    it's freaking sick because the story is a simple revenge story & Joel's death was like you are watching a dog who is dying oh no sry a death of the horse of Arthur Morgan oon red dead 2 at the end was way better so my heart is broken cause the story of the part 1 was amazing but that that is trash

    So this is what makes a good game now? Seeing the flip side of things? When I play Spiderman Im not thinking about the criminal thats robbing for his daughter, Im Spiderman. Now with TLOU, I play it because Im more interested in Joel and Ellie, always was, thought they were Father and Daughter just surviving yet I got told a fun story and had an awesome time.     Whoever played the first The Last of Us knows that the story of the game was completely thrown in the trash in 2, also for the sake of sealing on EXTREMELY irrelevant subjects in a post-apocalyptic world. The game came out of a story of action, survival and suspense to become a game of social agendas, revenge and the like.

    Several fans have waited for the continuation since the first game's release, looking forward to Joel's story, Ellie's development and their father-daughter relationship. So don't try to shove me down my throat because the reason they don't like the game is because the "main" character (Ellie) is a strong woman, "outside the box" and not sexualized. We all knew about Ellie's sexual orientation and it was never a negative issue or a complaint.

    * And here begins the spoilers: *
    The **** already starts for them killing the MOST IMPORTANT character in the franchise, because yes, Ellie is very important, Joel's brother, sister-in-law, fireflies and all the other characters were VERY important, but not as much as Joel, precisely because we (fans) have an immense connection with the character from the beginning, when we are forced to guide a story where Joel sees his own daughter die and becomes a bitter crown. Yes, he "had" to die, but ..

    After you spend incredible moments of emotional attachment with a character, they just throw you an anonymous you've never seen in the game and force you to play with her to kill that same character that you created an incredible and loving bond with, again, DICK IN YOUR CU naughtydog!

    The personality of Joel that we met in the first game was totally ridiculed, he was someone who didn’t say the name to strangers and was suspicious of his own shadow to a man who enters a stranger’s home and still says "it seems like a good idea" .
    The fact that he is not a long-playable character and that his death is not controlled by the player is another ridiculous thing to see.

    Ellie treats Joel's death as "I'm going to kill her in memory of Joel". I honestly didn't feel that she really felt angry, not like Joel who was almost blinded by hatred / sadness when his daughter died and when they take Ellie to the hospital. They could have worked on it MUCH better and more elaborately.

    And after that, the game rolls for revenge. It is revenge for killing Joel, revenge for killing an alleged scientist father who nobody knew about and much less cared about, it’s a gay sex scene, it’s that **** appeal of “I don’t want to talk to that prejudiced person”. Ellie, who was that strong child / pre-teen and who literally SAVED Joel's life in the first game, turns a **** revolutionary (avengers) IN A POST-APOCALYPTIC WORLD.

    It is worth making it clear that the game itself is not bad, the story it is. Good graphics, good gameplay, good character development, but for a continuation of such a rewarded and expected game, yes, I expected something better    … Expand

Me he topado con cientos de bugs, una jugabilidad calcada del 1 pero con navaja en vez de puñetazos y un botón para esquivar, lo cual incluso lo hace muchísimo más fácil. Los **** ya no te infunden temor si ni siquiera te pueden tocar si pulsas L1 como un descosido todo el tiempo. La historia es muy pobre,con clichés y escenas que le hacen más mal que bien. Escenas fuera de lugar e incomodas a más no poder. En este juego no puedes identificarte con el personaje, es muy estúpida su actitud. Ellie en ningún momento parece una adulta como así debería actuar. Parece como si tuviera 13 años, siendo muy irresponsable, provocando la muerte de Joel e incluso cuándo ya tiene su venganza, se le pasa la rabieta y vuelve con dos de sus seres queridos muertos y otros dos heridos.… Expand

    0/10. Characters we loved from the first game are trashed on, literally the game spits in the face on one of them. Identity politics forced down our throats the rest of the game. Clearly got the Last Jedi treatment, the graphics is the only thing good about this game. Story is trash, making me play and try to understand the perspective of people I don’t care for in the game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. posting this bc i heard devs and cast were saying the bad reviews were "all trolls and bots". never posted a game review before but i felt compelled to try and maybe save other ppl from this miserable experience from ab halfway thru the game; seeing them try to delegitimize ppls reaction to this peice of **** just cinched it for me. i am not a bot, and i sure af am not trolling here. 6,000 characters are nowhere near enough to get into this crock of **** this couldve been literally the greatest narrative game of all time imho, and they rui suffice to say this is the biggest disappointment, failure and audience insult ive ever seen - they took something (the first TLOU) profound, beautiful, emotionally powerful, tragic, and compelling, then instead of continuing it, they spit on it, made it completely meaningless and irrelevant. this was supposed to be ellie's story, in the way that TLOU was Joels story - the deceptive-ass marketing sure made you believe it. what we got instead was half a game about ellie that in the end makes itself as worthless and meaningless as it did the first game, and half a game about a this stupid quarter collecting female steroid abuser that NO ONE GIVES A **** ABOUT. i ****ing hate abby -- i could not care less ab her, her life, her friends, problems, her daddy getting killed by joel etc - boo ****ing hoo. he shouldve killed that stupid **** too and saved us all this **** 2nd half. the only enjoyment i got out of her section was the numerous times i let her get clicker-ed, or sledge hammered; i mustve let ellie kill her 15 times in the theatre - which was good bc it sure af doesnt happen in the game.

    This game is full of bigot sandwiches. Nobody want that. Game looks good, for what they want you to see. Super linear, boring story, ugly characters making decisions that don't make sense. And a really awkward rape/love sex scene that isn't appropriate for children. Sony is ok with that though.

    I rate it 0 because the fact that a game with an old gameplay (almost identical to the one from the first « The last of us » wich ca on PS3) get perfect reviews because (and it has been proved) video games websites didn’t want to lose their access from Sony makes me sick. It’s funny how the critics are unanimous but players don’t like it at all. The story is absolutely terrible. Sure, the graphics are wonderful and the music is great, but the scenario is literally crap. For me tlou story ended in the first game. Imagine if naughty dog make tlou3 xD it would be the story of abby and lev lol. Just don't make part 3.

    Pretty much disappointed, the only good thing about this game is the insanely good Graphics and the gameplay is quite fun.

    This game gets a 0 from me. Not because the gameplay or scenary is bad - in fact it is really good - it gets a 0 because they sold this hot garbage on false advertisment and fed into false expectations of a continuation of the first part deliberately. I don't know if such deception counts as fraud, but it should definitely count as false advertisment and I hope a lawsuit will emerge from this.
    (to clarify what i mean - they altered cutscenes in the trailer in a deliberate attempt to mask veeery important plotpoints that might have influenced your choice of buying - and the lead designer deliberately lied about the playable characters - or rather who you have to play as)

    This is GOT Season 8, Star Wars Episode 7-9 or Terminator Dark Fate all over. Deconstruction of what you love, spitting in the face of fans, subverting expectations for the lulz no matter how non-sensical and contrived it has to be for that, no matter how much out of character - even if its a 180 on previous behaviours.

    I repeat, do not get fooled by the professional reviewers - their jobs and future access to games for reviews depend on high ratings - they won't tell you the truth about this game. It's a hot steaming dump right into your lap.    … Expand

The graphics are fine, and the game play is ok (nothing was wildly different from the first one), but the story just really drags this game down and makes it completely not fun to play. Characters go against established traits (Joel giving his real name to strangers... LMAO) and it took a lot to just finish it. (also with no pay off at the end).

    Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting the game to be all sunshine and rainbows, but to turn this into a simple revenge plot with no revenge payoff in the end just really doesn't sit well with me. Ellie was so angry and revenge-driven, the fact she didn't kill Abby in the end is just f'ing ridiculous. She has no problem killing EVERYONE else without batting an eye, but she stops at the main person who killed the closest person to her... OK game.    … Expand

Joel was treated like a random NPC the way he got killed and then spat on, was very disrespectful after all that had happened in the first game. Felt like the manner in which he got killed and spat on was purposely a slap in the face for us, as if to say "forget this garbage and let's focus on a political agenda now". Especially because it was done so early in the game too. Worst part is, it was advertised in trailers as if joel would have some good focus in this sequal, and it's obvious they did that incase people found out joel gets treated like **** and then not buy the game. Not against main characters dying either but it's the way in which they die that needs to be carefully crafted. Red dead series is a very good example. Joel's death was lazy writing to focus on an agenda. Don't think I need to say anymore. Not against any form of group or community but these days it feels like developers of games and movies alike are forcefully making these decisions when it simply doesn't fit into the narrative it just feels out of place. They're are so many ways to make everyone feel involved without sacrificing the story. Mass effect series, dragon age and even assassins creed odyssey are all prime examples. The options are there for the player to choose but it does not sacrifice story or feel forced.… Expand

They crapped all over Joel’s character, and THEN DOESN’T EVEN LET YOU KILL THE STUPID, overdeveloped surgeon NPC characters kid that did it. Don’t know who wrote this, but they must have a set agenda as it is painstakingly obvious as well the more you play. They make you play as the villain for a stupid amount of time, and (S)he has a sex scene which made me want to vomit. A lot of the interactions are awkward as hell as well. Now that I am past the bad, here’s the good. The gameplay is beautiful,and detailed. The animations are smooth and work well almost all the time. The combat system is good, but a tad wonky sometimes, and Dina is apparently fully invisible to enemies. So yeah, that’s my review.… Expand

    Its a bummer to see Joel die as he was the main character in lou1 and I feel like nowadays games feel the need to make people gay or lesbian and it feels so forced and the gameplay just honestly sucks the need for supplies is low it’s not an overall experience, the ai for the companions always get in the way push you out of cover and get you killed ect

They could have made an incredible game if they considered what the fans would enjoy but instead it seems that the writers just wanted to be edgy and political. I hope naughty dog doesn't make this mistake again or it will ruin them.

    First off i have actually played the game. I am basing my rating on this being the sequel to one of the best games ever, and it's not terrible but it's not..... good. The game play is excellent but seriously it should be. The story and the characters are just awful. Just. Awful. I gave the game the benefit of the doubt and played it but i wish i hadn't. Finally - this game is NOTFirst off i have actually played the game. I am basing my rating on this being the sequel to one of the best games ever, and it's not terrible but it's not..... good.     A great game must be completely ruined by political agendas. I was completely turned off through the entire game by the almost constant portrayal of Ellie as a lesbian with her girlfriend.

    Ruined what the first game had going. Characters are dry and 2 dimensional. Joel died to early like they were just trying to get rid of him for plot convenience if you could call that a plot. I'm just gonna pretend ellie was sacrificed for the cure in the first game and that be the end of it.

    Garbage agenda plugged into a mediocre story. Switched from Xbox to PS4 because of how incredible the first game was. But Naughty Dog has shown they are more into appearing "woke" then making a decent game. Damn shame! Back to Xbox for me.
