    You read about story already and all this tolerance that flying in your face is annoying as F.

    If I could return this game like in Steam, I would return it in half an hour.

    No, this is not better than the first one, even if the game system is good (still feels crappy like RE6) the ducking story, and the characters, you would be better not paying for this, get a bag of Doritos, it will last longer and will be way better

    The first game was a masterpiece, the second is total garbage! It has better graphics which is expected and gameplay looks almost the same. Main issue is the story, they ruined the franchise. If I wanted a nonsense message I'd rather get it from a fortune cookie.

    I'm not just hopping on the hate bandwagon here. The story and writing in this game is genuinely TERRIBLE. Its actually bizarre at some points.

    The visuals look great, gameplay is like the last game. But its just a chore to get through. Really pathetic to see the swarms of "10/10" reviews for this steaming pile of trash.     Trash game and false advertising. There is zero interactions with Joel, only flashbacks. Naughty Dog purposefully put "old Joel" in the trailers talking w Ellie, but in the game it's all flashbacks and he's younger. Pure trash and they should be fined. They destroyed what could've been an awesome sequel for political agendas. This is what you get snowflakes and liberals, enjoy your handiwork

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'll be the first to say that sequels have it tough, especially considering how the first was arguably one of the best games to come out. The first was a fan favorite due to the story's writing and the relationship dynamic between Ellie and Joel. It was perfect, or as close as it could be, especially with it's ending. I will always remember having to choose between sacrificing Ellie for the betterment of humanity, or saving her to let her life her life. The ending played on your morals and your sense of duty, it was perfect.

    The Last of US 2 is not a sequel, it may have the same characters, name, and setting etc, but it's not the same game. It's a **** show. The contrast in reviews between critics and users is laughable. It's abundantly clear that the critics were paid for their 10/10 reviews, because anyone playing this would immediately know it's garbage.

    Sure the graphics were amazing. And it's improved it's crafting system, a few other things when compared to the first. But the storyline is nonexistent. Killing Joel was definitely a downer, but this wouldn't have been the first game that's killed off an important beloved character. When done right, it can truly improve the storyline and promote character growth with the remaining cast. That wasn't the case here. Killing Joel off was bad enough, but doing it in the way you did, making a show of it, was just disgusting. Worse yet you made us play as "Abby" the one who literally beat Joel to death. It's obvious that you intended for us to grow attached to her throughout her storyline. How we'd learn her motivations in killing Joel, and eventually grow to care for the character. That obviously failed.

    Making us hate the character we are about to play as was truly one of the worst things you've could have done. If that wasn't bad enough, the ending was truly pathetic and pointless. Ellie's storyline throughout the game is one of revenge. It was written poorly, but it was definitely a motivating goal for most of us playing. Ellie killed hundreds of people throughout the game for her revenge, but in the end choose to spare Joel's killer, like what the **** was that? You even made her lose some fingers in the fight, yet she still choose to let them go?

    A better ending wouldn't have made this any better, but it sure would have been more tolerable. A better ending would have been to choose between Killing Abby yourself, or letting her die off slowly while on the cross. That would been so much better the **** we ended up getting. What a disappointment, you ruined Joel's character by killing him off in the way you did, and completely ruined Ellies as well.    … Expand

I was so hyped for this game that you would literally have to humiliate and brutally murder one of the main characters from the previous game to get me to dislike it. Even then, I would probably be open to one of the characters dying, if the story was presented in a compelling way. Unfortunately this story is not. In fact, you are tasked with playing as your hero's murderer halfway into the game, and the writer (Neil Druckmann) wants ever so bad to make you feel sorry for this character. To feel compelled by her story and to sympathize with her torturing and clubbing Joel to death. Well, Neil, I do not. This story reeks of shock factor for the mere existence of it. It is so far up its own ass you wonder how Druckmann ever came out for air to put this thing into existence.


    I would never recommend this game, especially to fans of the original. This is offensively terrible story writing and it's a shame that the first games writer (Bruce Straley) wasn't here to reign it in.    … Expand

This game sucks all in all i have waited for 7 years so i could enjoy last of us and a little story progress why did they have to give us this depressing and extremely violent story and then to go and kill joel because of that NPC that we did not even try to kill that was the choice made by the developer was there a choice its like dark violence porn that you kill half the human that are left alive just to get your enemy only to spare her life its a **** game now i even regret i wished for a part 2 part 1 already had a perfect ending.… Expand

    For all our love in the original TLOU, it is a disappointment that the characters we loved get stuck into this twisted story. They do not deserve it, and we don't deserve it.

    The worst case scenario at how you can destroy a perfect game. This sequel is a shame for the first title. Too bad. I cry for the amount that I pay. Never again pre-order for ANYTHING!!!

The characters are turned 180 degrees and pretty much unnoticeable. Post apocalyptic doesn't mean anything in this game.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
