    Pay no attention to idiots review bombing this game. None of them have played it. Their opinion is from YouTube videos that also know next to nothing about this game. The story is as good as the original game and if you liked that then you'll like this one. Only a single plot point from the leaks was accurate everything else is false

    I pre-ordered the **** game 2 times... Two **** times! Oh **** man, this game is a **** garbage, yeah, it has good graphics,but the plot, the history is so bad that i whant to stop playing the game in the first 3 hours of gameplay, it's so sad man, **** (sorry for my bad english)

    The game doesn't deserve a 0, although I understand the effort to bomb this score. It also doesn't deserve reporters brushing off the bombing as disgruntled MRAs either, this game insulted the fanbase and they want their displeasure to be known. To me, I give it a 2 because of everything it undid for LoA1's phenomenal ending. Joel's mastery of survival is reduced to novice mistakes for plot contrivance. There's plot holes galore. Yes, their art team beautifully realizes a post-apocalyptic vision for America as we'd expect from Naughty Dog. I'd say the namely minimalist soundtrack mostly gets the job down, although it isn't quite as memorable as LoA1.

    In the end, it's ridiculous because they say that if you dislike this game, you must be an evil bigot! But no, Naughty Dog, you don't just get to say that as a shield to all criticism and shame on you for insulting our intelligence. No, gaming journalism, your protected games are not above criticism, especially the sequel to a beloved story.    … Expand

I don't care about the sexuality of the characters or the gender but use your agenda and your propaganda to destroy a good story is extreme and completely stupid... how about the cure and the infected? They somehow forgot about that part of the story. More than 10 hours of cutscenes and just 15 of real gameplay, next time make a movie or a serie instead.     They bait and switched in one of the trailers making you believe with Joel being replaced by another character.
    And don't even get me started on the nonsensical murder of Joel, which clearly comes from a delusional developer that hated the character so bad to the point of self inserting himself in the game just to spit on Joel's dead body. Yes, I'm talking about Neil Druckmann.
    Abby is an unlikable character in which I'm forced to play during a big part of the game. It was so tedious, boring and uninspiring.

    And what about Ellie, all that thirst for revenge just disappears at the end when she decided to spare Abby, even if it costed her some of her friends and two of her fingers. Absolutely ridiculous.

    There's so much political correctness and a clear agenda of his creator trying to pander to minorities and liberals.


    Also, there's no multiplayer either. What were they thinking

    All these years for nothing, what an total disappointment. Such and unforgettable experience. I'm never supporting Naughty Dog or anything made by this hack of a developer ever again.

    Brilliantly crafted game in all regards from story, animation, gameplay, lighting, sound. This is an amazing send off from Naughty dog to end the ps4 consoles life. thank you to all the devs who pored they're life into this. its an amazing accomplishment. and thank you for sharing it with the world. this is one of the best games I have ever had the privilege to play.

    I have not finished it yet but I am not really enjoying the story anymore as it is simply too far away from my personal reality which means: I simply can't relate and don't even want to. Providing a basis for a very questionable woke ideology seems more important than good story-telling. So: Was it really necessary? Holy **** . Thank you Naughtydog for this piece of garbage.

    From a technical standpoint, this game is great with a revamped gameplay from the original and great visuals, but the story is just underwhelming. The narrative is the driving force for the gameplay and I honestly was not feeling the story. Like I could see what they were going for but the execution fell completely flat.     The game is really beautiful and the story doesn’t follow the cliche that we used to see in many games and gameplay is perfect. The dialog and voice is super crazy. I really enjoyed the game.

    Very important note: Dont see the users reviews because most of them havent even played the game, They are just relying on the stupid leaks.

For those who don't know, there has been a ton of controversy for TLOU2 having things like LGBTQ acceptance (which is a big no-no I guess?) and having realistic proportions for their characters (usually these people like immersion, but I guess not now that immersion means their fantasy girl is more athletic than their fat ass).     Incredible visuals and music can't make up for a complete lack of skill in writing. The story is unbelievable, full of plot holes, often depraved in failed attempts at adding shock factor and spits on the legacy of the original. A painful game to experience.

    It is further insult to injury that Naughty Dog used false advertising to sell the game to fans of the first.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. wonderful gameplay seriously is really beautiful and the soundtrack too but imagine being in a post-pandemic world and your priority is that the world knows that you are "like this", we all expected Joel to die and possibly Ellie too but not in such a stupid way as they have done it, in just 4 years enormous progress has been shown when in the first one barely saw any salvageable things from the modern world totally meaningless.     Part 1 was a masterpiece, yet this one was able to easily surpass it, If you loved the first one, and you love Naughty does games, you'll have to play it, this was a great experience, I'm already playing it for the second time. Don't let the negative scores scare you away, these are mostly users who didn't play the game and embraced the hate.

    The User Reviews contained people who ACTUALLY PLAYED THE FIRST GAME. It is filled with people who loved (or still loves) the dynamics and relationships between Joel and Ellie, and those who felt something when they realized that a game's story, can touch people's hearts.

    TLOU2 butchered everything that TLOU has done for us. No gameplay changes, the game world is empty (although very beautiful, kudos to the designers), enemy AI is probably the dumbest you've ever seen, all in all, the game looks very dated.

    Combine all of that with the fact that the story is a nonexistent mess about murder and violence, and at the end of the game, the developers took a step further and tell you 'no no no, revenge is bad, you cannot kill.'

    Now, look at that 85-90-95-100 score from the Critic Reviews. Where the **** does it come from? How the **** are they even grading this game? Do they actually finish the game? This is overhyping up something for the sake of nothing but money.

    This type of corporate stupidity has to be stopped. If I'm able to refund my purchase, I would do so gladly.

    Worst $60 I ever spend.

They make a poor revision of the original story that made the franchise successful, trying to generate sympathy for their political "causes" by creating a hate story, with script holes just to justify a bad plot.… Expand

    Excellent graphics, music and voice-acting. Unfortunately the story, characater development en the ending were all a huge disappointment. They made characters unlikable in ways that made the story feel worse.

    Again: excellent graphics, music and va, but I would not recommend anyone to buy this as the overall game was a very big downgrade from TLOU1

This game is one of those games that not everyone will like and that's due to people having their opinions and that's great! A lot of people started to lose faith in this game due to the leaks coming out and as someone who saw those spoilers and was upset I can say that I didn't hate this game. The first game was about love and I love the story between Joel and Ellie. But this game is about hate and talks about the cycle of violence and revenge. I think people are at war with this The Last of Us Part 2 not because the addition of LGBTQ+ characters (even though some people are butt hurt about it), but because it's not a game that we see often. Naughty Dog knew that this game was not going to be received well by some people and made it anyway. I genuinely enjoyed this game and the story, even though people think it's garbage. Even with the leaks out I didn't let myself be swayed and stayed hyped and it turned out to be a great game. The downfall to this game and the reason I gave it an 8 out of 10? Abby. Not what she does or her reasoning but that we had to play as her. I'm not mad that they made us play as Joel's killer I only found it less enjoyable to play as a character that we barely knew for half the game. Her parts of the game were pretty bland and I found myself going on to only see Ellie again. They tried to show the story from the "villains" perspective and in all honesty it was just plain boring. It was cool to see someone's life besides Ellie and Joel but playing as her for half the game? A major part of the experience went out the window when I played as her. The story arc with Lev is about the only engaging experience when we play as Abby and even then I just wanted to see Ellie again. Making us play as Abby for her flashbacks with her dad was nice and they pulled it all together in the end with Ellie having those same PTSD like flashbacks with running down the stairs to get to Joel. The ending also wasn't bad at all, ending by an open window gave me vibes of the first game and showing the guitar leaning against the window to rot is a visual to show Ellie is leaving behind everything she knows and is continuing her story. She won't forget but she leaves the thought of revenge behind and goes on to hopefully live and find purpose. Will she see Tommy again? Will she make up with Dina and see Potato (JJ). The game gave an interesting view on dealing with death and PTSD while having some bad ass infected as an added challenge. I think there is room for a Part 3 and I would definitely play it as long as we get to stay with Ellie (Maybe because I love her more than I should but who can blame me?) .     This story is just terrible, what can I say. It's almost worse than the leaks. Honestly the gameplay is also not as good as everyone says. I would rather play Fortnite and that's a true insult.

    You know how they say someone with the personality of a 3 but the looks of a 10 is still a 3? I feel like that's a pretty good analogy for this game. It looks amazing, but the story is awful. It just goes to show you can't add gay characters to a game and then just deflect all the criticism you get as "anti-sjw."

I loved the first game, it was a beautifully crafted masterpiece that excelled on some levels with its storytelling and its ability to make you love the characters, despite their obvious faults. I want to say though from the off that I think Neil Druckmann is a good writer - he wrote the first one after all - and I don't mind the idea of being inclusive. Ellie being gay was never a problem with me and anybody else who played it. What I do have a problem with however is when its forced and unbelievable.

    The Last of Us 2 picks up after the first game, and it's clear it's a nmore somber tone. A heavy burden hangs over Joel's head, and a heavy doubt over Ellie's. Both are slight tarnished by the first game, but despite this they make a life living in the community of Jacksonville.

    Its feels great to see these two on screen again after 7 years, and I wont pretend I didn't know Joel's fate before stepping into this but man, his last scene's just feel disrespectful for the character and the fan base. Joel needed retribution no doubt, but it plays very out of character compared to how sharp he was in the first game. He walks into a trap that TLOU 1's Joel would have been very suspicious of, and it just feels like Neil wrote this in to progress the larger story of revenge at the price of believability.

    I wont go into Abby as she is a deeply dull character with almost no charisma or redeeming factors, but the annoying thing is the game to me didn't 'sell' the reason she killed Joel like she did to me. Her story is sad in a paint by numbers kind of way, but it didn't justify the brutality of his murder.

    Anyway I'm rambling - I think a 6 is fair based on the effort obviously put into this game. Its just a shame the story went 'The Walking Dead' route rather than focusing on humans versus the infected, and Ellie and Joel versus the tension created from the first.    … Expand

    Naughty Dog has proven new industry standard tech in the game engine department with TLOU2. The smallest features go a long way in making this game feel like a full package. Pushing the current gen to it's limits with a sense understanding why they pushed the ps4 so far.

    I give this game a 9 because 30fps is hard to make TLOU2 a 10/10. Shooting games require high framerates for a sense of control when aiming. But thanks to aim assist it helps for the most part. And item's feel useless for the majority of the game. The story is gripping, the environment is beautiful but you don't feel that your exploration is paid off for. But maybe this is Naughty Dog's way of telling the story of the environment around you.

    Reviews will be bad from other user's. I understand why. Loss is hard and life is not always pretty and you may live a life of hardship during your full ride on this planet but it's up to you to break the cycle.     It has great graphics, but story and gameplay is from 2006. The first game was way much better, I mean a lot better.

Out of all the things they could have screwed up it had to be the one most important aspect of the game. A total disaster and a total disappointment for the more hardcore fans of the franchise.

    Utterly unfulfilling experience. I didn't laugh once. Whenever someone dies you just shrug and sink further into hopelessness. A completely nihilistic journey with nothing gained in the end. What a waste of an artistic project, I feel bad for the people stuck working on this project.

The gameplay makes very little in an effort to feel like an improvement from TLOU1. This game will ruin the story for you. If you like TLOU1, do yourself a favor and forget this ever existed.

    This game is truly one of the biggest letdowns of the generation. The developers show a clear (almost sadistic) level of contempt for the established fan base of this game. Characters are assassinated, politics are pushed, and in the end the game feels like a hollow facsimile of its former self. This game is getting review bombed and it **** deserves it.

While there were a few genuinely good moments, majority of game filled up with plot holes. It just took elements of what worked for the first game without understanding what made them compelling.
