The final game in Nathan Drake's saga is a super satisfying conclusion and is nearly perfect in almost every way. Fans of the series will be happy because this game tells a gratifying story with bombastic game-play and the cherry on top is the majestic soundtrack.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is a legendary game in my eyes. As a huge Uncharted fan this was the perfect conclusion to Nathan Drake's story. The visuals and environments are so beautiful i cant describe it unless you play the game. Visually and technically this may be the best game in those aspects. The story is really the main focus here and it really excels. The writing is top notch, the way characters interact feel genuine, and as you uncover the secrets of the lost pirate colony the game becomes more intriguing. The best part of it all is the characters, Nathan being dragged back into the life he tried to leave behind by his more cynical brother, Elena who is his wife now always keeping Nate in check and out of trouble and her struggles with what happens, and the best villain in the Uncharted series Rafe, who feels inferior and intimidated by Drake and becomes obsessed with beating him and Sully just being Sully. It all works perfectly and even though grand promises aren't fulfilled in the end it still makes you satisfied. The pacing starts slow to build the characters up and then as the game progresses it gets much faster and leads to a fantastic finale. Even though story is the main focus here game-play can not be forgotten. The shooting feels super satisfying and the shootouts are are big and grand and always changing. All the weapons feels diverse, the areas you fight in are generally big and allow you to get creative and give the player more freedom. Stealth is also a huge part of this game and it has a lot more depth than the previous Uncharted games. The freedom to play how you want encourages replay ability and it is a great thing to have for a game that is already a good length. The puzzles are back and take a lot more time and thought, and the action set pieces signature to Uncharted are back and great as always. The game never felt dull or boring till the end where you repeat things a little too much and some puzzles require to much crate pushing. Those are my only flaws with this game. The multiplayer is also a fun addition and is worth checking out and the survival game mode is probably my favorite on the PlayStation 4. Overall Uncharted 4 is one of my favorite games of all time and is definitely worth checking out. Expand

One of the best linear story-driven games ever made. Many locations good writing and amazing 20+h story which is sadly a rare sight in games nowdays. Maybe a bit too many box puzzles but overall really good. Multiplayer gives a bit of extra fun. I would give 10-.

The game sure does look pretty, but the actual game is a bit boring compared to the previous installments. Uncharted 4 gives Nathan some new abilities, like rock sliding, and throwing ropes around conveniently placed beams. These additions are a bit of a waste, since they don't play all that interesting, so it feels more like something new for newness sake.
Part 4 also has fewer interesting puzzles, and is more filled with climbing, which was always the least interesting part to me.
From the first game the Uncharted series has revolved around telling a story. A story consisting of fun banter between Nate and Sully, flirty talk between Nathan and Elena (or any other woman around), and the coolness of finding something new. Uncharted 4 is about guilt for douche-bag brother and marital problems. This is not something I find enjoyable, and I can't think of anyone who would think this is a good idea.
The big bad in each game has always been really evil bastards (warlords, generals, etc.). You know, really evil guys. In part 4 it's a guy who's a bit sad that the Drake brothers didn't want to join his team. So that part of the story was also a letdown.
The final letdown was the ending; as this is the final installment of the series I hoped for a really cool ending, but it was just meh.
The game is still well made, but compared to the previous ones I liked this one the least.

    3) very adventurous for the most part and the story was pretty good.....but that is pretty much all the good i have to say about this game. What i disliked about it was:
    1) repetitive climbing and looking for crates.
    2) most of the climbing and jumps don't seem ideal for Nathan to do, but he does them.
    3) Sam is useless as he will just stand around and wait for you to come up with a plan on how to get over a structure. In the beginning of the game Sam just stood by Victor's car and LITERALLY WATCHED me get shot at. I was like what are you doing man, help a brother out! Sam is kind of dumb when engaging combat as he will just run out while the enemy is still firing.
    4) NO SPRINT! There have been many times where i am like now would be a good time to sprint, but the designers decided to leave it out for some reason.
    5) Going stealth mode in this game is lame as there was no crouch, no silent pistol and no whistling. Eventually i just gave up on stealth mode and just started firing at everybody.
    4) the vehicle controls aren't that great.
    5) This game got very boring at times just because the amount of land I had to cover and also the amount of climbing.
    6) There is some bullet sponging

With the likes and dislikes combined I still liked this game, just not as much as other people.

Chapters 1-2 has already been worth the money for me as an experience and Chapter 3 brings you 15 years to the future and into a beautiful vast underwater water that got me bubbling with excitement. The feeling of epicness, disbelief and grand sense of adventure and character investment has gotten me real excited to be continuing this franchise and I’m glad they have already released another game after this. As always PS4 delivers and I’m sure this will go down as one of the greats/ must-plays once I am done!

Edit: Chapter 7 ( more than a several hours in)
Game does not seize to amaze. I need to put this out there because frankly non-gamers would not appreciate what i have to say and if my review gets one person to buy this game, i'll feel like i gave back to this game. First, I am not easily impressed and sometimes i forced myself to be optimistic in order to enjoy a game. Uncharted 4 makes me want to come back for more. It's split into nice, dense and thrilling chapters, each taking a very sharp but interesting turn in the plot which creates a very compelling story. The game play is mostly climbing objectively speaking but i am not tricking myself into saying that i was never bored once because the dynamics, the narrative that continues in the background and the gorgeous scenery makes the climbing feel epic and dangerous. Once you get through the jungle gym of a level, you'll feel a great sense of accomplishment. This was not the case in the order parts of the series. Also, the gun fights are much better. Covers are blown apart, AI are smarter, shooting feels better and overall it does not feel repetitive nor as if I was shooting against a target dummy. The way they integrate the same gameplay elements with part of the story which creates a much more intense experience is super impressive. Hey, i'm not the best at explaining, just know its good and i'm not overselling it, get the game yourself and find out. With the sales this game has, there is NO excuse to "safe this for later" or "be in the mood" for it because frankly, this takes what you love from the old series, takes it to another level and removes the junk. 10/10 0 I'm glad i have been able to experience this game and it has given me inspiration to try other top PS4 games that i put off.

U2 : classic multiplayer where every had the same weapon with the addition of Cod4 perks. Was fun and balanced
U3: Was a mix of the classic multiplayer with a basic loadout system. 3 weapons in total each with its pros and cons but they never overpowered each other. In addition there were powerups you could buy with score points u earn during each match. Fun but too much unbalaned in many aspects.
U4: Goes fully loadout system and ditches away the classic style completely. This makes a nice Cod balance. What's a Cod balance ? Huehue, it's your typical unbalaned mutliplayer were some guns outshine others. They also overblowed the power-ups with ridicilous things like bots that are just playing annoying and other BS I hate. Overall , mediocre multiplayer.

Survival Mode - in U3 , this mode was fun for casuals and those who wanted to kill time with friends.
I don't know how ND manage to screw this up but SM is even worse.
FPS is around 25-30 (regular multiplayer is 60, the f*ck?) and the enemy waves from level 6 are ridicilously hard to defeat.
You will face 90% armores soldiers with half of them carrying power-up weapons. Or worse 4 armored hunters. WTF ? I barely passred even one in normal difficulty.

Overall ? U4 was consumed by misfortone. So long Drake :(

Anywho ,let's review the story mode:
I played U2 and U3 and they all had crazy stories with fun characters to play with.
A lot of cinematic moments and "UH CRAP, don't fall".
U4 brings something new to the table. I.E. ,New concepts like realistic movement and a-lot of narrative.
The story goes somewhat good but always pushes aside the creativity of gameplay mechanics.
    - Nadine 1st and 2nd boss fight are just scripted cutscenes where ,of course, the male hero gets beat up with his brother.
    - The last boss fight with Rafe is just an annoying trial and error when trying to know which side he swings his damn sword with he's goofy animations.
    - And of course, just like Gears of War 4, lots of unnecessary "lift that block to get across" **** 'cause narrative is now more important.
    - The main attraction of the game is fighting enemies both guns blazing and stealthily. However, beware that the game is more enjoyable in normal mode and below. I played of hard and for the most part, I was behind cover
    - One annoying thing I've to mention is how all enemies react when getting shot. They always flip all over the place and wave around their bodies while getting back to cover after one bullet. It's okay if it was a sneaky and smart enemy type. But the thing is that EVERYONE-DOES-THIS. Even the heavy guys are waving they bodies when you take off their damn helmets, making them harder to kill while enemies swarm you from all sides. Where's the mind for the gameplay? Uh yea, forgotten! because now story is 1st priority over gameplay.. in a video game... great job Neil-Druckmann you amazed in TLOU but slowly become more obsessed with "diversity" and emotional narrative even when it comes to a game all about being an Indiana Jones wannabe.
    - But let's keep in balanced. The rope mechanic is by far, a welcomed feature that is actually used for fighting (well at least in normal mode).
    - Graphics amazing, yay...
    - Do I've anything more to say, nay!
The real meat of the game will be the multiplayer of course, since **** narrative priorities can't be transported over a fun online match.

Stating that the forthcoming game will be the last rendezvous with a popular, charismatic hero is a rare phenomenon. I congratulate Naughty Dog on their courage and in spite of myself keep my fingers crossed for them to stick to their decision. The farewell party they threw for Nate is simply spectacular. This is how I want to remember him, not as an old man who rubbed his joints with pain cream and then found a UFO. Uncharted 4 is a brilliant game and a breathtaking demonstration of what PS4 is capable of. [07/2016, p.56]
