    Graphics are great animations, music, etc but the story oh boy the story is literally your typical mediocre hollywood movie and the writers are trying so hard to surprise you and make you see the perspective of characters that you wouldn’t like for even 1 second. To me this is one of the worst games this generation (story-wise) sony needs to fire some people from naughty dog lmao

    Gameplay:
    Same as the first, barely any noticeable improvements.

    Visuals:
    Looks good, but so do most modern Tripple A titles.

    Sound:
    Soundtrack could be powerful and emotional, but the story is so hollow and vapid that nothing hits.

    Characters:
    Utter garbanzo beans. Ellie has become a spiteful, cynical brat who becomes boring as hell when she isn't cursing her mouth off. She has no chemistry with any follower, not even her supposed love interest Dina. The flashback to the Museum with Joel was especially insulting, as we are explicitly reminded of how great their (Joel and Ellie) chemistry was. Abby is a disgusting homunculus of a woman, just as angry and vengeful as Ellie, except without a prior game of experience and character building to justify ever supporting her.

    Story:
    Trash. Stereotypical revenge plot that hinges entirely on the coincidence of Joel telling some stranger his name. In such a dog-eat-dog world, AND ESPECIALLY considering his actions in the last game, Joel should have a damn lock on his lips. But no, he just blurts it out to a team of strangers. Abby's portion of the game is honestly irrelevant, not even having her own game would justify her caving Joel's skull in and curb-stomping Ellie. Abby's section is simply there to pad out the game length.

    Oh yeah and there were zombies I think.

    Summary:
    Its very clear this game was made to destroy the legacy of the last game. Killing Joel so unceremoniously, absolutely ZERO insight into the infection, lack of good character dynamics and chemistry. This game is devoid of everything we liked about the first game. Granted, the game likely traded hands over the years, followed by Cukman's shameless simping for Anita Sarkisikunt, I honestly don't think this game could've come out any other way.    … Expand

Too much sexual minority. Little bit of sexual minority is OK, but there are too much sexual minority might have to call sexual majority.     **** devs killed this game.. First 2hrs into the game and **** hits the fan. This might actually get a unique award.. Best Disappointment of the Year. Don't buy this. Wait for Ghost of Tsushima instead

    If the nostalgia of the previous game motivated you to play this game, you will be disappointed playing this one. The developers did a good job forcing and allowing their consumers to suffer. You are warned, there is no fun playing this game after a couple of hours.

    The only thing that pulls out the game is Joel, you are already familiar with him from the 1st part and are imbued with this hero. The rest of the game are just pieces of texture, not a soul, not a story. Everything that causes emotions in this game is taken from the 1st part. The very thing is complete ****

I blame Naughty Dog for not knowing how to make a good sequel in the first place. This game should just be left out and go extinct instead.     Don't let people who claim this is being "bombed by racist bigoted trolls" because it isn't. This game took a well written story and took a massive crap all over it and its well written characters just to force some political agenda.     A disgrace to the main characters. They totaly disregarded the first game and our attachement to the main character, Joe deserved so much better than what he got. Really sad and extremely dissaponting.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is literally 2 - 3 hours long at most. It honestly makes no sense to allow Ellie and Tommy to live when they know exactly who killed Joel. Literally everything after this point should be considered fantasy because if I was Abby I would have killed both Tommy and Ellie after killing Joel and thus left no witnesses to what occurred.

    This is some of the most god awful fanfic garbage. I didn’t particularly care for the ending of the first game but it was clear they wanted to do some sort of generational thing with Ellie becoming the new playable character in the second game especially when you take into account the DLC of the first game pushing that agenda.

    The start of 2 was solid up until Joel’s death. The game was over at that point. They honestly should have made this a game fleshing out Ellie’s growing up and attempting to come to terms with what Joel did in the first game, the ending would be when Abby kills not just Joel but also Ellie and Tommy. You shouldn’t even know who killed him to be honest.

    Then as a dlc or as a pre-sequel game they could then explore Abbey’s story starting immediately following the end of part 1 and leading up to killing Joel. The player wouldn’t know what is going on until the moment of truth when she kills Joel, Tommy and Ellie.

    There were any number of ways to handle this and ND chose one of the worst ones. “Critics” are saying users are review bombing the game but lets be real here, we didn’t get the game for free, we don’t receive review copies of games and WE SURE AS **** DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BEING BLACK BALLED BY TRASH COMPANIES MAD ABOUT A REVIEW WORSE THAN A 7.5.

    ANY CRITIC THAT GAVE THIS GAME HIGHER THAN A 6 IS EITHER A SELLOUT OR SMOKING CRACK!    … Expand

    The salvation of a loved one is something, that we can feel, understand, and we would do the same. Joel’s action at the end of the first game was not good or right, but we would do the same. The end of the first game was great, so why continue?

    They destroyed everything. They abused what was dear to us. They did it dirty, stupid, not logical, cheap and sterile. So stupid that I have no words. They destroyed the very essence of the characters. Deprived them of themselves. They took what they undeservedly inherited from the glory of the first game and created a terrible homunculus out of stupidity, hatred and illogicality.

    There were so many opportunities and ideas, so much could have been done in these seven years. But they did the worst imaginable. They created a stupid and empty character, a girl with a bodybuilder body (yes, there is no post-apocalypse around, and everyone has their own gym and a huge number of proteins, proteins and carbohydrates), and gave her the power to create the fate of our favorite characters. It causes the players only one desire - turn off the game and no longer play it. Forgetting her like a nightmare.

    The mere desire to fulfill revenge gave strength to overcome this stupid game, but even this will not be given to us. They were supposed to give players the right to choose at the end of the game, but what I’m talking about... "Give us your money, take this bad fan fiction, and swallow the dirt with tears in your eyes, homophobes!" But what does homophobia have to do with it? This is not the problem with this game! This whole game is one big problem. Neil **** is a problem. And I hope, that soon as many people as possible will understand this and realize how cruelly deceived all of us are.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Would have rather had a game set 2 years earlier as shown in the flashback where Ellie learns that she could have made a cure if not for Joel. Joel's death was terrible. He should have died saving Ellie one more time. Worst yet his death makes you feel like no character's safe but by the end, they literally won't kill any main character. It makes no sense that Abby wouldn't kill Ellie after she was done bashing Dina's skull in. It's not like Ellie was pregnant so there was no reason to spare her by Lev's sympathy and Ellie was the one who killed her friends in the first place. Equally, it makes no sense that Ellie spares Abby at the beach. She left her girlfriend/baby and traveled across the country for nothing. I don't know how anyone can give this cesspool a 10/10.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
