    One of the best COD's since 2009, very good graphics, shooting feels fun, solid single player campaign. Miles better than Halo Infinite and Battlefail2021.

    It’s 2022 and we finally have the sequel to modern warfare labeled as Modern Warfare II not to confuse the original masterpiece from 2009, and as you can expect – it is an improvement, but it is not hard to improve on garbage. Modern Warfare II is pretty in terms of stylistic realism, loud in terms of outstanding sound design, and ferocious in terms of gameplay. To start this off, theIt’s 2022 and we finally have the sequel to modern warfare labeled as Modern Warfare II not to confuse the original masterpiece from 2009, and as you can expect – it is an improvement, but it is not hard to improve on garbage. Modern Warfare II is pretty in terms of stylistic realism, loud in terms of outstanding sound design, and ferocious in terms of gameplay. To start this off, the campaign is a bigger improvement over its predecessor as the story was quite a bit longer than the original. The things I was very impressed with is blending the war on drugs in Mexico inspired by Denis Villeneuve’s Sicario and nuclear warfare theme that made my walkthrough quite engaging where I did not expect this narrative to be so good. The old characters are back and brought back more depth and personality to the sequel and the introduction of the new characters like Alejandro and Valeria are a nice touch that added a unique flare in this installment. Is this the best campaign compared to the original Modern Warfare 2? No, but it is certainly fun in its own way. Level design in general is great, but not perfect compared to clean house from Modern Warfare. The villain in the game is bland and lack motivation just like Barkov. And General Shepherd, well he’s still General Shepherd. If I was honest, it is better than Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard by a mile. Now, there goes the pipebomb, MWII multiplayer is a big chaotic mess in terms of launch day content, ugly eyesore mobile-like UI, gameplay breaking GTA Definitive Edition-like bugs/glitches, and uninspired map design especially Border Crossing became a meme at launch. I honestly had difficulty playing the game as the game felt even more aggressive than the predecessor and less rewarding. And of course, special ops is mediocre at its finest but more aggressive to the point where I lose interest playing the co-op mode as enemies wear armor just like in the campaign. It is honestly a darn shame that most video game developers in the industry right now rely on updating the game monthly instead of completing the entire game before launch following Epic Games’ steps from Fortnite. It is like we offered cheese pizza instead of pepperoni on top without a special aftertaste. I love Call of Duty, but this trend in gaming needs to stop and I really do not think gaming will be fun soon anymore. Modern Warfare II is a great looking and playable sequel but lacks substance to the point where the game felt incomplete aside from a great campaign.… Expand

    Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is such a fun game to play with friends or yourself. I recently have started playing it and I can't put down the controller to stop. The campaign is way better than Vanguards in my opinion. The multiplayer has also been really really fun but some guns like the M16 need a buff so they can be more usable. I didn't have much to complain about.

    Don't listen to like 90% of the negative stuff cause it's mainly about MP stuff. The story was decent, and the MP could use some work but has potential. But take my review with a grain of salt as it's my own opinion.

    Amazing game, best campaign till date and multiplayer is great, addicted to third person mosh pit playlist. Graphics in campaign is beautiful and realistic.

    These review bombs are insane. This game is great and packed with content at launch. The fps mechanics are slower than other games but feels good overall. Campaign is excellent and longer than i thought it would be. A little disappointed the museum map was taken away but package overall is excellent

    Growing up playing the Modern Warfare series, I have to say this game fits right in. The campaign is spectacular, I felt as though I was a teenager again. The multiplayer is good, it will get better. What a game this is, I was worried I would have regrets after purchasing this - I have none whatsoever. Fantastic fun. I will not spoil anything and just say that it is one of the best CoD campaigns. Multiplayer is not perfect but compared to CoD games of the past few years it's pretty damn good. The new maps are fine overall, they are not too cluttered, and I'mThis was a nice surprise, as I had cautiously low expectations. The new maps are fine overall, they are not too cluttered, and I'm looking forward to classic maps reportedly coming in the future. The seem to have pretty much nailed movement and gunplay. Movement seems smooth and pretty tame and I like the new visual recoil. I would also remove bunny hopping but that is just me. The UI is not that good, but the game itself runs very smoothly, which is the important part. Incidentally, people that still play on the PS4 are telling me that MW2 is already way smoother than Cold War ever was. In summary, given that this will be the CoD for the next two years, it could have been a lot, lot worse, so I'm quite satisfied with the result. It's sad that I have come to think like that, but for now I'm just happy to enjoy the game, hopefully the next installment doesn't ruin it.… Expand

Played the campaign on veteran to get full immersion. I love how the story wasn't too over the top crazy and could actually happen. The graphics are better than ever and I loved the slow burn of some missions. Multiplayer is fun!… Expand

    Fantastic campaign, well acted and a story that is well worth following! Graphics and gunplay are top tier and even the multiplayer is perfectly balanced and really fun even for casual players.

    Without any doubt one of the all time best Call Of Duty games!

    If that game was not a Call of Duty, everybody would say it's the best game since a long time, and would give it a 9/10. It's an excellent game. Need some fix for occational crashes, but this game is really a good time. Great campain with great multiplayer modes. Spec ops should be splitscreen offline, hope they add that soon.

    Call of Duty remains consistent as a baseline shooter with above-average controls and gameplay. Visually speaking, Modern Warfare 2's campaign is strong, albeit a little underwhelming in some instances. The variety of locations and lighting is the big standout and makes it feel like you're covering new territory most of the time. That said, the story is just good enough to be mildlyCall of Duty remains consistent as a baseline shooter with above-average controls and gameplay. Visually speaking, Modern Warfare 2's campaign is strong, albeit a little underwhelming in some instances. The variety of locations and lighting is the big standout and makes it feel like you're covering new territory most of the time. That said, the story is just good enough to be mildly enjoyed but not a standout for shooters. Speaking of visuals, the multiplayer barely looks like an upgrade from the previous Modern Warfare entry. 120 Hz refresh rate is nice but I think we've hit that point where the refresh rate push needs to slow down - there's not enough return to warrant a constant emphasis on pushing that boundary. The eye can only see so many frames per second and refreshing the image beyond 60 times per second rapidly loses value. The tradeoff comes with the detail of the game and what you're encountering, whether in the campaign or in a multiplayer match. Granted, it's not like you're constantly checking out the environment when engaged in a firefight but you still like to have the immersion when you enter a game of this caliber.

    Speaking more toward the gameplay and its variety - it's COD as usual. The baseline matchmaking content is there as it has been for decades. That stuff is fine - I'm getting close to being over normal matchmaking games though so while I do spend most of my time in this part of the game it's mostly because my friends are there - not because I feel it's the best experience. What is the best experience? In my opinion, it's in the other gameplay modes. There's a 3rd person combat experience (what a shakeup!) and a Battlefield-esque Ground War - no longer just a slightly larger standard map but rather a larger-scale experience with unique environments where you have a lot more room to move and quadruple the player count - quite a shift in dynamics and options. This is where I think Call of Duty has its most potential to grow. Vehicle play is pretty good, usually tight, but there's not a lot of emphasis on airborne combat - that's mostly left to killstreaks/scorestreaks while you scramble on the ground by foot or by tank/hummer.

    Modern Warfare 2 is welcome simply because shooters are in a tough space. Halo fell apart within a few months of launching, Bethesda's Starfield got delayed, leaving you to play mostly Apex, Warzone 1.0, Destiny for the most polished shooter experiences. Speaking of Warzone, Warzone 2.0 launches a couple weeks after launch. As of this review it hasn't launched but I do look forward to mixing up the COD experience again with a revamped Warzone experience. My biggest complaint against Warzone 1.0 was its sluggish performance, limited framerate, sometimes janky controls. If 2.0 plays just like typical matchmaking I will be impressed and will find more enjoyment out of that kind of step forward. But that's technically not MW2 - that's a separate aspect of COD and just so happens to be releasing near MW2.

    Modern Warfare 2 is pretty good it just doesn't standout well above the competition. It's greatest strength, if we're being honest, is it launched more polished than Battlefield 2042 and is likely set to receive consistent content updates and Battle Pass content every couple months. If you were waiting for Call of Duty to take a giant leap forward, I think it's safe to say that you are still waiting and it's likely that COD won't reshape its formula ever. Expect the studios relating to COD to have to release an entirely new IP that is much different, stands alone from COD. I actually expect that but that's a different conversation.    … Expand

    Personally believe it has the third best story mode in CoD (after original MW2 & BO ). It has some technical issues but no that much that bother you. Multiplayer is good and enjoyable especially if you are a MW reboot fan and it could be better if it had less camper. If you are a fan then don't miss it

    Campaign is really good especially since Vanguard was so mediocre. COOP is better than what we had on previous modern warfare game in 2019 its more fun and less stressful. Multiplayer is the best part of this year's CoD and I definitely see my self playing this game for a full year or more as it is basically MW2019 but better and improved in almost every aspect.

    Best Campaign. I loved playing the campaign. The game felt real and engaging. Though the chase mission seem stretched a bit long. Other than that for me it was near perfect.

    There is not one single competitor who can even come close to the smoothness COD offers. They are focusing too much on the economics within the game and need to spend time building maps. Call of Duty is simply the best FPS. No question. Was last year. Was 10 years ago. Same old same old.

    Campaign is amazing and the AI has improved a lot (credits to DMZ AI). To the Muslim’s who are complaining it is offensive to them, could say the same thing about Modern Warfare 1, but didn’t hear the Russians complain :)

    You won't get a better multiplayer game than COD MW2. Most PS5 games I buy and play for maybe an hour max. I've already put in 30+ hours into MW2. Great cost per play time from this game.

    Nur Multiplayer Time to Kill ist noch etwas niedriger als bei Mw 2019 habe ich das gefühl also viel zu niedrig und SBMM stört das Spiel deswegen eigentlich 1 Punkt abzug aber das wird bestimmt Microsoft nach einem Jahr ändern, weil Blizzard dann denen gehört und die auf die Community hören und es besser machen werden, sonst sind die Maps gut, die Waffen sind    Die Kampagne ist Großartig,

    Campaign is fun, simple as that. Nothing will top the iconic, yet surprising airport scene of the original. I believe it is unfair to compare the two. Old characters are still badass and new characters are equally as badass. I appreciate the experimental nature of the mission design even if it doesn’t hit every single time. What    I would rate both the campaign and multiplayer an 8/10.

    Campaign is fun, simple as that. Nothing will top the iconic, yet surprising airport scene of the original. I believe it is unfair to compare the two. Old characters are still badass and new characters are equally as badass. I appreciate the experimental nature of the mission design even if it doesn’t hit every single time. What holds it back are the balancing issues. Enemy AI is OP while teammate bot AI is mediocre. It took me out of the realism when I sometimes felt I died unfairly because of occasional weird pacing of the story and enemies flanking me from seemingly out of nowhere.

    Multiplayer is also just a good time. Graphics are obviously great, maps are varied, and there are a solid amount of modes to start the MWII meta that’ll last for approximately the next two years. I don’t have a problem with no hardcore mode at launch, it will come. I don’t have problems with the weapon leveling system as leveling up a different weapon to either unlock a new weapon or its attachments have forced me to try out different weapons and keep things fresh. What holds it back from me giving multiplayer a 9 is something the COD community has been complaining about for a while, SBMM. Good players complain that they don’t want to have to select their best loadout every time to stay competitive. An average player like me who is too good for beginners but not great, is put in lobbies where I’m just frying noobs. I don’t get good practice this way. There is no reason why we can’t have both “ranked” matches and random lobbies. Hardcore and regular modes still don’t do the community justice. A play again feature where you can fight the same team with your buddies also needs to return.

    Some rough edges as most games that launch these days have. Overall improvements on all fronts they have a formula and style of gameplay you either enjoy or don't. I've been playing CODs since the very first one and I appreciate the constant improvements every year. However it would be nice in the near future that really shakes up the franchise.     Personally I found it very enjoyable, it was the first COD game I every pre order and am very impressed with the graphics and gameplay overall, good maps and guns, although would have liked to see some old maps return. Best COD game since black ops 3 in my opinion.

    Better gun and camos objective in multiplayer… It promisses even more, hope we have an equivalent Warzone and hope it doesnt get destroyed again by The Fortnite Skins Recipe, keep the Game Sober, stick the game to Call of Duty origins and    Honors and stays Loyal to original Modern Warfare Saga, brings back original MW2 Nostalgia… (btw with) improved story, graphics, details and playability.

    I’ve never been one for call of duty stories, but this one is definitely a step above the rest. not groundbreaking, but good. The multiplayer, however, is better than ever with the inclusion of casual skill-based matchmaking, making it easier than ever to not be as overwhelmed by players better than you. overall, one of the best call of duty games in years

    I purchsed and played CoD since Cod4, only multiplay though. Its fun, I know its frustrating when you get killed all the time but I just enjoy playing this game for some reason. Looking forward on more maps though, night maps needs to be removed or consolidated into different mode where only nightmaps are going to be played.

    The game is a lot of fun. I’ve had some really crazy experiences on DMZ. I was a little upset that it wasn’t like Tarkov but it’s good mode it it’s own right. I like pretty much everything they’ve done from the dead silence as a timed perk to no red dots. To no slide cancelling.

    People **** on this Call of Duty game for no good reason, if you dont like fast paced gameplay, this game isnt for you. The campaign is great and no one is denying that, but the multiplayer (strictly the mw2 side of things) is not half bad either, its actually quite decent. It’s 2022, and we rejoin SAS Captain    After Vanguard last year and Cold War in 2020, I was hesitant to pick up another Call of Duty game after the back-to-back disappointment. But the safety blanket of the words Modern Warfare in the title roped me back in – and I’m glad it did.

    STORY

    Modern Warfare II is a sequel to the Modern Warfare reboot, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). It’s 2022, and we rejoin SAS Captain Price, Sergeant Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley, and Sergeant John “Soap” MacTavish AKA Task Force 141 as they hunt down Quds Force Major Hassan Zyani for funding terrorist activity.

    I found the narrative was hard to follow at some points, but the overall experience of the campaign kept me captivated throughout the 17 missions it had to offer. The missions on offer vary from your classic infiltration missions, and then your stealth, sniper and survival missions. Even though these missions had a type of angle intended for completion, the game in most parts allows you to finish them however you like. If being stealthy is not your thing, you can go guns blazing, even if it makes it a little more difficult. The mix-up of missions was great, although there were two air-borne missions in a row followed by a sniper mission which had me itching for a classic run-and-gun infiltration mission.

    GAMEPLAY

    The core gameplay in MWII remains somewhat the same as its predecessor, which isn’t a bad thing. Infinity Ward does what it does best, and that is creating a Call of Duty game any FPS fan would enjoy. While some extra mechanics were added for story fulfillment purposes, there wasn’t anything new or inventive. Mission 13, “Alone”, introduced a crafting system that I thought was a welcome addition to the gameplay. It was probably one of my favourite missions, although one that I found the most challenging.

    The AI during the campaign felt a little inconsistent. The enemies sometimes caught me off guard and my AI squad mate(s) saved me numerous times, whereas other times I would see AI follow questionable tactics. I could just stand at the top of the staircase and have countless enemies run straight into my line of fire. I might be harsh on the AI, but it doesn’t live up to the intellectual and independent AI that I recently loved in The Last of Us Part I.

    VISUALS

    I played this on PlayStation 5 and I could tell that Infinity Ward wanted to push the limits of current-gen consoles. The game’s visuals are breathtaking and the cutscenes look like a live-action movie. Backdrops such as Amsterdam, Chicago, and the Texas/Mexico border are the most stunning and accurately crafted locations which had me in awe.

    MUTLIPLAYER

    I’m going to talk about the multiplayer experience briefly. Call of Duty multiplayer is not for everyone. I prefer games like Apex Legends, which offer a more team-based experience. I occasionally dabble in Call of Duty multiplayer when my friends ask me to, but it has never been my go-to multiplayer game. I have played around 8-10 hours of multiplayer since Modern Warfare II‘s launch and I have to say it caught me off guard. I love it. That said, I can not play it for hours on end, but I am enjoying it despite some of the bugs it had at launch (but that is expected for a large-scale launch like Call of Duty). The maps are fun to play; most don’t feel too big or too small. If you just want to blow off some steam after a hard day at work, then it might be time to jump back into Call of Duty multiplayer.

    THE VERDICT

    Infinity Ward has won me over with its delivery of a captivating Campaign mode and fun multiplayer. While no risks were taken with this iteration of COD, it was a tactical decision made to return the franchise to form.

    All the 0s-4s are review bombs I think a 5 is fair depending on how your online experience has been going. As for me I’ve had some bugs here and there, no crashes and I’ve put in abt 15-20 hrs and am level 30 in multiplayer. I’ve had a good time so far. Guns are punchy and feel great on dualsense. U literally have to level like 6 different guns to a certain level just to unlock a damn sight. It’s not only confusing but also frustrating because some of these guns I have no interest in playing with but I’m forced to if I want a particular attachment or gun. Other than that though I think the game is pretty fun and there is a lot of enjoyment to be had at a discounted price. Don’t pay $70+ for this thing… Expand

    A really solid cod game but also a really solid FPS overall. If I could pick out anything I don’t like it would be the crashing at release, interface, weapon progression and kill streaks in every mode. Other than that it’s a pretty good Call of Duty game. Definitely worth the money!

    I love the series and im very sad that the prime is over science 2016... the good part is that without looking at microtransactions and toxic community we still got two very decent CODs.. and this is one of them.

    Game started of slow, but they have added a filter which means you can play 10v10 only.. this makes the huge maps for fast pace and fun. Next wish list is of you can vote for maps. Also, I like grind, domination, hardpoint and I hate team death match. If I could choose 10v10 and those good modes that would be perfect. 9/10 until we can vote for maps and combo 10v10 with good modes.

    A somewhat droll campaign will greet players of Modern Warfare II. It's a short bombastic romp with some fun gunplay moments and fantastic graphics. The multiplayer, however, is a miss as it is no longer a properly combined entity and the lack of replayability is disappointing. A recommendation for CoD fans but for anyone even slightly on the fence perhaps keep shopping or waiting for a sale.

    CoD MW 2 is a refreshing single-player experience, providing players with some of the best action-packed moments and great characters, but riddled with multiplayer balancing issues and extreme performance and technical problems. It still is CoD and is fun for anyone who finds its casual shooting gameplay compelling, but it plays safely and doesn’t present itself as something revolutionary for the franchise.
