment or Shoot House. It just didn't make sense, and I'm surprised it took Activision this long to fix this. Well, at least they did fix it, and the game is much better for it. Also, I'm really enjoying how guns can hold 10 attachments as opposed to the traditional 5. It allows for much more customization, and I'm here for that. As for the graphics, they are incredible. Especially people's faces. They look real. I find myself staring into these characters' faces for hours at a time, trying to find something that doesn't look real, but there's nothing. Don't ask me about Zombies. It sucks ass, but that's not what this review is about. Some dev at Activision took CW's Zombies and pasted it into Vanguard. If you want Zombies, PLEASE don't buy this game. The Campaign? Eh. Nothing much to say about it. More of the same. Too short. I buy COD for MP, so this review is mainly about Vanguard's MP.… Expand

    like 70% of the negative reviews are just negative reviews with no actual basis as to why it's negative.

    the game is fun, i enjoy it alot. The gunsmith is weird but fun, to see how you can change guns into monstrosities. I think most of the people that leave the negative reviews are just bad at the game smh.

    Call of Duty Vanguard is mostly just a rerelease of Sledgehammer Games' previous game Call of Duty: WW2, and it lacks lots of innovation. Firstly, it removes the shooting range from the previous game which makes no sense whatsoever. Secondly, it makes SBMM stronger than ever before, and the campaign is simply historically incorrect, but also for people who are "woke". Being "woke" isCall of Duty Vanguard is mostly just a rerelease of Sledgehammer Games' previous game Call of Duty: WW2, and it lacks lots of innovation. Half of the operators are women which is absolutely ludicrous given WW2 was mostly fought by men. The zombies mode is the worst in history by simply using the multiplayer maps as the zombies part. Really lazy work in that area. Honestly, there isn't too much good stuff to say about this game. The multiplayer is, however, the game's strongest area out of the three, but the campaign is just historically wrong, and if they want females in the game as 50% of the campaign, then don't try to overwrite history.     The game is very bad. The weapon balance is worse and the mapdesign terrible. It's like the same game every year. But why? I think they want the game to be beginner friendly. But with sbmm, hm. i don't think that they can patch the game the way that is shoult be.

The new mode patrol I thought was a cool addition. Gun's are varied and killstreak's are cool. Time to kill is ridiculously fast and very twitch like. Nor will any call of duty in the future unless they focus on immersing you in the battlefield as an solder instead of forcing present day political agendas.     This review is for the campaign only and that's all I play with COD. AMAZING!!! At last COD came out with a solid campaign with a great story. Epic locations for the story and they play out with "Wow" factor. Graphics are the best "Over the Top" for a COD campaign I have seen in years. The PS5 just makes this game play like a full movie and depth that has been put into this is on so manyThis review is for the campaign only and that's all I play with COD. AMAZING!!! That's right people get the game without the GAME. It's a separate download once you've probably copied the disc then downloaded the most recent update. This gets 2 points knocked off.

    So the 10's i see here, either tell me they're playing a digital version or they're fake reviews. Because this leads onto the important question why wasn't this just released a stand alone campaign? £24.99. It would lose them a lot of money, but it'd be the sensible thing to do for people who don't wanna play the multiplayer and the "zombies". Don't worry since this trick was pulled with the previous COD and i knew it'd happen again. I'm not giving them money, this is from boomerang rentals.

    So you've downloaded the campaign, can you play? no I'm sorry it's not all in one download, you have to download each pack before you can even start to play the campaign (I'm not kidding). So it loses another point.

    So you start in 1945, yes it's one of those games trying to be clever but failing it because we've seen plenty of media formats copy the same thing. I half expected a record to be scratched somewhere in this half hearted attempt for a first level. Lots of rain and a little buggy I had almost all my allied soldiers avoid shooting the Germans. As i stood on the train being shot at, I realised it was from the other train just behind where my allies were standing looking forward ignoring the German firing. I back tracked and sure enough 2 feet behind my allies a German soldier was firing at me. Not at them. Hilarious stuff. Yes this is the obligatory train level, so generic it only highlights what you're about to experience.

    Graphically it doesn't really stand out. Nothing that again made me think "I'm glad I have a PS5 for this". The sound seems copied from the previous COD game set in WW2 (2017). I wouldn't even be surprised if that was the case. honestly. Also like Aloy, if you spot yellow you can climb it.

    Can it be any more generic, yes. actually. Your first mission, as I've said is from 1945 and you're joined up with mix of various nationalities from Australians to Russians. Which is mostly just fantasy. Although the SOE did exist (so something factual still finds its way there). None of the characters are interesting; they're walking stereotypes. They even throw in racial slurs and to be honest it's just cringeworthy. They were probably going for "bold" and "insightful" but it feels tacky. it all feels forced (like a Russian in the SOE; pure fantasy). There's also 2 British soldiers among the 6, and you know that's not going to last. diversity laws and all. I'd have liked another female (French resistance) that'd have made more sense.

    Just always surprises me that you are all captured, and then the game follows the same tropes (back in time we go record scratches freeze frame).. the same formula (whether it's taking guns on a cliff face, or taking pillboxes on a ridge). There's nothing innovative here, nothing ground breaking. It's a shame. A lot of it is so disjointed and badly written. Honestly the caricature Nazi's should not have fallen for the terrible acting they do. It feels like a 12 year old wrote it for creative writing homework. You can tell Americans wrote it, the Australian uses "British" during "acting" when they mean the English. Scots and Irish shake their heads. Master - servant huh

    I can talk about the terrible implementation for example during the battle of midway as you're dealing with Japanese aircraft, if you go anymore than 100 metres away from a specific area you get the warning "return to mission" as a Japanese plane passes you by going towards that area. There's just so much technically and fundamentally wrong, it fails as a single player ww2 experience. Learn all these things about the plane which you'll never use. Hell EA's star wars squadrons did it better than this... attempt. But hey you wanna play a game where you can magically avoid all battleship gunfire and make 20 enemy planes disappear, just fly into the clouds. Don't worry more magically appear several miles later. The realism is off the scale (if you get a belly wound [cutscene] it doesn't magically heal). just drama for the sake of badly written cutscene worthy of a razzie award. (It also doesn't give you supernatural "focus" abilities! but sure enough in this game; it does! i feel every anime blushing at this nonsense)

    COD now feels stale. If you're just playing the campaign do not pay for this. Just rent it or borrow it or something. And unless you really like Zombies and Multiplayer that you can't get from a previous COD game or the current version. It's not worthy of your time.

The actual narrative and cosmetic content of the game is a disgrace to any event that may have occurred in real life. The characters have no British representation to slap the face of three million soldiers, four hundred thousand dead, and seventy thousand civilian casualties. The campaign basically says all sorts of war crimes are fine because Nazi's are less than human which is a little ironic in my opinion. Finally gun customization says **** it to actual firearms mechanics and devices that customization only need to look cool and not be theoretically functional.… Expand

It is also very difficult to upgrade weapons as well, since I am a zombie lover. I did not like it at all and was not expected, it is very bad. There is no story or anything else besides insulting you For the religion of Islam, this is disgusting, playlists and others are good. The game deserves a rating of 6 or less… Expand

    Great old school feel cod game. Campaign is maybe a bit lacking but still found it immersive, multiplayer is fast paced with a low ttk which suited my play style. Zombies was never a massive pull for me to cod games with the exception maybe of black ops and waw so I can’t score the game on that basis,

    I've been playing for a few days since I bought it. Pretty solid game! the guns feel punchy and satisfying. much fewer glitches and bugs compared to the beta version, a downside would be the single-player story is too short.

    Even when COD is same every year they managed to make worst COD ever! Bad visibility make game campery only, terrible spawn points and pointless kill streak spamming make this game really annoying. Adding forgetable campaign and bad instance of zombies make it even worse :(

    Honestly loving this cod right now, the campaign was really good, a bit short but it was amazing. I’m really liking the fast paced multiplayer. and I think the zombies will be good when they add normal maps

    I think in general the game is good, the campaign is good, but talking about the multiplayer, there are some problems, I think the major problem are the spawn ones, and some overpowered guns, but in general I have fun playing it and it has a lot of content.

    Call Of Duty: Vanguard is still a great game. The singleplayer is amazing. The multiplayer is really well done and is still lot of fun after the first 11 hours. The game is already a cool Christmas present. This year Christmas came just a little earlier.

    The zombie mode is not that good (only three levels so far). But if you can live without it (or there might be more levels in the    Call Of Duty: Vanguard is still a great game.     First of all. The game Looks nice and if you want to play online multiplayer it's fun.
    Every other player will be disappointed. --No split-screen zombie Mode.
    -No Koop-campaign.
    I don't know why they have cancelled the split-screen Feature it's just disappointing, what the brand has become.

Vnguard sets out to tell a story of war heroes during world war 2, similar to the battlefield 1 campaign, youll go through each characters stories and it isn’t all just run and gun, there are some amazingly immersive moments here, great stealth sections through a forest, a section where youre a sniper, there are horror like moments keeping you on your toes as you go through buildings, did I love the characters themselves? Not so much, none were memorable to me, but I do appreciate the attempt to flesh them out, to create a series that players can look forward to.. the campaign again isn’t the best, but I did appreciate the effort here.. I appreciate the variety how each of thse 6 hours felt different…
    And onto the multiplayer, first off, lets just skip over zombies, I don’t like zombis I never have and Ive heard this year is the worst yet, si I hopped right into multiplayer.. The multiplayer this time is pretty bare bones, but hey.. I actually like that.. I like the simplicity of pick a load out, use that gun to level it up, go through the typial team deathc match, capture the flag, search and destroy modes.. however the gunplay just isn’t fun for me this year, the maps are pretty bland as well.. I did have an enjoyable few hours with multiplayer but after a weekend of play times, there wasn’t enough to hook me in like past titles have..
    Call of Duty anguard is a great call of duty game..
    Will it quickly b forgotten the moment the next shiny multplayer shows up? Yes, this will not be a staple in your multiplayer collection, but for the time I spent with it, its pretty solid, especially the single player campaign,

    Vanguard could have been a good game, but lags, packet burst & dev error 5573 make it frustrating to play! The Story is too short. But the worst part is, there is no RB Zombies and no Easter Egg! Very very disappointing! 80€ for an unfinished game. Definetly too much! Im done!

Campaign is short but intense, multiplayer is a mix of Modern Warfare 2019 and CoD World at War which is perfect since I really liked MW 2019 and World at War is my all time favorite game in the franchise :D I don't know what to say about zombies, I'm not a big fan of the game mode

This games a joke. The multiplayer I find enjoyable and quite fun. Until you get your cheeks clapped and pummeled by the STG-44 with vital. Or the 2 shot kill BAR. The time to die is let alone cheeks but then you allow a 2 shot kill gun no way. I've tried not using meta I played 2 weeks in with the LMG42 and had a positive kd (1 .14). And was having fun but did not enjoy getting clapped by low levels in 1v1 situations by a gun who fist pumped me to the other side of the moon with VITAL. They've lowered the skill gap to let your casual player have more fun while also punishing the experienced player who's put time day by day hour to hour grinding the game. The multiplayer would be good if they just removed vital. That would make the guns balanced. AND THE WORST OF THE WORST ZOMBIES OMG THE ZOMBIES.

    All I'm going to say is I'm absolutely devastated. Zombies was the thing to get on after you got bored of multiplayer then get back on multiplayer as a fun rotation cycle. But the zombies this year was just boring no Easter egg, no wonder weapon, no packer-punch camo skin. Like come on wtf COD. AND JUST MAP AT LAUNCH, NO ROUNDBASED MAPS. I've played it multiple times to force my self to like it. But just experience dread and pain as the other zombies players in our public matches. The only time I have fun playing this game is hearing others complain about zombies in my match. And how there only playing to use the camos on multiplayer.

    To sum it up this game is a let down. I had hope but that hope soon turned to BUTCHEEKS STG-44 VITAL PUMMELING.    … Expand

The Multi-player is boring. Maps are repetitive, zombies Is an absolute joke. Do not waste any money on this trash. I'm so happy I got a refund.

    This is a solid multiplayer game. It’s a cross between MW(2019) and WAW with a little punkish alt history vibe. The gameplay is fast and fluid, weapons are absurd but fun. Overall a pretty decent title in the COD library. There are a few bugs you’ll occasionally run into, but if fast arcade PVP FPS games are your thing it’s a good time.

    Call of Duty: Vanguard is a great Call of Duty entry with absolutely stellar ser pieces, fantastic visuals, and plenty of modes surrounding an excellently fun campaign. The only downsides are the muddied stories… not to mention what is happening in the company that published it. Highly recommended for CoD fans and people looking for a bit of mindless fun set in WW2.
