Interesting story great with friends decent weapon customization almost no paywalls (except for dlc and ghost points for cosmetic stuff) but a bit lacking in replay ability after you’ve finished the story maybe not worth it at full price but if on sale its worth a try

The big variety of guns you can pick, the customisation of all guns and its accessories. The great thing I love far the most is how you unlock all those weapons, accessories and gears, of course by exploring the wonderful world of Bolivia which makes you use the open-world you have at your disposal. But with every wonder there is a danger, here you have to reach the boss of the well known Santa Blanca Cartel and capture or kill all his buchones.
Well not every game is perfect nor this is. The story...well we can say there is none, you just do some missions in order to reach the boss of the SB Cartel. There are few little things which are weird and maybe bad balanced, but it doesn't influence your gameplay. Maybe after some time it is a little bit boring due to repetitive actions, but you can experiment a bit, try approaching every base in a different way or tactic, and I highly recommend playing cooperative, you will enjoy it for sure.

All in all a great tactical shooter, the only bad thing that really affects the gameplay is the bad story, but I can't say I haven't enjoyed this game, because this is a wonderful game worth playing.

I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of coursed influenced by my personal opinions.

Really enjoyable game, I say this as a fan of the series since playing the first Ghost Recon on the Xbox 360.

I love how the weapons handle and that enemies are not bullet sponges, the open world is cool however I did find myself getting annoyed with the amount of "traveling to way point" moments.

That being said, this game is cert not for everyone. It's Ubisoft open world, which means lots of map icons, lots of repetitive objectives... We all know what Ubisoft open world is. However, something about this game being one of the few I can think of that has a drug cartel as the main enemy faction just keeps me coming back for more.

Any review that says the story is subpar is frankly kind of an idiot. The main bad guy is extremely compelling, the cutscenes that tell the story are all extremely artistic and well made, and the voice acting, while horrible in some parts, is really nailed by the main characters.

There are a lot of vehicles that you can drive and most of them handle nicely. The world in this game is beautiful and there a lot of intresting places and various locations. My complaints are: No various missions, the open world is way too big, the NPCs feel lifeless and the story is serviceable at best. If only they've focused on the story more instead of making such a huge map. Bugs are plaguing this game as well, most annoyingly you can easily get stuck between two rocks and then you can't get out, only if you fast travel.

Your teammates do nothing but stand there and look around. The enemy AI magically always knows where you are, can hear suppressed gunshots a mile away, call in reinforcements after you've completely cleared an area, and the list goes on. I've never played a game where you can escape from the enemies and hide for hours in real game time and they'll still be chilling outside waiting for you. Other games like GTA reduce the wanted level after hiding for a period of time. Even when I leave the area completely and wait in hiding this often doesn't work.
Why Wildlands is **** The moment an enemy detects you the whole base knows you're there without them having to call it in. Enemies can detect you through solid floors, walls, trees, etc. Once you're detected, limitless fleets pursue you, even after you've killed them all and left the area. After you've killed everyone, sometimes your wanted meter goes away and the map clears up (no more red, yellow, or suspicion), but reinforcements are called even though there's not alarm or troops left to call them bringing your wanted meter back.

Shoulder continuously switches to the left and right without permission and there's no setting like in Breakpoint that tells the game to automatically switch back (or to not to do this at all in the first place - which would've been much better, imo).

Dead center shots don't always land. Making shots much less accurate than other games I've played. Sometimes the guns don't reload when I press square. The controller is fine. No issues in other games. Enemies in general are bullet sponges. It doesn't matter if they have armor or not. I can mark all of the enemies in a base, but more will randomly appear as red/purple clouds from seemingly nowhere. I've seen their actual character model appear out of nowhere after ordering a Sync Shot with the drone.

There have been times when I'm in the middle of clearing a base and a random loading screen will prompt is send me off to a random Rally Point (never went online/offline - during solo play).

Some idiot came up with the idea to not include the ability to jump. This makes it even harder to get out of situations when the game glitches you in between objects (this game in general is very buggy to be so post-release).

Sometimes off-road vehicles will easily flip over from nothing and there is no way to recover them even though the trash mechanics is the cause in the first place (this is a feature in the GTA series even when the mechanics are much better than this game - in GTA 5; a 2013 game).

The airplane mechanics are the worst I've ever felt in a video game and the fact that a tiny pole can't destroy the entire aircraft doesn't help.

Somehow enemies very often will hear silenced shots through floors and walls, alerting everyone around.

Drone constantly gets stuck scanning and won't allow you to mark enemies.

Pressing square almost never works for reloading on the first attempt. This is also the first game where silencers don't seem to matter. They often don't hear me without one and often hear me with one.

Missile will randomly strike down your helicopter supply deliveries and there's little to nothing you can do about it (at a low altitude).

Enemies have the ability to run and jump through walls.

The game will fail my missions and make me completely restart (taking away my transport vehicle) while I'm tailing someone I can clearly see but they're "too far away." Even though they're right there in my line of sight.

Unidad patrols often interfere with santa blanca missions. Shouldn't they be patroling their own turf?

Fast-traveling during a mission can make you lose progress without any warning at all.

I can completely clear the map of enemies and no longer be pursued but fast-travel will still be locked because I'm "in a fight." With who? The air?

At times "order assault" does nothing. They just lean out of the vehicle and watch as we're being barraged by enemies gunfire.

Waves of endless enemies while searching for your 1,000 collectibles. Going up stairs that are inside a house, then outside, and the last row you realize it's the wrong house. Many times I'm out searching for guns. I don't have any quests active/ All of a sudden the game says the suspect got away, or died. My search for guns is over because this stupid pile of trash spawns me back to a base. Some quests auto start if you get too near their location.

I've had quests glitch out several time and have to start them all over again. I can't believe this game has an average score of 7/10. I get UBISOFT games only after they are super cheap. Put nearly 100 hours into the game. Certainly has aspects not everyone will enjoy but can't beat the game play loop of planing out a mission and executing perfectly. patients is required and it most certainly will go at some point point.

    - copy and paste missions and objectives
    - dumb ai
    - wonky driving

Like most of the Ubisoft games. It was no good when it launched. But with updates it got better. Main game is repetitive. Ghost War PVP mode came months later after launch. I like this game's PvP. it is fun and tactical. Not much players left but i am still playing PvP and enjoying most of it. It is surely better than Breakpoint's PvP mode.

A Massive Open World Game and also very Big Game, Gameplay is very good but most of the Missions are repeated, We feel like playing the same mission several times. We can play as a team of Four, Our Bot teammates can do well they'll follow our instructions and it can make the Task bit easy. The Build up they give the Villan is very big but at the end he'll be killed very simply.

Multiplayer has always been god awful since they kept vote kick in. And unfortunately the control scheme is clunky and not fun.

Fortunately Ghost Recon: Wildlands just about scratches that itch. You’re accompanied by 3 AI players and a drone, the latter being able to set up shots for the former to take for you. You can order your crew to a location, and call them back again. You can ask them to hold position. And then you can order them to “Fire”, which is a slightly confusing option, because if you’ve cleared a building, but you’re not sure you have... your crew will simply run off somewhere to look for trouble.

There are a lot of similarities to the later Far Cry games (from the same publisher) here, but then some differences that throw you off. Most disconcertingly, the order/weapon wheel and throw grenade buttons are swapped around. And there’s no auto-drive feature... yet for some reason you can still climb into the passenger seats of any vehicle... and wait like a lemon, wondering why your crew aren’t joining you.

The single-player campaign is just about sufficient. You get radio chatter filing you in on the story, but it’s all so bland, it doesn’t matter. What matters is... go to an enemy area on the map, and tackle it in the most stealthy way you can possibly manage. Get skill points, upgrade your abilities, rinse and repeat. Come to think of it... the previous Ghost Recon games as far back as I can remember didn’t really have the most amazing stories either, and didn’t suffer for it.

A lot of people have complained that it’s boring, but even in single player, I’ve found masses of “emergent gameplay”... which, in my opinion, is the best kind of gameplay.

And the multiplayer is just the same thing, but with your buddies. I imagine. Sadly, being a rather old autistic man, I know precisely one other person on the planet with the same taste in video games and availability to play them... and he prefers to play Far Cry 5 with me.

The gun selection was good, and it was fun switching between. But there was way too many collectibles! Way too many! Cut down the collectibles in games, or end all collectibles.
Or, with having it co-op, at least allow collectibles collected by a friend count for everyone.
Other than that, this was a great co-op game!
Way better than a game like Fay Cry 5 that advertises as full co-op experience, and then doesn't even give credit to the co-op partner for completing the missions, forcing you to do it twice.

So for an $8 game, Ghost Recon is surprisingly good. The stealth mechanic is fun and the expansive open world setting gives you flexibility unseen in most other first person shooters. The gunplay is decent (not just relative to other FPS, but taking into account RPGs with gunplay mechanics as well) and the plot is okay as well. Character design, in my opinion, is good and as you might expect, there is zero character development. But the voice acting (and to an extent, the dialogue) is cringe-worthy and that can oftentimes break any immersion you have in the experience. There was a time when I had crashed my vehicle and the voice-actor muttered (yes, muttered) "f***ing hell". It's not what he said but rather the way he said it. Normally in games where you get cheesy dialogue, you can kind of laugh it off with your friends. Well, not in this game. The manner in which he semi-gently uttered those words just sent a cold chill down my spine. It was horrendous. And this was not a standalone event. Many of the interactions between my avatar and the NPCs cringed the hell out of me and the majority of them weren't even due to the dialogue. If only the voice actors had delivered their lines in a manner which make sense, the issue would already be half resolved. I think an analogy I would use is: the characters are saying lines you would expect to hear in a warzone but they were saying it in a public library. I have no intention of stereotyping military personnel but if you play the game, you would get what I mean. And the reason I've focused so much on the voice acting is because other aspects of this game is fine. It's not spectacular but neither is it garbage. And this pretty much sums up my experience of the game. There was never any real moments of ups and downs and this makes the game feel ordinary. I didn't feel like I had wasted my time but i never really felt like I was excited either. So my recommendation is simple: if you see it floating around for $8 or less, snap it up. It'll be a good time-filler. But at its asking price, no. Expand

Noticed that if i am not detected, I can kill enemies with just 1 bullet and for some reason, when my cover is blown, enemies are suddenly harder to kill even after repeated shots to the body. head shots are always 1-shot kill which is nice. i just assumed that this game encourages you to always play on stealth mode.

i just assumed that this game encourages you to always play on stealth mode. Careful planning of infiltration / extraction / intel gathering is the priority.

one complaint that I have is that when the missions fails, the re-spawn location is damn far from the objective and all the enemies came back to life... it totally requires you to start all over again..

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Where do I even begin with this game. This game was absolutely terrible. You start off creating your character while getting background information on “El Sueno” and Bowman’s friend. You then are thrown into a world with three other AI which couldn’t hit a side of a barn if it hit them in the face. The game is absolutely huge. And that’s really all it has going for it. After that first bit of information you find yourself running around killing people, getting information, and then either killing the boss or capturing him. Once you explore a little bit you will have no problem realizing that though the map is big it is also barren. It is also worth noting that my PS4 kept freezing up in some areas. Overall I have to rate this game a 3. It was obvious that the developers were rushed into producing a half baked game.

Story-1/10 (The only resemblance of a story are the side missions which are also either absolutely excessive or just half baked.)

Graphics-6/10 (While playing on a PS4 I notices slow downs, crashes, and even textures not loading.)

Dont know if anybody else has this issue but if an enemy is behind cover and i can see their head, i cant shoot them? Sorry what!? Yep. An enemy behind a small wall or a window cannot be shot, for me. Comes up with a red X and shoots at the wall. When i try to look round a wall and shoot an enemy, i end up dying because the wall get locked onto automatically, i even tried FP to see if that was the issue but still, the walls on this game take all my bullets. 3. The enemies dont give a **** about their lives. Cool i get it, theirs 10 of them 2 of us, they will rush. But they run in all guns blazing, covers compromised, flanked left and right. Cars pulling up behind me. I get it, 4 of you work together. But people are stupid. They dont want to work as a team. They would rather sabotage your **** 4. Leaving a minute to be revived is cool and **** but sometimes no one is near me and i have to lay 15km away from someone for a whole minute. Which is alot longer when your counting btw. Add a button for instant death or something. Also, i died 7km away from my fellow teammates. I was doing a mission myself as they were ****ing about. I dont mind dying but making me spawn on a teammate is ****ing ridiculous. I have to spawn 7km away from my objective? Why? Ever heard of ‘restart from checkpoint’?

    5. Automatic changing of shoulder view. OMG this is the one that pisses me off the most. Walking through a building, about to walk through a door and shoot an enemy, as i press the shoot button (not making any contact with R1) it switches shoulder, i miss half a clip trying to spray this ****er, tells me to fall back, i kill the **** then i die because of low health and a cheeky bastard pops out. Nice. I get that it’s supposed to be a challenging game. I like that its not easy. Makes me play stealthy, you aint winning a gun fight. I just think that theres difficulty and then theres bull****. I like the game, would have given it a 10/10. The aspect of the game is great, storyline is a bit **** but hey ho, i really do love and enjoy playing it, occasionally. I made an account just to write a review for Wildlands; I think it's a fantastic and original game that was unfairly lambasted in the games media and I want to write what I think is a fair and honest review.

As a long-time fan of the Ghost Recon series - and Tom Clancy games in general - I would have been perfectly happy with a traditional Ghost Recon game, but what we got instead was a Ghost Recon game that took a few bold steps in a new direction. It would be a bit simplistic to call this game GTA Ghost Recon, but that's essentially what it is: a vast open-world to explore and take part in.

The game features a pretty massive open-world in which you undertake various story missions, side quests, and optional objectives to try and damage a fictional (but pretty realistic) drug cartel. One of the reasons I think this game was unfairly judged by the games press is because of its politically incorrect nature; the game takes place in a real country, in a region that is and has been plagued by drugs and drug-related violence. The portrayal of this in game terms is pretty realistic, as you'll hear locals and radio station hosts talking about the cartel, various pro-cartel propaganda pieces, etc. I think the game does a good job of showing just how much control these cartels exercise over local populations and officials, even businesses (several missions involve the links between the cartel and businesses).

I also think the game was judged harshly because military-themed games like this are not contemporarily popular, at least among game journalists. But Ghost Recon games have never been about mindless corridor-shooting, and neither is WIldlands...which brings me to my next point: the gun-play and the game systems. As with most Tom Clancy games, the guns function and sound realistically. There's also a wide variety of firearms and types, from submachine guns and assault rifles to sniper rifles and shotguns; the game gives you access to myriad types of hardware so you can tackle objectives in whatever way you see fit.

Having the freedom to attack an outpost or base head-on, guns blazing, or stealthily taking out scouts and guards, carefully scanning the area with drones and marking enemies, is extremely fun. There are a few missions that will force you to remain undetected, but by and large, you can tackle missions, side missions, supply raids, etc. in the way you want to, and I really enjoy that about the game.

So far, we've sunk about 60 or so hours into the game over a few weeks, and we've had an absolute blast. It's extremely fun to sneak into a base, disable a generator and release prisoners, then get spotted trying to sneak back out and trying to blast your way through the front gate. There are so many adrenaline-filled situations you'll find yourself in, whether providing suppressing fire from a helicopter or vehicle, to trying to escape an underground facility, that it's hard to understand some of the flak this game has received. While the AI certainly won't win any awards, it's hardly the worst AI I've seen in a game; enemies behave and react in a fairly realistic and consistent manner.

Considering the staggering amount of content (from PvP to co-op and Ghost Mode and beyond) it's easy to suggest this game for anyone, veterans or new players to Ghost Recon alike, that's looking for a fun and engaging co-op shooter that never feels dull. This game is awesome and I had held off on getting it for so long because of the mediocre reviews, but I'm glad i decided to try it out for myself, because this has become one of my favorite games of this generation. I'm eagerly looking forward to the follow-up coming out later this year.

'Grand Theft Auto 5' and 'Metal Gear Solid 5' had a baby, and it is beautiful.

This is a pretty mediocre game and an extremely bad Ghost Recon game. If you want a stealth game go but one of the older Ghost Recon or Splinter Cell games and if you want an open world shooter go but Far Cry 5. It's is a very disappointing, boring, repetitive game with an uninteresting story, characters and copy and past world.

Deeply flawed, but in parts fun third person shooter.

+ some very good third person gameplay
+ shooting mechanics are fun and satisfying
    + great graphics

    - your actions and play-style have no consequence whatsoever
    - your party in single player can shoot through walls
    - enemies spawn randomly
    - every mission is virtually the same
    - driving and flying mechanics suck

**This review is rated SOLELY for GHOST WAR PVP mode **

Singleplayer is just fine, I did complete 1 area but it is not for me. On the other hand, Ghost war PVP 4v4 is what draws me into this game. I fell in love with this mode. Singleplayer is just fine, I did complete 1 area but it is not for me. On the other hand, Ghost war PVP 4v4 is what draws me into this game. I fell in love with this mode. I have been playing this mode for a very long time, well maybe sometimes I switched myself to play new other games, but when I didn't have any games to play, Ghost war never failed me. It is fun, refreshing every time, every match. Now I think I owe this game a favor so I have to write a review here.

Ghost war is BADASS, period. I have never been so addicted to play any TPS PVP games, only this game can keep me. Ghost war is very strategical, very teamplay. There are many classes with unique abilities. Intel of enemy location never been so important like this before. The guys who came up with this modeare genius. I want people to play more of Ghost Recon. They also keep updating the game, add new maps, classes, and stuffs. Sadly, this mode was overshadowed by fair score from Singleplayer. Graphic is beautiful. Character customization is top notch.

In sum, I would say Ghost Recon is worth the price alone for Ghost war PVP mode. For game mechanic itself I would give it a 10/10, but I deduct 1 point because of the server nowadays that takes long time to find a match, like 3-5 mins. I hope Ubisoft do something to get more new blood into the game. Ghost war is the best TPS PVP I have ever experienced.

Despite having a ton of bugs even after nearly 2 years, this is the shooter I've been looking for.

Ubisoft are often criticised for sticking to the same formula with their open world titles and playing Wildlands you can see why. The game features a huge open world, and you can’t really pick any faults with the mechanics, but there isn’t an ounce of imagination or originality to be found here. Virtually mission involves picking a location from the icons dotted around the map, travelling there and then killing all the bad guys. The missions that do actually do soemthing different are even worse and usually involve picking up and/ or following and NPC around until they trigger the next goal.

With a squad of friends you could perhaps get some enjoyment from Wildlands, and it’s a better game than The Division with its tedious bullet sponge enemies, but this is a completely wasted opportunity.

I like the same and the action. I do agree that the Predator mission is stupid. I kept skipping it. Other than that it was a decent shooting game.

    Overall experience is good
Enjoyable co-op experience/ solo play is good, considering stealth op is my favourite
Difficulty is just nice for fair to good player
Enemy is not just bullet sponge, stealth kill with one bullet, alert enemy required more effort in killing
    Connectivity to server is good
Mission objectives can be cleared in may ways

Virtual Bolivia is sometimes stunning and I often found myself staring at the beautiful views it offers for long periods of time. This is why I think it's a shame that it's filled with dullest imaginable open world experience with its chores like missions and simplistic A.I. However, they have made a good job with character and weapon customisation which is deep and well build. All that is combined with an entirely blank story that could not keep me interested even for the briefest moment. Playing with friends improves the experience but overall these things don't make a good or even a mediocre game. Expand

Ghost Recon: Wildlands excels in the sheer size of it and has a ton of content which offers you and your friends endless possibilities and lots of fun. The gameplay, on the other hand, is often repetitive, which causes the game to be just a little less than fantastic.
