I don't understand any of the hate that this game has received, it doesn't deserve it. I accept that some of the story events may have left people feeling empty but this in no way makes it a bad game. The gameplay is great and the horror elements ramp up substantially on this game compared to the first. All great elements. Loved it 10/10 Expand

    Graphics and jogability are ok.

The story is very bad, and the writing is very poor. Ellie and Tonny are not consistent, The game makes you play with the "villain" trying to make you like her... for, it didnt worked. I didnt care for her or for the other characters in her story.. they are all boring as hell, add nothing to almost nothing to the storey and takes a whole 12 hours to pass by... There is a "boss" fight when you are controlling the "Villain" and you must win Ellie... that was the dumbest thing I've ever saw in a game. After this fight, Ellie loose and the game should come to an end, but it didnt. It makes very little sense, but Ellie goes after the "villain" again and the ending is VERY disapponting.

I don’t understand the negative reviews, and if anything it’s an indictment on today’s society. There are some people who haven’t even played the game and/or who are basing their decision on what happens in the game early on. It’s such a shame that these people cannot go through the process of the game to form their own judgment. It also goes to show these people don’t have a level of maturity required to play these games and/or have had much life experience. The pros: The story is phenomenal and a worthy experience. This is a game that will make you experience emotions and connections that you wouldn’t have experienced via a film or other game. These are real life emotions that will leave you unsettled at times and wanting to take a break. I had to stop the game on numerous times to take a break from the intensity. The gameplay is absolutely fantastic, it’s an improvement on the first game and so fluid. I never had any issues during the game. If anything, playing this game and having to go back to other games has marred those games. Nothing will be as good as this to date. In terms of the sound, please, please, play this game through headphones. It’s an absolute must! You will hear a living environment that is true to the settings. It’s amazing, and adds another dimension to the game. Cons There aren’t any.... people are the issue here. The poor reviews aren’t a true reflection of this game. If you’re on the fence about buying this, please keep an open mind, and go through the experience yourself, I promise you it will be worth it! This is, in my eyes, The game of the generation! And a fabulous send off for the PS4. I will recall this game as many recalled the last of us years later and remember it for what was, an amazing, breathtaking experience. Naughty Dog... you are amazing and thank you so much for this producing game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Unfortunately, TLOU2 is a flawed game, with some questionable decisions in story telling, pacing and direction. However, it is worth playing, and from a pure technical and gameplay perspective, quite stunning.

I'll start first on the technical side of things, which is where this game truly shines. In this respect, TLOU2 is a masterpiece. Graphically, the game is gorgeous, one of the best looking PS4 games to date, and certainly a stunning way to cap of the PS4's end of life. The environments are richly detailed, from Jackson's winter snow covered climate, Seattle's rain soaked depressing atmosphere and Santa Barbara's hot, dry heat. The PS4 Pro was able to render them all with great clarity and stunning lighting at 1440p. As a PC gamer predominantly, the 30fps was annoying, as was the controller, however, I think these annoyances can be overlooked - although I would love the series to come to PC one day.

While it suffered in some areas from drops under 30fps (mostly interactive water environs), for the most part it was completely playable. The Temporal Anti-Aliasing, nice film grain, filmic colour grading and beautiful lighting (using pre-baked and indirect lighting effects), especially the global illumination lighting effects, simulating colour bleeding from light on different materials (which was impressively implemented) brought the game and the richly cluttered and living environments to life. The environments ranged from quite large open areas like the large Seattle map, to more guided closed areas in the later game. I don't think an open world design would have been of benefit for this title, and was best served with map design seen in game.

The story however is quite clearly an area which has received some very critical reception, and rightly so. While I didn't hate the story, in fact I enjoyed some parts of it, I didn't like it either. It is for the most part a story of revenge, and very little else, there is nothing original here. There are moments of redemption and clarity of thought for the characters, but in the end, it was an eye for an eye revenge adventure plot that did not succeed, leaving the player empty, angry and wondering what was it all for. Maybe that was the point of the story? If so, it's not appreciated. The game is undeniably bleak and hard to enjoy in many parts, which is a shame, given that TLOU1 was such a fantastic game with a brilliant story. Forcing the player to play from the viewpoint of the "antagonist" for essentially the entire last half of the game was clearly an attempt to try and show to the player how perceptions and points of view are never truly what they seem, nor a persons intentions - for Abby it was about justice, for Ellie it was about vengeance.

There were some really great parts to the story, the best being the flashbacks to Joel and Ellie's moments in the past, both good and bad and their journey from close bond, shattered relationship and eventual renewal - although this never came to pass given the story events. These good moments were few and far between though. When we get to know Abby, she is not quite the evil murderer that she is initially portrayed to be, and much like Ellie, a product of her surroundings and history, that fact is established at the start. This does not absolve her of her actions though - Abby's justice was directed solely at Joel, while Ellie's revenge was directed at everything to do with the WLF, purely by association with Abby. In the end, Ellie evolved into a worse person than Abby, destroying her character. Abby's initial introduction into the game with her hate filled and violent introduction as she beats Joel to death for the murder of her father did not lend her to being an easy character to either play as or to empathize with. There is much more to say, but not really enough space. To sum it up, the story is flawed, imperfect and hard to digest, but ultimately, still worth experiencing.

The gameplay is much like any other Naughty Dog title with survival elements, scrounging for supplies etc. It's fun, and a refinement on previous titles. While it's nothing groundbreaking, it does the job well. However, some elements like restrictions on ammunition amount make little sense. As a PC gamer, the camera felt overly claustrophobic, which is something that console titles have always had an issue with. But apart from small issues like those, it was still fun from a gameplay perspective.

Over all, I'd rate TLOU2 a 5 out of 10. This game is by no means perfect like most of the mainstream gaming media portray. It's most glaring issues are those involving story and the essential destruction (deconstruction?) of those characters we came to love in the original game. That is not easily overlooked. However from a clear technical point of view, the game is stunning, richly rendered and always looks beautiful. EDIT: Changed from 7 to 5, in light of actions by Sony and ND and their doubling down on stupid.

This is a spoiler free review for The Last of Us Part II

The Last of Us Part II takes place a few years after the first part, with a focus on the now young adult Ellie.

I played the game through twice (Survivor / Survivor +) and I can say by far that the gameplay is definitely one of the best third-person action games of our generation. The encounters with the opponents are very realistic and dynamic. There are almost endless ways to take out opponents in the style of Metal Gear Solid or as a John Wick. However, some options in the first run are limited for me, because of the difficulty I have chosen, there are few resources to be found. That is why it scores for me that Naughty Dog attaches great importance to difficulty settings. You can do certain aspects in the game, e.g. Adjust resources so that they are easier to find.
Of course, players who are very good at using a controller are particularly rewarded here, and those who are only used to playing with a mouse and keyboard can sometimes have difficulties. For me, this does not change that the gameplay raises the bar for future console games enormously.

From a graphic point of view, everything is perfect at first glance. It is one of the most beautiful games alongside Red Dead Redemption 2. Above all, the performance of the voice actors combined with the incredibly good animation in the area of motion capture is very well staged.
Rarely is music and sound built into a game as well as in The Last of Us. Never before in a game have I relied on the sound to survive. The death noises from the opponents also sound very brutal and sometimes a bit too exaggerated.
The only disadvantage is that with a basic Playstation the console sounds like an airplane. It is also a bitter aftertaste because the game is currently only playable at a maximum of 30 fps.

Before I get to the most polarized point, namely story, I would like to say something first.
We are currently living in a time when many worldwide, have problems, including Corona virus and in some countries such as USA or Hong Kong there are also massive protests. Therefore, we should be careful what we do in the real world and above all what we say to the digital world. There is already too much negativity in life and you don't necessarily have to take someone's joy away from something just because you don't enjoy it yourself. Let us instead rejoice for this person, because this person would like to wish you this joy yourself. Constructive criticism is always welcome, but insulting someone for no reason goes too far.

I can only say one thing about the story: This story will not make you happy.
However, this is not a negative criticism of the game. Those who like to play games to relax or enjoy a happy and entertaining story could have a very hard time at The Last of Us. With a risky narrative perspective, Naughty Dog dares to give players a new way to experience a game like no other studio has tried, at least as extreme as in The Last of Us. That's why the player is put to the test here by asking himself the question "Is that enough now?" or "Do I want more?" It is also an obstacle for the player to be able to read between the lines and not only to understand why the character did it, but to understand the entire journey of the characters. Anyone who lacks empathy and emotion you will definitely not be able to enjoy history as another player.
It is also important to get involved in the story impartially and above all without a spoiler. The plot may seem simple at first glance, but the story offers so much more. Secondary characters have their meaning and indirect influences on the main characters. Dialogues sound authentic and are brilliantly staged, as you know from previous games of Naughty Dog. There are so many symbols and parallels in this world and history that you don't immediately recognize, but the more you play you appreciate the work of the creators when you realize what they mean.

The Last of Us Part II is not a game for everyone, but it is important to recognize that this game is important and will be for games to come. However, if you deny this, you are satisfied that games like Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty are used out annually and do not bring about great innovation (and I also like both games). For my part, I love it when game developers risk something and stay true to themselves because there would not be games like Death Stranding or the latest God of War. One has to accept that The Last of Us tells us a story that is firstly innovative on this medium and secondly seen by the creators as being worthy of the predecessor.
It is not just a game, but an experience, so I clearly recommend to play game and absolutely recommend to buy it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Late to the party guys, but I am proud we got a game like TLoU2, even if its for me not the masterpiece it could have been. Part 1 was nearly perfect.

    Story

The story had really really well made parts in it but all in all it wasnt really sth. new, even tho that dont have to be the case always to be good. But the most frustrating was that it was too predictable and I just dont get why we had to reroll it again after the fight with abby against Ellie. The third time was one to much and at the end Ellie couldnt do it either (to much plot armor).

Besides that the cutscenes were so good, easily the best you could have imagine but I wanted more depth in the story to the apocalyptic world and not on the revenge part.

    Graphics

Brutally good (just look at the god damn fingers while Ellie playing gitarre, stunning). Even on my Slim it looks fantastic. The worldbuilding, cutscenes, the transmission from gameplay to video sequences are perfect. I would have love more different assets and not only parts of seattle, that for I like the epiloque, cause it gives you more imagination of the apocalyptic world, they could have went for.

Also why cant I disable this weird filter effect??

    Gameplay

Here ist the problem for me in this game. Part 1 hadnt had the best Gameplay but with the compelling story it was okay. 7 years later I dont see much innovation and new mechanics. The weapons of Ellie feels boring and most of the sections are spoilering theirself by the way the section is builded.

The AI of the companions is again stupid, but better as part 1. The Enemy AI is well made and way better (flanking a lot and trying to really kill you), in the epiloque it falls a little bit off by just sending you hordes of enemies in the way.

With the part of Abby the combat becomes way more impactful and you really going to like playing it more action oriented. Also the "zombie" parts are very well down and kind of creepy.

    Summary

All in all a very good game, which cant live up to his hype in my opinion. With 25 hours its defenitly worth playing but it couldnt reach Part 1.

I still can't believe that creators of the game legend, one of the most dramatic, beautiful and touching plots in the industry that made us wait for 7 years for the continuation of this masterpiece, the very same people just... KILLED IT. And did it in such a stupid and primitive way. It seems to me they forgot WHAT made TLOU legendary back then- it was the Story of two different people becoming close to each other, creating the relationship lots of fans worshipped. It was Joel's story. The story of a disappointed and cruel bastard who becomes soft because of the little girl. The Love Story. Part 2 literally killed and raped both main characters And Us, games, by making us play for Joel's killer. I didn't wait 7 years to play for some random terminator woman whom I started to despise from the very beginning. The whole gameplay was disappointing, boring and disgusting! As to Dina - I'm not homophobic- I liked Ellie's friend from Left Behind - she was strong, funny and likable character!! Worth of our time and hearts. Where Dina is just... well... superficial. In short: TLOU 2 is a dull and stupid game that KILLED all the best that was in the original story and even Left Behind. Expand

Even if you are not emotionally Attached to the character Joel this would still get you angry of the poor justification of the character Abby they've tried so hard to like her character but failed so bad that everyone just want to kill her for killing Joel, Still a bold decision by naughty dog but didn't expect this naughty feedback. Abby Character design just gets on my nerves they should've kept her as a villain. WORST CHARACTER DESIGN AND WORST WRITING Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us Part II is, quite frankly, the best game I have ever played. Combat and gameplay are similar to the first game, but is expanded in smart and intuitive ways. But the real standout is the story, and the way it unfolds. There is a point halfway through the game where the story takes a twist that I've never seen before in a game. Chances are you will feel frustrated and you will be reluctant to keep playing. This is intentional. When you get to that point (and you will know it when it happens), take a deep breath, and keep going. There is much more to the story than meets the eye. On the whole, this game is a masterpiece. A work of art that raises the bar of what a video game can be. A worthy 10/10. Expand

my disappointment is undescribable with this game so many years for such a empty feeling at the end of it is so unsatisfying I might as well go to mcdonalds for a better time overall and a better value for my money. It is still an absolutely beautiful game i just disagree with the story that failed to meet expectations and maybe if it was in a different order it would have been better.

The game was beautiful in so many ways. Narrative was meh. The fact that we did have to play for suuuuch a long time as Abby was soooo not a fun task despite the clear reason why. The message is important. Yeah, I get it. Forgive and let go yadda yadda. If we could have had a bit more of Ellie, maybee that would have justified a lot of things and hate towards Abby.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Decisions that made narrative sense, and gave the story meaning and weight. The game also introduces a roster of new characters that are not immediately likeable, but i personally grew to understand and love. The game mechanics is also stellar, improving on the all the good parts of the first game, and introducing a few new and fun things. Graphics are top notch.

Naughty Dog could have just made another fun stealth zombie shooter like the first game, but they chose to do that while also telling a story that questions themes such as violence, tribalism, and how humans deal with loss, grief, and vengeance. I personally feel like this was an ambitious take that paid off, and has raised the bar for videogames, to affect people on the level of art. Thats not to say videogame isn't already art. It takes a team of various skillsets to make any videogame. and it takes them years to get a game into the hands of gamers who could easily disparage it even without playing it . So if you've read the leaks and dislike what you read, or you've heard a lot of vitriolic comments about the game but havent tried it for yourself, do give it a fair knock before writing it off. you may not agree with all of the choices ND made in this game which is completely fair, but you will definitely get something out of it!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. From what I understand there are 3 main issues people have with this incredible game. 1. Wokeness: I understand the curiosity and confusion that comes with encountering a non-gender conforming person. I know that most people will think that the inclusion of so many LGBT people in this game was done so that they could appear woke. However I think that critique comes from people who don’t have a lot of diversity in their own lives. There will eventually be a time where LGBT characters in main roles will be not controversial at all, maybe when our own lives are equally diverse. O

    2. The villain:I hated Abby from the moment that she killed Joel and when I had to play her I was annoyed. I kept on dying whenever I was forced To attack Elli. I didn’t believe that it was fair for Abby to get a redemptive art after she completed her revenge against Joel. I found it annoying and not believable whenever she all of a sudden took interest in taking care of two children. It felt forced But then at the end, she was given redemption by caring more about the life of that kid than her own. It wasn’t until the very end that I actually liked Abby and found myself trying to stop Ali from killing her. I don’t know if I wanna ever see her again but I’m glad I met her. 3. The Ending: The best part of the last game was the ethical dilemma at the end. I never thought that Joel should have killed all the fire flies and stop the creation of a cure so that Ellie could live. At the very end of this game, we realize that all we went through to kill Abby was for nothing. Right before Abby’s last breath Ellie suddenly sees a glimpse of a memory that saves Abby’s life. Later on we see the full memory. Ellie is mad at Joel because now Ali has to find meaning in her life. Before she knew her meeting, she was a cure . Now she has to be like the rest of us and find our own lives’ meaning. Ellie has to find a meaning for her life. At the very end we don’t know a lot about what Ellie wants her life‘s meaning to be, but we know that it doesn’t even involve more senseless death and that’s why Abby gets to live.

The gameplay gave me everything I’ve ever wanted from video game combat, its **** viceral and so intense that there were sections that actually left my hands shaking with Ellie’s. The graphics, art direction, animation, and acting performances are the very best I’ve ever seen in a game. But all of these masterfully crafted elements rely on one thing to make them all work - the writing. I was initially left incredibly dissapointed by the entire experience, but upon reflection and a second playthrough, I’ve realized that there is a lot of good in this story - most of it, in fact. *Spoilers* I have a lot of crtiticisms of the decision to have us play as a new character for half of the game. To put it simply, her actions had nothing to do with my disinterest in her story, my disinterest in her story is due to how interested they made me in Ellie’s story. I think what they did with Ellie’s character and her arc was beautiful and honest, and I loved every second I spent with her. With Abby, I didn’t feel hate - I felt nothing. I felt disconnected with her character and with her companions. This meant I was disconnected with everything else too. I virtually checked out for ten hours of this game because I was desperate to get back to the character I have gotten to know and slowly understand over the last seven years through what adds up to about 30 hours of gameplay, plus a comic book. I understood Abby and her motivations, but I simply couldn’t get myself invested in her story, because the excellent writing had made me too invested in Ellie’s. Overall, this game is an outstanding achievement and I cannot express how incredible it is to see such great representation through complex, nuanced, and flawed lesbian lead character. The ten hour Abby detour just didn’t work for me, but that’s just me, and there will be many who will find Abby’s inclusion a wonderful experience. Expand

    Graphics: 10
    Gameplay: 10
    Story: 9

The gameplay was incredibly immersive and a huge step up from the first game. you can hide in small grass, under trucks, navigate through small crevasses, etc. It was amazing and incredible.

The graphics were probably the best I've seen on the PS4. so it has to be a 10.

The story was incredible until the last 2 hours and because it took me just over 20 hours to beat the game, thats 1/10th of the story so I have to take a point off. Although I understand the ending from a theoretical point of view, I hated having to perform the action. I don't want to beat Ellie to near death. I don't want to drown Abby. But the game could not progress without me doing that. It wasn't enjoyable and I hated that section. I also hated how Ellie chose to get revenge on Abby after Abby had spared her life TWICE. three times total if you include abby driving away on the boat.

I did really like the symbolism of ellie losing her fingers so she can't play guitar - her last connection to Joel. That really dug in me the heart then. But the ending wasn't enjoyable to play/watch. So for that I give 9/10 for the story.

    So, in total, 29/30
    rounded to 10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A split narrative game that is very polarizing, hence the positive and negative responses without much middle-ground. It forces you to play and experience two sides of a conflict. Empathy is the name of the game. People will complain about having to play half the game as Abby or that Joel was murdered too soon. But the story plays out quite masterfully. It's a story about survival and forgiveness that masquerades as a revenge story, but if you look deeper, isn't. Every single character is flawed in some ways, some more deeply than others. The writers want you to think about what it means to be a hero or villain because it's all just perspective in TLOU. That said, all of the characters are memorable. I haven't come out of a game being able to list all the major or even semi-important characters by name since the Witcher 3. The actual gameplay is about what you would expect from a sequel to the first game. Decent gunplay, melee combat, lots of QTEs, no player driven choices other than when/how to explore some of the map. It's not a game for everyone, I can understand some of the criticism. Not the homophobic comments, or "Abby is a muscular woman and I can't get over it" comments, or that Joel is actually some noble hero that didn't in any way deserve to die comments. I see a lot of those. But I encourage those that gave up on it early, or only heard bad things about it second-hand, to give it another chance because the build-up is great and the most intense sequences in the later part of the game are going to stick with me for quite some time. I loved the fact that we get to experience the same story in different ways this time. The gameplay and mecanics are familiar yet refreshing and the level of detail is exceptional. The new characters are well-crafted and feel real for the world of The Last of Us.
Finally, if you are not open to the new form of storytelling the game presents you with, you'll probably end up hating it - hence the review bombing. But if you let Naughty Dog tell you their story the way it was intended to, the game will take you to another level of narrative.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I feel as though this game has been bombarded by people who had the game spoiled for them and either watched a youtuber had a bad time or only focusing on digging up the negative elements.

My main problem is fans never coming to understand the ending of the original game and viewing the main character from as a unbreakable moral pillar and his death in the second game as pointless shock value. Which I wholeheartedly disagree with.

I cannot believe people cannot exit the narrative for even a second to see that the end of the first game is a classic trolley problem. You can argue both sides but we have to add the circumstances that Joel also murdered a host of people (including Marlene Ellies only mother figure) to turn the trolley track to hit humanity.

People even try to break down the fictional universe science using real world science to justify Joel's actions. "The fireflies couldn't have made a cure" is something I hear a lot often levied at the writers (even though there word is usually definite). I don't care about the logistics of a cure. The way I see it Joel would have fought his way through the hospital if it was a 10% chance to make a cure or a 90% maybe even 100%. In Joel's mind he's just saving a girl because he couldn't save his own.

Even though I think his death scene was handled fine, people have criticisms about how the circumstances of the characters death was handled. I believe that even in a world where he died in fans "perfect circumstances" people would still complain about Joel's death because for the plot to work he has to die horrifically and in the first act.

People are so angry at this fictional characters death that they are blindsided by rage and go straight into harassing the developers or writers without considering why this character died. It's also not like a real person died, after that point in the game he appears in several flashbacks with some of the best dialogue in the series.

The part I disliked about the game was Abby's half of the campaign. Not the content but more the structure. The character work is really tight but is let down by the fact that these characters (Abby, Owen, Mel, Manny, WLFs, Nora, etc...) only have 3 days to get as much development as characters that have had whole games to get personalities. The dialogue is all very good

Some of the theming and comparisons come across as a little heavy handed like the double pregnancies. The game feeds you a lot of information with Abby in such a short time like how she saved a Zebra and how she was in a love triangle, This has lead a lot of people into feeling manipulated by the plot because the game feeds you so many reasons to like abby in such a short time.

But after coming around to Abby just as a character and not her place in the plot I've come to love the idea that Abby doesn't always know the right thing to do but the people around her do, she's constantly redeemed by the people around her and talk her out of making bad decisions which is really interesting.

If Abby had been given more time or had somehow been intercut with Ellie. If it were up to me I would have made Abby's campaign optional after completing Ellies because honestly you don't need to know Abby's story before the theater while your invested in Ellie, Ellie only has to feel a little bit of pity by the end of the game for the ending to make sense which Abby's campaign doesn't need to be present for.

That's just my thoughts on some of the more controversial story elements. But I haven't talked about gameplay.

I think for single player action adventure tlou2 has no match, I won't go in depth but it is perfect and my grounded playthrough was a once in a lifetime experience

Puzzles are much more interesting than the first game, a quarter as many ladder puzzles and no water pallet puzzles was great.

The only chapter where the game started to drag was Jackson and Ellie day 1.

Music was great but unlike the first there are no tracks i'd listen to outside of setting ambiance.

Upgrade trees were much tighter than the first.

Best dynamic animation work in a game since red dead 2.

Collectibles were fun but I always think there are way to many and that letters shouldn't count.

Graphically amazing but wish the film grain would go away, also made my ps4 fan go off like crazy.

The faction and character dialogue writing always stays at the top rung.

I think I touched everything I wanted to talk about.

Frustrating at times to be sure but a beautifully told story that challenges the player to appreciate perspective and the duality of man. Combat and looting is fun though some more environmental puzzles would’ve have been good. Shouldn't be judged as merely a continuation of a beloved story or to ones own expectations but on its own merits and appreciated for what it’s trying to achieve.Frustrating at times to be sure but a beautifully told story that challenges the player to appreciate perspective and the duality of man. For me at least, the character you hate from the start becomes a character that you empathize with towards the end, this left me torn between who was in the right and who was in the wrong. The gameplay is smooth and satisfying with a great combat style similar to the first game.
The graphics are IMPECCABLE! I spend so much time admiring the scene I’m in.
Although I can understand the controversy regarding some major plot points, I believe each person must play the game before establishing an opinion. As well, you should stay open minded to try an understand the actions of some characters, imagine yourself in their place, what would you do? It’s hard so understand characters you want to hate, but that’s what, in my opinion, is beautiful about this game. It allows you to understand both sides of the story, and it does so amazingly.

My honest review is that I truly don’t think I’ll ever have an experience like this in my lifetime again. The amount of work these people put into this game shows, and it shows a LOT. From the sounds (if you shoot a person, the death screams are haunting. If you shoot them in the mouth or throat, you can hear the blood fill up their throat and lungs. It’s insanely realistic. Even the sound of rain as it hits different surfaces.. you can HEAR the difference) to the facial expressions were absolutely phenomenal. One thing I kept mentioning was how REAL the characters looked and acted. Their facial expressions were so amazing to look at. It was awe-inspiring. The mechanics were near flawless, the environment was beautiful from the forest down to the scary, spore-infested buildings.
As for the story, I don’t want to say too much due to spoilers, but it had me hooked from beginning to end. It broke my heart and ravished my soul over and over again but I feel like it was a GOOD thing. It pulled emotions from me harder than any game I have ever played previous to this (I have a large back catalog of these) to the point that I cried remembering some things even after the credits rolled and I had the time to take a day to think about it.
I chose to give this game a 10/10. It is well-deserving of this score and I wish I could rate it higher.
    Well done, Naughty Dog.

Well the gameplay is extremely fun on the harder difficulties. The type of fun that gets your heart pumping. Except for one boss battle which was more frustrating than fun, the gameplay is phenomenal.

The story does something that I feel no other medium would be able to replicate to this fine of a degree, it forces you to empathize.

As foreign of a concept that may seem to people who just wanted to feel good playing the game, it truly makes you apart of the world that's so realistic that it took me a few days after finishing the game to process whatever that story was.
But with time, I realized how much of a masterpiece this game was.

Yes a few hiccups do exist but as a whole it is everything a game can be and then some.
