    I remember the first COD I played was Black OPS 2.
    That was a great game in many ways in its time.
    This however is a rushed version that has nothing much to offer for players who wants to play local or offline. You are being pushed/forced to play online to make it worth while. The interface is horrible too and it feels like every time I log in, the battle pass gets shoved into my face.    I remember the first COD I played was Black OPS 2.

    Graphics is worse than RE7 released in 2017, can't enjoy the story either, because it keeps crashing (on PS5). Absolute waste of money.

    I cannot think a way that this game has surpassed 2009’s MW2. Does not live to the hype, dull campaign with low variety of locations and multiplayer feels like a step back in numerous ways. Perks are a mess, weapons dele underpowered, recoil is through the roof.. even the weapons names.. feels like a CoD knock-off.     The Call of Duty series peaked in 2009-2011, and it has been downhill since. 2019’s has been the best CoD since then and is still the best to play right now.    … Expand

    I feel like this game is promoting the campers too much.
    I dont enjoy it no more, these development teams lay focus on profit for making new people to play this game. But the time was never better for the best call of duty to come out. Sbmm, camping, pre-aim, Headglich etc. I will never buy bo COD again, sad.

    Doesn't compare with mw 2019 at all , worst system to unlock new weapons , the maps are one of worst I played on. Then you get **** from every camping sniper kid "thinking that he is good at shooting". The warzone 2.0 is coming and the mw mp will die exactly like mw 2019 did , they are just concentrating towards warzone and not the classic cod anymore.

    I don't mean to be insulting, but I'm just frustrated with this entire franchise anymore. Once again a CoD, which steals my very last nerve because you have to sweat for your honor in multiplayer.

    - SBMM (Skill Based Matchmaking) is once again extremely strong and you get into lobbies with only "equally strong" players. This makes virtually every match feel almost the same because SBMM rarely gets you into a round where you can really go off. This takes away from the fun factor and also has nothing to do with CoD for a long time.
    This game is NOT a competitive online game like Valorant and co., yet Activision tries to turn CoD into one. As an excuse for it, you don't want to "scare off" the newbies directly by good players, hence the SBMM, so that you just can't get into a round with exactly such noobs. Rarely heard such a nonsense.

    - What I find almost worse than SBMM is the ungodly short TTK, so Time-To-Kill. It doesn't take half a second until you or your opponent is down. You have no chance to react if you get shot from somewhere, because you are instantly dead. No normal human has such a good reaction time to be able to react to something like that. The TTK is total **** and I really want to know what the developers were thinking.

    - Because of this extremely modest TTK, aggressive playing (e.g. my playing style) is punished all the more harshly. You have almost no chance to react in time to an opponent when you run/move. At the same time, it encourages campers and almost the entire lobby just starts waiting somewhere instead of moving through the damn map. Please, what kind of **** is this?

    - This spasmodic realism since MW2019 gets on my nerves as well. The extreme realism was upped another notch in MW2 compared to its predecessor - and by god, realism and CoD are things that do NOT **** go together. Take a look at the essays: There are heaps of them, especially for the sights. Plus ultra detailed descriptions instead of simple ads about the pros and cons of the different attachments. Who on earth takes the time to read through all that and then select the appropriate attachments?

    - I don't have to say much about the maps. You just notice that they were once again designed only for campers and worse players, because you can headglitch and camp almost everywhere, so that the noobs can get some kills. This simple "three-way-system" doesn't exist anymore, instead the maps are extremely twisted and complicated, windows and doors everywhere and so on. What a disaster.

    Other points that upset me (and probably many others):

    - Where is the map voting please? NO ONE wants to play on the map with all the cars.
    - Why the hell don't you stay in the lobby after the round?
    - Why is it now so easy to get a gold camouflage for example? So that the noobs can also get a gold camouflage or what?
    - Where can you see your stats (KDA, Wins, etc.)? Did Activision remove this so that the noobs don't see how bad they are?
    - Why are there so many bugs that didn't even exist in the beta? Why the hell are you releasing an unfinished game?!
    - Who came up with these names for the weapons, please? "Lachmann", seriously?
    - Why are there hackers in this game NOW? Is your anti-cheat system really that garbage?
    - Which one of you programmed the spawn system? This is an impudence.
    - Why did you weaken the movement so much? Oh yes, so that the noobs are still protected.
    - The menu and the entire interface is an imposition.
    - The visibility in this CoD is just bad, you can't see anything.
    - Why is dead silence still not available as a perk?
    - Speaking of perks, the new perk system was a pretty modest idea.

    I think I've been upset enough up to this point. The only good thing about this game is the campaign, which is unfortunately very short. I can safely advise you against the multiplayer. Do yourself a favor and invest the 80-90€ somewhere else. As long as you support Activision with your money, nothing at all will change in Call of Duty and they will continue to enforce their damn ideology, just to "protect" some family men in their mid-40s, who rarely had a controller in their hands. Nothing new apart from 3 spec ops missions that can be completed ✔️ n under an hour for all 3 .     Skill Based Matchmaking (SBMM) Has ruined Multiplayer Gaming.
    SBMM in Ranked is fine. Because, thats LITERALLY what ranked is. but whats the point of adding a ranked mode if CASUAL IS RANKED?

    Solution: Casual and Ranked mode exists, casual should be CASUAL and have no sbmm and ranked should be ranked, because ranked. is. literally. sbmm. Skill based matchmaking IS RANKED.

    These game has too much issues that made it unplayable for my side, the first issue, when i look right or left it will take 1sec to look even though mu custom is 7 I tried everything to fix it I also deleted the game and redownload it again still the issue there. Shoot first die first still a thing, go from running at least I say two good games before you're put into a lobby of sweats and or campers. Damage is inconsistent as hell. Go from one hard-core game where you kill them in a shot or two to the next game where you get hitmarkers out the ass and takes two to three shots to the head to kill them in hard-core. Respawning is ridiculously broken. Can't count how many times I've spawned in front of enemy fire. The lag is like Cod trademark. No matter how good of a connection I have the servers are crap. That Crossing bridge map is literally the worst Cod map ever made. Just on a bridge full of empty cars that constantly explode on you and an ally on the side is the best they could do? What about the other maps that were on the old mw2? Map voting? The game has crashed on me several times while in a lobby or while playing. This game is not close to being worth $70. Huge ripoff.     The campaign is good.
    Warzone is awful.
    And multiplayer is ok. The game also lacks any content and most of the content they label as "new" was already there in MW2019 so its not new your reusing content and labeling it as "new".

But going from middle of the score board one game to bottom of the score board where the top player on the enemy team is getting 50+ kills? That's a problem.     Garbage game. Waste of money. First the installation. We paid big money for it, couldn't they come with 2 Blu-ray discs so we wouldn't have to download huge updates just to play the campaign. Every year cod do like that to prevent friend borrow game. Secondly, come on, graphics like the same, at least jump to VR for God sakes

    4/10: A sequel to another propaganda game.
    To keep up with neoliberal revisionist ideology - this time bad mouths Iran, as if Iran has no reason to be upset, let alone retaliate because the "US EMPIRE" assassinated Qassem Soleimani.

    Campaign: Starts out fairly weak with the assassination of "Soleimani" character by the Imperial colonizers UK + US EMPIRE, then turns into Ghost Recon Wildlands and the Sicario movie and gradually becomes illogical throughout.

    The premise of the missiles being a threat is watered down because they're just normal HIMARS missiles in shipping containers. There isn't anything of massive tension, let alone concern with these missiles.

    Keeping up with revisionist tradition like MW I had, the opening scene with the cruise missile is implied to be hypersonic BUT the US have failed every hypersonic missile test to date. They do not have that technology.

    Characters: You basically play as Gaz and Soap throughout the game. (Rodolfo, Ghost, and Shadow Company are negligible because their characters are never really fleshed out, or are just one time use throwaway missions for plot)

    Supporting cast: Valeria is by far the best character in this entry. Perfectly cast and acted flawlessly.
    Hassan is an okay character initially, he is marred by bad writing, any sense of logic is thrown away and only exists for post-game plot. (i.e: the Al Qatala invasion of Mexico+US)

    Diego is here for a moment and gone the next. (Kind of irrelevant sicario to Valeria)

    Kate Laswell is now a 'lesbian tokenism checklist' character with a awful in-game character model, still is the enemy (CIA), has some actual field work, but doesn't really do all that much.

    Farah is a Xenophobic character that everyone seems to forget she's been designated as a terrorist.

    Nikolai's story/plot/writing claims he's a "Russian patriot"... but he works with the Imperialist enemy & Farah which hates all Russians - a patriot would not do these things.

    Coop has some design flaws - you have to pick a 'kit' (Assault/Medic/Recon) to use before you even matchmake, so you could end up picking the same kit with whoever you get matched with and then you're at a disadvantage, and you are unable to see your team mate's kit, nor able to change it after the match starts.

    Multiplayer is a different can of worms. It does promote movement in most maps (except Crown Raceway and Taraq), but the overall feel is endless running eSport twitch shooter, and devoid of actual "war", most maps are sterile environments that don't have a uniform vision (unlike MW I 2019) and much like the initial concern over how the beta testing periods felt very unpolished, the "full game" is an extension of the beta and is nowhere near finished nor polished enough to warrant a release.

    The game is filled with ungodly bugs up the yin yang, the UI is atrocious and SBMM has suked all the life out of the franchise and is here to stay even if people don't want it.

    Regarding the overall incomplete state of the release - to compare to MW I (2019) that game was miles ahead and felt finished upon release.

    There is still no way to choose a crossplay via peripherals. I still do not want to play against mouse-toting superior aim cheaters regardless of platform. It is not fun to do so.

    This is an embarrassment of a game. I hate the fact that Activision was horrible enough to not include ANYTHING on the disc!! This needs to stop and be called out because it's a total disrespect to the consumer and the medium of video games. I want to own, NOT RENT!!!!

    The unlock system is a complete desaster. You have to play a bunch of random guns you don't like to unlock everything for a weapon you actually want to use. And now with season 1 one of the guns they added is only unlockable by playing a warzone mode you have to install separately. **** ****

    The UI is still horrible to use and has too many glitches to count.

    In a match whole swathes of level geometry just vanish for seconds at a time. Sometimes you can't use killstreaks anymore starting in the middle of a match.

    IW has done almost nothing to fix all those issues, it's gonna take a year until it's playable from a pure technical standpoint.

    TLDR: Horrible hitreg, netcode delay, flashbang, short TTK, long ADS time, long sprint out, riot shields, cluster mines, ledge hangs, bugged damage, bugged aim assist, awful unlock system, new weapons locked in different games, **** bugged UI. Is that an excuse for using the money we spend on "the best selling cod" entirely on Warzone and tossing the MP lads ONE decent map?

    Game full of AI and there isn't a single mode you can play alone. Spec ops is terrible anyway. Limiting it to 2 players...game's not even balanced to recognize if the other player leaves, it's a mess lacking a lot of thought. Doubtful we ever see any meaningful updates beyond Raids, which, by definition, are NOT actual raids.

    DMZ is a gimmick. I'm sure there's a small crowd enjoying it, somehow, but my friends all share this opinion...No real reward for playing, it's repetitive, and after a few runs you're left wondering what it is you're actually trying to accomplish, or why you're even bothering with it instead of playing any other mode. Compared to other Dark Zones or alike games it just lacks any momentum of it's own. Probably would have been better as just a PvE mode. Once again, funded by our purchases of the full game.

    Look, it's good to explore new modes and try to build on, but make sure the core of what keeps people coming back is fully intact first. These MP mode variants have been down right abysmal. I like objective based modes so I try them all at least twice, and good lord not a single one of these playlists has been worth playing. The control points or hardpoint locations on some of these maps boggle ones mind as to the placement. Thank god for the map pool in ranked because a lot of these maps are self-admitted unbalanced. Which makes most casual play just a literal joke. Overall, I'm disappointed. Way too big of an investment to be left with so little to actually do. It SEEMS like there's SO many modes and things for you to try, when there is LESS campaign, LESS multiplayer, and LESS co-op than ever before in an IW game. Cold War makes this game look barebones, and deservedly so. Save your cash, play Warzone if you must...and drop to you knees with me and pray that Treyarch has enough time and legit kills it in 2024.

    Make Call of Duty so good we get another Easter Eggs for Charity event. That's the world I want to live in. Make Zombies so good even Liam Winter himself returns to Zombies. #BRINGBACKEE4C    … Expand

    Modern scopes don't have glint. Might as well shoot nerf darts and this game would be just as realistic.Double expierence tokens should only count down during in match time. This all feels lesser.

    Usually, sequels are set up by the previous titles. But in MW II, the story is being set up in a prologue. 10 years ago we killed a baddie, so the antagonist wants to take a revenge. Too bad Al-Asad was left out for lousy MW I spec ops. And Zakhaev was killed in a Warzone cutscene. The new villain, Hassan, is not interesting.

    I’d much appreciate Farah’s brother who became a terrorist. That would be a great material for a misunderstood villain. All we know is that he was captured by CIA and that’s it lol. By the way, I cringed so hard when they let Hassan go.

    I understand that the sequel didn’t want to continue the “occupation war” theme. So instead, they went with a corruption theme. Modern warfare is just about corrupt cops and army, so we fight cartel. This felt more like Battlefield Hardline as I had to chase a freaking mexican gang. I liked the first part for its “spec ops: the line” vibes. While replaying, Farah’s mission has deeply resonated with me because of the Russian war against Ukraine. The new game doesn’t care about that anymore.

    I’ve also noticed that the game was trying to jump into different genres. There was a car chase mission that borrowed a lot from Uncharted. And then 1.5 missions with crafting features out of nowhere. That was odd! But when the series become repetitive, I suppose it’s no wonder the devs want to try something else.

    And what’s up with the ghost team? The ads seemed like we’d see ghost team in more action. And Farah was supposed to be a part of it! What we got was a 1-time mission for the ghost team. Somehow, at the end of that mission, no one wore the ghost masks anymore. That was very raw.

    Overall, I feel disappointed. I know that I shouldn’t bother because it’s just a COD 2K22. But the “modern warfare” games captured the best of my teenage years. That’s why I wanted the reboot to be just as good. I am a MW2 (2009) sucker!    … Expand

    I would give the original MW2 a 9/10. This remake deserves a 0/10. I can't say the word enough - GARBAGE. Absolute TRASH. Avoid this game at all costs, as it will leave you feeling robbed of your time and money.

To date they haven't managed to fix the quest bar for the daylies or the number of tokens for the season pass. You can nerf a skin in one day. Shame on you!

    Game is still plagued with bugs that were in beta. UI design is criminal. Lack of content, support and bug fixes while the free warzone client explodes with content updates and support. I returned to COD after a decade on a whim and it's exactly what I thought it would be. I do not recommend spending a single dollar on anything COD, because you are not valued as a paying customer at all.

    proximity mines are broken and are effortless kills and activision wont change it. camo grind is easy. graphics are great but fps is 35^% lower than mw2019 on same settings with my 3090, gonna be a pain on people below 20 series gpus.     Inifinity Ward used to be my favourite FPS developers. How they managed to distribute this half finished joke of a multiplayer mode is beyond me. Apart from the fact they’ve completely changed things that worked just fine before (perk packages????) they’ve also managed to put out one of the worst UI I have seen ever. The whole experience is such a downgrade from Modern Warfare 2019 and aInifinity Ward used to be my favourite FPS developers. The controller OFFICIALLY has AIMHACK and PC players have to play with console players with aim assist like AIMHACK, but console players can turn this option off whenever they want.     - The graphics are nice.

    - The campaign is decent if you can get through it without crashing (spoiler: you won't).

    - The gunplay and gun selection is decent.

    Cons: Literally everything else.

    - It's a buggy mess that crashes constantly.

    - The UI is atrocious. It's impossible to find anything in the menus. You can't even check your win/loss or K/D. Sometimes the menus just outright break and you need to restart the game to fix them. The social tab doesn't update sometimes so you can't report or block players because they don't appear in the post game. The list goes on with how garbage the it is. The in-game UI is mostly okay except for the stupid compass. What a useless piece of garbage and just poor game design.

    - Matchmaking is barely functional. It sometimes just outright breaks if you are in a party, and need to break the party to fix it. Cross-play is absolute garbage. No option to not play with console kiddies. To try and "balance" (and I mean completely break the game) the devs thought cranking up Aim Assist for console players was the appropriate option. No clue why considering the Aim Assist is no better than soft aim bots, where console players literally don't have to aim. The game does it for them.

    - The customization. Look, I get it customization is nice and all but this is too much. The progression system for weapons and attachments is completely unintuitive and frankly just stupid. It's overly complicated for no good reason. Why are you forcing people to use completely unrelated guns to unlock a different gun. It just makes no sense.

    - The multiplayer maps are awful. They are pretty to look at, but that's it. They are not well designed and the real deal breaker is the horrific spawns. I cannot count the number of times I've spawned facing an enemy or spawned with any enemy facing me (or vice versa). That's just poor game design. No one should spawn into the game with someone already shooting them from behind. Another thing that clearly no one had enough of a brain at Activision-Blizzard to consider.

    - The price. $70 is a steep ask for a game that is quite frankly barely functional. It's embarrassing. There's such a lack of polish on everything but VA and graphics (and there are still graphical bugs pretty consistently). I know Activision Blizzard doesn't believe in paying for QA, but maybe next time they should invest a little money it in, because they served us up a steaming pile of garbage that should have been delayed based on how it plays right now.    … Expand

    Skill Based Match Making has destroyed the online experience. The core build of the game is great, however, due to the blatant and obnoxious SBMM I have had ZERO enjoyment playing this game. And since Activision is too greedy to address this, the game will offer you nothing more than increasing your blood pressure. Aujourd’hui j’ai un bug qui déconnecte ma box internet quand je me connecte au jeu, c’est juste lunaire.     This is the least fun and worst call of duty game ever made. First of all the maps are so incredibly bad, each map has at least 20 windows to camp behind and 40 corners for campers. This is probably the most skilless game i have ever played cause of all the campers and if you combine that with skill based matchmaking you get a horrible game. Footsteps are louder than ever, no red dots on the minimap which also promotes camping even more and combine that with the horrible maps and you get the best attempt at making the worst game i have ever played next to some mobile games. The developers clearly spent all their time and effort on the campaign and nothing else. The only gamemode that can be even slightly fun is ground war, but all of the other gamemodes are filled with prone campers with mines and no girlfriend. The developers never listen to the community and are only focussed on money. This game should have been for how bad and unfinished it actually is. The game is so unfinished because there are only around 10 gamemodes in total with 14 maps and out of those maps you only have 4 maps that are actually decent. There isnt even a hardcore playlist and gunfight, which is my favorite gamemode is also not in the game. There isnt even a combat record so now no one can show off how much they played or how many nukes they have. I have a ps5 and the game has already crashed on me 22 times, how is that even possible? I only have 40 hours on the game and i already came across 25 hackers, is there even an anti cheat? The time to kill is already as fast as the average person can blink, but if you get a headshot you can usually kill someone in 1-2 shots with almost any gun. The only good thing about the game is the graphics, but no one cares about graphics when the game itself is trash. Compared to vanguarbage, this game is somehow even worse.… Expand

    Make‘s no fun anymore. They changed this game to a slow and camper friendly game. Every round i play feels the same. This game isn’t worth that money.

    Let's be honest, there's really no bigger title to compete in the FPS genre at the moment, both in terms of the sometimes mediocre content and this year's very polished graphics. [Issue#324]

    A somewhat droll campaign will greet players of Modern Warfare II. It's a short bombastic romp with some fun gunplay moments and fantastic graphics. The multiplayer, however, is a miss as it is no longer a properly combined entity and the lack of replayability is disappointing. A recommendation for CoD fans but for anyone even slightly on the fence perhaps keep shopping or waiting for a sale.

    CoD MW 2 is a refreshing single-player experience, providing players with some of the best action-packed moments and great characters, but riddled with multiplayer balancing issues and extreme performance and technical problems. It still is CoD and is fun for anyone who finds its casual shooting gameplay compelling, but it plays safely and doesn’t present itself as something revolutionary for the franchise.
