Jun 6, 2018A bundle of great ideas and characters, shackled by some abysmal mechanics.
-
Jun 4, 2018Dontnod takes a thrillingly Gothic perspective on early 19th century London, but squanders it in a dreary and indecisive adventure.
-
Jun 4, 2018The idea of being a vampire stalking the streets of early 20th century London seemed like such a cool idea, but the game's poor execution on almost all fronts is egregious. Vampyr has almost no good qualities, and any that you can squeeze out of it are far outweighed by the negative qualities.
-
Jun 6, 2018I’ve played Vampyr on and off for a solid week and so far I’m enjoying myself immensely. Trouble is, I just can’t bring myself to murder anyone.
-
Jun 4, 2018It is astonishing that Vampyr is a new, full-priced video game being released in the year of our lord 2018, and not some obscure PlayStation 3 title that developed a cult following and sells for slightly more than you’d think on Amazon. I mean this—I promise—as a compliment.
-
Jun 10, 2018A bit of a janky game...A bit messy on a technical level...But I can't deny that I'm having a giggle with it. Sincere, heartfelt fun.
-
Jun 10, 2018Vampyr is a messy game, with frustrating combat and systems like crafting that soon become a chore. But the characters and their stories make it worth pushing through.
-
Jun 4, 2018Vampyr is a remarkable game that gives me genuine hope for the future of single-player RPGs. What it lacks in polish, it makes up for in ambition.
-
Jul 3, 2018The new game from the developers of ‘Life Is Strange’ writes checks for ambitions it can’t cash, but it’s worth the ride.
