Titan Souls is a game with a very simple premise, one shot to kill, one shot to be killed. And while the variety of monsters are quite nice, the problem is with its difficulty curve, there is none, one boss you might find very difficult, the next could be quite easy.
Graphics are meh, not much of a story, so basically you have a three hours max game to enjoy killing random monsters.

With its unpopulated landscapes and large foes to defeat Titan Souls is effectively Shadow of The Colossus in 2d.

In all honesty there is a little too much time spent wandering around the environments between battles but the fights against the Titans, which are effectively the entirety of the gameplay, are fortunately entertaining. Titans can be killed by just one arrow in the right spot but just one hit from them will also result in your death, this makes for some intense battles as you search for an opening whilst trying to avoid the attacks coming your way. Some may find this challenge oversteps the mark into frustration at times but for the most part it just about stayed the right side of the line for me personally.

It’s not a classic but Titan Souls will provide a good 3-4 hours of entertainment for those looking for a good challenge.

Game is really hard, but if you play it enough it will not be much of a challenge. The game is not really anything you should pick up at full price unless you really enjoy games for their difficulty.

An exceedingly challenging, tight adventure game that mixes together the wonder and withdrawn storytelling of Shadow of the Colossus with the demanding, trial and error gameplay of Dark Souls.

Pros: - Incredibly rewarding battles. I got to my feet and pounded my chest when I beat the Truth. - Tight, responsive controls - Beautiful pixel art style - Runs perfectly, never had a slow
An exceedingly challenging, tight adventure game that mixes together the wonder and withdrawn storytelling of Shadow of the Colossus with the demanding, trial and error gameplay of Dark Souls.

    Pros:
    - Incredibly rewarding battles. I got to my feet and pounded my chest when I beat the Truth.
    - Tight, responsive controls
    - Beautiful pixel art style
    - Runs perfectly, never had a slow down or crash
    - Each of the 19 titans feel unique; each a new puzzle to solve

    Cons:
    - About a 3 hour run time, with the developers expecting that you'll want to play through again to pad length
    - A handful of the Titans feel too simple, making beating them not overly enjoyable

    Mixed:
    - A handful of the tracks in the game are memorable (mainly the haunting theme of The Elder, the chugging tracks of the burning mountain, and those accompanying the final three titans), but the rest fall flat, feeling generic and unimpressive.

For most, this will be over in a sitting or two, but for those really looking for their money's worth, a handful of new game modes unlocked on completion will provide an even deeper challenge and plenty more hours of gameplay. Overall, a compact but competent adventure that draws on two excellent games for inspiration, and manages to carve out a unique spot of its own.

While very hard at some points, Titan Souls succeeds to bring the enjoyment of passing through a level after dying 50 times to another scale being very satisfying at most of it's boss fights. Yet it fails at giving exciting rewards and dense and complex boss fight, turning into a very simple boss rush at a lot of it's boss battles.

It's also a meaningful exploration of the frustration and release of boss battling. [June 2015, p.86]

It's problems lie in design, though - the largely empty world seems almost superfluous and you'll come away from each encounter triumphant, but lacking any sort of reward. [Issue#257, p.70]

Titan Souls earns its rightful place as one of the toughest games of all-time and while some will immediately fall for the elegant yet simple design and alluring fantasy world, others may be turned off by its unrelenting difficulty.
