I think the game drags a bit in the 3rd chapter but thats my only problem with the story. I give it a 7/10 because i think, when it comes to re-play value it doesnt offer enough. Not really much mention of frame rate dips, clunky cover system, long drawn out cut scenes in reviews. Game mechanics we've seen so many times by now and poor multiplayer. I guess people get caught up in the hype, which is understandable. Personally disappointed with the ending but over all a good game.

The only reason I created A metacritic account was to tell everyone how horribly disappointed I am with this installment. I am a HUGE fan of the uncharted series and I loved the quirky characters and lightheartedness of the first 3 games. In my opinion, all this has vanished in this installment. Lots of walking and climbing, little in the way of action. And when you finally get to the action, it's not nearly as satisfying as it was in The Last of Us. This game's greatest strength is its story. When it comes to the game, it's not up to snuff. The graphics do look tremendous, at least.

Game I did not like the plot. It's just a copy story U2 and U3 of the game. Graphically, the game is very good. A lot of the game have to climb, it is tedious and not interesting.

Most of the reviews for this title seem to concentrate on how the game looks, rather than the experience. There is no doubt it looks stunning, even though some people might criticise the game for running at 30fps, it feels smooth throughout. There is absolutely no doubt the game is a well crafted and a lot of time and passion has gone into giving the series it's final chapter. My problemsMost of the reviews for this title seem to concentrate on how the game looks, rather than the experience. There is no doubt it looks stunning, even though some people might criticise the game for running at 30fps, it feels smooth throughout. There is absolutely no doubt the game is a well crafted and a lot of time and passion has gone into giving the series it's final chapter. My problems with the game is that it is just so underwhelming. Once the credits rolled I looked back on my adventure, compared it against others of the series and felt hollow. The large scale ridiculous set pieces that the Uncharted series is known for are unfortunately sparse. As a result, it fizzles, instead of bangs. A damp squib. On top of this, the puzzles aren't nearly as well crafted, often only taking a small amount of thought to solve. Most of the game revolves around climbing, walking and shooting, which although was exciting in previous adventures, feels frankly dated. The storyline (no spoilers) does excel, due to Naughty Dog reigning it in a little. With the last of us Naughty Dog have seemed to really hone excellent characterisation and some more poignant, sentimental moments. The same applies here. Overall, the story is not quite as ridiculous as the other games. This foot planted in an element of (far fetched) reality does give it the grounding it needs, but does make it a little dull as a result. It's a good game, enjoyable no doubt. Just don't expect to be as blown away as the critics make out. Expand

The gameplay literally never changes thing up (except for that part where you play a different game), and at least one part of it, the climbing, is a dull mind numb. The story is a throwaway, and the cinematics are overly long and boring. I couldn't find myself caring about the characters, because I disliked the repetitive gameplay so much. The twists in the story aren't predictable, but they are dumb. In hindsight, I still never would have guessed them, and, yet, I wasn't surprised in the least. I was more focused on finishing this chore than enjoying the ride.

It is, however, an objectively good game. It's a beautiful environment, the voice acting is superb, and the world is huge. The multiplayer is great, and I've already put in half a day playing with friends. I enjoy the grind for rewards, as well as the PvP. There are some issues, like getting hung up on the map for a 5 or 6 seconds, but they are minimal and can be overlooked for great gameplay. I didn't expect to like the multiplayer more than the story for this game, though, and for that reason, it's a bit of a letdown.

Whilst you cant deny this is a nice looking game (the characters faces in particular are stunning) It all just boils down to another run of the mill run and gun jump and climb affair.

Uncharted 4 is not only the best Uncharted game, but possibly the best Playstation Console game ever made. The game scores nearly perfectly, but too many gun battles keep it from getting a perfect 10. Between story, graphics, audio, and over all gameplay, this game nails it on all accounts.

*Climbing is god aweful and boring after an hour. The problem is that climbing is 90% of the game...
*Controls are hella clunky especially in the car or when in cover as you clip way to often.
*Annoying when you can clearly see where you have to go but you have to interact with some meaningless object before having access to that area.

    Conclusion:
I get removing player agency for the sake of narration. However, when inconsistencies litter the whole damn world and everything around you breaks or explodes for no reason when they shouldn't, it just feels like you have your hands tied and have absolutely zero choice. So much effort into telling a story... and little to no gameplay... for the first 4 missions... really makes this an attention grabber. I mean... they are still teaching me how to cover and shoot on the 5th level of the game.

I am so disappointed in them for even producing this and they should be ashamed of it as well. A sign of an awesome game is that it grabs you and is exciting and makes you want to rush home to play it... and this game really lacks on both of these points. I have played some really terrible games in my time... but this one really ranks up there with the worst of them. I wouldn't even rent this or pick it up at a garage sale for a dollar... it is simply that terrible. Worst game ever. It offers nothing new to the franchise. Music is bland. The story is boring. Options are poor. This is the worst game i have ever played. Most people who play this are letting the previous game's in this franchise dictate how good this game is. Not worth the money i put down.

Whether you're looking for satifying storytelling, tense multiplayer, or a grand, treasure hunting adventure Uncharted 4 delivers. To make things even better it does so with some of the best graphics on the market.

Uncharted 4 is a gorgeous game. Naughty Dog has crafted some absolutely stunning scenery. The attention to detail in character animations and the the destruction of the game's set pieces make this a treat for the eyes. It's also a treat for the ears as well thanks to the excellent soundtrack and voice acting. The acting performances in this game required to bring the story and characters to life rival anything you can see on the big screen.

The story itself is an emotional ride. Seeing all these familiar faces again tugs at the heartstrings. Naughty fills the game with sweet moments between Drake and his brother, Elena, and even Sully. It serves as a powerful reminder as to why we fell in love with these characters in the first place. Naughty Dog manages to bring a satisfying conclusion to Drake's adventures.

From the gameplay side of things, everything is just as you would expect. Uncharted's mix of platforming, 3rd person cover shooting, and puzzle solving is still in place. This time around the environments are bigger leading to even more options in combat and more complex traversal scenarios. The only real change to Nate's parkour side is that now he has access to a grappling rope that allows him to do things like swing across large gaps. There are plenty of moments where you'll have to string it together with various other actions adding a little more spice to the standard platforming. Combat can get a little frustrating here and there thanks to enemies that have no problem bum rushing you. My favorite addtion to the gameplay has got to be the added emphasis on vehicles. Riding around the open (and gorgeous) Madagascar level and attacking various enemy outposts brought back fine memories of Halo. Looks like Sony might have taken a little inspiration from Microsoft's biggest series.

The multiplayer proves to be the best in the series yet. Tighter shooting, a nice selection of modes to set it apart, and excellent maps ensure for a satisfying competitive experience. The variety of tools you have at your disposal are great. The in-match currency you from things like kills allows you to have access to them in a way that feels fair and reasonable. The way the maps make use of the series' platforming mechanics allow for an even wider range of possibilities in combat. Players who take the time to learn everything are sure to be rewarded.

There's also a solid survival mode that's been added to the game since release. It doesn't really do anything different than your average horde mode clone, but it's still a decent distraction and genuinely rewards teamwork. Plus it comes with it's own set of trophies. It's a nice, if fairly unoriginal edition.

Overall Uncharted 4 is an excellent fairwell to Nathan Drake. Whether or not the series continues on from here with a new protagonist, Naughty Dog ensured that they sent of their original hero with a bang. It's not likely to disappoint fans and is a huge exclusive for the PS4. While not revolutionary, it's still a game that pulls out all the stops. Proving sometimes familiarity isn't a bad thing. At least not when it's executed this well.

Having played every Uncharted except the PS Vita game, I can say firmly that Uncharted 2 and 3 are the best starring Nathan, perfect 10s. Uncharted 4 has the best, most personal story, but the pacing is off and the gameplay, though it has a few bright spots, is overall just average. There is nothing like the tremendous set pieces of Uncharted 2 or 3, or of Lost Legacy.

There is nothing like the tremendous set pieces of Uncharted 2 or 3, or of Lost Legacy.

So bottom line, Uncharted 4 has the best graphics of any Uncharted (except Lost Legacy), ties the characters' relationships up nicely. It's excellent with character. It also provides a better motivation for Nathan to go on his quest, with a surprising twist about 2/3 through in terms of character and plot - so if you cut it into a movie (leaving out all the ordinary gameplay) it would make the best movie of any Uncharted game, but when you play it you DO have to play through all the running and jumping and gunfights, and in this game - except for the excellent sword fight toward the end and a few other bright spots - the gameplay is not bad, but it just isn't up to par with 2 and 3, or Lost Legacy.

Lost Legacy deserves it's own place. It stars Chloe Frazier and Nadine. Nathan doesn't even appear. The characters relate in a grittier more realistic way than Nathan's games. Nathan will nearly lose his life 5 times in a minute, then chuckle when the danger is past and say something like, "Well that was close." Lost Legacy does not treat life threatening situations as lightly, so the game feels more real. The two co-leads also barely trust each other, which gives the game a good noirish feel. It also deserves a 10.

If you haven't played any Uncharted games, I would recommend 2, 3, and Lost Legacy, before playing 4. The first game, Uncharted 1, is about as good in terms of gameplay as 4, but without as good of a story.

    -Excellent graphics (at times).
-Cut scene’s, voice acting all excellent as usual.

    Con’s:
-Some sections glitchy and not to the same standard as others (as if made by different studios, or rushed) I assume this is down to the reported development issues.
-The stunning set pieces of UC2 have all but gone in UC4 and have been replaced by literally hours of rock climbing.
-Graphics are inconsistent, again as if made by different studios. Some areas/levels look as good as anything I’ve seen, then others (some sections in Scotland etc.) look of a lower standard.

Overall: I didn’t mind the slower pace, I love the Last of Us and at times UC4 played more like this, however the development issues showed in places. The ridiculous amount of climbing/platforming as opposed to the series trademark set pieces was disappointing. Overall I was ready to completely slam this, but they just about won me back with the last few hours and the excellent ending/epilogue.

Good bye Unchartered, I’ll remember the games fondly but as with most series these days – you made one too many.

To be honest, I don't understand why this game is considered a masterpiece. Yes, It's an amazing action game, it's fun and easy to play. However, it feels like a really good hollywood blockbuster: you definitely get what you pay for, you have great fun playing it, but once you finished it - you forget about it. It's just a great action game to play on weekend.

Chapters 1-2 has already been worth the money for me as an experience and Chapter 3 brings you 15 years to the future and into a beautiful vast underwater water that got me bubbling with excitement. The feeling of epicness, disbelief and grand sense of adventure and character investment has gotten me real excited to be continuing this franchise and I’m glad they have already released another game after this. As always PS4 delivers and I’m sure this will go down as one of the greats/ must-plays once I am done!

Edit: Chapter 7 ( more than a several hours in)
Game does not seize to amaze. I need to put this out there because frankly non-gamers would not appreciate what i have to say and if my review gets one person to buy this game, i'll feel like i gave back to this game. First, I am not easily impressed and sometimes i forced myself to be optimistic in order to enjoy a game. Uncharted 4 makes me want to come back for more. It's split into nice, dense and thrilling chapters, each taking a very sharp but interesting turn in the plot which creates a very compelling story. The game play is mostly climbing objectively speaking but i am not tricking myself into saying that i was never bored once because the dynamics, the narrative that continues in the background and the gorgeous scenery makes the climbing feel epic and dangerous. Once you get through the jungle gym of a level, you'll feel a great sense of accomplishment. This was not the case in the order parts of the series. Also, the gun fights are much better. Covers are blown apart, AI are smarter, shooting feels better and overall it does not feel repetitive nor as if I was shooting against a target dummy. The way they integrate the same gameplay elements with part of the story which creates a much more intense experience is super impressive. Hey, i'm not the best at explaining, just know its good and i'm not overselling it, get the game yourself and find out. With the sales this game has, there is NO excuse to "safe this for later" or "be in the mood" for it because frankly, this takes what you love from the old series, takes it to another level and removes the junk. 10/10 0 I'm glad i have been able to experience this game and it has given me inspiration to try other top PS4 games that i put off.

First, play the game and see and then bombard Naughty Dog with pleads and bribes to see if they would be willing to keep this fantastic series going.

This is the second best entry in the series in my opinion. The first game, Drake's Fortune, still retains the top spot because it introduced us to this Tomb Raider/Indiana Jones hybrid and caused millions to fall in love with its characters and, almost more importantly, it's scenery.

Uncharted has always been a series filled with beautiful locations that, graphically, always pushed the console to its limits. Uncharted 4 is no different and is quite possibly the most beautiful looking game I have ever played. As Drake swings from mountain side to mountain side, take a second and really take in what Naughty Dog has been able to create.

In typical Uncharted fashion, Drake is on the hunt for a treasure. This time, new faces are joining him for the ride in form of his brother Sam. There's a reason these brothers are reunited and through a series of flashbacks, playable, of course, you will get the full story of it all. This game dives into Drake's past which is fitting as we haven't really had much a glimpse into it save for a short flashback chapter in Uncharted 3. This game's script was co-written by Neil Druckmann who was the talented writer behind The Last of Us, so you know the dialogue is good and feels will be had.

If you aren't a fan of platformer games, which I go back and forth on, then this game may not appeal to you. I feel there is much more jumping from rock to rock, for example, in this game than in previous installments. However, they have made it more interesting by adding new tools that you can use. The one thing the Uncharted games were always good at was allowing you to feel in control during pivotal moments in the game. This one is no exception.

If you've played Uncharted 1-3 this game is a must play. It's still unclear as to whether this will be the last in the series, but the story will satisfy you but also leave you wanting more.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Uncharted 4: Thief's End is final game in Uncharted franchise and in many ways, it is the epic conclusion and the best game in the series.

Story leads towards huge pirate treasure and unites Nathan Drake with his brother Samuel Drake. Nate will be in tough spot in so many ways. His brother needs help but same time it makes him to lie to his wife Elena. Even though Nate gets help from his good friend Victor Sullivan, he soon finds out that he will be faced against cold and cruel Rafe Adler.

Everything that has made series wonderful, is here in this game. Action is extremely intensive and story very immersive. Adventure elements like climbing and puzzle solving are all done very well. This game might just have best puzzles in whole franchise and action has so many variable elements, that it will never be really boring.
Environment is same time players friend and foe. Long grass and water help to flank enemies, but in same time, many covers will eventually break under heavy gunfire.
Weapons have many variations and give player chance to use different tactics in combat. You can be more action oriented or more stealth oriented many times.

Adventure is one very atmospheric part of the game and also huge part of the story. Environments will differ a lot and game is gorgeous in graphical department.
Story itself is same time very dramatic and very easygoing and funny. There is times when its all fun and games, but other times it is much more dramatic with themes like brotherhood, marriage and loyalty. All this will end is more epic way than ever before in the franchise.

If there is something negative in this game, it is mostly just nitpicking. Some parts of the story should have had more focus in them. Some parts of the story feel like they had too little time in them.
Action - Adventure phasing is much better than ever before, but it could always be a slight better.
Then there is these new features. I especially like these conversation moments where you choose what to say. It would have been so cool if there would have been much more of those.
Treasure hunting might sometimes feel very frustrating since levels are this time much larger than before.
Biggest thing might be that when compared to many other games, Uncharted 4 is short. But is has very good phasing, great atmosphere and wonderful story.

One very positive part of the game is in bonus content like: Unlimited ammo, and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Overall Uncharted 4: Thief's End might very well be best game 2016.

    + Action
    + Adventure
    + Story
    + Humor
    + Bonus functions

    - Feels short

I was very intrigued when I first saw the trailers for this game: great graphics and this time around you even get to drive vehicles! But the driving parts of the game are very limited and you have to go exactly where the game wants you to go, there's no freedom to drive around as you wish.

The hit and miss pieces can get a bit frustrating too, for instance you have to jump out of the car and grab a ledge just before falling to your death. It's all about trial and error, and try again... untill you know ahead of things what will happen and what you're supposed to do.

The story of Uncharted 4 is nice, it tells you about what happened when Nathan was a kid, and near the end of the game Nathan's wife even joins him on his journey. I like how our action hero struggles with marriage and the b*tching of his wife, it almost makes him feel like a real human being.

Uncharted 4 is still a good game and very well made indeed, but for me it feels like more of the same old stuff and there is really no replay value at all. Luckily there is also the online multi-player part which is rather enjoyable but lets face it, Uncharted is not the best shooter game around on PS4.

But for the time you spend with it you will have a blast and you can't play this game without just pausing and appreciate the attention to detail in every aspect naughty dog has put into this game.
Nate will get dirty when sliding in the mud and the mud will wash off when he jumps in the water, the comments from your partners make sense and make them feel alive, and the set pieces are some of the best I've seen in any game.
The locales are also diverse. Storywise it is a bit cliche but very passable.
But in the end the only new thing it brings is a grappling hook a lá Rise of the Tomb raider and refined gunplay compared to the older titles. If you like the old titles you will like this game. I have beat it on hard, then replayed some chapters to catch some trophies, I spent some 20h or so in sp (I explore every nook and cranny) and some time with mp but I feel now I'm done with it for atleast a few years. That beeing said, it was very well spent 20h for me and I feel I got my moneys worth on the SP alone.
Drawback... well it's on ps4 only for one, I'd love to see this game on pc at 60fps and with performance bringing the already beautiful locations and gameplay to life even more.
No but actually apart from some minor typical console AAA attributes like having the controls ripped from the player in a slow walking looking at stuff or follow this NPC sequence, there isn't much to complain about.

The swan song that the franchise deserves, Uncharted 4 wraps up Nathan's story as well as answers questions that long time fans have been asking over the years. A bitter-sweet end to one of my favorite action adventure games, but one that left me satisfied with an ending that I'm grateful for.

In Uncharted 4 we find an aging Nathan who has retired from his treasure hunting day job along with now wife: Elaina Fisher. Since the events from Uncharted 3, the two have given up on the danger and adventure for a life of legitimacy. It quickly becomes clear that Nate's "adventures" working in salvage can't quite replace uncovering the riches of the world's most legendary treasures. So when Nate's brother Sam shows up after being presumably dead for the last 15 years, and explains that he can only regain his freedom with the treasure of 17th century pirate, Henry Avery, the two set out for one final adventure.

The attention to detail and mastery of lighting here is ridiculous
Everything in this game is in real time.
Uncharted 4 is a masterpiece in that it's currently the best looking game I have seen on the Playstation 4 thus far. Much like my initial reaction to Naughty Dog's The Last of Us from a few years back, Uncharted 4 is now the game to beat in terms of graphic fidelity on the Playstation 4. From its minute details in vegetation; the effect that wind and water have on hair-and-clothing; to the pores on Nate's face, the attention to detail in this game is phenomenal. As expected, there are still plenty of set pieces to show off here with dynamic backdrops, living environments, and elaborate level designs. With a cast of cautious and matured characters, the game is grounded in a more realistic aesthetic. This shifts the game to a more serious tone rather than the lighthearted feel of the series's first three games. With a more serious approach, I felt it easier to empathize with Nate and the predicament he finds himself in. Nate is at a crossroads, and must make some very difficult choices concerning his life and the people he cares about.

Variety seems to be the theme among Uncharted 4's mechanics. You are encouraged to switch between play styles in not only combat but while making your way through the chapter as well. For many players in previous installments, melee combat became mashing square to attack followed by mashing triangle to counter-attack. Rinse and repeat to clear virtually any area of enemies (difficulty willing of course) creating a stagnant experience. Instead, you are told to roll out of attacks DarkSouls style, mashing triangle only when grabbed. This change alone opens up combat for a more varied play-style, encouraging quick changes between melee attacks, gunfire, and now more opportunity for stealth maneuvers. New items are introduced to Nate's arsenal as well, adding depth and variety not only to combat, but to traversal. Combined with seamless transitions between animations, the result is fluid and fast paced gameplay with your choice of how to approach your target.

With the addition of the grappling hook and the piton, or pick, comes new ways to get around through the game's many environments. This often results in multiple routes to the end goal depending on your play-style. These items also add a new layer of depth to the game's puzzles and trials. Stealth is now a valid option for clearing large portions of chapters if you choose. Nate has no problem sneaking around or diving behind crates and walls to quietly take out foes with refined controls reminiscent from The Last of Us. Your partner's AI capability is also carried over here aiding you in combat, they will even take out a foe or two quietly if it means they are close to blowing your cover. To further aid in stealth, tall patches of grass were added, allowing Nate to keep low and quickly sneak past groups of enemies unseen. This doesn't slow Nate down or break the pace of combat as much as you may think as this mechanic was clearly designed with Nate's speed and agility in mind.

    What would Drake say?
What would Drake say in this situation?
Despite its deserved praise, unfortunately no game is without flaws. A feature that I was looking forward to was the idea of player choice within dialogue. The feature is used four times: three times in the beginning of the game; with the fourth within an optional conversation and then seemingly abandoned with no difference in outcome, story, or gameplay. The addition of player choice or even multiple endings would have been a nice break from the familiar linear progression we are used to in the Uncharted franchise. Without

Many will find the game slow to start and cut scene heavy until gameplay picks up around the second act. This isn't necessarily a bad thing depending on what kind of gamer you are. Those that are playing for U

Rafe and Nadine were also introduced very well as strong antagonists. Rafe totally stole the show though. He was a genuine sociopath; I could tell he was off from the get-go. I would not want to cross that guy in real life. I really learned a lot about Henry Avery, Thomas Tew, and all of the other pirates that were presented in the game. People that do say that it is repetitive are probably sick and tired of this game type. And surely it doesn't bring anything truly new to the table. That doesn't mean that the game isn't varied on it's own.

It's taking place is varied landscapes in different all beautifully crafted locations. Touchin multiple continents and climates. The scenery will definately not bore you.

There are basically 2 story lines. Mild spoilers ahead i do try to keep them at a minimum.

The main one is basically help your brother which is in or getting into trouble.
This i find rather bland from a story perspective but it is very well executed there are plot twists which i surely didn;t care about. The plot twist doesn't change the direction nor the relations between characters. Which is rather odd.

Where the main story does really well is the delivery. Voice acting is on point, Facial expressions by far the best i've ever seen in any game. Just a glance is enough to tell the underlining emotions.

The second story is the on pirate captain avery. Which you will backtrack in order to find his treasure.
This story is very interesting. But it's delivered by clues hidden notes left corpses and most of it is in the last parts of the game. I don;t wanna spoil this just make sure you pay attention from Act 14 ish

It is probably the best action adventure of all time. So why didn't i give it a 10/10?
Well it doesn't do anything new or refreshing. It was very safe.
However the execution was pretty much perfect. performance, visuals, acting. the production value is quad A. Certainly a cut above the rest. But it sure doesn't win any originality contests.

Is it a masterpiece. Well from a technical standpoint without any doubt.
Should you buy it? Well if you own a PS4 you wanna see what this puppy can do right?
So just brace yourself and enjoy the ride.

Graphics & Cinematics: The best so far on PS4. Rather realistic, epically artistic and gorgeous. And physics in game is fantastic. In addition, cinematics like the motorcycle chase is splendid.

Music & Voice-Over: The voice-over is epic as always but the music is comparatively a bit unsatisfactory IMO.

Gameplay: I really can't judge this one since I didn't get my hands on it, but from what I saw I am pretty impressed, though sometimes some puzzles could be a little frustrating(for casual players like me :P). All in all the gameplay seems to be refreshing, including the MP.

Story: IMO, this is the weakest part of the game, and I believe my feeling has a lot to do with the lack of experiencing the sequels.
    1) Obviously UC4 is endowed with numerous nostalgic subtleties which would work perfectly on veteran players. Nonetheless, deprived of the nostalgia, the base story of this particular game is sort of lame IMO. It's decent but it seems to lack some sort of depth or real twist, making the story generally predictable in a way, especially in the latter half, where some chapters seem to be rather repetative. Personally I reckon that UC4 leans too heavily on the nostalgia than on the base story.
    2) UC4 definitely learns a lot from TLOU (Yep, I "finished" TLOU on Youtube too XD). While most of them blend in perfectly, some don't work out too well. TLOU was pretty impressive and those characters successfully passed their emotions to me, and the cinematics were literally my favorite parts. But when it comes to UC4, I find it kind of hard to literally attach to them emotionally. Plus, some cinematics are kind of awkward and tedious IMO.
3)But overall, it wraps up the franchise pretty well. I enjoy it.

Verdict: Though suffer some flaws, the game is still bloody epic with enormous details. Anyone own a PS4 shall get hands on this one(I believe it works best with the Drake Collection : ) I also recommend The Last Of Us).

Uncharted 4: A Thief's Ending is a great game, and the technical benchmark of this generation so far.

The latest (last?) game in the series is different from its forebears. After the unparalleled reception and success of The Last of Us, Naughty Dog this time crafted a more human story instead of one with mindless heroics, and constructed the game around the tale of two brothers, Nathan and Sam Drake. The game's narrative takes place a few years after the conclusion of Uncharted 3, when Sam Drake suddenly appears and drags Nate into another treasure hunt, this time searching for the treasure of one famous Pirate. Elena and Sully return to accompany Nathan into his last (?) adventure. The story of the Pirates is inspired by historical facts and heavily exaggerated upon, but interesting nonetheless.

Gameplay is expanded upon the classic Uncharted formula. Now you can also slide the terrain, drive a jeep, and use a grappling hook in order to either climb or swing in the air, but the ability to pick up grenades and throw them back (as seen in Uncharted 3) has sadly been removed. Stealth is expanded relative to past games, and in higher difficulties it's vital. The levels are far more open and layered, while also featuring multiple paths. Pacing is varied, there are sections with full on action and others with peaceful exploration. The AI, both friendly and enemy, is much improved, and enemies try to co-operate to hunt you down when alerted.

Graphics are the game's best aspect. Every animation, every model, every texture, every leaf and tree and grass is highly detailed and best in class. The image is clean (no pixel shimmering), aliasing is minimal, and frame rate is very stable. There are also various graphical filters and modes, such as zero gravity and cel shading. Congratulations, Naughty Dog!

Sound is also great. All the characters are voiced superbly. Sound FX are perfect, and the soundtrack is just what the game needs. The Uncharted theme is timeless. Naughty Dog have also given us the most varied sound options, and the 7.1 surround support is phenomenal.

Multiplayer is also great, running at 60 fps. Naughty Dog should be applauded for its multiplayer suites, but don't get enough credit for their work. After the Factions multiplayer in The Last of Us, Uncharted 4's online mode is fantastic, with various modes and maps. They even added a new co-op Survival mode for free, essentially a Gears of War-like Horde mode for 3 players versus waves of enemies. People complained that the Uncharted collection had ditched the multiplayer of Uncharted 2 and 3, so Naughty Dog have recently added a map from Uncharted 2 (who knows, maybe we will get more of those in the future) to make up for it. It's the same layout as before but it has been upgraded to match the graphics of Uncharted 4.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's Ending is one of the best games ever made. Buy it and enjoy!

And one thing I wish I was told before going down this path is to not do the first play-through on Crushing. It is not as rewarding to beat the game on the hardest possible difficulty on the first try as it is in other games. The reason for that is because there is one key elements that is removed in Crushing that is available otherwise. That feature is the stealth mode. In Crushing, stealth mode is almost useless many of the times. U4 makes stealth a bigger part of the core gameplay in comparison to previous tittles. You are still able to stealth through certain levels and be able to maybe kill a few guards before essentially being forced to go commando, but the ability for guards to notice you in Crushing is significantly easier and there is no detection meter nor marking capabilities. If you really care to stealth 100% of the time then you may, but it will take a lot of practice without the two features mentioned prior. Not only is it excrutiating to stealth on Crushing, but there is no real reward for doing so. The game does not even encourage stealth gameplay like others do. For example, you will never find a silenced weapon and there is no penalty for going guns blazing shortly after the encounter started Please heed my advice and enjoy the game on another difficulty before Crushing on your first play-through. The game is absolutely beautiful and the story is amazing. I just wished I didn't play it on Crushing the first time so I could enjoy the game more. Expand

Often you'll stick to the wrong wall or simply roll past it out into the open to be destroyed by the enemy....on the flip side, when you don't want to stick to something you'll get caught on a corner when running past.

The game seems to have focused on it's visuals and therefore skimped on gameplay and it's AI. Often times your friendly AI will run out in front of the enemy without being noticed (thank god), or moonwalk while running into the enemy without attacking them...clearly rather than fix this, the devs just went with the choice of pretending the friendly AI doesn't exist in the eyes of the enemy. The enemy AI has no TRUE AI, they just simply adapt to what you are actually doing not what they should perceive what you are doing. Turning up the difficulty simply dials up their "spidey senses". Even when they should not know where you are, they know EXACTLY where you are and what direction you are looking no matter what. It's so bad and predictable I ended up using it to my advantage. When an enemy wouldn't come out of cover, I'd look away and then look back....guess who was standing there. The forced combat situations were horrendous and killed what was an otherwise great game.

Overall the first 75% or so of the game was excellent, but towards the end of the game the story gets lost (the entire early plot of the game just gets lost and pushed to the side) and it seems like they then start relying on forced combat situations to "extend" the game. It feels cheap and they should have ended the game 25% earlier....if so, it'd be nearly a perfect game. Luckily, the game isn't meant to be a combat experience, but a narrative. In the narrative portions of the game, it shines, it's only when they cave to the forced combat filler that it really suffers. Fans of the series should play it....others should avoid it.

Side note: This game is often compared to Rise of the Tomb Raider. For comparison, RotTR FAR exceeds UC4 from a gameplay perspective, so if gameplay is important to you, play RotTR. However, UC4 slightly edges out RotTR in story-telling/voice acting. It's the opinion of this reviewer that the scores on metacritic don't reflect this simply due to fanboy bias.

Retorno a la senda del 2 con una historia muy buena y con alguna escena de accion más que trepidante. De echo es el juego con más escenas de persecucion accion supervivencia más adrenalinico que he tocado nunca. Sinceramente un gran juego de un jugador.

    Third Person Shooter/Action Adventure

    Was it fun?

Yes, Uncharted games are just well made and in my opinion this is the best one.

    Are there any similar games?

It reminded me a lot of the newest Tomb Raider series.

    Favorite Character?

Before Sully was a favorite of mine but in this game, he had a much smaller role. I still really like Nathan but I was not a big fan of his brother Sam. Even when you first meet Sam, I just never trusted him.

    Favorite World/Stage?

I guess, I’ll talk about my favorite chapter. It was Chapter 16, where you go back in time and learn about the brothers past. It was interesting and well done.

    Would you play it again?

No, as much as I enjoyed playing this game. I’m okay with playing through it the one time.

    Any Complaints?

    I honestly don’t have a single complaint.

How many hours did you play it?

Its hard to say, I would guess that I played somewhere around 12-14 hours.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Visually & Technically decent, even gorgeous at some moments, but short, empty, repetitive and a bit boring.

Looks so nice, like no other videogame currently at the market.
Have great things, specialy the fast chasing moments.
Many Little nice details here and there.

But thats it, here the regular and bad things:

1.- The game is very short and easy (Even in hard mode), is the kind of game apealing to the casual gamer and the poser wanting to show of theyr console or theyr TV.

2.- The ending is incredible mediocre, empty and rushed, same happen to many other áreas.

3.- Some misions are just giant pieces of map with few sprinckles of few little details here and there, it shows the lack of time, talent and compromise, just like MGS5, big dead areas with not so much to do.

4.- Expect some bugs and chashing in certain áreas, the game is not so good polished at all.

5.- The Main sites of Videogaming gave this title 10's and 9's, A lie must be a crime too with this kind of things, just like the case of No mans Sky, you cant recomend something mediocre to the people without consecuences, you cant lie and say or write that something is worthy when the truth is that this is about a 7-8 game, that may rise suspects about the critics geting payd to tell some lies.

    Bottom Line:
If you are a experienced Gamer This is not a 9+ game, dont make your expectations so high with this one.

By the other hand if you are new to the Uncharted series or new at PlayStation consoles then give it a try, but waith until the current Price drops and get it in resale, this is not a $60 product.

Uncharted is, perhaps, the best game i ve ever played. Gorgeous balance between drama and adventure. This game definitely deserves to be played and can be considered as a full cultural phenomenon.

The single player to me is the only thing that saves this game from being a complete disappointment. The multiplayer however is a joke. There seems to be no sign of matchmaking, only 3 modes for multiplayer at release (Which i will not forgive since uc3 came with more on release AKA classic & co-op mode), lobby bugs which can just not start the match at all at times, and overall the gameThe single player to me is the only thing that saves this game from being a complete disappointment. At any rate i would rather go back to UC3 Expand

Don't know how a lower score game with no content (Overwatch) beat this for GOTY. both got free content just that one has a story and the other is online only.

Uncharted 4 is a self-aware action/adventure romp. It knows its strengths and its weaknesses. The graphics are some of the best I've seen on a console, characters are mostly believable and the action continues at a workable pace throughout. As far as gameplay, the climbing could become annoying if you don't enjoy variations of the same thing. For the most part, I could understand whyUncharted 4 is a self-aware action/adventure romp. Everything else such as the shooting and movement is very well-done. The story is in service of the action, which is what a good action film should be. Expand

Uncharted 4 is a landmark title that anyone remotely interested in interactive storytelling should invest in. Naughty Dog has once again raised the bar across the industry. Thrilling shootouts, a staggering level of detail, breathtaking visuals and emotional depth come together to make Uncharted 4: A Thief's End a must-play masterpiece.

Stating that the forthcoming game will be the last rendezvous with a popular, charismatic hero is a rare phenomenon. I congratulate Naughty Dog on their courage and in spite of myself keep my fingers crossed for them to stick to their decision. The farewell party they threw for Nate is simply spectacular. This is how I want to remember him, not as an old man who rubbed his joints with pain cream and then found a UFO. Uncharted 4 is a brilliant game and a breathtaking demonstration of what PS4 is capable of. [07/2016, p.56]
