Sin duda una experiencia, te hace sufrir, odiar, llorar, reír, recordar y lo más importante, perdonar. Este no es un juego de venganza, es un juego de perdón. Una digna secuela del anterior

Yes I was sad about Joel’s death but at the same time the game would have been really boring just being in Jackson and going out doing stuff. I think them killing Joel they opened it for more content and a better story line. They could probably even continue it now and make the story line go further. I was also sad to see they switched out Joel from trailers and game play they originally had for him.It had really emotional parts and really adrenaline rushing parts. It was all over a really good game, it could have been a lot worse after he died but they made it really intriguing and fun. Expand

I felt uneasy playing this game on many occasions, but I also think that while I was often left unhappy and shaken after a session, I really feel like I got something very worthwhile out of this game.

100% please experience this game fully with an open mind. I truly think that this one is an absolute marvel and the blood, sweat and tears of the development team is truly apparent. Very honestly one of the most memorable and emotionally touching gaming experiences I've ever experienced in over two decades.

Amazing game, doesn't deserve all the hate it is getting. I can understand why fans of the first game are unhappy with some of the plot points, but what game/tv show/movie doesn't have these kinds of things happen all the time? Even if you abhor the plot, the other aspects of the game are still incredible and it really is not fair to give it such low scores.

I tend to like only action games and have very little patience for most games, yet I played through and beat this game. The combat which may feel clunky at first to FPS fans is actually very well done and makes for great gameplay. The graphics are the best I've seen and the overall polish and attention to detail is incredible. They made some interesting choices with what you do as the player which makes the game a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. There is some hate about this aspect too, but honestly I feel it adds to the game by invoking different emotions in you and also how you perceive/play being changed based on your feelings towards what is happening.
    My two complaints are:
    1) The infected are the least interesting part of the game. The combat with them feels like a chore given how much more fun and interesting the combat against other humans is.
    2) There is a bit too much "interactive movie" content where you are just walking through areas. It is great drooling at the graphics, but I would have preferred a bit more action.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After the first game, many fans debated whether Joel was in fact the true villain of The Last of Us - saving Ellie but preventing any chance of a vaccine being created to help humankind in the post apocalyptic world they live in. We sympathise with Joel's decision because we spent an entire game sharing his experiences with Ellie and if we were in his shoes who is to say we wouldn't have made the same decision (as Tommy says at the beginning of Part 2).

In The Last of Us Part 2 we get to see the aftermath of Joel's actions from the perspective of his victims - Abby finds her father killed along with all other fireflies that crossed Joel's path in the hospital. If we had never seen Joel and Ellie's journey I'm sure we would be rooting for Abby's revenge story but because we didn't, a lot of gamers straight up refused to see or accept Abby's reasons for wanting to kill Joel. Who wouldn't want to get revenge on the man who killed their father?

I was truly gutted that Joel died so early on in the game and it was a difficult scene to watch. However, it is a major plot device that propels Ellie into her revenge rampage in Seattle. I enjoyed the flashback scenes with Joel showing how he had settled down in Jackson County and trying to repair his deteriorating relationship with Ellie after the events of the first game. In Joel's last flashback scene with Ellie they both agree to wanting to move forward, with Ellie prepared to try and forgive Joel. Tragically, by the time this scene is shown, we know that will be the last time they speak.

The game contrasts Abby and Ellie's revenge stories well, showing Abby succeed but not stopping the pain of losing her father so she focuses her life by helping Lev. Ellie had the chance to be happy; she had a home, Dina and baby JJ but her PTSD and a push from Tommy set her off again. I've seen many comments that Tommy's actions here are completely out of character but at this point he had lost so much - Joel, witnessing Jesse's death, his relationship with Maria, his eye and now left with restricted mobility, so why wouldn't he be hell-bent on revenge? Tommy current state of mind here is similar to where Ellie was after Joel's death.

Ellie had already lost Dina and JJ the moment she left to kill Abby again, so even if she had succeeded she would still be left with nothing afterwards; Ellie breaks the cycle of revenge and the characters have a chance to move on to try and find some happiness. I've seen more comments saying this is out of character for Ellie (just like the early Tommy comments I mentioned) and that she had no problem killing all those people in Seattle, but I believe she was too blinded by revenge to stop and see what was happening and that she was basically doing what Joel did at Salt Lake City Hospital. It's not until she has the chance to finally kill Abby that an image of Joel playing his guitar appears in her head - this is significant because since his death, Ellie had been unable to remember his face (as depicted in Ellie's journal with drawings of Joel's distorted face) but for the first time since then, Joel's face finally appears to her. Ironically, if Ellie had not left Dina and JJ at the farm, Abby would have most likely died at the hands of the Rattlers along with Lev, so in reality Ellie saved their lives.

Upon returning to the empty farm, it is shown that Ellie can no longer play the guitar due to losing some fingers in the final battle with Abby, losing yet another connection she had with Joel. Ellie's greatest fear that she shared with Sam in the first game was to end up alone and her need for revenge saw that come true at the end of this game.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but just because it didn't go how you wanted it to it doesn't make it a bad game. I personally preferred the first instalment but Part 2 decides to take a different route rather than mirroring it's predecessor (not to mention introducing some greatly improved gameplay features), keeping it fresh and further exploring revenge, forgiveness and the consequences of actions in a post apocalyptic world.

I really liked the crafting system (proximity mines!) and I loved weapon upgrades. Even though I platinum this game, I still resent the separation of previous areas by impassable obstacles, that makes you rerun whole sub-chapter if you miss a card somewhere. I liked THE twist but was not happy with it. I really liked the "notes" stories that helps to build the TLOU world. My only issue is that the things that this game does best are the same things as in previous installment, I expected more improvements and innovation in gameplay.

Personally, I believe if the authors chose to write the same revenge-forgiveness story with different characters with Joel and Ellie cameos, the reaction would not be that strong. On the other hand, the story is meant to provoke strong reaction and in this NG succeeded.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I flat out loved this game! Honestly, I think there a couple genuine flaws I'll admit to. The game does tend to drag missions on just barely pass expiration dates sometimes (but usually this is allayed by still having a helluva culmination to the mission waiting for ya!). I also feel that as much as the switch works for me, interspersing the character switches throughout the game might have helped some others better empathize with Abby and feel for her. I still found myself torn between the two characters even as they attempted to murder one another, but I suppose I can see where others are coming from. Now, looking pass that, I pretty much just see gold.
Going back to what I said earlier, I feel a large point of the game was to feel the cycle of revenge from both perspectives, to recognize yourself as Ellie playing almost the villain of the story and that really hit home for me, taking advantage of the growing discomfort the game had been building with Ellie's actions to slam it home by having us walk our killing grounds and interacting with our future victims.
This sympathy got further enforced with Ellie on that farm, unable to cope with Joel's death and move on, allowing us to really feel the life Joel had left Abby with for years.
It used this empathy to ultimately foster a sense of forgiveness towards both this game's protagonists as well as for Joel. So, more so than the goal of revenge, that forgiveness proved to be the thing Ellie needed. Not for Abby, though I think she came as close to it as possible, but for Joel and herself.
Don't worry, I already know how masturbatory this review sounds lol

The design is outstanding. The fighting and shooting mechanics are better than it was in the previous version (a little bit harder which fits for me). The story ending is a little bit computable. I'm sorry but on medium level the AI groups (like scars) are not so clever, probably I'll retry on hard level.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us 2 while flawed is a beautiful, enjoyable game. Do I think it deserves all the praise its getting? Probably not. Does it deserve the hate its getting, definitely not..

The game kills off a major character in the first two hours of the games and it is done in such a ruthless game that some people have had trouble accepting or overlooking. From a narrative standpoint the death makes perfect sense.

Halfway through the game you switch to Abby, Joel's killer, as Naughty Dog attempts to make you understand sympathize with her. While I do understand what they were going for here, i feel like being so secretive about it and having people believe you play the whole game as Ellie angered a lot of fans, many of whom were already unable to accept Joel's death.

The story is one of forgiveness but can't fully be understood until the game is completed, very similar to how the first one was a story of hope that couldn't be fully understood until completed. Now lets get on to the Pros and Cons.

Pros: Beautiful. Very Detailed. Great Game play. In game puzzles were a huge improvement over the first game. Story had some very strong points.

Cons: Sneaky in making you play as Abby. SOME parts of the story fell flat. I wish the story would have done Day 1 Ellie/Day 1 Abby. Then Day 2, 3. This would stop players from feeling forced to play 10+ hours as Abby as i know many hated it.

Therefore, I think I am in a position to write a fair review, seeing as how this game clearly got review-bombed by a bunch of people who never even played it (it had thousands of 0 out of 10 reviews within hours of its launch, when nobody could have possibly finished it). I also played the first one and consider it one of my favourite games ever.

So here is my review of the second game. At first, when I had just completed the game, I thought it was an 8. The gameplay, graphics, and audio are top notch, I don't think anybody who is reasonable can debate that. The animations are some of the best in any game ever, and it ends up making each fight look extremely cinematic. They don't shy away from fully depicting the violence and gore in this game, so when you're engaging in melee combat with your knife, you can see cuts form on your enemies. Shotguns will be able to blow limbs off. It's brutal and the combat is extremely satisfying, but if you're easily disturbed, maybe this game isn't for you. But for those who can handle it, the gameplay will have an incredible tension and atmosphere to it. All the guns feel powerful and the controls are responsive but also feel weighty to match the brutal and heavy tone of the game (e.g., when you sprint, it actually feels like you're running for your life as you feel the thud of each frantic footstep and hear your character panting). And the level design allows for more dynamic combat than its predecessor with its verticality and variety of hiding spots. The additions of tall grass and the ability to crawl under things allow you to slip in and out of stealth anytime, letting you to play your way. New enemy types and guns/craftable items are all fun additions. The puzzles in this game are also a bit better done than the first game. No more annoying raft puzzles, Ellie can swim now. Exploration has also been improved. Artifacts are everywhere for those who are interested in learning more about the game's world, and each room has a unique story to it or some worthwhile loot. The environments themselves look gorgeous, and the set pieces, while kind of sparse, are all intense and memorable. Voice acting is great as usual in a Naughty Dog game and the soundtrack and sound effects (like the clickers' noises) are all really atmospheric and well done. Overall, this game looks and sounds great and the quality of the gameplay is high.

Now on to the controversial piece, the story. I will delve into SPOILERS here so do not continue reading beyond this point if you don't want to see them. But when I first finished the game, again, I thought it was an 8. The game was definitely extremely emotional but at first, I had a similar complaint to many other people - I didn't like Abby as much as I liked Ellie. Ideally, I thought that the game should've made the players feel equally for both characters to maximize the tension as they fight at the end. So I saw a bunch of other people saying perhaps they should have introduced Abby's character early in the game and humanize her to get us to like her, then maybe have her kill Joel later in the game. Because currently, it is pretty difficult to get over our first impressions of her as the woman who killed Joel, even if we can understand that she felt motivated by her own loss. I loved the overall darker tone of this game and the themes of revenge, forgiveness, loss, love, and humanity, but I just thought it was an 8 because I didn't like Abby too much. But as a few days passed, the more I think about it, the more I actually like the story better this way. I realized we aren't necessarily supposed to like Abby, but the point is that when she first kills Joel, we don't see her as a human being. We see her as a monster and just want revenge, just like Ellie. Our emotions throughout the story mirror Ellie's emotions. So we are supposed to hate her and be blinded by revenge in the beginning. Then slowly, as the game progresses, we learn about Abby's motivations and backstory. And while we don't necessarily have to like her, we at least see her as a human stuck in a terrible post-apocalyptic environment just like everyone else, trying to survive and hold on to the people they care about. There are no entirely good or bad characters here, including Joel and Ellie. Everyone has killed and done horrible things in this story. There are shades of grey, not black and white morality. And eventually, we have to learn to let go of our hate to move on and live freely. That message is super powerful, and I think it was delivered spectacularly. Now the only minor complaint I have is I definitely think some side characters could have been developed more, but as a whole, this game is much more ambitious than the first. They took risks with the story and the quality of the gameplay is superb. 9/10
