Loved the first one and played for couple of years...but number 2 is sooooo much better in terms of variety, building character, world is so much more alive.
Great value for money and if u on the fence just buy and enjoy. Great game solo but even more fun with a squad. If the add on a survival mode this game will be epic!!!

To dicuss The Divsion 2, one has to understand looter-shooter as a genre. If you're looking for epic story like god of warFallout(before), you wont get it here. This genre is about the sense of progression gained by the constant stream of MEANINGFUL rewards. Think of this game as a TPS DiabloPath of Exile set in realisitic America, then you'll get the picture.

Division 2 is a very correct step towards the "game as service" model, and I think Ubisoft is really redeeming themselves by pushing out solid games like this and the constant maintenance of them.

Ubisoft... I had given up hope that someone could figure out the proper looter shooter formula. Others have come close but stumble on their own hubris. You seem to have taken your failures from division 1 and built an epic game. Not the game we deserve, but the game that we need. I want to thank you for the last 40 hours of my gaming life and the next thousand to come.

Okay over the top Intro over. Legit review time
This game is great out of the gate with many of the concerns that were brought to the table during the division one aptly fixed and mechanics properly molded. Enemies are much less spongy. Loot is more interesting. Content is plentiful and you can always loose yourself in side activities. Gun play is fantastic, every gun feels different and has it's own perks and drawbacks. The enemies are more intelligent and cohesive, they will push, flank, and try to force you from cover. Learning when to retreat and picking the right cover is imperative to success. For a tactical loot based shooter, these guys have nailed the concept. Which is great because with such a solid foundation they can start putting out content to improve the game and round it out. Some of the planned content like 3 new classes, 8 man raids, and the release of exotics there's plenty to look forward to. The best news is all that content is coming for free. It's not packaged in DLC or extras. You can gain access to it early if you'd like to pay for the year 1 pass but you will receive the content (aside from a new 8 mission story) for free. THANK YOU!! You don't have to segregate the community through paywalls, that's a much appreciated take on content delivery that has been very rare as of late. We the community are tired of not being able to play a game with our friends once a DLC launches because not everyone wants to buy the content you've released. I will likely be purchasing the content just because I am enjoying it so much but I love that my friends don't have to buy it to continue to play the full game with me.

Don't get me wrong there are some bugs and QOL problems that need addressing but those are easily overlooked when your game is as complete as this. They'll get em fixed and we will all go about our marry face shooting day.

The game is great and upcoming content will only make it better, it's gonna be a fun ride.

This game works. Yes there is the occasional bug, sound glitch and so on. But i judge this game on the overall experience and i have to say it is a work or art and dedication. They literally too what worked from D1 and added some into D2. Its not often you get a complete open service/ gaas game and you know UBI will support. Fantastic work!!! Can't wait to see where things go from here.

In my opinion one of the best third person shooters to date. I really liked the Division and Ubisoft has done a great job adding and making improvements to this game. The DC setting is done really well, gun play is smooth, and the control point battles are really fun. This game really shines in co-op.

To start off, anyone rating this game below a 5 either didn't do their research on the game or genre before buying it to see if this is a type of game they'd like (thats on them), or is being disingenuous. Most of the negative reviews read like they were expecting COD or they just didnt like the first Division (so why did you buy the 2nd?).

Most of the negative reviews read like they were expecting COD or they just didnt like the first Division (so why did you buy the 2nd?).

This game is easily an +85 in regards to games in general, especially with the string of recent releases the industry has be plagued with *cough* Anthem *cough*. In regards to other looter shooters this game is without a doubt top tier. It's up there with Diablo (post patch updates) and Borderlands 1 and 2.

The amount of content provided is astounding! If this game were a sandwich, it's a loaded footlong sub that you're saving the other half to for tomorrow's lunch. And it's quality meat too, not some processed ****

The level designs for the main missions are really special, especially how the museum levels really do have their own separate feel depending on the museum you're in. And the side missions feel like main missions! Who would of thought of making side missions on par with their main mission counter parts.... insane right?

The amount of content to be squeezed out of this is similar to Witcher 3, and that's absolutely refreshing to see.

This style of game isnt for most people as there is grinding involved to get the gear you want, it is a looter shooter after all. But, Massive has done an amazing job to make the grind feel fresh and rewarding. Also, i want to mention how challenging the AI is. This is like dark souls for looter shooters and there is no hand holding either which is refreshing.

TLDR; Damn good job, Massive. You all have outdone yourselves with this one!

If you like that type of gameplay, exemplified by the first one, you'll /love/ this game. It's a refined version of that, with a huge world (with surprising variation of environments) that rewards exploration with hidden collectibles, hidden quest lines, and piles of loot drops. The game is designed around the end game, which provides you a bunch of different ways to get gear, and just enough tinkering available to make trying to farm god rolls a little less frustrating. Enemy AI is a little hit or miss, but the upshot is that if you lose situational awareness or get too greedy, you will go down...fast.

In the end it comes down to if the gameplay loop of 'advance up on enemies, fight in a cover shooter arena of varying sizes, collect gear, repeat' engages you. If it does, this game does it well enough and the extra stuff they put in the game really pushes it over the top. If it doesn't, this game would be a waste of money for you.

Also, games still a little buggy, but in the old school sense of full releases having some bugs, not the 'AAA Early Access Not Finished' buggy that's become the norm in recent years.

The Graphics are good, not the best when it comes to hair clipping through objects. Dynamic weathers play a massive part, ive started the game twice once it was sunny, next in a fog and rain.

My one and only negative about the game is Microtransactions in the game, if you can get every item by grinding then great but if you have to pay for it, not such a big fan. Especially if you bought the base game and a year one pass, it gets expensive if you want additional items.

So far Division 2 is a more stable, flowing product than its predecessor. But then you add in a more streamlined experience in the stat building and skill system and you can easily adjust to a big game and its nuances in ways that the previous Division game simply failed at. But the game's biggest asset is one that the press has completely left untouched: endgame. There is a SIGNIFICANT endgame experience here that really opens up the game in a similar way Destiny 2's Dreaming City did for the Forsaken expansion. You have this base game that you play through to get adjusted to the game and its system and its story but it becomes something more shortly after finishing the core game. I think The Division overall has a very good thing going for it BUT I think the game is also very limited in its vision and direction. There are no vehicles to play with, there is no open world aspect (just shared world), and the crafting system isn't all that deep which makes it hard to create an "agent" that's truly unique. Sure, the skill system attempts to address that but it really doesn't do a great job at solving that desire that I'd wager most gamers have when playing these kinds of games. I wish there was a skill tree that people could go down that made them better at certain things and less better at others so that a more varied and situational experience would unfold. Expand

The bugs are enormous and plentiful in this rushed, corporate mess, making it unplayable at this point. My drone would disappear after deployment, my gun would not fire, and I got a constant "poor connection to server" message at the bottom of my screen. I ve played The Division 1 but never reached late game back then. Still the game impressions took me at surprise and so I wanted to be dedicated to Division 2 from Day 1 on. After a good 20-30 hours of gameplay I do not regret my decision. The game looks nice, playing on PS4 Pro I never had any crashes or slow downs after the early patches. Graphics have some pop-in issues that could be resolved but overall it looks decent. The cosmetics are awesome and seeing the loot develop my characters appearal is great!

The atmosphere is done right. It feels a bit like Walking Dead even, might be a strange comparison to some but it was the first thing that came to my mind. The city looks nice, there are lots of jobs to do and many settlements to develop. Loot is everywhere and the progress of loot is according to the players level, leaving not much to complain for. The sound is decent. Weapon sounds are gorgeous. I like the OST but it could be a bit more intense sometimes. It still suits the atmosphere very well.

I m around level 18. Perk and skill unlocks are well progressed. I was able to do every job, quest, bounty solo so far. Some assaults are hard and a bit grindy but it works out if you do it tactical. Some bugs have to be resolved around popping in enemies around the player. But I did not encounter many bugs at all so far. Ubisoft did a good job at early patching.

Coop with friends is done easy and works well. Fast travel and some quality-of-life implementations help to enjoy The Division 2 quite a lot. The game gets grindy at times but I guess thats what you buy with a loot shooter. Still hopping between the different mission types helps to soothen the problem and always brings cool new story locations up which are really fun and I have to give Ubisoft a thumbs up for those. The loading times are okay so far. I think they tried their best on the graphics. The PS4 pro sounds at least as it is at its peak trying to dish out the graphics.

For people who enjoy looting and a bit of grinding combined on a solid solo or coop shooter, they will not be disappointed with The Division 2 I think. For sceptics I would wait a bit for a drop of 20-30% in price. At least the 69.99 price tag on the PSN seems to much. 40-50 is deserving for this blockbuster shooter. Enjoy your time, agents!

What has to be -for me- done for a 10/10?:
    - Stop overpricing. 69.99 is already high, the gold and ultimate editions are ripoffs imho
    - Push the graphics a bit in terms of sharper textures
    - Reduce the loading times a tiny bit
    - Some minor AI glitches should be improved
    - I feel the story is nice but it fades away in between the grinding which is a bit sad
    - Some missions should be a bit rebalanced, e.g. Supply Drops, which are really hard for solos

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 has thrown its hat into the ring for being a possible 'Game of the Year' contender for 2019. The post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. is such an eerie site to see, and Agents can roam around solo or in groups to complete missions and earn better loot to upgrade their characters. With more content well on the way, the base game is still packed with heaps of stuff to do - and the huge variety in gear types and stat boosts, modifications, and skills means that 1000+ hours can easily be put into this title over the course of the year. The only bane to these sorts of titles is the 'always-online' internet connection that is required, which does remove some parts of the gaming population from being able to play it, unfortunately.
