Its not even that bad, I encountered like 2 bugs in 50 hours. Gameplay is pretty fun but I don't enjoy the game's main mode, conquest and ngl these maps sometimes feel too big.

Disappointing and medicore, this game was rushed and sent out to die with riddled false promises and shinning example of how not to do a live service game. A bit let down.

When you compare it to call of duty which has campaign, multiplayer and co-op (Zombies or spec ops) for the same price then it makes you wonder how they think £70 is a reasonable price. It should be half that. Overall the multiplayer is solid since they updated it. I personally got the game second hand for £15 ($18). I stopped pre ordering games because they end up launching the way this game did. I decided to check back and seen they fixed some issues and seen it cheap so I grabbed it and for £15 it's a good price. To summarize it's a good game but extremely overpriced for a game that has the same amount of micro-transactions as games which are free. There isn't enough content to make £70 worth while when there are games which offer way more entertainment for the same price.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

Up to try any genre of games and sometimes I find something new that I didn't think I'd like. I play on every platform but prefer PlayStation.

So I started playing this series with Bad Company and instantly fell in love with the multiplayer. I loved the everbody has a role to play, teamwork focus, destructive environments, and the feeling that you where in a war. They continued to do well and peaked at Battlefield 3/4. Battlefield 1 they started going on a downward trend. Starting with this game they launch games with very little contact in regards to maps, weapons, and campaign. Even the multiplayer component seemed to loose there teamwork/role aspects that made Battlefield unique. Battlefield 5 they added hero shooter aspects to be more like other games instead of sticking to their uniqueness. Felt more and more like Call of Duty but there is already a Call of Duty. Stick to your history it's what made Battlefield a threat agaisnt Call of Duty. When they started the marketing for Battlefield 2042 they were saying all the right things and they got me hyped. Once again I was dissapointed. Hero shooter is still there, hardly any maps and the maps they have don't flow well, no weapons to choose from, and no campaign at all. I felt scammed since their marketing made it seem like they where going back to their old formula.

This game has potential but they would have to make a lot of gameplay changes and add content which i doubt they'll do. There Aug 2022 announcement seemed like they are making some better decisions but I'll wait until i see it.

I have tried to enjoy Bf2042 since launch despite a raft of issues, but finally it's really just shown a surprising lack of depth. Overall art design is good, but level design is terrible. No usable cover on capture points make you cannon fodder for mouse pad snipers. I find myself constantly popping smoke to stay alive. No peek around cover options or weapon mounting doesn't help. No choke points to enable tense gunplay. Vehicle balancing is broken and light transports are useless, which makes Conquest feel like a sprinting simulator. 128 player matches can be a thrill and this kept me coming back until I realised the maps were garbage. With servers seeming laggier than ever and player counts plummeting the state of the game is far from ideal. Patches have fixed assault rifle bloom and hit reg issues. But these shouldn't have existed in the first place in a game with an active beta. Dice clearly dropped the ball on what should have been a slam dunk. Expand

Once this game is patched and finished, it will be a fantastic title. Depsite what you might be hearing about 2042, there is something to say about how fun this game has the potential to be. The maps, gunplay, and graphics are all very good. But the game is so broken that it's unplayable. Give it time, and this game may end up surprising a lot of us down the road.

The game was released in an unfinnished state with tons of bugs showering over us during the first weeks. This is no news for the returning BF player who seems to endure this every iteration. The new modes of Portal, making it able to play legacy modes from other games, as well as Hazard Zone, a version of battleroyal customized for the new mechanics of 2042, makes me put a higher score as they are fun additions. The fact that there are no official Hardcore servers, making it moot to get any progress unless you want to play playing the normal, broken settings is weird too. It is like they skipped any user testing before launch and just wanted it out there before the hollidays. Hopefylly we'll get it down the line, but thinking about the hot mess they need to clean before balancing any weapons/settings or even getting to a new official server, will take a looong time. As a Battlefield Fan I Am Disappointed, Here Are The Biggest Problems:

Clunky, The game feels so clunky, even after putting the sensibility to Max, when turning left or right it just feels slow and clunky, it's unbelievable. The Guns don't have or don't feel with power no animation that satisfies your experience, I don't see smoke coming out of the Guns.. It's like if the guns were not

It's the best multiplayer fps game for sure but I don't appreciate the direction EA is taking. First Battlefield is a MATURE audience, most of the gamer are male - 20-45 years old. They do not wish to have a Fortnite experience in Battlefield. + Nothing justified that solo campaign is missing on this game

I was expecting a actual Battlefield type experience with this game but it doesn't fully immerse you like the other Battlefield games. The graphics are good on next gen and PC. It runs smooth depending on hardware. I play on PS5 and haven't had but a few issues. The UI however is a mess and doesn't have a smooth flow to it. The maps also feel empty and not lived in. I see where they were going with the concept and mechanics of the game but I really think they missed what their core fan base wanted. Some of the new features are enjoyable and I like some of the direction they went in. However too many corners were cut, to many key features that makes Battlefield, well, Battlefield were left out and the community is down right angry about it. They need to listen to the players, the fan base that has supported them for years with there time and money. There are several things that need to be added back in. I don't need to go through the list because it's all over the internet what they screwed up. I want to have hope for this game and I truly hope Dice can get there act together and change it for the better. With the new systems in place they should be able to not only patch and update but to fully adjust how the game feels and plays. If they can add in what they left out to get back to the basics, bring new and seasonal events to keep the game fresh and not go the route of how the other FPS have gone with gimmicks and pay to win items, then I think this could be a really great game. Yes there are bugs, yes the game does not feel complete, no it is not worth $60-$70 currently, but, this is a big but, if they listen and open their eyes to what their community truly wants, fix problems quickly, and communicate with players it could turn out to be a game well worth hundreds of hours worth of play. For the time being I will be going back to playing Warzone and BF 1 & 5 until they fix the issues. Expand

Frustrating pos. Battlefield was my favorite franchise…was. Graphics are sub par for Battlefield. Guns feel like **** Sound is worse then previous games. Worst thing is level design. Some matches are un-winnable due to **** objective placement. All around downgrade. Wish they would have just kept updating Battlefront 2.

The game is a solid 5 out of 10. The weirdest issue with the game is that it has no scoreboard which makes the game feel soulless. The game play is OK to burn an hour of time. After that it becomes pretty stale, especially with the bugs in the game. The one good thing bf2042 has done is that the maps are some of the best maps i have played in a battlefield series.

While the game is not what I was hoping for right away, and having pre-ordered I can say that it was not a good investment, but that being said I'm still invested in this game as it grows, as many other Battlefield games have. Give it time, and if you like the maps/gamemodes/core gameplay than you shouldn't rate the game 0, because in all honesty most people will visit this game again and it'll be drastically different. Have had a fair amount of fun in the game with friends. It still needs some work in a lot of areas though. Specialists in particular seem out of place in Conquest, maybe they should be in Hazard Zone / Portal exclusively. Either way, I've still had fun. Will definitely keep playing the game while hoping it improves.

While the repetition and lack of content cooled my enthusiasm a bit, I am excited to see where DICE can take Battlefield 2042 from here — if current industry trends hold, I’m confident this will be a strong addition to my already-full shooter rotation after a few months of additions and updates.
