Something I doubt a lot of the good/bad reviews have in common based on the nothing information they provide. First, the death. Yes, it sucked. Yes, I think Joel's story deserved a better ending, but that's. not. life. This game doesn't pull its punches about life. It's messy. Be it the kissing comment by Saul or Seth. The sleeping with a guy who's wife is about to have his kid. To the whole epilogue! Second, gameplay solid. If you liked the first the second is better. Third, graphics great. I loved all the cut scenes. I don't get people's anger over A) a game B) one that was great. That's my two cents.… Expand

The gameplay is one of the best games i ever seen, the graphic amazing and the sound track was great but that doesn't change the fact that the storyline is a complete failure to me it was trash. The way they killed joel it was disrespectful he deserved better there is no Last of Us without Joel or Ellie they made him look stupid Joel in the first place he will never put himself in that position to be capture like that and to give Abby some important information about who he was and where they live. The story doesn't make sense the plot doesn't make sense throughout the game your trying to get revenge for the death of joel but in the end you dont getting ellie end up losing everything so the game is unsatisfying. And the worst part about it is that they make you play as a Abby throughout the game yes you play as the person who killed joel. the game feels like they're forcing you to feel bad or has sympathy for Abby which it doesn't work. I really don't understand what was the message of the game in my opinion this game is a 4 out of 10 5 out of 10 at most. the fans deserve a more fulfilling story a more satisfying one we've been waiting seven years for this game and is what we get. I believe they have disrespected the fan base so so much they need to make this right for the fans.… Expand

    The "revenge is bad" angle doesn't even work with this game because the person who gets revenge gets to walk away with a loved one, whereas the person who gives up on it loses everything.
    This game makes gaming look **** :)

    If you are a fan of the original, do yourself a favor and pretend that this sequel doesn't exist.    Disappointing in almost every way.     The game is boring. The writing is terrible and lazy. This is the videogame equivalent of a shart. I don't mind all the LGBT themes. The first game had a DLC which included those themes but was not terrible like this sequel.

    As far as I'm concerned Part II is not canon.

En pocas palabras se pasaron los sentimientos y el desarrollo del primero juego por los huevos y metieron a un personaje oculto, no anunciaron a este personaje llamado "Abby", nos hicieron creer que las aventuras de Joel y Ellie seguirían en esta entrega pero no, mataron al personaje de Joel de la manera más forzada posible, que guión más basura, mi abuela que nunca ha jugado un juego escribe algo mejor, lo peor de todo es que al personaje oculto nos lo hacen jugar más de 10 horas de gameplay, a quien le va a gustar jugar con el personaje que mató al personaje más querido de la entrega, a que él era la comunidad, la razón por la que la gente jugaba TLOU, no era Ellie y Naughty Dog lo sabía y se lo pasó por los huevos, o peor es que después de la muerte uno piensa que la historia sería venganza y venganza por todos lados pero parece más un drama amoroso entre Dina y Ellie, como que si Joel dejode existir en el juego, ya sin más detalles, este juego es aburridisimo, eso es lo que más duele, puede tener unos graficos y estar bien hecho pero el guión y el desarrollo de los personajes desacredita demasiado el juego.… Expand

Yes there are some pacing problems, but if you actually play past where Joel gets killed you will find an incredible game with a deep character study about revenge and what that does to a person. Did we really believe we would get a happily ever after story with Joel after he effectively ends the world's last chance at beating the zombies effectively? We have known Ellie is a lesbian for some time, get over it. Yes a main character is trans, but its woven into the story in a meaningful way. Sometimes art offends the viewer, and this is a case of that. But just because you may not like what the story is because it doesn't align with your head cannon is does not mean its garbage. 9/10 because the pacing is frustrating.… Expand

It's gross and a slap in the face of fans and newcomers. Plotholes everywhere and broken horseback riding system that glitches everytime. Then it got worse when they decided to make TLOU basically just an LGBTQ game    Naughty Dog used to be great. I've loved the Uncharted series, Jak and Daxter, and the original TLOU. Seriously, they were amazing.

    And now Heel F**kman has ruined them. It started when he fired Amy Hennig who was the best writer they had and wrote the story for the Uncharted games as well as the first TLOU. Then it got worse when they decided to make TLOU basically just an LGBTQ game with the message "Violence is bad" but forgot to actually put the story and game into the game itself.

    I want to deflect any idiots who would say I'm being homophobic or transphobic. I'm a pansexual trans woman. And it seems the only reason the Naughty Dog zombies can accept for people disliking this game is that they're homophobic/transphobic. Sorry, there's a ton of LGBTQ members who hate this game and would rather not be represented by it.

    The tone is boring and slow. It's not even like comically bad, it's just nothing. In the first 5 hours of gameplay I got to play actual combat maybe 2 or 3 times. Maybe a total of like 30 minutes of combat in 5 hours of gameplay. By 5 hours into the original game you were already in Bill's town for comparison, avoiding his traps and exploring this urban area crawling with runners and clickers.

    And now let's talk about the writing. You can feel Amy Hennig's absence. Ellie is nothing like the old Ellie. I could understand her character changing as she grows older but she lived in a safe environment for years with a normal life. She shouldn't be *MORE* jaded and quiet because of that. She should be more of the goofball she was in the first game. Instead all personality is sucked from her and she's just a blank nothing. I also couldn't tell you a god damn thing about Dina besides she hates coffee and likes weed. No personality what-so-ever. Critikal talked about this in depth and mentioned that there were only 2 characters he actually found interesting and well written in the entire game and I'm inclined to agree. The worst part is it's not any of the playable characters or any of the people that travel with them. So that means 90% of your time playing the game you're just seeing a bunch of cardboard cutouts of what should be interesting characters.

    There are also constant loopholes and the game constantly contradicts its own rules and the rules of the world that have been laid out since TLOU1. I won't explain them in detail because that would be a spoiler, but let's just say that the rules for the infected seem to only matter when Neil thinks they should matter and no other time.

    Graphically it's gorgeous, no duh. It's the end of the ps4's life cycle we're coming up on. If they hadn't figured out graphics by this point I'd be embarrassed for them. But graphics do not a good game make. And that has never been more obvious than TLOU2 which is gorgeous and completely devoid of actual quality in other departments.

    Do I think this game is actualy a 0? No, but some of you people out there have forgotten what this site is for and have even said in your reviews you're only rating it 10 because people are rating it 0. Fine, if that's what you want this to devolve into binary 0's and 10's then I guess I can play that game too. In my mind this game is more of a 5.5 or something. A compete disappointment compared to the original, to be sure, but if it wasn't so pretentious and if Heel **** hadn't been even more pretentious by telling the player how to feel instead of letting us just experience it first and if it didn't have TLOU's name slapped on it and its shoes to fill this would've probably not been so bad.

    TLOU 1 did not need a sequel. The story was wrapped up and ended perfectly. The prequel DLC shed some interesting light on Ellie and that was that. Any sequels should've definitely been completely unrelated stories in other parts of the post apocalypse. Instead they dragged this game's name (and their own) through the mud and ruined both.

    Now let's talk about the worst part. Crunch. This game and its higher ups support employee abuse and are not ashamed to admit it. Heel F**kman even goes so far as to put a villain card of himself in the game trying to justify his actions as pushing the human body to its limits to achieve greatness. No Neil, you're abusing people. You're disgusting and so is everyone else in your company who supports employee abuse. And that's what it is. I'm not calling it Crunch anymore except to clarify what I'm talking about because it's Employee Abuse plain and simple.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While visually this game is undoubtedly stunning to look at, It also feels undoubtedly forced narrative wise. For an example the game uses pregnancy for shock no less than 3 times throughout the experience and a lot of the decisions the pre established characters from the first game make feel unnecessarily off character. And I say its unnecessary because characters in my opinion are allowed to brake their mold because humans are unpredictable in nature but there is a certain respect you must have for characters especially when killing a character like Joel who is known to be extremely tough to kill, I don't even care why he was killed, but that the set up to how he was killed does not seem believable given what we have seen of him before this moment. The game still offers slight moments of what the first game brought to the table but with all that, The enemy ai being extremely poor and the gameplay quickly feeling stale. I can't help but regrettably give this a zero as the final product feels like a beautifully rushed mess with an uttermost disregard for the story laid before it.… Expand

    Joel is the best TLOU character and the one who made the game successful. is the most human and her decision is the decision we would all have made. I'm sick of reading that Joel has "condemned the world." Oh God, who are you condemning? Those psychopaths who were going to experiment with Ellie to open their heads and lie about the cure? There was no cure!
    In the game, through memories and Ellie's perspective they try to tell you that Joel was selfish and mean, which is a complete madness of the creatives. In addition to constantly seeing Ellie get angry with Joel without having the slightest meaning. You were going to be a monkey on an experiment table, there was no cure! What's the intention here? Because let me say no. I repeat: there was no cure. They make it clear to you in the files you find in the O.R. So I understand they're staining Joel's legacy, because whoever makes the difference, it's not Ellie, it's Joel

    By far the idea of forcing the player to drive abby after what he did is crazy. You've reduced TLOU's legacy to Kill Bill+shock with Netflix kisses. The backbone of pandemic, the cure and the themes of desolation, mistrust, Ellie's impulsiveness against Joel's cold distrust has disappeared, as well as the cheap way to conspire against a character who already has a life and study made to make us believe that he would be killed in such a stupid situation: "Hello, my name is Joel" "because we kill you". Joel has killer instinct, before anyone goes after him smells like miles, he would never show up or trust to break into the house of such a group of strangers. And they don't know his face either, are they killing everyone named Joel? How many Joel will there be in the world of tlou? It's by far rocky, screenwriter's whim. There are a series of crazy situations going to smoke bulls in a lost house in the middle of nowhere and a blizzard in the venia and just after they show joel's murder. I don't know what the hell's happened to Neil these years, but I don't recognize the characters, this isn't a good job. It's their game, they did, that they do whatever they want with that story but the consumer is the one who pays and has every right to criticize him for what it is, because in the end there is no VENGANZA. Ellie initiates a hunt against 1000,567,890 and a million innocent people to find her father's torturer who is a psychopath, and in the end she regrets the stupid, unworthy message that "revenge gets nothing" He couldn't think of it before killing all those thousand people? And Ellie would really regret if Ellie in the original game didn't hesitate to blow anyone's head off. The Ellie I know would not have hesitated to murder Abby's PSYCHOpath who killed her father. So the idea at that point is not only wrong, it invalidates the whole game. In order to make a successful product and be a good content creator, you must find a balance between satisfying your fans and making something in your vision. Too much pandering is bad, but so is not listening to your consumers and dismissing their complaints. Naughty Dog didn't find a balance here. Delivering repetitive, sloggy gameplay, with a story thats needlessly edgy without depth like some thirteen year old girl's rabid fanfiction. Shock value isn't always going to work, it's a cheap circus trick at best and your consumers in a field like the video game industry always have a higher standard than that. I'm being honest here and saying I love the graphics, but as a gamer I hate the plot so much that it ruined the whole experience for me and I canr even return the game. Overall, save yourself 60$ and watch a youtuber play. Naughty dog, you guys did a terrible job and you act like you made an amazing game the fanbase will love, we do not love it, we hate it.

From there, the story only goes down hill as you take the role of Abby who is the character who killed him. The Last of Us 2 tries so hard to make the player like Abby and her crew, but it just doesn't work. From start to end, this game is a bore fest that drags on too long with characters that are just terrible to be around.     The continuation story unfolds five years after the finale of the first part. Players control Ellie and set off to explore post-apocalyptic Seattle. This game is an action adventure, more like a thriller with elements of survival.

    Players are very fond of the two main characters of the game - Joel and Ellie. But in the first half of the sequel, Joel is brutally murdered by Abby, the daughter of a surgeon who planned to create a cure for a disease that destroyed the whole world. The game pointlessly kills off Joel, the iconic hero and protagonist of the series, very early in the game, in a manner completely inconsistent with Joel's character. Appallingly, the game later forces you to play as his murderer, Abby, for almost half the game. Abby is an evil, sadistic monster who savors the prospect of slitting the throat of an innocent pregnant woman, and who also took immense pleasure in torturing and slaughtering Joel, after he was forced to kill Abby's father to prevent him from murdering innocent Ellie at the end of the first game. As if that wasn’t awful enough, at the end of the game Ellie is about to kill Abby to get justice for Joel, but then inexplicably lets Abby go for no reason - even after Abby bites off two of Ellie's fingers. Could of gone other ways for an ending and a plot but clearly who ever wrote the script was probably drunk and had no real feelings towards their fans!
