Overall I enjoyed Swords of Ditto it is a charming game with a really cool art style like the art style of Adventure time. The game itself unlike most other rouge likes that have played the gameplay never really gets repetitive and does a good job of making the dungeons feel fresh each time that I do them. The combat in this game is good too it is fresh and controls really well. If were thinking about getting this a think you should it is a really fun game. Expand

The game is cute, but surprisingly difficult! If you're on the fence, I highly recommend it. The game controls very well and the "toys" you unlock are super fun to use. Perfect! Swords of Ditto is kinda hard in the beginning, but it gets easier and easier with time. The game wants you to learn as you play. Just like our lives, Ditto is beautiful, frustrating, captivating and wonderful. Highly recommended.

The Swords of Ditto is a very beautiful game with a simple but interesting story that fit perfectly well in the context of the gameplay. The soundtrack is very beautiful and friendly, plus the aesthetic Zelda + Adventure Time which is hilarious!

First, the good stuff. The game is charming in it's presentation in terms of writing style, graphics and art design, music and sound. Controls are great, tight and responsive very simple to understand.

Now, the bad stuff. It's a chore to play and the charm quickly wears thin when you're on your third attempt to just get past the FIRST dungeon. The procedurally generated dungeons seem to have their own rules and you'll quickly die if you aren't careful. Or are unlucky like me and get trapped in a room with no way out with an enemy you cannot kill that summons endless enemy reinforcements. The game forces you to level grind before you can even attempt the dungeon again after you die, but it's pointless since the game scales the world to your level, just adding busy work and wasting the EXTREMELY limited time you have before you fight "the final boss" as it were.

This is a great RPG the swords of ditto has similar gameplay to some zleda games which is a good thing like cutting though grass with your sword collecting coins and other items can be so additive lol

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a Zelda clone. Visually perfect in cell shaded style. The world isn't that big, so they make a rule that when you die you have to restart from the start, with a character of your choosing (you find more in the game) and you keep your level. The rule become really annoying after the third time you die. Eventually you can buy an extra life. This mechanic isn't really that fun. I put the game to easy to finish it, but the real ending demands that you kill the bad guy 5 times without dying. The game doesn't cost that much. You will get a good 5-6 hours at easy. I give it a 68%. Did impress me at first, then not so much. Expand

An entertaining game with a familiar pace. A Zelda clone that isn't bad with a beautiful art style and a similar 'end of the world' countdown Majora's Mask had attained. The game can be a little bit repetitive and doesn't really attain anything new or something that will make it stand out. A unique twist in the game, a nice story and a world of beautiful art styles that can make anyone go 'awwww'.

This game isn't for everyone, and the mixed score should say that much. But it is a charming, delightful Legend of Zelda-esque roguelite that offers dozens of hours of play. It has its issues - a bit buggy here and there, the world generation isn't quite as varied as you would like, but it's overall extremely high quality for an indie game. It's genuinely wondrous to explore, and by the time you're on your second or third run, you'll be deeply invested in the world of Swords of Ditto. I bought this game on sale for 7.50 a few days ago, and I haven't put it down since - and it's been a LONG time since an indie game has been able to say that of me. I highly recommend it to anybody looking for a charming, nostalgic roguelite, especially if it's on sale.

The Swords of Ditto is a charming rogue-lite with a robust challenge. Fans of top-down action-adventure games won’t be disappointed.

Despite a repetitive level-design and an obvious lack of a proper scenario, The Sword of Ditto is both lovely to watch and to listen to. Nicely paced and crafted, it’s even better when played in coop.

Cute rogue-like RPG which introduces interesting ideas, but ultimately turns out to be a dreary grind festival.
