    I'm a huge fan of TLOU. It's a true masterpiece in story telling for a video game, the brutality, the world and most importantly the characters who we loved so much we were willing to look past the game's rough gameplay.

    Unfortunately, in an effort to subvert expectations, it appears that Neil Druckman has completely ignored his own established world. The Last of Us 2 is a bloated mess of a game that tries so hard to force progressive identity politics down our throats through the facade of a weak revenge plot all while consistently diverting from the plot to go on what seems like a 10 hour side quest.

    It's gameplay hasn't evolved much in the past 10 years, it's characters are unlikable and make horrible decisions, you're force to play as the antagonist in order to bring empathy when in reality it just makes you hate the character even more and it all accumulates in an ending that doesn't fit with the themes the game tries to hard to enforce.

    The first game had the ability to balance light and dark, however the sequel feels like a nightmare in the worst way, while it's an undeniably beautiful game, spending 25 hours to feel this miserable just isn't worth it.    … Expand

    I wonder how many of the people who reviewed this game a few hours after it came out had actually played the game. I have played the game for several hours and I am enjoying the game play, even though it did start a little slow, the story is fine and the graphics are great.

    I don`t think fans can ever forgive Neil Druckmann for that (spoiler). But i would like to try...This game is awesome BTW: graphics, game-play, sound, etc. But some moments in the story are so bad for the mental health of the fans of the first game so they gonna hate it and user score is gonna be so low. Its not fair, but that`s life...

    The story beats in this game is full of contradictory decisions, lack of heart, and plot holes which just doesn't make sense. A game likes this, for me, is not warranted for a sequel. The first game was sooo beautifully well written and ended on a satisfying note between the two main characters. Much like Resident Evil 2 did to 1 in that respect. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here and Naughty Dog divided their fan base instead of honoring them and new fans alike with their ridiculous decision making. The gameplay itself: gorgeous environments, character models detail even better than the first, and the combat has improved quite a bit. However it does make up for the problematic plot were forced to play. Sorry but this game is worth more of a rental or getting it when it's on a 50% sale pricetag. Such a shame. 5 out of 10.… Expand

    Disappointed to say the least. The graphics and gameplay mechanics are beautiful, but are sadly overlooked because of the nonsensical storyline. As far as I'm concerned, this game is non-canon. Sad.

    I do not understand how can a studio ruin such a beloved set of characters. I won't go into details regarding the story due to spoilers but... wow.

    Also, the gameplay is the same as the first game without adding to it. So when I consider the value of the game I focus a lot on the story and that, I really hated.

    Good graphics though... for whatever that's worth.

    The game have a funny gameplay, the graphics are good and the soundtrack its weet.
    But the Story its so bad...i mean, they don respect the characters we knew in 2013, the entire game "story" was for nothing, the game have...scenes...well, really horribles and stranges... i recommend to play it, but dont deserves 10/10 really disappointing :/

    I’ve been playing games for over 30 years, and this is quite literally one of the highest quality experiences I’ve ever had with the medium. Every bit as well crafted as it’s predecessor if not more so. I love that the narative pushes so many boundaries. And I’m glad to see that development wasn’t swayed by the oppressive ideologies that seem to be implicit in these user reviews.

    The game takes the story that TLOU worked well to make and just **** on it, it lies to the fans about Joel, It lies about Ellie being the only playable character, makes you play as Abby but doesn't give you any excuse to like her, just inserts her in as Joel's killer, no of the other characters give you any reason to like them. Ellie completely changes from what she was in TLOU, some of her decisions don't even make any sense when compared to who she was in TLOU even if she's "grown up| and speaking of Grown up, there's almost ten to none character development, whatever character development there was, must have been hidden under its just terrible story. The ending is even more ass then the story itself. Its a story about revenge.

    The gameplay; its nothing, it does little to improve upon the first game's gameplay and just seems like the most basics of a combat system, its nothing special but is functional and decent enough where you can at least kill enemies without any issue; too bad that game constantly tries to shame you for doing the most basic of actions that almost all games share; Killing enemies in order to progress and survive. It does so without impunity and generally just makes it unfun. The upgrade system isn't anything either, again, its just one of the most basic things implemented in that is just functional and decent enough that you can use it without issue, only real flavor to it is watching the gun/weapons be taken apart a little but even that is shallow compared to even some older games with a more advanced upgrade system that runs on less powerful consoles and systems. The stealth is pretty bare-bones as well and runs just like your traditional "hey there's stealth in this game too, so yeah" type of games, sure, I'll admit, the dogs do provide uniqueness to it with being able to sniff you out and lead their owners too you needing you to make a quick decision on killing the dog and their owner too, but again, that's rather bare-bones since that's a situation that pops up in games with any resemblance of a stealth system and still occurs in games with even arguably better stealth systems, hell, even in MGS and Splinter Cell you still run into those scenarios with the enemies just simply following their basic patrol routes. Speaking of enemies; the AI has improved, kind of, from previously TLOU, but is still rather stupid. The human enemies in my honest opinion are just zombies with guns capable of sounding human and thats it.

    ND has falsely advertised this game. They took what the first game created and burnt it, stabbed it, stomped it and beat it into the dirt then tried to stick it back up. Just because your first game does well, doesn't always mean you need to create a sequel, especially if you're going to trash it like what happened here. Also, who the **** makes a self-insert of themselves for a game they're making, puts it in, spits on one of the main characters they killed and then proceeded to **** irrelevant character we just put in that everyone hated within just two hours of the game?    … Expand

Although the game did feature Joel’s death in the most dishonorable way possible, it fueled the rest of the game for greatness (if that makes sense). What I mean is: Joel’s death was a tragic event in the story, but it didn’t ruin the whole game. It was delivered amazingly and really had a lot of suspense leading up to it. Now the gameplay/graphic design was outstanding, there weren’t a lot of frame-drops, and the combat was energizing and exciting. Whether you were fighting someone with a bow, a sledgehammer, or even an attack dog, the game delivered gracefully. I do understand the idea of the game being pandered to an “SJW,” kind of audience, but it wasn’t really forced into my face like a lot of other reviewers. In the end I’ve really enjoyed this game, and would play it again in a heartbeat. 100 (btw I’m not some bigwig who got the game early, I got it the same time it came out.)… Expand

    I mean I’m pretty liberal, and the story in this game is just pure trash. Everything is just so bleak, with no influential moments like the first game to keep you engaged. The gameplay is the same with some added improvements and the graphics are nice, but that’s not enough to help the game as a whole.

We were given a generic revenge story with major plot holes, non relatable and bad written characters, Nd a horrible narrative in the grand scheme of the game. The game brings far left political narrative that don't belong in the entertainment industry, but somehow it did. This not only made the game toxic but also ruined the overall experience. The combat was dull and so easy that it didn't bring any fun or memorable action sequences that I would of loved to seen. Their difficult setting is among the best I seen but AI still tend to be easy at its max difficulty. Overall the game ruins everything that was amazing of the first game and creates a horrible, boring, and non creative experience. I would not be surprised if people stray away from naughty dog like I am.… Expand

    I don't know why naughty dog did this but they completely ruined the game. I can understand and also agree with the support they want to give to the LGBT community but they ruined the story while doing this and that's unacceptable. If you're expecting a masterpiece narrative such as the first game you probably gona be very disappointed. This game doesn't deserve a better score, that's for sure.

Графика в игре довольно обычная для уровня пс4 (немного мыла, немного зернистости), порадовали некоторые анимации и конечно же отражения в зеркалах. Геймплей по большей части довольной унылый, бесконечные закрытые двери, скучный стелс с зомби, но при этом неплохие перестрелки, очень понравились следы от пуль на врагах, физика крови и отстреливание конечностей, к тому же враги общаются друг с другом как настоящие люди. Сюжет мне не понравился вообще, сама завязка мотивирует найти обидчиков и отомстить за Джоэла, но просто так слить персонажа... как мне показалось в этой игре в принципе с этим какая-то проблема, персонажи просто умирают как мухи. Последняя часть игры доказала что до этого была не такая уж и душниловка, главная героиня просто сходит с ума и постоянно ловит флэшбеки,которые заставляют её то избивать кого-то до смерти, то просто отпускать (при чём одного и того же человека). Разработчики пытались выставить антагониста в хорошем свете (жидкая мораль), но для меня Эбби как была сумасшедшей, так и осталась. Так же очень не нравится то что в игре вообще нет никаких выборов, игра полностью линейна и мне кажется такого в 2020 быть не должно, да и в целом этой "инновационности" не чувствуется, игра на уровне может 2015 года, что по графике что по геймплею. А второе для меня всегда стоит всегда на первом месте, потому что именно геймплей дарит те ощущения которые хочется получить от игры, а насладится сюжетом можно и вовсе не играя. Я думал что СЖВшность игры будет для меня проблемой, а оказалось что это самое безобидное что было в этой игре. Моя оценка 4/10 за хорошие перестрелки с людьми, которые можно пройти без стелса и конечно же за отражения.… Expand

    Please don't believe the people in the comments who are acting like lesbians in video games are the worst thing ever. I love the stories, the characters, the way they are portrayed, everything. If you loved the first game, then this is the sequel for you. It builds off the existing themes and does an excellent job of adding new ones. Support this game, it's so good

    The gameplay hasnt really evolved from the old game, and the heavy focus on human enemies robs it of the interesting setup that the old game have.

    The graphics look great.

    Just by all of this i would give the game a 4 or 5, but given the drama on ND both in terms of workplace and the obvious dumb ideologies the CEO/Vice President has, and how they have permeated into the game, plus the clear bias that Sony has against other games on what they are not allowed to do while ND is allowed to do way more than that, i will give it a 2.

    Is clear this will be the last ND game i will be buying, and if sony keeps screwing up, even maybe the last console i buy from them    … Expand

Este juego cuyo principal atractivo era la historia pues fallo estrepitosamente es ese pobre apartado narrativo, no voy a entrar en detalles pero como dirigieron la historia y desarrollaron los acontecimientos son un desastre, ni que decir del insulso desenlace seguido de un lamentable final.
    El guion está pobremente escrito y el mensaje final de que "La venganza nunca acarrea nada bueno" es algo cliché que no fue llevado de una forma inteligente,, ya que al final todo lo que hicimos cae en saco roto, toda la sangre que vertimos, horas de persecución y enfrentamientos para nada. Si te consideras un fanático de la saga mi recomendación es que te hagas de la idea que esta paupérrima secuela jamas existió, te ahorras el triste disgusto y el precio que el juego tenga en tu país.    … Expand

The game is very linear and against exploration. The tone of the game is ruthlessly dark, with no comic relief. And let's not forget about the little issue with the story. If you liked the two main protagonists from the first game entry, don't expect anything to come of them. At all. Also, the sex scene really should haven't been made. It was pandering and it did nothing to progress what little progress there was in the game.… Expand

    They Put Politics in the game and very strong opinions as well, this does not usually work out for games. However the reason why my review is so low is based on how pointless and bland the story is. One last thing I can point out is if the user reviews are this bad but the Critic reviews are almost perfect means that they are fixing reviews.

Por exemplo o que aconteceu com o Joel, tudo bem colocarem isso na historia, mas a forma que foi dirigida para os acontecimentos, uma situação muito forçada e improvável. Outra questão é ficar forçando viés ideológico politico.

    The writing is without a doubt the worst part of it, the pacing is all over the place and the new characters are introduced in a forced manner (let alone, the conversations/interactions seem just as forced).
    To be honest, I kind of foresaw Joel's death. But killing him right off the bat within the first few hours into the game, just lets me as a fan down. A character's death is something that needs to be used properly, however using the main character for just shock value and giving a simple target (Abby), is not enough. (The overall negative experience is once more reinforced, since you play as said target for a good portion of the game). Of course, the ending doesn't even give the much anticipated catharsis. It makes me all the more angry seeing others who were even more hyped than me seeing this disappointing tragedy unfold itself. I seriously pity everyone who put so much effort into this game, into this franchise. The graphics and sound design are absolutely phenomenal. But a bad writer can ruin everything.
    I was seriously let down by this game and I'll try to refund it

The story can barely progress itself and what were once fluid multifaceted characters are now cheesy 2d machines. I have never before been unable to complete a game, but now is one of those times. I made maybe 5 hours into this game before I decided I needed to take a long break from it indefinitely. One of the major issues I had with this game was the gratuitous sex scenes throughout, and what felt like Naughty Dog putting diversity into a game for sales. This game feels genuinely exploitative towards the LGBT community because it uses multiple LGBT characters as sales points and fan service. If they were to introduce an LGBT character who mas more than a flat character who's entire personality was not based on their sexuality/gender that would be great. I think diversity in games is something that needs to happen, but in this game the characters that are meant to be inclusive are more representative of a cardboard cutout than an actual inclusive character. I would highly dissuade anyone from buying this game if they were a fan of the original last of us. The plot will wear you down and feel nothing like the original game.     In the end, you are being served a great looking bittersweet dessert but you never get a chance to taste it, they let you look at it very close and then take it away. Then you are politely walked outside of the restaurant

    To sum it up I can say this game is an example where terrible story overshadows all other aspects. If you are looking for a game that has next-gen graphics, amazing audio and just want to enjoy very well done survivalaction gameplay, you should play this game for sure. If you are a fan of the first part and it's characters I would suggest you to stay away, as no matter how fluidly the game plays and no matter how graphics are amazing, you will just get frustrated and depressed by the story, and the enjoyment of the gameplay would be gone.    … Expand

    Amazing experience through and through. Ignore the review bombs. I'm not going to go into too much detail but I was spoiled on reddit and still thoroughly enjoyed tlou2 on a technical and an emotional level. This is one of the if not the greatest game I have ever played.

    What was the message? What was the point? There is no feeling or emotion evoked by this game that even approximates what it was like to play the first one.
