    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Although I haven't played the game yet, but judging from the playthrough on youtube, I think this game is not bad but not good either. I like where they're trying to go with the story with the whole revenge plot but it could've been a lot better than this. The first game ended with joel's lie to Ellie and Joel's action in the end. The second game is the consequences of Joel's action in the last game. Joel's death could've been done way better than it did. I think playing as Abby for 12 hours was so unnecessary. After what Abby did to Joel, they made Abby like one of the most hated video game character of all time. So no matter what she did in the story, nothing will ever change our mind on her. In the end Ellie goes head on with Abby, she then has flashes of Joel then decided to spare Abby after she bit her fingers, we don't like that. Then Ellie goes back home, she can't play the guitar then roll credits. Here's what I think about the ending. Ellie sparing Abby in the end was a huge mistake, then what was it all for, Ellie fought her way to this point for nothing. Although the game was trying to teach us a lesson, revenge never ends well for anyone, Ellie could've lived a happy life with Dina and JJ. But instead, she went on to hunt for Abby. After she went back home, Dina left her and now she's all alone. I kinda liked how it ended but hated it at the same time, so I have mixed feelings towards this game, it's good but it's so bad at the same time. The graphics, facial animation, dialogue was on point. Definitely stunning and one of the most beautiful graphics I've ever seen in a video game. But Uncharted 4 was a bit better. Attention to detail was amazing, and the references was fantastic. So in conclusion, this game was alright, could've been alot better, the story was not good and not bad it was whatever but it was a disappointment for alot of people, it did not exceed my expectations and many other fans but for me it was whatever.… Expand

    Characters and Story
    None of the new characters are interesting or likeable, plot is drawn out and boring. Character deaths feel forced, lazy and cheap. Joel a major character in the game gets killed of 2 hours into the game just for shock value and just used as a plot device for Ellie's revenge. The game tries to make you to try and feel sympathy for this new character Abby but it doesn't work after what she did to Joel. Ellie doesn't get her revenge making her journey seem pointless and ends up losing everything at the end which makes it hopeless, playing 20 hours of a game just for a unsatisfying conclusion.

    Gameplay and visuals

    Visually this game looks great atmosphere and locations look stunning, riding through Seattle, the part where they are on the island and the houses of the island is burning looks absolutely great gameplay remains the same just some new added features like the jump and dodge button, not much but it remains okay.

    начнем с того что эта игра полностью надругалась над первой частью. играя на чуствах заядлых геймеров , которые влюбились в первую часть нам продают пропоганду гомосексуализма, ненависти к биологически естественному виду отношений.
    так же выставляя мужчин более слабыми по скилу. я считаю это максимальным не уважем. человек купивший пс 3 для первой    эх, с чего начать?

    Another example of Progressive garbage ruining a franchise the gameplay and graphics was very top notched but the story is garbage, poorly written and very dissapointing. Which made thegame worse

    The first game was ok I'd give 6/10. Objectively is not a good GAME, it's a good movie but as a game is lacking. You could have made this game in the 2000's and gameplay wise It would be the same, so for that reason I don't like It. AI sucks and halfway through is getting repetitive, and you can't argue with that, you may not care but I do and It's important 'cause this is a game not aThe first game was ok I'd give 6/10. I've read the spoilers before the game was released and I thought "I get the point of the story and what's trying to do but is poorly executed". Here it's the game and people pretty much hate it.     Such a pretty game. It is a shame about the story. If only they had put as much thought into the characters, as they had the graphics, it might have been fun to play.

Chrakters are bland, Joel gets killed right of the bat, Ellie is pretty flat as a character, her "girlfriend" Dina is, too. There's almost no story behind her nor does she get shown a lot in the game. Every character also gets kicked out the game instantly, nothing emotional (not even Joels death). Not even the characters remember them after they're dead. You play as the unlikable Abby for half the game. NO ONE LIKES HER. It's also unbelievable that Joel gets with a group of people he doesn't know, and Abby killing him after he saved her life. This then all comes down to Ellie and Abby killing person after person until pretty much no one even remotely interesting is left (not even Ellie, as her character also got really bland in this game and didn't develop at all, just like every other character).

    Joel pretty much gets a big fat "f*ck you" in his face from Ellie while he's alive in the first 10% of the game. Then, suddenly Ellie gets mad and wants to kill Abby, which she eventually...

    DOESN'T DO. In the end when you get back to the house it all seems like a bad nighmare with actually nothing happening in the real world in tlou2.

    In the end the devs, trailers and the game itself cover up everything that made the first game great (aside from Gameplay, which was quite alright) with great visuals and sound design. And unfortunately players of the 1st game get blinded by that.
    It feels rushed. Everything. It's a trash game. Good graphics tho I guess...

    Gets a one 1 Star because the game is visually stunning. The gameplay is just okay. The story is what makes this game truly terrible. Such bad writing, it thinks it’s much smarter than it is.

    I could describe my feeling as a BIG disappointment. Yes, some people could say - hey, developers did a great job to provide good graphics, UX/UI, you should be grateful for this. Yes, true. But I personally play in many games, include the Last of US 2 because of the story which they did the Last of the US. And they just destroy all magic of the original tale. So I give 1 point - I don'tI could describe my feeling as a BIG disappointment. Yes, some people could say - hey, developers did a great job to provide good graphics, UX/UI, you should be grateful for this. Yes, true. But I personally play in many games, include the Last of US 2 because of the story which they did the Last of the US. And they just destroy all magic of the original tale. Oh no NPC is dead don't you feel so bad?     Only minor game-play improvements over it's predecessor. Story is irredeemably bad, constant pandering and SJW nonsense boiled the story down to an incomprehensible mess. Massive disservice to past characters to pander to SJWs.

Для меня была неожиданность смерть Джоэла, как будто отняли что-то личное, родное. В тот момент я переживал Элли и полностью разделял её намерения о мести. Но чёртовы доги так играют с эмоциями, что чем дальше, тем сложнее смотреть на Элли, во что она превращается. Ещё очень сильная часть игры, это был показан конфликт с двух сторон, тяжело было смотреть на их истязания в конце. Вообще, конец максимально грустный, Элли заплатила за свою месть. Я считаю оно того не стоило, просто мне очень интересно что бы на всё это сказал Джоэл, как бы он направил Элли? Ставлю 10-ку, хоть и первые 2 часа геймплея за Эбии были нудноваты, но на фоне всего остального эти 2 часа меркнут. Просто возьмите геймпад и пройдите её.… Expand

    The logic to tell a story seems to be understandable that the main character SHOULD be stronger and more powerful than any other NPC, At least he/she won't be easy to be killed or got killed for nothing. People usually plays games for escaping reality to gain something that they can never have in real life, for example happiness and joy, but not frustration or confuse. I don't need to be told that revenge is bad or eye for an eye makes the whole world blinds. I think the reason most of the player bought this game is seeing the character development after the last game. And yet they wrote Joel to be dead to show there are two sides of a coins(events). The game play and visual didn't save the game from the fall of expectation. Misleading trailer is a sin of the Naughty Dogs Company. THEY are successful to make people feel Joel will take place in this game but he didn't. Naughty Dog made a huge mistake on telling the story, and departed from some of the ex-employee.:(… Expand

Especially those Emotional Face Expression of Characters, both during in game and cutscences However, with such astonishing achievement, the story which these    4 points for the Technical, 1 point for the story.

    However, with such astonishing achievement, the story which these Technical performance give Advantages to tell, the story itself is poor. In order to not spoil, I could say the story divide into two parts, almost can say it could two different storyline for the game. Yet, Naught Dog have made poor decision to combine and how they did it. Which nearly bur all the good sides of the stories, and made players wondering what the purpose for playing, which I believe is doesn’t and shouldn’t matter with other values and message developers what to carry out. This feeling is far more significant when one playing on Hard/Survivor difficulty, when the story is one of the biggest motivation for challenging gameplay, unlike any FromSoft game that is gameplay is already far more than enough.

    One might argued that TLOU2 is relatively good in a absolute standard, but lets not forget many Big Companies and Studios always could create new game with good graphic etc, which they should able to do so. Good Graphics are just the means to present a great story, especially for story telling game like TLOU. The Lord the Rings Trilogy didn’t won multiple Oscar by high budgets or Fancy CGI, but the story and world that Tolkien created.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
