    Let me start with saying, this is half a game even with just Multiplayer. It's broken, vehicles are OP, one weapon is god, hit boxes are broken. Lag is everywhere, no voice chat in game, spawns are terrible, they patched it twice now and it's still broken, weapons don't load in and if you lucky, sometimes you don't spawn in or given a random kit.     I’ve always been a sucker for shooters. Played a bunch of Battlefields, COD’s, MOH’s and such. Enjoyed plenty of them. Despite the game looking amazing I just get very little joy out of this one. The game feels very bare without a campaign, few maps, few weapons. I loved the idea of portal, though it feels limited as well.     I've been playing video games since 1999, Battlefield 2042 is the worst video game I have ever played in my life. EA is an embarrassment to video games and they couldn't care less about their customers. I wouldn't recommend downloading this game for free.     Fehlende UI Elemente, übles balancing, Grafik und UI Bugs und glitches, schlechte Spawns, ach was soll man noch sagen… mehr negatives als positives. Einfach eine Enttäuschung

    The game has been released an an unfinished buggy mess, but that can be fixed. What cannot be fixed is the fact it is more like COD or APEX than any Battlefield that has gone before. Many core BF features have simply been removed (e.g. a scoreboard and destruction is almost non existent).     Just not the same as previous Battlefields. Released before it was ready, with too many things missing from the game to make it enjoyable. Maps too big, vehicle imbalance...

    I bought this for the PS 5, hoping the bad reviews were just hated, but really, the game is awful, the imbalance is without the cool mechanics, the game is worse than Battlefield 4, don't buy this **** until it's normal.

    I feel robbed by EA for 120$. They sold me not a game, it is not a game to be clear it is a SCAM! It feels like and looks like an attempt to make a game by students and sell it as an AAA project. A lot of bugs, empty maps, a lot of errors and crashes, poor choice of weapons and enginery, bad balance, bad...everything is bad AND EA said that it is gamers fault because of the highI feel robbed by EA for 120$.     By far the worst part of the frenchise.

    The operators don't make sense.
    The game is missing basic features like a scoreboard, VOIP, assist points, a class system.

    pre orderd game ,couldnt play because of bugs n crashes should have got part refund as never got to play. pre order players were just test dummys so they could try fix bugs such a crappy game for price

    I've put 30 hours in. I'm enjoying the game. Specialists bring some nuance despite their controversial addition. Some more destruction would be nice. The maps are pretty wide open and could use some tightening up and detail added to indoor areas. Could be a bit more optimized but as of now it seems to have its major bugs ironed out. It gives those "only in battlefield" moments, and is aI've put 30 hours in. I'm enjoying the game. Specialists bring some nuance despite their controversial addition. Some more destruction would be nice. The maps are pretty wide open and could use some tightening up and detail added to indoor areas. Could be a bit more optimized but as of now it seems to have its major bugs ironed out. What else can I say to explain how terrible this series is now? The gunplay feels random and floaty, specialist system feels cheap and fortnite-esque.
    Maps are disgustingly uninspired, actual destruction is at its worst level ever. The UI and HUD sucks, social and squad systems are frustratingly difficult to operate. The menus are laggy and unresponsive. I could go on...

    Please don't buy this game, if you did, teach DICE and EA a lesson and get yourself a refund, i know I will.    … Expand

    I have played BF since Battlefield 1942 and DC mod and this game is not Battlefield.

    I have not felt any release before Battlefield 2042 was too bad. I went through 1942 freezes, Vietnam M60 sniping, and BF2 ranking failures (persistent tracking did not update on their server). I even thought BF3/BF4 rubber banding was whatever since I still got to play Battlefield. To give perspective,    I have played BF since Battlefield 1942 and DC mod and this game is not Battlefield.

I even thought BF3/BF4 rubber banding was whatever since I still got to play Battlefield. To give perspective, I liked Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5, though I was confused by the decision to give players the option to spawn in vehicles without things like airfields and contested bases to fight over vehicle-wise. I still did not mind any of those things too much because I was playing Battlefield.

    I tried playing this game but I found myself playing other games and putting this particular game on the shelf because it's just not Battlefield. I am not sure how to explain it, but this game just does not feel or play like Battlefield. This is just another recycled FPS Generic shooter.

    I avoid games like COD, APEX, and anything with a Battle Royale because it's just not my style. Heroes are for kids. Brainless shooting without strategy is for kids. Running out in the open without a plan is for kids. Coding a game before testing it is for kids. This game was made by and for kids. It's time to go back to our PC roots and play games like ArmA and Squad and hope the old DiCE dev games like Arc Raiders is good.

    Every single one of these developers at DICE and the Head of EA should be fired. DO NOT BUY......and even if free to play, the space that it will take up on your hard drive is 1 binary number too much. Its like the old saying goes....    Just go onto youtube and see everything there.

    I have tried to enjoy Bf2042 since launch despite a raft of issues, but finally it's really just shown a surprising lack of depth. Overall art design is good, but level design is terrible. No usable cover on capture points make you cannon fodder for mouse pad snipers. I find myself constantly popping smoke to stay alive. No peek around cover options or weapon mounting doesn't help. NoI have tried to enjoy Bf2042 since launch despite a raft of issues, but finally it's really just shown a surprising lack of depth. Overall art design is good, but level design is terrible. No usable cover on capture points make you cannon fodder for mouse pad snipers. I find myself constantly popping smoke to stay alive. No peek around cover options or weapon mounting doesn't help. No choke points to enable tense gunplay. Vehicle balancing is broken and light transports are useless, which makes Conquest feel like a sprinting simulator. 128 player matches can be a thrill and this kept me coming back until I realised the maps were garbage. With servers seeming laggier than ever and player counts plummeting the state of the game is far from ideal. Patches have fixed assault rifle bloom and hit reg issues. But these shouldn't have existed in the first place in a game with an active beta. Dice clearly dropped the ball on what should have been a slam dunk.… Expand

    How this got a 67 on metascore is absolutely mind bending! This is the worst battlefield game I have ever played. It feels like it was created for mobile. Lack of guns, lack of customisation, lack of soul. The maps are super open and aimed at vehicles. They are so empty and clean and weird. The game is just so bad. Do not get it.

    Unplayable. So many bugs! This games does not deserve full price even if they fix it. Indeed, immediately they reduced it to 30% off, then 50%, and now it is permanently on sale. No guns, no maps, no story mode. Laggy servers. Every single aspect is bad and performs poorly if it is not glitchy. We, who paid full price, are mad at EA/DICE. I'll never pre-order again.

    Quick background on me the reviewer, I tend to like single player games that is heavy on narrative the most. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now I hardly play any.     So I started playing this series with Bad Company and instantly fell in love with the multiplayer. I loved the everbody has a role to play, teamwork focus, destructive environments, and the feeling that you where in a war. They continued to do well and peaked at Battlefield 3/4. Battlefield 1 they started going on a downward trend. Starting with this game they launch games with very little contact in regards to maps, weapons, and campaign. Even the multiplayer component seemed to loose there teamwork/role aspects that made Battlefield unique. Battlefield 5 they added hero shooter aspects to be more like other games instead of sticking to their uniqueness. Felt more and more like Call of Duty but there is already a Call of Duty. Stick to your history it's what made Battlefield a threat agaisnt Call of Duty. When they started the marketing for Battlefield 2042 they were saying all the right things and they got me hyped. Once again I was dissapointed. Hero shooter is still there, hardly any maps and the maps they have don't flow well, no weapons to choose from, and no campaign at all. I felt scammed since their marketing made it seem like they where going back to their old formula.

    This game has potential but they would have to make a lot of gameplay changes and add content which i doubt they'll do. There Aug 2022 announcement seemed like they are making some better decisions but I'll wait until i see it.    … Expand

    Please don't buy this game until they've fixed it and made it playable. It's a fun game at its core but it is incredibly unbalanced and buggy.

    While the repetition and lack of content cooled my enthusiasm a bit, I am excited to see where DICE can take Battlefield 2042 from here — if current industry trends hold, I’m confident this will be a strong addition to my already-full shooter rotation after a few months of additions and updates.
