I think the game is the best in the series. The game is okay, good at sometimes, but I wouldn’t call the gameplay great.

Amazing how Naughty Dog managed to achieve this visuals on the PS4. The gameplay has been improved over the past games. Story is great, immersive and challenging on the harder difficulties, especially the sword fight at the end of the game. Only downside is that some missions feel too linear.

Well, it is just another Uncharted game, as in, they are delivering the same thing for the fourth time with a different story. I don’t think franchises need to reinvent the wheel at every installment but given how shallow Uncharted gameplay has been it is baffling Naughty Dog manages to get away with how their games (movies cough cough) work.

Automatic climbing and cover system shootouts as it always have been. You have a grappling hook now, that sounds awesome and perfectly matches the game right? No! When the “platforming” is so automatic it becomes unfulfilling; the grappling hook only works when you see a prompt button on the screen so it is just a fancy way to press X and see the game play itself. I’m not joking when I say the game should be an all-out platformer making rewarding to get on top of a big ass tower, but the challenge was never an option with Uncharted and it sure as h*ll wouldn’t be in the fourth game.

The cover based shootouts returns again despite being the biggest sin when it comes to third person shooters games. Press the button that magnetizes you to cover and wait for the enemy to voluntarily expose their head, rise and headshot they yaaaay! It is funny when you don’t realize the correct flow of the fight and wanders all around the battlefield being showered with bullets until you find your precious piece of wood to protect you. If something, I feel like shooting is even worse in this game: the crosshair movement is off and if you pre-aim before hiding behind cover when you get up again your pre-aim is gone.

It is easy to realize the gameplay is a mere accessory in Uncharted and the best example is the chapter 4, right at the beginning. You start at your attic and inspect some memorabilia reminiscent of Nathan’s adventures on the previous games (which is a nice fan service to be honest), then you play with a Nerf gun shooting some targets (for some reason) and your wife calls, a really mundane sappy moment worth of your everyday romance sitcom occurs and she challenges you to play Crash Bandicoot for PS1… which you do! From Nathan’s perspective watching the TV you have to beat Crash first stage, and this is the most challenging thing the game has to offer. The story goes on for the chapter but the only thing the player really has done is playing discount Crash for PS1!

Remember desperately mashing the buttons to skip the cutscenes/story in older games so you can actually play the f*cking thing? I’m pretty sure Uncharted fans would do the other way around, trying to find a way to skip the gameplay sections instead.

So yes it is a “sToRy gAmE”!!!! It follows the same Indiana Jones/National Treasure trope used in previous installments: a historic figure did something and hid clues to find something, then a clue leads to a puzzle that when solved leads to another clue and so on so forth until the mystery is revealed. This narrative model is pretty appealing (although in a cheap way) and the player is compelled to know what will happen next, even though the dialogues can be cheesy at times and characters are overall stereotypical. It is a clichéd text yes, but I can see it working with most people.

Let’s wrap it up giving the credit where it’s due: graphically the game is a work of art! So many times you can stop to appreciate the scenery (the first scene in chapter 5… my God!) given how beautiful the game looks; the “world traveling” narratives also guarantees a lot of different landscapes to behold. And the facial expressions… I’m sorry for every company trying to rival Naughty Dog on this regard.

So Uncharted 4 doesn’t surprise anyone and I wouldn’t buy this game to save my life! I only played because it was the PS Plus freebie of the month and had nothing to lose. However it remains as the most story based game of them all to the point where the gameplay doesn’t really matter, Naughty Dog frankly doesn’t care and neither do the fans. The fact Uncharted next project is going to be a straight up movie speaks volumes about the series, at least they’re being upfront this time around.

This was partly in reaction to all the trolls and jealous Xboxers who were giving it 0 scores but having now completed the game I'm slightly disappointed. It's a good game but didn't quite live up to the hype and my own expectations. I'll explain why..............

I just didn't enjoy it as much as the other games in the series. One of the things that made the Uncharted series great was that it took games closer to the movies then ever before. It raised the bar for cut scenes, writing, cinematic set pieces ect. They managed to tell great stories and they looked like fantastic action movies but they never forgot they were games because the balance between game and movie was perfect. In U4 however I feel ND have gone too far trying to make it like a movie and the pacing feels too slow. Far too much time is spent where you just slowly walk/drive about doing banal things such as pressing triangle to look at stuff or pushing a crate against a wall. Sure, the previous games had sections like this too but because there were less of them they weren't as boring, they were actually a nice change of pace and they complimented the action better and I stress again they managed to tell great stories without overkill of these slow sections.

I also didn't feel there were as many OMG set pieces in U4 although there were a couple of good ones.

The story was good but the tone seemed a bit confused. In the first half it teases the player with the promise of a darker, deeper story and more fleshed out characters then before but never fully goes through with it. It can't seem to decide if it want's to go down this route or stick with the trademark Uncharted death defying one liners and witty banter.

Many of the action sections, especially early on lacked excitement and tension because of the OTT handholding and overgenerous restart points. Then the game will throw a big difficulty spike at you. It seems to go from one extreme to the other. Lastly, it all just felt strangely predictable and formulaic. I just seemed to know when a gun fight was coming, when a bridge was going to collapse, what plot twist was coming etc.

I must stress again it is a good game; Excellent graphics and script, gameplay pretty polished (if not perfect). I enjoyed U4 but there was still a feeling of being underwhelmed by the whole thing; I never had the heart racing excitement or jaw dropping spectacle I had from the earlier games. Maybe after 4 games I've just got Uncharted fatigue - what once was fresh and exciting is now a bit trite and predictable to me.

93/100 is an awfully high review for a non-open-world 3D platformer. I liked this game a lot the first time I played it in when it was called "Rise of the Tombraider." I just recently purchased a PS4 so that I could not only experience this title, but the other PS4 exclusive titles. Thus far, I'm finding that I wasn't missing much.

This is by no means a bad game at all. I paid $15.00 for it, which I consider a bargain. It's probably worth about $40.00. But to give this game a rating that puts it in the realm of "Witcher 3," "Red Dead Redemption 2," or even "Far Cry XX" territory is absurd. This game is Tomb Raider with a male protagonist and more gunfights (a lot more gunfights). It does a lot of things well, but it also does a lot of things not so well. It's an average game, basically.

For example, I mentioned the gunfights. They're pretty ridiculous. You're a God-like bullet-sponge that can absorb infinite damage assuming you're able to scurry behind cover after every tenth gunshot wound. The gunfights aren't not-fun I suppose. They're basically whack-a-mole style like Gears of War. What bothers me is that you can tell the game wants you to try a stealth approach in lieu of many (but not all) of the gunfights. This stealth approach involves sneaking up on enemy gunmen and strangling them to death. To help you in this task, they utilize the tall-grass-hiding mechanic from, among other games, the Assassin's Creed series. The problem is, however, that you can't beckon enemies to your hidden location like you can do in every other game with stealth mechanics. So, basically, you're hidden in the tall grass with an enemy perhaps five feet away, but you can't whistle or throw a rock to beckon them towards you. You just have to hope that they amble towards you and fall into your trap like a spider and a web.

Because of the useless stealth mechanics detailed in the immediately preceding paragraph, you often have to dart out from cover and strangle enemies to death in full view of the world. Your hope is that you won't fall into the viewing radius of any of the other enemy APCs while doing so. There's not really any good way to thwart this possibility. The Hitman series does a great job with this by providing you with a map that reveals the enemy NPCs line of sight. This games doesn't do that at all. It's basically just dumb luck if you murder an enemy NPC and don't get caught. What's worse, if you're trying to be stealthy, then you're necessarily behind enemy lines. So if you do alert an enemy NPC in your attempt, then they'll all immediately and simultaneously open fire on you. You're at a strategic disadvantage at that point because, like I said, you're behind enemy lines. Stealth in this game, basically, doesn't work.

So you have to go in guns blazing Gears of War style like I stated earlier. If they made it so you could silence the guns like in Far Cry or Tomb Raider, it would've made a massive difference in the game play experience. But they didn't. Anyway, the next issue is the game's overall style.

It's not open-world. It's not even close. The levels give you the impression that they're massive and lend themselves to exploration, but you'll soon find that they're not. This is a linear platformer. The little subworld aren't even as big as Tomb Raiders. This is basically the on-rails style of Gears of War coupled with the climbing/platformer of Tomb Raider.

Like I said earlier, this isn't a bad game. The graphics are decent, but not over the top. The water graphics are straight-up hideous, and this is my assessment after playing on a PS4 Pro. The voice acting is very good, and I liked the characters. That's not a small compliment either - that's the game's best asset, and it's the reason why I would recommend giving this game a shot.

But, in the end, this isn't a "93/100." If I'm being charitable, I'd give this game a 77/100.

It is incredibly well made. Production quality is off the charts, art direction, graphics, animations, sound, everything is top notch. Unfortunately it is not a very good game, its basic gameplay mechanics -- shooting, climbing, driving -- are very limited, repetitive, and boring. It's like somebody grabbed a little of Kill Bill, Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones, threw them in a bowl and baked a tasty pie.

While overall a great game, there were fairly severe plot holes abound. Your main antagonist seems to have an infinite supply of goons to throw your way and resources better than the US government altogether. Well, of course, right? you need to do something! when I go to the bank i'm fighting off hundreds of baddies myself...That's where the game fights with itself as it tries to be hyper-realistic. You are just a treasure seeker but no, also a mass murderer on global scales. At one point you are arguing about getting proper permits for simple retrieval job. The next you are mowing down hundreds of people followed up with a cutscene where Nathan is telling everyone to calm down and "can we talk?" It's so jarring to see Nate go from mass murderer to pacifist back to mass murderer. Yeah a lot of it is forced on him but it's still just so out of character.

The other problem is how enemies get to your destination leaps and bounds faster. Realistically, the missions that Nadine puts her Shoreline crew threw would take months of prep and planning. Going to other countries with thousands of soldiers and weaponry without a hitch??? Yet somehow, Shoreline will be there quicker than 3 guys on a small plane. I don't buy it for a second and it happens ALL. THE. TIME! Even Nate's wife (Elena) is a master tracker when the plot calls for it!

That aside...the game is just so much damn fun. If the story had been a bit more solid I could have easily given it (possibly) 10.

The acting is flawless (one slightly off kilter accent aside) as Troy Baker, Nolan North et al reprise their roles with aplomb. The story is easily the most entertaining with Drake's brother bringing a new depth to the story. The exploration is fun, with where to go well signposted with subtle clues and the locations well realised. In fact, the only sticking point for me, as with all Uncharted games, is the combat.

    It's just not fun.

Don't get me wrong this is a big improvement on earlier instalments it just goes on so long. Get in cover, shoot and increasing bullet spongy bad guys. Run out of cover to avoid seemingly limitless grenades. Get in cover. Rinse and repeat. My heart dropped every time I went into an area filled with low walls and red barrels.

Also, how on earth do these chumps keep rocking up to shoot at you in this super secret cave you had to solve puzzles and make death defying leaps to reach? Are there always fifty armed goons just following you at a nice distance swinging across collapsing masonry and leaping vast chasms!?

They should reduce the number of enemies by at least 50%. Make them sneakier, tougher, whatever you want just make the fights shorter so I can get back to the good bits please!

The story involves Nathan Drake going on one more adventure to look for pirate treasure, in an effort to save his older brother Sam. Typical Uncharted fare, though the addition of Nate's brother and the exploration of Nate's relationship with his wife Elena helped bring some depth to a main character that's always been fairly generic. The antagonists this time around were not as compelling as previous games. The character Nadine in particular felt like a "badass chick" trope that was thrown in to appease the feminists. The game itself was too long, and could have been 14 chapter game instead of 20. There were some overly long walk and talk sections, and many of the platforming sections started to repeat themselves. The gameplay remains a mix of combat with platforming and some puzzle solving. There are also some new Tomb Raider style mechanics in the pickaxe and the grapple rope. The platforming and puzzles are the series biggest strengths, and they are showcased well in this game.

Now on to the big bad of the game, and indeed the series in general: the combat. It's awful. All the worst aspects of the combat in 2 and 3 have been retained and amplified. First of all, the aiming. The camera controls have this weird acceleration lag that makes trying to aim at enemies a chore. This is exacerbated by the aim-down-sights sensitivity, which is way too high, even on a setting of 0. If you do manage to get your reticule on an enemy, they go into a little dodge animation that moves them to the left or to the right. If wrestling with the camera controls wasn't enough, they have to throw an extra curveball with this ridiculous dodge animation that requires you to adjust your aim a second time. When you do hit them, they play an exaggerated stagger animation that once again throws off your aim. The overall effect of all these compounding issues is a gunplay experience that is frustrating and not fun.

Playing on anything above normal turns enemies into sniping machines. They know exactly where you are at all times, even after you've broken line of sight with them. And the grenade spam... there hasn't been this much grenade spam since Call of Duty: World at War. Enemies are able to throw grenades with pinpoint accuracy, and at distances that exceed what is allowed for the player. Taking cover and dodge are bound to the same button. The game will often do one instead of the other, leading to many unintended deaths in gunfights. Your NPC teammates are useless. They frequently use up the best cover available. If you do share cover with them, they will push you out into the open or obscure your aim. The only thing they're good for is occasionally picking off an already weakened enemy.

So there it is, Uncharted 4. 6/10. A solid entry in the series with high production values and an enjoyable story, dragged down by it's gameplay ambitions and terrible combat.

GRAPHICS: Gorgeous and seamless with amazing set pieces, excellent character models and animations.

VOICE: The voice acting is top notch with Nolan North and Troy Baker working very well together. Exceptionally well acted all the way around.

SOUND: Excellent sound with fitting source to reception recognition.

SOUNDTRACK: Really exceptional music and use of it to create atmosphere. At one point when Nate and Elena are coming to grips with the difficulty and hurt of their relationship I was almost moved to tears - and for a cynic like me that is quite feat.

GAME PLAY: The shooting continues to be Uncharted as always but the use of the grapple, stealth tactics and, of all things, driving work is so well. I usually don't care for driving sections and usually that is a really weak aspect (looking at you Watch Dogs) but here it is done superbly to where I really enjoyed it.

REPLAY VALUE: I have not dipped into the multiplayer so I can't comment on that, but for me, like its predecessors, I have little desire to replay the title. Once the story is complete and all the puzzles solved I have no reason to replay the game. The multiplayer may provide that value, but I prefer single player games.

OVERALL: An exceptional title that anyone who likes action adventure games should pick up and play. Since it may only be worth a single play through one might want to borrow or rent it, however I recommend owning it, to support Naughty Dog and as a must have in a video game collection. It may be worth revisiting in a couple of years and the multiplayer may be worth having - your mileage may vary.

The combat is a bit tedious, more killing than a Liam Neeson revenge movie, but everything else was great. I even liked towing the stupid SUV.

In this regard, the game truly feels next gen.

My gripes with the game are the same as they've always been with this franchise. Its B-movie Indiana Jones blockbuster aesthetic makes me feel like I've been hanging out on a Hollywood film set for 16 hours rather than truly transported to some exotic locale, as I did with the Tomb Raider series.

The gameplay, while fluid and polished to perfection, is starting to grow a little stale. It's a good hodge podge of tried-and-true elements of a contemporary action game, with free running, stealth, cover shooting and just a bit of physics based platforming thrown in for good measure. While it suffers a bit from that on-rails feeling of these linear, narrative-driven games, it does offer a couple of different paths through each section to give the player some agency.

In all though, only the updated grappling hook / rope felt fresh to this programmer's thumbs. Compared to the graphical innovations, a lot of these gameplay elements felt archaic. One hopes for the day when such colossal technical and artistic labor is in service to gameplay that's more interesting than "press x a lot to climb this building and be sure to shoot all the bad guys in the head."

I’m usually not very fond of such titles, as they can often get lost in their movie-wannabe aspirations to the point of severely affecting the gameplay. Uncharted 4, however, won me over by combining pristine level design with an unusually slick amalgamation of gameplay and storytelling.

Like other games in the franchise, A Thief’s End is a linear story-driven adventure. It puts you in the shoes of Nathan Drake, who’s like a modern-era Indiana Jones (a somewhat smug, yet ultimately likeable treasure hunter). As the game begins, Drake has left his globe-trotting life behind him, and now has a happy marriage, a job, and a pretty much regular life. Of course, that generally does not a good story make, and soon enough unforeseen circumstances force our hero out of retirement.

My favorite thing about Uncharted 4 is how it manages to feel open and expansive in spite of its extreme linearity. The game spans many settings, from Italy to Scotland to Madagascar, and your path to each section’s main goal is filled with small environmental details and incredibly beautiful vistas. The nature of the gameplay organically guides you forward, and there’s not a single invisible wall to be seen. All of this adds up to a great sense of immersion, which is only broken by having to go through the same in-game dialogue each time you die.

There are basically two types of gameplay sections here. The best are focused on exploration, in which you’ll perform all sort of dexterous climbing and platforming, while continuously moving towards a goal. There are also collectibles to find in each area in the form of small treasures, which unlock cool novelties in the ‘bonus’ screen, such as graphical skins, sound effects, and gameplay addons.

The not so great sections are the ones which involve cover-based shooting. Don’t get me wrong; those can be kind of fun in small doses, but I felt Uncharted 4 features a bit too many of them. A plethora of different weapons, each with its own benefits and weaknesses, help to make things a bit more interesting, and there are a few genuinely exhillarating moments (such as a car chase that’s worthy of the most insane action flicks).

Of course, we’re talking about a story-driven game, so an action movie is very much what Uncharted 4 feels like. Surprisingly, this isn’t often to the detriment of the gameplay, as the spot-on level design means even the extreme action sections in which you don’t really do much feel superbly rewarding. The story itself is, well, an action movie’s story, meaning it’s at times fun and compelling, but also filled with some pretty egregious plot holes (such as the remote, ancient pirate recruiting challenge that obviously would need to be rebuilt from the ground up after each time someone failed it).

    TL;DR
Uncharted 4 is a fine final chapter to Nathan Drake’s adventures. The sense of immersion is excellent, which often makes you forget (or just don’t care about) the game’s lack of an extensive world to explore. Given that the best gameplay sections are precisely the exploratory ones, this is quite a feat of game design. Even though the storytelling isn’t without its cheap devices and plot holes, the writing is pleasant enough to round up a very nice package.

Graphics: Let's get the obvious out of the way: this games looks stellar. From facial animations (both in and outside of cutscenes), to textures, to lighting Uncharted 4 is one of the best looking games to date and a technical masterpiece.
Music & Sound: The music is pretty good with a couple of standout tracks, though the absence of the main theme from the previous three entries is odd, to say the least. The sounds are also pretty good all around, though not The Last of Us level.
Gameplay: Uncharted 4's gameplay is pretty on par with previous installments: it's fine. It has never been a series standout, though it is serviceable. However one big setback in this game are the setpieces. In true honesty I can only remember three of them (and they were great) which is a real shame coming from the amazing bombastic ones seen in Uncharted 2 and 3, and that had become a series staple. Unfortunately the puzzles are very easy and the stealth is not quite optimal. The car, rope and ladder where all good new additions to the franchise.
Story: Now this is the game biggest downfall. While the dialogue and moment to moment is fantastic, the overall narrative does leave a sour taste in my mouth. The decision to put Sam as the center of the story, an entirely new chatacter who is basically Nathan 2.0, instead of giving more room for Elena and Sully to shine is a real shame. Instead we get a not-so-interesting brother's tale, instead of focusing more on the much more interesting story of Nate and Elena's new struggles as a couple or the theme of giving it all up presented by Sully. That's not to say the game doesn't touch on those subjects, it's just that it prefers to give center stage to the least interesting of them. However the brief time we do get with Sully, and specially with Elena, is gold, which makes it even harder to then go back to Sam. Also the revelations about Nathan's past are a neat adition aswell. I'd also like to point out how completely unnecesary the epilogue is, and how much better it would've been without it. Another problem I have is not necesarily aimed at the game but to the marketing. All trailers and gameplays sugested at a darker uncharted, which turns out to be completely wrong, as it takes the light-hearted nature of the previous games, which made me really disapointed considering the expectations that had been set. I do really seem overly negative about the game, but don't fool yourselves: this is premium storytelling, better than almost all of the games on the market.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is a masterclass in technical achievement, even if it's story can't quite keep up with its visuals and sounds.
    Overall Score: 7.5

The most anticipated game for the PS4 delivers on all counts. Naughty Dogs final Uncharted game, presented on a grand scale! Epic storytelling, epic graphics, epic sound effects and music.

Nathan Drake returns from retirement to finish the works of what he and someone close to him set out to accomplish many years ago. The game reintroduces all time best side kick Victor Sullivan, his on and off again love interest Elena and a new character to find the fabled treasure of the penitent pirate Captain Avery.

Everything you loved about the previous titles is here. The difficulty in Challenging mode is real. The environment and level of detail is unprecedented. If you thought The Last of Us was an eye opener be ready to visit the next level. This is the kind of game that wishes you owned a PlayStation. Perfect game highly recommended.

The multiplayer is decent and introduces many new features that buffs your character. No longer are you required to camp out the respawning of power ups like the previous title, allowing a much better free flowing experience. Unfortunately at this moment there is no co-op missions such experienced in Uncharted 2. However it is early days with three upcoming DLCs already announced.

For the trophy hunters, expect a very easy platinum with a minimum of two play-thrus (a speed/accuracy run and a challenge mode run). The majority of the trophies can be acquired through chapter/encounter select. The game has 5 multiplayer trophies which can be acquired in less than 2 hours.

Enjoy this one, it's for the players.

(Ou uns spin-off?)

I really like the Uncharted series, including this, but they just don't hit me on a spiritual level like most other people. Still an amazing/must-play game.
I wish I'd played this on my new 4k tv because I'm currently playing the spinoff, The Lost Legacy, and the graphics are mind blowing.

One of the best PS4 exclusive. Combat is the same as other uncharted games. Story is great and a great end to the series probably behind Uncharted 2. Graphics is also good. The driving combat sequence is one of the best despite it being overly use by a lot of games.

I loved the first two uncharted games. The reason I bought a ps3 early on was just to play the first uncharted game. At the time it was ground breaking. It had a fantastic engaging story, great characters, brilliant set pieces and exciting gameplay.

Uncharted 4 has lost a bit of the magic that made it such a big game on last gen. It feels and plays like a last gen title. The story while decent doesn't have the thrill of the earlier games. Some of the sections feel tired and the smoke and mirrors that fooled us in the earlier games are now see through. For example when a building is crumbling and explosions are going off around you you know you can just push forward and press x to jump out of the way of any danger. At times I could predict that when I leaped to a platform it would break leaving drake hanging on for dear life, this caused a heart attack in the first game but now is utterly predictable.

The QTE slows the game down and often gets in the way of any fluidity. The QTE in the boss battle just wasn't fun at all.

Combat works well and I actually wanted more in the game as it felt you never really got into a good fight. The game wasn't challenging and some times I felt myself pushing on just to beat it and not out of fun.

This could all be down to fatigue, the same thing happend with GOD of War. These are great last Gen games but don't fit with the modern consoles. PS4 needs a fresh IP for ps4.

But the game was a nice little farewell to uncharted (although they removed the mystical elements that became a part of the series, even hinting at 'Ghost pirates' that we never got to see).

So I'm glad this is the last Uncharted (it took way too long to end! I think there was three endings, like Lord of the rings! The Last Of Us is the game that Naughty Dog rightly are focusing on next and after the brilliant first game I think it's the right direction for them to move in.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed most of the game but because it's such a short game compared to the real greats of this gen Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 and Witcher 3, it seems a lot to pay full price for 12 hours gameplay.

Multiplayer is terrible and always has been in the series and is just tacked on to please casual gamers who want a bit of online fun.

But Uncharted 4 truly is a AAA. It does look amazing and there was only one or two bugs I experienced playing. Controls work perfectly, combat is perfect and the music score is brilliant. It's the equivalent of a Summer Blockbuster big, good looking action but not much else.

The story (although just a modern Goonies!) works well and left me satisfied.

A lot of work clearly went into this game, and it really does look amazing! Vehicle sections are cool, climbing in the later levels is awesome in fact the last part of the game is phenomenal apart from the boss battle.

So it is far from perfect, but still a solid game. The weakest in the series next to UC3 (UC1 and 2 are still the best by far) but still high enough quality to have at least one fun play-through.

Buy it, but trade it two days later!

The only thing that lets it down for me is the repetitive gunplay and uninspired wave of enemies one after the other. I think aside that, the puzzles, exploration and INSANE action sequences (which are FAR better and more dynamic than any other quicktime event i can recall) are incredible. It's probably the most fluid and dynamic looking game around, the animation is world class also. I'd hope to see nothing changed moving forward for UC 5 except more diverse enemies and better and tighter gunplay.

The DLC is also a fun addition to play through as well.

If you watch a lot of action movies, you may be able to guess what is going to happen next. Nothing feels truly unique here (Tomb Raider or Last of us have better stories in my opinion)

Gameplay is uh ... mediocre. Well, I do not want to blame the developers but it is a very mediocre gameplay, like general action games 4 - 5 years ago. You do climbing, shooting, sneaking, and then repeat. This game doesn't even have an upgraded weapon system. No leveling yourself, No any rpg stuffs like Tomb Raiders or Last of us ( Last of us is also naughty dog owners, I don't understand why they degrade gameplay system). This game also should have allowed you to control your teammates like MassEffects since we have to fight in team many times.

I didn't play multiplayer so I have no opinion in that but I heard that it was good.

Music is OK, Voice acting is good. The ending and the epilogue are satisfying and well made. I spent 15 hrs finishing the game.

In sum, Uncharted 4 is good action game especially graphic but gameplay is too old school for 2016 game. I hope action games will get leveraged in gameplay soon. Need something new, That is all

But I like to remember the certainty of there being new, equally affecting experiences in the future. All our things used to not be there. Uncharted 2 was a very alluring prospect when it came to be. I trusted the praise of all the critics and fans. But it's not worth getting another console for one game. Not too long ago, I was at a friends house with a PS3. I searched through, and it was there(this is sounding like a 5th grade personal essay example. Difference is, I mean it). It felt surreal to have the opportunity to play it. Yet in a very real way I already experienced it. I held it in a high esteem for it's cinematic action that seemed to might even match that of the unparalleled Modern Warfare 2. I saw the E3 gameplay demos and read the reviews. I already had my opinion of Nathan Drake being a cocky protagonist that ignored the more recently realized moral aspects of killing. An EGM editor put it simply, that he is a mass murderer. But yeah, maybe saying "sweet" while grabbing an AK is just his easy-going self preservation. I managed to rush through a few chapters. I agree that it's 9 probably even 10 out of 10 material in 2009. Now it felt like a inoffensive run through of action and platforming mechanics and level design that Tomb Raider and others were happy to pick up. So when I recently bought a PS4, more in earnest of used games to play before the amazing looking upcoming exclusives, I wasn't really excited to play this game that was bundled in. Though right away, I was thankfully proven wrong. No, it didn't make any leap forwards in games like Spec Ops:The Lines crushing narrative or the incredible exploration of Skyrim. But the way Naughty Dog put it all together made it become a superior single player game. I still feel a little spoiled seeing the amazing graphics, which are combined with a more down to earth yet still stunning art style. The traversal mixed with open combat or fast initiative taking stealth felt like a new progression of 3rd Person action. Even from the announcement trailer with Nathan coming to in a dark and quiet setting, the game seemed to be more reserved than in the past. It gave the impression that this wasn't essential canon or had anything truly new. But especially towards the end, it makes up with huge explosive sequences that take on a higher level of power with modern graphics. The pg-13 Spielberg/Pirates of the Caribbean tone pervades throughout the game and is as important as the use of the gun play. This really is what makes it stand out among the ultra violent comparatively grim crowd. And that is a great strength. However there are times when the dialogue detracts from the mystery or grandeur. It hard to get invested in the scene when Nathan continually exclaims "Jesus!" or makes a dumb observation of Avery's work I had to mute the dialogue while repeating tough sections, which helped me get through. It's all over but I'm certain we'll all remember Nathan's adventures. Uncharted's light hearted tone really stands out to me when so much else that I love to play feels harsh when compared. Not too bad, maybe I'll try to have Nathans outlook on things. Expand

Story may not have any really surprising twists but I really enjoyed the way the story about the pirates who founded Libertaria unfolded, in my opinion it's probably the most compelling in the series. At it's core, gameplay is largely similar with refined tactics, it's still a fairly linear game but this time there are much bigger areas that you can explore, mostly for treasures and journal entries that expand the story, and in most cases this means you can also choose to get through entire sections undetected, or just go Rambo on everyone.

There aren't that many action set pieces this time, compared to Uncharted 2 for example, but some of them are just crazy and a chase scene in particular is just something that rivals the production values of any Hollywood movie you've seen, quite impressive.

I'm no big fan of competitive multiplayer in general, but I did enjoy the co-op survival mode. Overall, a great sequel with an ending that should keep every long time happy, and a superb action adventure game for those who didn't play the other games.

The story starts out in a fantastic manner and keeps going down that road of success. The first two thirds of the story are amazing and engaging. However, the third act overstays its welcome and drops the ball story-wise. It is evident that the third act was changed when the game got delayed. So many plot points are never explained (I will not spoil these points but the reasoning behind Sam's big reveal, Rafe's sudden motives, Nadine's moment, Sam's beef with Sully, etc. are never explained) So the story is the best in the series. However, it is overall an average story thanks to the third act. Also, the villains suck. Sorry to say but they do. They barely have any impact on the story and they are just boring, unmemorable, and silly compared to the villains of Uncharted 2 and 3. However, Nate, Sam, Sully, and Elena are all wonderful to see and interact with.

The Graphics are the best on the PS4. Easily. Beautiful to see and so colorful and full of life.

The gameplay is so refined to perfection. The grappling hook and sliding on slopes makes platforming a blast to preform. There are also more options on how to handle fights. Do you wanna be stealthy or guns blazing? Up to you. However, the vehicle sections....suck. The cars are clunky and have awkward controls.

There are much more things to cover, but just to be brief:
    Pros
    -Beautiful Graphics
    -Wonderful cast of heroes
    -So many options for combat
    -Platforming is varied and fun
-Perfect balance of platforming, puzzles, and gunplay.
    -Best multiplayer in the series

    Cons
    - The third act

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Uncharted 4: A thief's End is a beautiful game and it is a game that really lets the PS4 power shine. The title is a bit misleading though as I can assure you that they could be a squeal and DLC is already in the works, in other words, Nate dose not die at the end.

The graphics in some cut scenes are almost as good as real life, the graphics during gameplay are equally as amazing, not as good as cut scenes but differently have that next generation feel about them. The character models are impressive and the environments are rich with detail and lovely to look at.

The sound in the game is fine nothing really stands out and they is quite a lot of talking as the game is highly story driven. The sound effects are on point and everything sounds how you what expect them too.

The whole game is presented in a clean and stylish way and everything feels very well crafted and thought about.

After beating the game you are given extra content to just have fun with the game if you want to play in over again for example you can put slow mo on or render the world with rainbow colours. You can also unlock any weapon with unlimited ammo and change everyones voices to a high pitch setting. Putting all of these extra settings on make the game even more fun to play again and also make you as the player pretty unstoppable.

The reason why I have not given this game a prefect 10 is because this game is not prefect. It is differently a solid 9. But I think this game has problems that is holding it back from getting the 10 even though i did really really enjoy playing this game I did find a few problems.

Let me tell you about these problems. First off Nate, who you mainly play as seems to be very very weak. If he take 3 or 4 hits he is down. If a sniper gets a good hit on him He can get killed in one hit and some npc's are unfairly over powered. The few boss battles are annoying as Nate is so weak it makes it too easy for the bosses. In the final boss battle which is a sword fight it is almost impossible. I actually found that the controls were not even working correctly. In general I think if Nate was stronger it would improve the game a lot.

The next problem is that the game wants you too keep look at things, like letters, items stuff from the old games, I don't care! It become annoying after a while. They is a point in the game where you have to look and every item in a chest to make the game carry on why! not everyone cares about all this stuff.

The last problem is that game has a pattern that is on repeat though the whole game, the pattern is look around area climb up cliff or something like this jump and swing around then have a gun fight with a number of dumb somethings over powered npc's do a puzzle and then repeat. and this pattern gets a bit annoying. To be honest by the end this game sort of was annoying me, It is lovely and amazing to play and I loved the throw backs to a very special game made by this devs but they is just something a bit wrong and it is almost prefect.

Stating that the forthcoming game will be the last rendezvous with a popular, charismatic hero is a rare phenomenon. I congratulate Naughty Dog on their courage and in spite of myself keep my fingers crossed for them to stick to their decision. The farewell party they threw for Nate is simply spectacular. This is how I want to remember him, not as an old man who rubbed his joints with pain cream and then found a UFO. Uncharted 4 is a brilliant game and a breathtaking demonstration of what PS4 is capable of. [07/2016, p.56]
