    Very slow and boring, I've bought it based on one site's suggestion for a good platform game (I've asked for something similar to Ratchet and Clank), turned out a very bad advice.

    The concept, graphics and art style are OK, but levels design and game mechanics is very under-developed, come on, what platform-er that you can't jump-around freely.     Finally!!! A good colorful game. So sick of all these gritty games. Glad to see some personality and such a pretty game. Also great playthrough. Feels right at home on PS4. GO INDIES!!!

    Very charming and colourful game. Great for kids (apart from the fact that the "for kids" setting has some irritating difficulty spikes - I had to help my daughter a few times later in the game).

    We still had really great time playing the game, though. If they added some more game play depth, non-linear story/quest elements and spoken/synchronized dialogue for the sequel, it could absolutely turn into a great full-price platformer for younger audiences. In its current form, "Tinker" already is an absolutely outstanding budget-price-platformer.    … Expand

    Love this game. Characters are so cute and the game looks really beautiful. I'm amazed at how much is in this game and how great the colors look and so smooth. Played earlier with my kid and he loved it too. It had a real Jak and Daxter feel to it. So glad I didn't miss it. Also this game is a lot longer and has way more gameplay in it than i thought I would see. So good. : )

    This game made me feel like an 8 year old playing Spyro on the PS1 for the first time, all over again. The Last Tinker absolutely oozes classic Sony platformer charm in a way that I haven't seen for a long time. Yes, the game is easy and the puzzles are simple but that's not a bad thing, it makes it a relaxing and purely enjoyable game to play through. The low difficulty level also meansThis game made me feel like an 8 year old playing Spyro on the PS1 for the first time, all over again. The Last Tinker absolutely oozes classic Sony platformer charm in a way that I haven't seen for a long time. Yes, the game is easy and the puzzles are simple but that's not a bad thing, it makes it a relaxing and purely enjoyable game to play through. The low difficulty level also means it's accessible to kids which is great because this is exactly the type of game I would want my kids to be playing. The only reason I haven't given this game a 10/10 is because the current version suffers from framerate drops (slowdown) - If you aren't the type to notice that kind of thing then you'll be fine. Remember that this game is a debut title from a small developer which makes this all the more exciting and absolutely worthy of supporting.… Expand

    Don't buy the Last Tinkerer: The City of Colors. I haven't played a platformer this boring since the De Blob. No framerate junkie but this hard to look at. Boring task after boring task. Combat is just press square. Not really a platformer since it "auto jumps".

    The rest of the game isn't quite as appealing, unfortunately. Oddly enough the one thing that perhaps bothered me most were the subtitles.     Oddly enough the one thing that perhaps bothered me most were the subtitles. Rather than appearing at the bottom of the screen, they pop out of characters heads, meaning that you have to stand still to read them, which really impedes progress through busy areas.

    The controls are where most people will struggle. There is no jump button, and I can only presume this was to avoid messy platforming since many of the auto-jumps would require very precise timing and accuracy to achieve manually. Still, this does hinder the game when you find yourself getting stuck trying to climb a ledge that is only ankle-high.

    The story is fairly simple and nothing new, however the level and enemy design quickly becomes very formulaic, with little elements added incrementally but can quickly become tiresome.

    The game seems to be oriented towards younger audiences, but some of the puzzles can be tricky and the normally charming colours can actually make it more difficult to see where you are going and what you are meant to be doing, which brings me to my final gripe; the guide character. You press a button and you follow the trail he leaves to your destination, however this trail not only disappears quickly, but also can meander massively, leading you to think you need to climb upwards when really the guide has just soared upwards and then downwards.

    Overall, a decent and charming game, but the graphics and mechanics actually belong to the PS2 area and not PS4. The game is fairly cheap these days so if you're looking for something colourful then this is a good option. Otherwise, there are so many better games out there.    … Expand
