Dec 8, 2025Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 represents Treyarch doing what Treyarch does best: crafting rock-solid multiplayer and inventive zombies experiences. Coming just one year after Black Ops 6, there were legitimate concerns about franchise fatigue, but the game manages to be both familiar and fresh enough to justify its existence.
-
Dec 3, 2025Plenty of players feared Black Ops 7 might fall into the same expansion-like pattern that Modern Warfare 3 did after Modern Warfare 2, and for some that concern may feel justified once the campaign’s uneven execution becomes clear. The story has flashes of ambition, but its pacing and structure stop it from reaching the impact it aims for, leaving it feeling more serviceable than essential. Multiplayer steadies the ship with the sharpest and most rewarding action in the package, delivering the consistency and momentum the rest of the game struggles to match. Zombies offers a decent run with enjoyable pockets of tension, yet it also settles into familiar rhythms, creating an overall experience that lands solidly but never pushes the series forward in the way fans hoped.
-
Dec 1, 2025Black Ops 7 delivers a rollercoaster ride of the franchise’s recent highs and lows. Without the campaign, it could almost be considered a strong addition to the series. But judging the story mode on its own paints a very different picture. Even with its weakest campaign to date, the game still offers enjoyable multiplayer and an excellent Zombies experience, leaving the overall product balanced right on the borderline. Activision’s willingness to listen to fans and adjust various aspects shows the team is moving in the right direction, if only the narrative hadn’t turned out so poorly.
-
Dec 1, 2025Once again, as a package, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 provides plenty of throwaway fun and multiplayer mayhem.
-
Nov 30, 2025Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 takes too many risks in its campaign and, even while earning points for innovation, ends up delivering a bizarre and disjointed plot that attempts to blend science fiction with fantasy elements, seasoned with touches of surrealism, paranoia, and cheap horror. While maintaining a solid core in its gameplay models, refining successful aspects and reviving established mechanics, it seems to overuse recycled content, AI-generated elements, and a generic art style that already shows signs of fatigue and exhaustion, making it a game as dense as it is unbalanced.
-
Nov 24, 2025This year's Call of Duty gives you a lot of bang for your buck. Black Ops 7 might not stray very far from the franchise's usual offerings, but makes up for it with clever design choices throughout the campaign, multiplayer and zombies.
-
Nov 24, 2025Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 delivers one of the weakest campaigns in the series, with a disjointed story and a lack of the bombastic set pieces fans expect. Its multiplayer, however, is far stronger, offering fast-paced gameplay and a solid variety of well-designed maps.
-
Nov 19, 2025Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 slows down a little compared to its predecessor and responds to complaints from the community to deliver a good multiplayer experience in a year when everything is against it. Its campaign, however, highlights what has been sacrificed in the short development time and stands as a strong contender for the worst story in the franchise.
-
Nov 18, 2025Despite offering strong zombies content, polished movement, and fun multiplayer without SBMM, the game suffers from a hollow, recycled campaign, repetitive online modes, and an overall lack of innovation that makes it feel directionless.
-
Nov 17, 2025Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 attempts to compensate for its excessive continuity with an immense amount of content. It has the best multiplayer in the series in years, and Final Objective is a fantastic addition with the potential to be memorable. However, its terrible campaign and its desire to refine the usual formula make it a notable game, but not an excellent one.
-
Nov 17, 2025Overall, the multiplayer package is really strong in Black Ops 7. The movement is fun and fluid, the gunplay is as satisfying as ever, and the map designs greatly improve the experience from last year. Combined with the smaller quality-of-life change and the futuristic themes, and Black Ops 7 feels like a fresh experience that avoids any dreaded fatigue...Ashes of the Damned implements some ambitious ideas for Zombies that largely succeed. The map is massive and refreshingly atmospheric, there are thrilling new enemy encounters, and the traversal elements with Ol' Tessie separate the experience from more traditional maps. Ashes of the Damned excels as a cooperative experience, while Vandorn Farm's survival map offers a fun way to have a solo or more condensed experience. Either way, Black Ops 7 provides enjoyable ways to slay the undead.
-
Dec 8, 2025If co-op is your comfort zone and you’ve got a well-oiled crew beside you, this year’s campaign will fit you like a glove. But if you’re going in solo, expect a few too many roadblocks - which is a real shame, because these 11 levels are bursting with creativity and some downright wild moments, even by Black Ops standards.
-
Dec 5, 2025Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is polished enough to function, familiar enough to feel safe, and dull enough to be skippable. There are a few nice surprises in here with fan-favourite returning maps and an interesting direction the co-op campaign goes into if you’re already invested, but little reason for anyone else to jump in.
-
Dec 4, 2025The missions offer plenty of variety and are nail-biting at times. You can play them alone, but just about everything makes you feel that this is not the intention: Black Ops 7 is clearly designed to be played with multiple players. The campaign also works much better when you try to achieve your goal with others. We already knew that Call of Duty is primarily a multiplayer extravaganza. Still, we expected a little more here.
-
Nov 25, 2025Black Ops 7 really demonstrates the difficulties of Call of Duty's yearly release schedule and going back-to-back with its sub-series. It's not as rushed-feeling as Modern Warfare III was, that's for sure, but it's also not a consistent experience. The multiplayer and Zombies are solid continuations from last year, but there's not too much excitement in that, especially after the energy-sapping co-op campaign and Endgame.
-
Nov 21, 2025While there’s plenty of content on offer, Black Ops 7’s well-executed (if not overly familiar) multiplayer and Zombies modes are eclipsed by a truly baffling, nonsensical campaign. Here’s hoping that 2026’s Call of Duty manages to find its footing again and, hopefully, stick the landing.
-
Nov 20, 2025Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 looks good, but ultimately fails to bring anything new to the table. The campaign is confusing and poorly organized, the multiplayer is basically “more of the same,” and the Zombies mode has some good ideas, but it's not enough to save the game.
-
Nov 20, 2025As Activision’s popular franchise keeps sinking away in quicksand, Black Ops 7 presents a new low for the shooter. The campaign is absolutely horrendous, as is the new mode Endgame. Aside from removing skill-based matchmaking, multiplayer offers nothing new or exciting. At the very least, Zombies is still good for countless hours of fun, but it really acts as a crutch for Treyarch in Black Ops 7.
-
Nov 19, 2025Call of Duty Black Ops 7's multiplayer is some of the finest the series has had to offer in years. It's just a shame it's tied to a baffling, turgid, ridiculous campaign that makes a great argument for stopping Call of Duty campaigns all together. 7 games is plenty. The Black Ops series has run its course.
-
Nov 19, 2025The most ridiculous Call of Duty has ever been, all of Black Ops 7’s multiplayer strengths are overshadowed by the silliest campaign in the franchise’s history. It’s still quality online, and the Zombies mode is as solid as ever. They don’t matter quite as much, though, when a co-op campaign manages to reframe an entire release into one of stupidity.
-
Nov 18, 2025Black Ops 7 offers an enjoyable experience in Zombies and online modes, but it might be the furthest from the series in terms of identity and gameplay style. Meanwhile, the modest campaign and its frustrating design choices were intended by the developer to be bold steps, yet ended up being unsuccessful and in some cases, outright poor. Overall, this installment is good, not bad, but it falls short of the expectations set by the game's promotional campaign.
-
Nov 18, 2025Call of Duty deserves so much better, and if there’s anything that I’ve learned from Black Ops 7, it's that the annual releases need to come to an end ASAP, so that the developers can have more time to ensure that each new release lives up to the legacy of this series that has been built over the last two decades. Hopefully, the next entry will get the series back on track.
-
Nov 18, 2025Black Ops 7 might be just what you've been looking for. Maybe the frantic pace will appeal to you after the much more heavy-handed alternatives from competitors on the market, maybe the chaos will take shape as a challenge, an Everest that you and your friends must climb. Fair enough. For me, though? I think this feels miscalibrated.
-
Nov 17, 2025Call of Duty Black Ops 7 leaves a mixed impression. It moves forward, tries new things, experiments, but stumbles as soon as it attempts to surpass itself. The ideas are there, but the structure still lacks the cohesion needed to transform it all into a memorable whole. This offering remains too uneven to really take off.
-
Nov 17, 2025If Modern Warfare 3 fumbled its campaign directly after Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops 7 completely drops the ball following Black Ops 6. This tactic of rushing out direct sequels isn’t working for Call of Duty. Now all that’s left to ponder is where the franchise goes next after wearing out and devaluing its flagship Modern Warfare and Black Ops series this generation, like Marge Simpson’s tattered Chanel suit.
-
Nov 17, 2025Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 feels like four games in one. Very ambitious, but uneven to say the least. The co-op story and PvE mode miss the mark pretty bad, while Zombies and multiplayer carry the experience. Not a classic, but there’s fun to be had if you know what you’re here for.
-
Nov 14, 2025A shift away from single-player leaves Call of Duty with its most lopsided and homogenous entry in decades, though what it does offer is consistently good fun when accepted on its own terms.
-
Nov 17, 2025Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is one of the worst games in the series. A disastrous, soulless campaign highlights the poor practices that have plagued the series in recent years. Only the multiplayer mode (with its drawbacks) prevents this instalment from being a complete disaster.
-
Dec 2, 2025Call of Duty Black Ops 7 tries to innovate with a co-op open world campaign and psychological elements but fails in almost every narrative aspect. The story is disjointed, relying heavily on hallucinations and aimless twists that disrespect the franchise’s legacy. The multiplayer is more solid, bringing some welcome improvements over BO6, with good maps and the return of fan-favorite mechanics. Zombies mode also stands out, offering a robust and fun experience. Still, it feels like an annual release that could have been just an expansion, especially with a weak campaign, aggressive monetization, and a lack of truly new content.
-
Nov 19, 2025Black Ops 7 is, without question, the most disappointed I’ve been in a Call of Duty campaign. It’s not because it’s the least fun, necessarily, it’s because it’s a regression in every field that Black Ops excels—it’s a thoughtless, homogeneous mess that feels more like a Zombies off-shoot that, in an attempt to call back to better games, only serves to cheapen their memory.
-
Dec 8, 2025Black Ops 7 is a massive misstep for Call of Duty, that is unfortunately very difficult to recommend to anyone.
-
Dec 11, 2025There's a sort of tradition to COD games lately - every couple of years we're getting a game that is absolutely lazy and unoriginal. Black Ops 7 is one of those games.
-
Nov 20, 2025Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is a highly ambitious FPS that delivers on its promise to be the biggest Black Ops ever, wearing its psy-op weirdness proudly, but is an uneven package overall. Multiplayer is fast, frenetic, and polished while Zombies feels like a trip to Black Ops 2's good old days, but the co-op campaign and new Endgame mode stretch the definition of a Call of Duty campaign a little too far with repetitive and underdeveloped design that, both in terms of narrative and gameplay, ends up falling flat.

Nov 13, 2025The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 campaign is incredibly ambitious, focusing on the personal lives of the heroes as they work to stop a grand evil plan. Not every choice lands as well as it could have, but overall, the experience is certainly worth playing, especially in co-op. [Campaign Review score = 75]
-
Nov 13, 2025Being able to play through Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's campaign in a full squad of four and then jump straight into the Endgame makes this one of the more enjoyable Call of Duty campaigns in recent years, even if the story being told fails to live up to the hype. [Campaign Review score = 84]
