Jun 29, 2021A brief jaunt through a side story in the Star Wars universe is made better with some sky-high production values and some fun lore drops. Don’t expect a ton of interactivity, though it is fun to throw Stormtroopers around with the Force. A nice side mode allows for endless lightsaber battles, but the main draw is Vader himself, delivered by the game in all of his intimidating glory.

Sep 24, 2020Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series is a good starting point to explore that galaxy far, far away through virtual reality. However, the main value lies in the presentation and the value of the source material, rather than the game itself.

Sep 15, 2020With Vader Immortal, ILMxLAB offers a nice VR experience that allow the player to really feel like the Dark Lord, with it's lightsaber and it's force powers. On the other hand it still feels like an experience more than a game, and is there fore very short, with a pricetag that seems a bit hefty.

Sep 23, 2020Vader Immortal: a Star Wars VR Series is practically a video game amusement park attraction, and I mean that in terms of length as well. But it’s still an enjoyable experience that will delight every fan of Lucas' opera omnia for a couple of hours.

Sep 17, 2020An interesting (but too short) action adventure game based on the Star Wars franchise which holds a really nice setting and art direction… but a really annoying Move control system.
-
Oct 5, 2020Star Wars' universe is always fascinating, but Vader Immortal's gameplay feels lackluster and like a missed opportunity.
-
Sep 18, 2020A small story that serves well to introduce new users to the world of virtual reality, but the experience of Vader Immortal is unfortunately very limited and gives very little reason for a new game, after having reached the end credits.

Sep 14, 2020This is an interactive Star Wars movie that hasn’t really been able to transition successfully to PSVR. Gameplay-wise feels flawed, although it manages to tell us a good story with some memorable moments.

Sep 10, 2020Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series is the first Oculus game to arrive on PlayStation VR. Divided into 3 episodes of approximately 45 minutes each, it offers an original story located between episodes 4 and 6 of the saga, in the presence of the Sith Lord Dark Vader on the planet Mustafar. On PS4 Pro, the experience displays very nice graphics, of course before the Oculus Rift version but quite similar to that of the Quest. Unfortunately, the teleportation and the angular rotation imposed in an unfair way, also spoil the immersion and some sequences in automatic movement allow to appreciate the environments at their true value. The proximity of the various characters is however pleasant; a handful of force fights are memorable but it all ends far too quickly. A scripted experience that will certainly appeal to die-hard fans of the Star Wars saga, but less so to others as many PS VR games have done much better before it.
-
Sep 3, 2020Being able to wield a lightsaber and deflect laser blasts, or pull a Stormtrooper up close to skewer them, carries an appropriate amount of weight, and there are many moments where the trappings of VR fade away, and you feel completely integrated into the Star Wars universe. These transcendent moments are many, and when this experience is firing on all cylinders, it’s truly special. As a stepping stone for a more expansive follow-up, there is much reason for excitement looking ahead.
-
Aug 31, 2020An inferior experience to PC and Oculus, not in terms of graphics but the frustrating PlayStation Move controllers that make wielding a lightsaber more a pain than a pleasure.
