I had trouble getting started, because the game is different from it's predecessor, with changes in emphasis to match the character of the hero. I ended up taking quite a bit of fall damage until I had figured out what worked for me and what did not. I played through at my own pace, in about a year, starting on Stadia and finishing on PS5. The breath of side quests kept me engaged, and I paced the storyline because I didn't want to hurry too much. In terms of value/money, this game heads my personal charts. I particularly loved the ending - the integration of the future storyline with the past is much more meaningful and mysterious than in prior games, and the ending hits hard both philosophically and on an emotional level, while simultaneously raising a few hair-raising questions about the entire Isu universe and the future of the franchise. Well done. Insanely well done. Expand

Most criminally underrated game of 2020 .
The Amount of effort put in by Ubisoft has paid off especially with the story and characters. It plays flawlessly on Ps5 60 frames no bugs .. nothing.
I'm 50 hours in and absolutely lovin it those reviewers saying it's to long are morons .

Fantastic game. So much do see and do with hidden stuff and collectables. Graphics are superb so looks real, combat is good and the music is perfect mixture of relaxing and medieval charm. Story is also really good and overall im hooked and loving it

One of the best Assassins Creed games yet. Even for the beginning of the next gen era, the graphics are stunning. Music is epic and fighting much fun. Some hard edges need to be patched but nothin world changing.
If enjoyed AC before and like the nordic viking theme, you are going to love this game.

It is the first game after Witcher 3 that really impressed me by story. There are many interesting quests except main quest line.

I have never really liked the Assassins Creed series. But Valhalla is another story. It has good combat and story. It has a beautiful world with lots of depth. It is in many ways a lot like Witcher III but with its own identity. And thats a great thing.

I like the settings of Norway and England, the raidings, social stealth is back, combat system with dual wielding weapons is fun and so is treasure hunting.
I also like the fantasy-like atmosphere with dark forests, fogs, ruins, curses... I needed a game that I just have fun. I do not need anything spectacular or original or ground-breaking. Just pure fun. I enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima and

What wonderful gameplay in a gorgeous polished world. I don't understand how they manage to pack so much content into a single game, from other developers this would be like 2 games and 3 paid expansions.

Being able to fluidly switch from stealth to action at will really fits in this setting, I don't feel like I've "failed" if I stop sneaking and just decide to jump into the fray with axes and go Viking for a bit. Mission variety encourages you to experiment with both, and leaves options for both - I definitely ended an entire boss fight with a single instant stealth-kill because I'd built my skills out for that.

Great game, if you want to go be a Viking this is by far the best choice out there.

It's the best part of the Assassin's Creed series so far. I played them all so I am able to judge here. I've beaten Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla in 3 months. I thought it will be too much of Assassin's Creed but due to each game being better than the previous, I was not tired of all of this. But even so, Valhalla is much better than the previous parts. It's an almost perfect action RPG game - good story, plenty of quite interesting OPTIONAL side activities, the best combat system in the Assassin's Creed series etc.

Drawbacks are quite standard for Ubisoft: the game is too long. I've beaten the main story with plenty of sides in about 60 hours and about 20 hours more are needed for DLC and about 10-20 hours I guess for finishing with Order and other side quests. 100h is too much. People mostly like changes in their lives :) 100h in a single game is toooo damn much. Sony makes ideal-length games: Last of Us 2, GoW 2 and Horizon 2 are about 20-30 hours. It's the best length - not short not long.

But even though I can't assess the game less than 10 of 10 because the amount of work done is terrifying. I played the game in 2023 so missed almost all bugs - good for me, LOL.

I really like this game and I enjoy playing it.
The game environment is very beautiful and reminds me of Witcher 3. It has a very good artistic design.
The gameplay is a lot better than the Odyssey. It offers many and various facilities and capabilities to the players.
In many ways it is one of the best open world games in history.

    I suggest you try it.

Pretty much Witcher 3 without any of the characters and less side quests but an overwhelmingly massive map where half of the time you are grinding to be able to even survive in certain areas. Oh, and no monsters. Or magic. Or Witchers. Still recommend as I have pretty much all of the ps5 launch titles and this game has somehow hooked me the most. Valhalla is a great game in the same level of Ghost of Tsushima. An interesting story in the times of viking invasions of England. The game changes for better the mechanics of Odyssey and Origins. The combat is looking at The level of Odyssey, and The freedom is bigger than in other titles of the saga. The game comes back to sandbox. Welcome again!!!!

There are two competing experiences here: that as as Assassin, and that as a Viking, that either on its own feels like it might have been a triumph and better than this good but not great Assass-king hybrid we have.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla effortlessly plants its banner as the best open world RPG available for the new consoles. This Viking epic flexes its gore-soaked, tattooed muscles when it comes to world-building, and medieval England wows with its enchanting untamed vistas. It’s also portioned out at a steady pace and, if not for the repetitive, limited combat, Valhalla could have ranked even higher among our favourite games in the series.

Is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla the best entry in the series yet? Some would be tempted to say so. While the map size might overwhelm some players, it remains an easy game to mainline with the right navigation mode turned on. In fact, the quick load times help to make this an even easier task than in previous generations. This is an iteration of Assassin’s Creed that has a bit of everything from the previous games, as refined as we have seen to date.
