    The Last Tinker: City of Colors is a fun and insignificant way to spend seven to 10 hours with your PS4. The game will remain most memorable for me because of the way it never could decide who it was meant for—Kids? Adults? Teens? Super-coordinated babies?—rather than for graphical or gameplay reasons.

    A heart of gold surrounded by endless color makes it all easier to swallow, but you're left wondering what could have been had The Last Tinker's gameplay come on as strong as its presentation.

    The Last Tinker: City of Colors is like the nicest kid in school. He’s not the best athlete or student; he’s just nice and because of that, you want to like him. To some extent, you do. But he still isn’t picked first in gym and he doesn’t ace all his tests.

    It’s not amazing, but it’s definitely not awful. While it functions well enough as a platformer, performance issues keep it from being a stand out in the genre.

    An incredibly erratic framerate, little replay value, and the lack of any real challenge throw a few wrenches in the gears, but overall, it's not a particularly bad game, even if you'll never look back once the adventure is over.

    Despite its artistic aptitude, The Last Tinker lacks identity. The combat is remedial, the platforming is robotic, and the puzzles are little more than frustrating roadblocks that fail to mystify.

    Very charming and colourful game. Great for kids (apart from the fact that the "for kids" setting has some irritating difficulty spikes - IVery charming and colourful game.     We still had really great time playing the game, though. Given its price (a lot of professional reviews do not seem to take into account this little gem only costs about 10 Euros with PS Plus), it is an absolute must-buy for people looking for a fun platformer to play with their kids. If they added some more game play depth, non-linear story/quest elements and spoken/synchronized dialogue for the sequel, it could absolutely turn into a great full-price platformer for younger audiences. In its current form, "Tinker" already is an absolutely outstanding budget-price-platformer.    … Full Review »

The Last Tinker absolutely oozesThis game made me feel like an 8 year old playing Spyro on the PS1 for the first time, all over again. The Last Tinker absolutely oozes classic Sony platformer charm in a way that I haven't seen for a long time. Yes, the game is easy and the puzzles are simple but that's not a bad thing, it makes it a relaxing and purely enjoyable game to play through. The low difficulty level also means it's accessible to kids which is great because this is exactly the type of game I would want my kids to be playing. The only reason I haven't given this game a 10/10 is because the current version suffers from framerate drops (slowdown) - If you aren't the type to notice that kind of thing then you'll be fine. Remember that this game is a debut title from a small developer which makes this all the more exciting and absolutely worthy of supporting.… Full Review »
