im not a huge fan of last of us 1, i dont think it is a masterpiece in story telling or writing it is one of the most cliché stories but if done well it is objectively easy to empathize and like the characters, especially Joel. With last of us 2 base of the problem is the story tries to be not like last of us 1. Meybe writers does not even understand the story telling tricks of last of us 1 and what type of story it is, why it worked, i think Neil Druckmann delusionaly belives last of us 1 to be something more then what it is and because of that he thinks his "genius-ness" of masterful and complex story telling is the reason why people love last of us 1, this delusion turns his confidence into a trap and eventualy causes the downfall of the story in the last of us 2. Last of us 2 acts a lot like kojima games, and it takes huge inspirations from games like mgs2 sons of liberty, and death stranding among others. now taking inspriration does not mean you are not being innovative, you cannot start from 0. every thing is build on top of the things come before but if you are litteraly the flag ship of the gaming industury, i think you should be more innovative but not simply take unnecicery risks, after all you are making a product not just art. last of us 2 fails at taking necicery risk and making them worth it, while i appresiate the taken risks in first few hours of the game, i think these risksl will put so many people down that already payed 60 dolars to the game and there is no goind back at that point. Marketing of the game is trying so hard to hide these things and i think this is a big f*** you to these people because,it pusposefully missinforms the customer. It is almost like "if you dont agree with us you are dumb and we know better you better be agreeing with us because you dont have much choice, you eiter already wasted your money or continue playing the game and try to agree with us."and it sucks. Now lets talk about innovation and inspiration part. Again last of us 2 takes a lot of inspiration from kojima, it acts like kojima games, but it does try to innovate on a genius material without being genius.they deffinitly do not understand the mecanics of the desing on inspired material, they just focus on the shiny parts of tricks kojima uses, and they do not study how kojima makes them work.Kojima always makes his games self-conscious even tho he wants to make movies,he knows he makes games.Last of us 2 is not self-conscious it wants to be a movie but it is not, becausese of this mistake gameplay becomes a drag and immersion braking, pacing is bad,it tries so hard to humanize the enemies for the sake of being a movie like experience but ai becomes predictable and robotic after some time, combat encounters almost always plays the same it act like giving choice to the player but choices player makes do not vary compared to the encounter count at some point in the story main character of the game starts to torture someone they hates, at this point you already understand the "genius messege" of the game but game gives you the control and the only thing you can do is press a button that tortures the person, there is no other ways to proggres the game, you know the main character has lost it and what they are doing is wrong but game thinks it is genius and treats you like an idiot, this is the main problem with last of us 2, it is constantly forced in every way, writing/story telling/gamplay, it belives it self too much so it does not realize the problems it has. and i as a person that payed money and time to this game, i think i have the right to say i expect a more proffesional product from the cutting edge production level of the gaming industry.

As of the final of this review i would like to example my critique with few fancy and blunt but meaningful sentences.

"Last Of Us Part II is not a game but a bad movie"

"Baby's first 'I have a message to deliver' story"

    "The Walking Dead with teenegers"

"It is a technical masterpiece, but it is a bad game"

If i have to do something i normally would not do, reggarding the metacritic scores controversy, i would give it a 7 out of 10.

Sorry for my writing i already wasted 4 hours writing this review im too lazy and tired to go through and fix all of this, i hope you understand the points im trying to make.

Parts of the story will leave you shocked (in a good way), make you angry, and leave you in tears. That being said, i didn’t have that same emotional connection that I did with the first one. But I don’t regret playing it. It was still a wonderful experience and it’s a shame it’s getting so many harsh reviews. Play the game and make the judgement yourself. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played the game on hard difficulty and this is what I thought. I am going to formulate this review with the good, the bad, and ugly and try to reveal all my true thought about the game.

    The Good
    - I liked Jesse and Manny as characters. They were both so kind and caring towards their friends and so wholesome I really thought I could relate to them. I was so sad watching both of them die because they were great comedic relief and supporting Characters.
    - The gameplay and the visuals are top notch. It is so satisfying to kill people and look at this world that if there was no story I would easily play this game 30 times over
    - I really enjoyed playing as Ellie more to Abby because I liked her more as a character and I enjoyed not being the strongest character physically but definitely emotionally. Also I loved how she used a switchblade it made everything more brutal and satisfying
    - The exploration in this game is good I am glad they opened the world a little more than the first one because I will admit the first game felt very linear for long times.
    - New puzzles were a nice touch as every fight with Ellie felt like a puzzle because you just were not that strong. Unlike Abby were you literally could just sadistically kill everyone with your fists.
    - The Flashbacks are amazing for both characters. Especially with Joel, because it gives us a more in depth look at his character during the past four years
    - The parallel between Owen and Abby, and Dina and Ellie is a nice touch. As Dina and Owen both try their hardest to help them forget about vengeance and just move on but neither one of them succeed.

    The Bad
    - Playing as Abby is very hard after you watch her brutally kill Joel our hero from the first game. She is also boring at times because she seems to show almost no emotion to anybody except for Lev and Yara, but even then it's hard to tell because she does not show it on her face. She only shows through her actions and that is almost always killing someone even her one people. I got very bored of it by Seattle Day 2, the only redeeming quality was the combat as it is fun at times. Also that hospital scene versus the giant monster is amazing and so freaking cool.
    - Mel is a very boring and flat character in my opinion. The only reason i care about her is because she is killed by Ellie and she is pregnant. It is very hard to watch and it really makes Ellie think "what if that was Dina." But besides that Mel is nothing really except just stupid for getting herself involved in this mess. She should have stayed home and just had the baby in my opinion.

    The Ugly
    - Joel's Death is hard to watch and it happens way to early in the game in my opinion. However, I get why they did it in the way they did. Watching it happen really wants to makes you want to just destroy Abby and make sure she dies the most brutal death possible. But sadly this revenge story is ruined by the fact that i have to play 10 hours as Abby and try to sympathize with her as a character.
-The ending. Oh where do I start with this because there is not even an ending in my opinion. What I loved about the first game is that it had a great ending and a sequel was not even necessary to make that story make sense. But after this I am leaving with more questions than answers and I wish that the game had cut the Abby play through except for the flashbacks and really try to flesh out a satisfying ending. Let me be clear after that had happened I did not want either character to die. Mainly because they just both need to move on and let it go to have closure. If one of them had died there would heave never have been closure and the other would still be struggling. I think it could have been done better though.
    - Where the hell is Dina!! At the end of the game Ellie goes back to the farm only to find everyone gone and no Dina. I just personally do not like this part of the ending as I do not see Dina giving up on her that quick after this story

    Final Verdict
The Last of Us part 2 is one hell of a game. It is definitely very unique, brutal, emotional, and above all dark. It is very hard to finish and play for a multitude of reasons. All in all I will give it a 7 because I enjoyed playing it and characters like Jesse and Manny made me smile many times throughout my playthrough. But the story was average and disappointing. Druckmann is an insane and very ambitious writer. I understand why he wrote the game this way but I do not agree with it. However, I still respect him as a writer and i truly believe he is still one of the best entertainment writers on the planet. The Last of us is an 11/10 in my opinion this game falls short as a sequel but I cannot say I did not enjoy playing. I just wish some parts were different and were not as long as they were. In the end, the last of us part 2 is a very controversial game to say the least and I will never forget playing it.

Gameplay: 7.5/10 the gameplay doesn’t take many risks and made slight improvements on the original gameplay, which doesn’t wow me, but it didn’t make the the game feel bad to play.

First half of the story: 8/10 Joel’s death wasn’t done well, but it did feel like it had to happen for the purpose of the story, so I was somewhat okay with it. I enjoyed Ellie’s arc, even though I thought she would have a stronger stomach, for what she’d have to do to Nora. Overall, first half was pretty good besides Joel’s death.

Second half of the story: 2.5/10: I really wanted to like what they did with Abby, but just couldn’t. It was really hard to become attached to her character. I can appreciate what Naughty Dog was attempting to do, but it fell really flat. The ending: 0/10 the ending was so bad. It made sense for neither of the characters and just left me angry at the writing rather than reflective.

Overall: 7/10 I am a sucker for great visuals, so that’s the main reason I’m higher on this game than most other people. The story, however, is so bad during the latter half that I can’t give it a score any higher than this.

Gameplay and visual wise this game is amazing probably Naughty Dog's best in terms of this, but the story however is really not great and is why my score is a 7 and if your where hoping for Joel I'm sorry but there will only be around 30 mins to spend with Joel, I wouldn't recommend if you don't like the gameplay of the first game Expand

The game is a good game, and good the last of us? Yes and no, They have outdone them selves with the gameplay and graphics and I applaud them for that.

The story is a tricky thing, it is a good story but it isn’t a good last of us story, So if you just want to play a good game, then this is it, easily worth the 60 bucks

I"m less than 10 hrs in and I am having so much trouble getting through it. It's so slow. And that might change but even if it does, it just simply doesn't have much to offer gameplay wise. You run around scavenging for single bullets for 5 minutes sometimes in the dark and you hope you might run into zombies or in this game other people too but even if you do all you do is sneak around and try to stealth kill them and sometimes leave traps and sometimes shoot one or three or your 10 bullets. Then for another 10-15 minutes or longer you look for another door or another power switch to open another door but you have to run in circles and check 8 other doors to find the right one to open. Most reviews do not like the story but i have no issues necessarily with the risks they took with it. that's their choice and just bc ppl don't like it doesn't mean it's bad. The gameplay however is poorly paced, slow, lacking, and honestly possibly the most boring game i've played this year. For me this game is like a 3 or a 4. For most people I think you'll find it a 7.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game as a whole is good. Much of the game is an improvement over the first one, such as combat, exploration, collectables and weapon customisation. The only thing I can fault about the game is the unnecessary sex scene towards the middle of the game but more importantly the story.
The story for this game is a mess, the clear progression with fantastic relationships between joel and ellie is what made the first game great but in part two the story is all over the place. You play as both ellie and abby, the latter being the antagonist of the game - which is a huge mistake in my opinion as the developers try to force you to care about her even tho I personally just wanted to kill her. The sections where you play as abby are extremely boring and I rushed them to get them over with. To finish it off the ending is a massive disappointment and the definition of an anti climax. However the game is still enjoyable.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The gameplay is a step up from the original with new and smoother animations, introduced mechanics and a few extra craftables and player upgrades available. I certainly had fun exploring Seattle and Santa Barbara in all its glory. The visuals and sound effects are second to none and the amount of detail in each level is remarkable. HOWEVER, the story and characters are something else entirely. Joel has been around since outbreak day and has always had trust issues when it comes to people e.g. He sees an ‘injured’ man in Pittsburgh and knows it’s a trap straight away. He leaves a family on the side of the road at the start of tlou. Yet the writing in this game is so bad that we’re expected to believe he’s going to tell a bunch of strangers his name, about the settlement and where they’re living, and then stand in the middle of the room surrounded and helpless like a deer in the headlights. It’s tragic when Joel dies but what’s worse is the ludicrously unbelievable way in which it happens. This is why people are pissed, not because Joel is dead, but because of how he dies. Even before his death the writers have undone everything from the first game as the relationship between Joel and Ellie is uncomfortable from the start of part 2. I would have preferred Ellie to have found out the truth about the fireflies at the very end of part 2, thus not tainting her relationship with Joel as well as justifying why she spared Abby as she realises Joel deserves to die for his actions. After finishing the game some 25 hours later, I can tell you the story continues its downward trend throughout, with choppy flashbacks and a skewed timeline; it’s as if the writers dropped the script and then couldn’t put the pages back the right way so just went with it anyway. Character development is lacking, I found myself caring more about the death of Tess after 30 minutes of gameplay in tlou than the death of characters like Jesse and whatever Levs’ sister’s name is after hours of playing with them in tlou2. There’s millions of other points to touch on about this game but I’m already repeating what thousands of fans have already said. It’s a shame a storyline as remarkable as tlou is brought down by an unnecessary sequel. Also lack of factions is very disappointing. Ignore all the stupid 0/10. Even if you think the story is hot garbage, the game itself is enjoyable and the immersion of the world is impeccable. Anything less than 3-4/10 would be a false review from someone who is; joining the bandwagon of hate, reached Joel’s death and is angry, believes that the directors and writers have an agenda to push. You don’t spend 7 years making a game to push an agenda onto the world.

    Gameplay: 8.5/10

No Spoilers - Honest High Level Review.

I divide this review into 2 main parts, technical aspects and story.

    1. Technical: The Last of Us Part II is an absolute masterpiece if you look at the quality of the game play, graphics and overall atmosphere of the game. All the levels are beautifully crafted, the weapons are smooth and lethal, the violence is raw and the levels are scary and emotional. Because of this, I don't blame the developers or designers at Naughty Dog, they've done an incredible job and should be praised and compensated for it.

    2. Story: The piece that breaks the experience and the reason why there are so many negative reviews. Simply put, the story makes no sense. Key and beloved character murdered in almost the first hour of game play seems to imply that the game will be fast paced but the game ends up taking 25+ hours to finish. From the murder scene mentioned, nothing happens outside of a couple deaths of characters that you don't even get to know. The story ends without anything major happening, the last scene is one that could be blamed for the debacle. The last couple hours of game play should have never been included in the game, again, absolutely nothing happens but a symbolic loss of flesh (sounds weird and it is).

Conclusion: it's pretty easy to say that the Last of Us series is done. Taking into account the story of this game and the negative reaction of the public, I can almost guarantee that it won't even cross the mind of Neil Druckmann to create another part for this series. On a personal note, I was amazed by the quality of the game play but extremely disappointed by the story and the choices made in this game. One big let down that will be hard to forget.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played the first TLOU a week before this game came out and I found it pretty enjoyable. It wasn't bad but it wasn't my favorite. I thought the gameplay was alright, the only thing that subtracted my opinions on the gameplay was the fact that the infected were not fun to fight, for me personally. The ending however was amazing, I thought it was such a cool climax to the story of how Joel did not want to lose the only thing left he had in his life

TLOU2 had a cool story concept, trying to take down Abbys friends to find her location and get avenge Joel, but I feel like the execution could have been better

    The Good:
The Gameplay: Even though it is almost the exact same gameplay as the first game, I felt like they added mechanics that made the gameplay loop a little bit more enjoyable in this game. I loved the dodge and prone features the most, those added a lot to the encounters. The jump button was pretty useless though lol. (Gameplay - 8/10)

Graphics: Not a lot can be said about this. The graphics were super stunning and created amazing environments, although every once in a while a characters model would look a bit weird(Graphics - 9/10)

    The Eh:
Story (Before the ending) : First off I want to say I didn't hate the story, but there are some subtle things here and there that I thought was dumb. The first plot point I thought was kind of dumb was the fact that Joel saved Abby. In the first game he knows not to trust people, it's shown multiple times throughout the game, but in this story he just finds a random girl in the woods and brings her back to her place and talks about Jackson and his name?? I would understand this a lot more if they might have explained that he grew to trust people more, but this came out of no where

People also say that Joels death was stupid for such an amazing character, and I feel like this was kind of the point. I feel like Neil wanted the player to be upset that the legend went out like this, he wanted us to be upset with Abby for killing him so we can have more of a reason to want revenge, but instead more people were mad at the game and Neil

Even though that part was questionable I kept going and I was enjoying the story of trying to hunt down the people who murdered Joel and constantly getting leads to where they are, and at the same time looking for Tommy. I loved the hospital fight with Nora, and I thought the aquarium scene was pretty cool too

The next story moment that was questionable was the switch to Abby. At first I hated it. I thought "why would I want to play as the bad guy for the next 3 days", but it turned out to not be as bad as I thought it would be. I definently would've preferred to play more as Ellie though. I understood what they were trying to do with this section of the game. They wanted you to see Abby and her friends that Ellie killed as good people so you could see how both of these protagonists were hurt by each-other and they both have/had the intention to avenge a loved one. I feel like they wanted you to not root for anyone in this situation. After all of Abbys arc, I still wanted Ellie to get her revenge. I did start to like Abby as a character/villain/"good person" but I never wanted her to get away/win. Ellie was already too committed to just lose or give up. (Or so I thought)

I also didn't care for the part of Abbys story when she helps the two scar kids. I understand why she did it and why Neil wanted to do it. Neil wanted her to seem like a better person and she wanted to do it because they saved her life. But going across a tall bridge and fighting a new type pf infected boss to save that one girls life for her to just die like 45 minutes later made the entirety of Day 2 feel pointless and wasted. (Story - 7/10)

Those were the only parts of the story that really didn't sit well with me, but now it's time for the part of the game that probably disappointed me the most

    The Bad:
Ending: I first thought the ending was the first part of the farm. If it would've ended there, I would have thought it was anticlimactic, but an okay ending. But nope it had to keep going. Ellie wants to hunt down Abby to finish what Joel started. She nearly kills Abby, then stops, and lets her go, making the entire game and story (for me) feel pointless. I understood that she realized that revenge is wrong, but the last two hours of searching for Abby just to let her go felt so pointless. The ending was super unsatisfying but I feel like that was the point. I wish Ellie would have gotten her revenge and come back home to Dina, but Neil wanted to tell a different but understandable story where an unhappy ending is not uncommon in this world. (Ending - 5/10)

Overall, I enjoyed my time with the game. The game was definitely carried by the gameplay rather than the story. The story was alright with a crummy ending for Ellie.
    7/10.

    Have a great day!

This game has always been about Ellie. The truth is somewhere in the middle so take it with grain of salt. For those complaining you spent your money no one held you hostage! You didn’t have to buy it. For those giving it a 10...... come on bruh. Every thing was ruined beyond repair. I’ve played just hours in but the ending was ruined by some disgruntled employee but still. This is one of the most iconic games of alltime. The story may be a low score and the graphics a high score gameplay may be average. I believe the game deserves no lower or higher than a 7 given circumstances. I bought the collectors edition and I be dog on if I don’t enjoy myself. All in all if you a fan enjoy the game and make your own opinion. I believe those that it a 0 have a point but if you never played or knew of this game before you wouldn’t have. And I believe those that gave it a 10 got a case. But that’s fanboy territory! They know good and well this game was no masterpiece. It has flaws. This game is no 0 nor is it a 10! Expand

There is a huge narrative problem but overall The game is enjoyable. Its not a gamechanger and there is a lot that they could do better with The story and The narrative.

As a HUGE Naughty Dog fan it's really difficult to review this game, especially where it's so easy to spoil the experience for fans still wanting to the play the game, hung up on fear this game could taint how they felt about the first game. I wanted to love this game, I really did but in the end, it's just not to the caliber Naughty Dog is best known for, when their presence makes other studios cringe to have follow up with at E3--PlayStation and Xbox alike--with the reputation they always set the new Gold-Standard not just on consoles but amazing PC fans and developers as well. But, as history has repeatedly shown, every empire must soon fall.

GRAPHICALLY give Naughty Dog a piece of hardware and they'll wow you, their artists and programmers are talented and know what they're doing and Naughty Dog should take pride in that. They know how to pull off some pretty tricky stuff and you can tell--like every title previous--Naughty Dog takes what they've learned from previous games and culminate it altogether for something spectacular. They're constantly learning and growing. Their animation team deserves a metal or a trophy, or a hug, or something because they always pull it off. But, The Last of Us Part II (TLoUII) just doesn't have that wow factor that blows you away unlike TLoU where you thought the PS3 had totally been maxed out only to find ND still had one final rabbit to pull out of their hat. This game is beautiful, but I thought of 'Until Dawn' a lot while playing this and really well lit areas seemed lazy with really washed out colors and you ask what happened? There's still a lot of pop in as well and some characters models just don't seem quite ND. Honestly, even though this game runs at 1440p, possibly 4K checkerboard, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End at 1080p still is more impressive.

SOUND is world class! Voice acting performances are stellar. The soundtrack opens, carries, and closes the game masterfully. The 'Eye for An Eye' track playing during encounters had me feeling like I was playing a John Carpenter movie with some Hans Zimmer. The OPTIONS MENU lets you tinker with sound settings to get he optimal experience, these guys--honestly--are the stars of this game. Ashley Johnson's performance of "A Poor Wayfairing Stranger" however--while brave and a valiant effort--would indicate she needs to stick to acting and not pursue a career in music, it wasn't horrific, but wasn't great. Sound department ultimately in the end wins this with a perfect 10.

GAMEPLAY is exactly what you'd expect, really. Its more of the same with a little hint of Uncharted. Crafting is a key part of this game and upgrading all of your weapons. It's all here. The supplements aspect of the game was weird this time though. Environments are much more spacious which is both to the benefit and detriment of the gameplay. When I play TLoU, I don't play it like Uncharted or Gears of War, it's not a run-and-gun game, it's Metal Gear Solid. It's stealth and carefully working your way around to quietly eliminate your enemies and get out or explore to find this games some 300 hidden items, the problem is, this game get's cheap in that department. I had to restart encounters over and over again to play the game the way it should be played because the AI would send two guys right after me from the get go and I'd get caught and have to run and hide or just start over. 5000 characters just isn't enough to fully cover gameplay but it's flawed this go around. The dog aspect is neat and trying to get through that but, in some ways it felt like I was playing Uncharted with wave after wave of enemies. Finally, the game, due to the story is really bloated, a 15-20 hour experience (I didn't time myself) but it was way too long. I'd say the ND team had been playing Devil May Cry 4 a lot while developing this game.

STORY. As most have said, can TLoU stand alone without Part II? Absolutely. It's just an expansion to the story of Ellie as an adult. You're not missing out on anything by not playing it. The story is really long though, you're bored at several long points during the game. I spent so much time running around areas as well trying to find items that it distracted me from the goal of what ND was trying to do and that was tell and impactful story but I had to collect items. I didn't have so much of an issue with one major plot point most gamers did, I think it was actually a good move in creating a new story to adventure through but I--personally--wasn't happy with ND's personal agenda this time through. Is the game divisive? Yeah, it is. It's a violent game but so was the first one, this shouldn't be a surprise. But the whole gay pride and pushing that agenda seemed pretty lame. At least in TLoU Bill's character was subtle, that was the way to do it right. There's just not enough characters to write a descent review for this. It's an okay game in the end, just not a ND masterpiece as previous games.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was deeply excited for this game, and just as some of these other reviews, I was disappointment with the story. In my opinion the gameplay was fun the character interactions between Joel and Ellie in flashbacks and Dina and Ellie in real time were nice, however, the ending was depressing. It was depressing in a way leaving you with no closure. And of course, killing of the main character of the last game in a horrid way was hard to believe, and then having to play 8+ hours as the person who did it made the matters all worse. It was fun, emotional, and interesting, for the most part, but left me disappointed that NaughtyDog messed this one up a bit. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. When I first heard people weren't going to like the game, I was nervous about how it would affect me when I experience the game for the first time. I didn't want anyone to die, but Joel did. But is it a bad game? No. Is it a masterpiece? No. This game has flaws, which made me not care about the story. The most fun I had with the game is when I had to get the boat as Abby with my "friend" strangely enough, that kid reminds me of Atreus from the god of war(btw a masterpiece), I enjoyed that mission because of the crazy **** that is happening all around the character, but that's beside the point. Graphics are always good, its naughty dog ofc. The control feels unresponsive from time to time. The combat is the strong point of the game. The way enemies react when their friends die, and they call out their names in anger and sadness, this made me wonder how they would improve from this? The gore is realistic to the point that I stop and sometimes see the enemies' heads on how it was impacted by a bullet. Also, the environment is always breathtaking; I like how detailed every house looks on how they were run down and in ruins, I thought that was cool. In the end, This with death stranding might go down as one of the polar games in recent history; I enjoyed the game just like how I do with a Mario game, don't care about the story, and focus all on gameplay. I give this game a 7/10

The gameplay is awesome, challenging at times yet easy to learn. Graphics/Mechanics could've been better but considering the limits of the ps4 system Naughty Dog have done a great job of taking advantage of what it offers. There are plenty of popular games that make me want to just rush trough the game without thoroughly exploring it, but not this one. It made me want to explore every corner of it and I still missed so much. The game does a very good job of making you feel like you truly are in a post-apocalyptic world with its destroyed environment literally collapsing under your feet, ghost towns, constant fear of getting jumped at, nature taking back what humans took from it and the limited resources that force you to make your every shot count. The reason this is not 10/10 Is because the story left me with a big question mark after finishing it. It started tragically, ended unexplained and not satisfyingly enough. It just felt like all the bonds I had with the first game were spat at and left dead on the ground (you know the reference). Expand

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
