    It's a beautiful game. The masterpiece in gaming. Graphics, story, attention to details all in the highest level.
    The only thing I can complain about - sometimes gaming rythm slows down significantly which can influence overall impression about the gameplay.

    Best graphic on the PS4 atm. Gameplay has been upgraded from the first game. Story reflects on how people are so fragile, how confuse human can be and what cost would you take for a revenge.

Me parece que este juego está recibiendo demasiadas críticas por diversos motivos, pero bajo mi punto de vista, la gente solo está valorando la historia y los sucesos que se encuentran en ella. Por ejemplo, hubo gente que no le gustó que se pudiese manejar a Abby y a otra gente no le pareció mal esto es por el cariño que todos le teníamos a Joel. Pero a pesar de todo, mi opinión sobre este maravilloso juego es un 9 por los motivos que detallaré a continuación: - Los gráficos son espectaculares y no he visto otro juego con tan buenos gráficos (ya se que hay juegos que tiene muy buenos gráficos pero este también los tiene) en ese aspecto le daría un 10
    - En cuanto a la historia, yo creo que no deberían de haber matado a Joel, si le querían haber hecho daño, podrían haberlo raptado a el y a Dina por ejemplo y poder haber jugado con Ellie para ver sus historias desde esos dos puntos de vista, pero haber matado a Joel y sobretodo al principio no me pareció la mejor decisión ya que es demasiado impactante para el jugador. En cuanto a las historia le pongo un 8 ya que las intenciones eran buenas a mi parecer.
    - En cuanto a los sentimientos que te produce el juego pueden llegar a ser muy confusos, desde que tengas esa sed de venganza que tiene Ellie tras la muerte de Joel, hasta sentir que Abby solo estaba intentando defenderse en mundo destruido de The Last Of Us, hasta ver que Ellie solo quiere matar a Abby debido a que está cegada por la venganza. Hay muchos tipos de sentimientos que te puede causar este juego, puede que te sientas identificado solo con Ellie, solo con Abby, o con las dos y sientas esa confusión de no saber que es lo correcto y que no lo es. Eso concretamente me pasó a mi con este juego, hasta que llegas a la conclusión de que en The Last Of Us es un mundo en el que nadie es bueno ni nadie es malo, solo intentan sobrevivir con lo que cada uno tiene. Ya que este juego se basa prácticamente en venganza y estar en ese ambiente de angustia por la muerte de seres queridos, en cuento a los sentimientos que transmite este juego le pongo un 9.

    Estos 3 puntos son los que me han llevado a tomar la decisión de poner un 9 de nota a este juego. Mucha gente no estará de acuerdo conmigo en las decisiones ya que se pueden sacar muchas conclusiones de este juego, a si que pueden opinar lo que quieran. Espero que les halla servido leer esto para aclarar el juego a mucha gente. Y bajo mi recomendación, le diría a la gente que no ha jugado el juego por las malas opiniones de la gente, que lo juegue, y cuando lo termine, que saque sus propias conclusiones.     The Last Of Us II es un juego bastante complejo, crudo y no es para todo el mundo, mucha gente no lo va a entender, sobretodo viniendo de el primer juego, en el que se presentaba una historia de amor en la que se remarcaba la nobleza de los personajes.     Difficulties that Naughty Dog met during the development are sometimes noticeable in the game, yes. Playing Abby is unexpected and if i played Ellie during the entire game i could have prefered, but please try to be curious and don't be closed excepted for Ellie and Joel. This is my favorite duo and i understand frustation about it, but i really enjoyed the game thanks to a good level design (not everytime but really often) and the capacity to surprise you thanks to a perfect song design and a convincing acting    … Expand

    After playing 20+ hours of the game and avoiding all the leaks, this game surpassed my expectations in a way I didn’t think was possible. The plot is solid and the storytelling is unforgettable. Don’t let all the negative comments scare you away, it seems like people have forgotten what a single player story driven game is. As far as graphics go, I have to give it a 10/10, all lighting andAfter playing 20+ hours of the game and avoiding all the leaks, this game surpassed my expectations in a way I didn’t think was possible.     Graphically the game is very beautiful, it is not a slap either but I clearly do not have to complain about this side. I only encountered one big bug in my 27 hours of play, so the optimization is also there, the game is technically well finished.

    The scenario ... great subject ... it is a completely subjective opinion, I rather appreciated it, I found it coherent but it also did not carry emotionally as I expected. I found the new characters quite bland.

    The big problem for me is above all in the very structure of the game, what we do there is just absolutely not interesting! We advance, we arrive in an area with enemies inside or outside but will ultimately be the same as the previous one, human or infected no matter there is no difference in how to defeat them. It lacks surprises, variations in events.
    Having to shave the walls and furniture to 20 cm to see if we can loot an item or not is simply unbearable, Naughty Dog should have made this more visible.
    The successions of keys on which to press to create ammunition or care are not intuitive and pose problem during fights in difficult mode because the enemy simply does not leave us time to create anything.

    TLOU Part II is for me a good game, pleasant to do, no more no less.    … Expand

This game has made a lot of bold choices that angered a mass majority of The Last of Us fans, I did my absolute best to be as open minded as possible and upon finishing the game I didn't know how to feel, and as a disclaimer I'll say that I'm a HUGE fan of stories focusing on misery and tragedy. I played the first game on release and have held it to a masterpiece level, I came into the sequel with a handful of spoilers and was infuriated with some of the choices made. Though as I played, I couldn't hide my dread for the things I knew were to come.

    Now I must say, I became VERY invested as I played and it's one of the only games in the current generation I didn't have to force myself to finish. I hated Abby to begin with but her reasons became more clear as I progressed, although I couldn't forgive her for killing Joel and was very aggravated when playing as her against Ellie. But I did feel pretty bad for Abby after finding her tortured and hanging on the pillar. Her escaping pissed me right off, but as I thought how she suffered worse than death, Although I wanted Ellie to kill her, I understood why she left.

    Ellie had become very unlikable throughout this game. It was reasonable and believable to her character and situation but how she treated Joel and Tommy seemed very uncalled for. Her decisions to leave Abby alive, brake the promise to Tommy and not tell him she changed her mind, and close out Joel after he came clean and kept his patience. I don't know if I rooted for her because of the history of the first game or because she was the less unpleasant of the two characters. But i was happy she survived and curious where it goes from here.

    I wanted more emotion with the final scene between Joel and Ellie, as I feel the final encounter left a lot to be desired but still had me pretty chocked up how Joel cried and couldn't get out what he wanted to say. A few things lost my emotion, namely how large Abby was and Lev going through a gender transition, more power to them, but I feel during an apocalypse it doesn't seem like something you'd see. a little nit picking but it did cross my mind.

    Overall I didn't want the story to follow what it did, but I was as open minded as I could be and ended up enjoying the game, not as much as the first, but enjoyed it non the less and followed my funny little fetish of a tragic story. You should play it if you were a fan of the first game, but do your best to go in without any hate towards it and don't let all the bad reviews deter you. If you've already played it try not to let the hate train effect your opinion, a lot of things I disliked about this game, but there's not denying it was good. Just a lot of questionable choices.    … Expand

There are no heroes in TLOU, there are only survivors, and because of that this isn't a feel good story...just as the first one wasn't a feel good story (Joel literally lied to Ellie at the end of the first game by telling her the Fireflies couldn't do anything with her immunity).

    Nothing is perfect, but, The Last of Us part 2 has an incredible, deep, and moving story that is a worthy follow up to the original. The gameplay mechanics are a polished version of the first game, giving immediate familiarity, but with an additional layer that makes for a more rewarding experience.

    I've been a fan of linear, story driven games since I can remember. I played TLOU (part 1) about 12 months ago, and it did a damn great job at showing me how invested a game can get you in it's story and characters; But nothing could have prepared me for Part II. Naughty Dog clearly knew that this franchise has a strong emotional grip on it's players, and they utilised that to presentI've been a fan of linear, story driven games since I can remember. I played TLOU (part 1) about 12 months ago, and it did a damn great job at showing me how invested a game can get you in it's story and characters; But nothing could have prepared me for Part II. Naughty Dog clearly knew that this franchise has a strong emotional grip on it's players, and they utilised that to present something so damn refreshing, unique and emotional. I have never experienced such a gripping, emotional journey in a videogame. You can enter this game and let one event ruin your entire experience (an event I personally believed to be totally in line with the tone of the series), or instead, you can accept the direction, and let it take you on this challenging journey. The ups and downs felt so genuine – the writing never feels contrived, and the characters just feel real.

    Sure, it has it's issues as well, which for me sit mostly with occasional gameplay and A.I. hiccups. For example, support character A.I. sometimes gets in the way, or becomes a pain to navigate with. This is something you never dealt with in God of War, for example. Occasionally the character you're playing can feel rigid in its motions, especially when transitioning between different walking surfaces. The same can be said for engaging with the interact prompt when picking things up etc... sometimes you find yourself shuffling around for a few seconds until the damn Triangle button prompt lets you activate it. Also, the interaction with your weapons/crafting menu's can be a bit too step-by-step driven – an example might be when selecting a weapon, and then selecting to reload quickly after – you have to wait for your character's weapon accessing animation to completely finish before you can instruct to reload; It would have been nice to have some more fluidity in this process, and allow speedier instructions, or at least instructions that are tacked on in that instance to play after the character finishes the animation. In the grand scheme of it, though, these things are very quickly overlooked, but do drop the gameplay score a bit as it pulls you out of the game.

    One thing I would like to give an extra mention to, is the audio design. I played this with Extreme Dynamic Range enabled, under Studio Reference. This was on a 2.1 KEF system. This was nothing short of exceptional. The gunshots were jarring, the whistles of the Seraphites in the distance were clear and incredibly well placed, the ambience of the cut-scenes pulled you in. The game has a dark, disorienting bass-driven tone in the darkest scenes of the game, which feels incredible. Each kill felt horrific and impactful, and each major cutscene had such a strong soundstage and tonal mood, that I was genuinely impressed.

    I never review games – honestly, I generally just don't really care. I play a game, I finish it, it was good, sure, it was bad, whatever. This game deserves a genuine review, though. I can't believe how anyone can play this from start to finish and not feel that the emotional cues were expertly placed. I'm a 30 year old dude and it even had me tearing up at the end... i'm so damn impressed. The story didn't go how you wanted it to, and for that I am incredibly glad, because I want to be taken on a unique path.

    For me, this is a solid 9.5/10, which I'm rounding to 10 for Metacritic.

After playing the original Last of Us probably around 10 times through because it’s one of my favorite games of all time I was extremely excited to play part 2. I stayed away from all the leaks and went into the game with very high expectations. I even preordered the special edition and the ps4 pro console edition. After finishing the game I was extremely disappointed. Naughty Dog and Sony deceived me from the trailers. Scenes they provided with every trailer I saw made me believe he was a vital part of the game. However what they did was model swap him and change his appearance from flashbacks. They then decide to kill Joel off and make you play as his killer for half of the game. Playing as Abbey was brutal to play through. There was not a single second playing through her story that I enjoyed. And not one time did I emphasized with her character. Sony and Naughty Dog deliberately kept her out of the trailers and reviews because they knew if the fans found out about playing half of the game as her they would not have bought the game. I am extremely disappointed. I don’t believe I will ever be able to play the game through again. Playing as Abbey was punch in the face to fans.

One of the most captivating games I have ever played. I am perplexed at the negativity this game gets, and essentially boils down to people rating it bad because it didn't go that way. The game is about death, loss, and consequence. If you aren't ready to accept that, and that your favourite character is not and unstoppable superhero, then don't play the game. Everyone was hoping for a new adventure of Joel and Elly. They could have made an Part 2, just Like the First one, everyone is happy. But this is not was everybody wanted. This is not the typical Mainstream sequel. U really need to be Openminded about this Game, U need to get involved with it.
    In the middle of the game, i really wanted to Stop to play at a certain Point. I used to hate the decision they made. But i paused for a day. Let everything sink in. And kept playing.
    And they did a great job, giving a feeling about what consequences it Made for them. When U Walk Into the Aquarium at the end of the Seconds third and see what happend, U really feel Bad for her too. This is a Story about revenge, but more likely about forgiveness like the Sequence with Joel at the end pointed out.
    BUT. U need to let any expectations U had go. U need to Play this without Anger about what happened. A Bit, yea she did horrible things, but in the end she lost more than Ellie. U need to hate her to feel the Game, but U need to forgive her and Play her Plot Like its Ellies.

    And that is what the Game does great for me. U Play that hatred character but U kinda going to understand. The Story would worked Others way around too. For me, this is an emotional rollercoaster, i often didnt knew what the **** to think over what happend. And in the end, If u cant let your hatred go, you loose way more than u already had.

    Technically flawless. This Game is the Jewel of this console Generation. Perfect graphics, great Atmosphere to deliver the right Mood.

    I don't think is a bad game. The problem is that it's called The Last of Us, so I was hopping for a much better story where we could see how characters were going to fully develop their personalities. Instead, they tried to create new characters so that they could justify a couple of nonsense actions. All Ellie parts of game was phenomenal but Abby parts really brought it down plus a stupid ending in which Ellie should’ve killed Abby. Let’s hope Abby isn’t a main character in the third one but they are really setting her up to be. :(. Apart from too much Abby it’s a worthy sequel with phenomenal gameplay, graphics and voice acting.     Naughty Dog absolutely nail the atmosphere, environments and the infected are as terrifying as ever with some interesting new ones thrown into the mix.

    Yes they kill Joel, this was expected! The underhanded way of doing it though really ruins the type of character he was in the first game and they do nothing in the story to really conclude that Joel or tommy would be stupid enough to reveal their names, This left a sour taste in my mouth for much of the remainder of my playthrough as i felt the writing was incredibly lack luster if this was how they chose to off him.

    What followed is a pursuit to kill Abby and cohorts through a gorgeous world with generation defining graphics and some fun gamplay... at first. Whilst the envirnoments and graphics were always great the gameplay became rather boring fast. Something i never noticed in the first one, this mainly falls down to the reduced character building between the ellie and Dina, as compared to Ellie and joel in the first one and this leads to some awfully boring solo sections that do not do well as they are just too long.

    They try to portray the violence as something ellie is having a hard time coming to grips with when you meat one of the friends of abby and smash her face in... however youd already slit at least 200 throats by this point.. so the message just doesnt work.

    Abby was interesting and i did prefer her section but the game forces you to restart the upgrade the mechanic and they do this at a time when the story feels like its at a climax really ruining the momentum of the plot.

    The ending... just awful and dragged out 4 hours too long.

    The story just have some amazing sections, the relationship between Dina and Ellie, the relationship between Abbie and Lev, Abby and Owen are all well told but they just dont linger and these moments long enough.

    As for gamplay sections there were so many that were just top of their class, the section in the subway, the sniper run, the boat run, the island and too many small ones to name, but they are just overshadowed by long drawn out pieces of boredome, usually alone with no back and forth between the characters.

    The game is not bad, by a long shot, but for me the story and gamplay are just not enough to be a great game just a decent one. Id give it a 7.5 out of 10 but it has to be 7 o r8 and i cant justify an 8.    … Expand

    I loved how this story was constantly changing my perspective on things. It went from “what is going on with you Ellie? Give Joel a break” to “go **** them up Ellie” to “I really don’t want either of these characters to die”. By the end, I was struggling to mash the square button to kill Abby, wincing as the animations are playing out. Some parts were hard to watch, but that was the point.

    The level design was outstanding. The attention to detail in each environment was amazing and the set pieces were varied and interesting. The visuals were top notch and the animations were next level. All the intricate facial expressions to the little hand movements, again the attention to detail was insane. Can't wait to see how it runs on the PS5.

    I see a lot of hate towards this game, but as a long time fan I really enjoyed the last of part 2. I see why people are upset and I can even agree with some of the criticism but at the same time I loved seeing all of the lore they put into this game I feel like its a more real world and I'm beyond happy with what they did with this story.

    If you want to play as Joel, go back and play the original Last of Us. It sucks that he died in this one but that is what drives the story. The story is complex and takes more to understand than just what is on the surface. For those complaining about it, stop and use your brain and maybe you will understand. If not, there is always Fortnite kids.

    Retunred to store for refund after 3 hours play, massive fan of TLOU1 and its character arc and lovely charm between Joel and Ellie.

    I almost vomited at the current story line and character arc, looks good but utterly ridiculous shoehorning in identity politics (WHICH WOULD HAVE NO PLACE IN an APOCALYPSE SCENARIO)

    Such a shame for fans of the series, whats next Nathan Drake in drag?

    Better than the first. Took everything from it and improved it. One of the boldest games I’ve ever played. Loved every second. Congrats to Neil and Naughty Dog and everyone else involved on this masterpiece.

This is a good game and most of the negative reviews were made 1-5 hours into the game...you cant trust that when it takes 25 to 30 hours to play through. I'm not at all surprised to see the ridiculous and unwarranted backlash The Last of Us Part II has received after a very long and unsustainable hype campaign. For some inexplicable reason, when it comes to evaluating story, or a video game, many unapologetically hold the unreasonable belief that their petty expectations are somehow gospel - every whim must be satisfied, every desire fulfilled. In fact, these petulant masses have grown so demanding and vociferously critical of change that genuinely valid criticism of the game has been almost completely eclipsed by an embarrassing number of immature/undeveloped/sexist/homophobic/transphobic remarks and sentiments. In this regard they begin to resemble the single-minded and intolerant Seraphites of the actual game who are themselves, morally backwards and terrified of change. They're also very fun to shoot at.

    Ultimately, The Last of Us Part II is not the crowdpleasing sequel certain "fans" expected it to be and for that it has been undeservedly jeered at and spat upon by legions of deluded and entitled people, spouting trolling comments on Twitch streams and Youtube reviews. What none of these people take into account, however, is that (from both a gameplay and storytelling perspective) TLOU2 succeeds in almost every way at delivering a fresh and engrossing survival horror video game about revenge and forgiveness. Above all, the game is committed to taking the player firmly out of their comfort zone (something any good survival horror game should always strive to do); indeed, nothing in this game feels safe, not even (ingenuously) the weapons upgrade menu. A running theme in TLOU2 is the cruel, but absolutely necessary, endangering of what we (and Ellie) take for granted - be it an upgrade menu, the morality of our in-game actions, or Joel Miller himself. As is clear to anyone paying attention, many scathing reviews of this game seem invariably and inescapably concentrated on a particularly traumatising and brutal event in the story's opening hours and it is not altogether impossible to see why. For a considerable period of playtime, my rage and Ellie's rage were one, I was genuinely consumed with hatred (the kind that motivates you to commit virtual suicide over and over again when you are suddenly and unexpectedly forced to play as a character you have grown to despise for what, at first, seems like an inconceivable and inappropriate length of time). But the jarring unpleasantness of Abby's questline is part of the experience; it's not supposed to win the player over at the very beginning. Like any conflict, a more nuanced and balanced understanding of the opposing positions takes time to develop - it takes hours and hours of reflection and contemplation (something Ellie herself achieves at a slower rate than the actual player). Over time, a general disconnect is imposed between us and Ellie - after seeing Abby's capacity for committing selfless deeds and protecting the innocent, we can no longer hold onto that rage which infected us so violently at the beginning of the game. This, of course, does not excuse Abby's actions, but the whole ordeal poses a very pertinent dilemma to the player. Both Ellie and Abby (not to mention Joel) are undoubtedly guilty of having done terrible things but is it not impossible for someone to commit terrible deeds and nonetheless remain a good person? Or are Abby and Ellie beyond the possibility of redemption?

    For certain, TLOU2's skewed morality is a dilemma reinforced in subtle (and not so subtle) ways throughout the game - if it's not the tribal warfare raging across Seattle (itself a conflict obsessively and circuitously preoccupied with who started what and with endless justifications for increasingly violent and extreme acts of retaliation) then it's the tongue-in-cheek trading card collectibles scattered throughout the world which perform the relatable, adolescent urge to "grade" fictional characters on a moral spectrum from "Villain" to "Hero" with even the possibility to include "Neutral" heroes and villains. Where do we place ourselves on such a scale? Especially after we realise we have widowed and orphaned countless members of the WLF?

    The most valid criticism of this game, I feel, is its chronologically chaotic approach to pacing. It's almost conspiratorial to think about how similar Ellie's character model has been taken to resemble Ellen Page when the narrative order of TLOU2 appears to take its cues from Beyond: Two Souls, a title in which Page played the leading role (complete with morally grey dilemmas and sad, wistful acoustic guitar performances). While many are upset with the decision to have Joel savagely beaten to death within the game's opening hours, I can think of no better way to inject this level of raw, emotional conflict and narrative urgency into what could have been a fairly predictable sequel. TLOU2 is more than just a pretty face. There is real depth here to explore.    … Expand

    It was always going to be a tough job to follow up the masterpiece that is the original but once again NaughtyDog have pulled it out of the bag. It's a darker, messier story than it's predecessor but a masterclass in it's own right.

    The game is longer than the original and there are some pacing issues but this isn't severe enough to detract from the experience.     So many user reviews i've read seem to misunderstand the central themes of this game. On the surface it's a simple revenge story, much in the same way that the first game was a simple get from point A to point B story, but like the first game it is elevated by the engrossing character development. Perspective is a central theme here.

    I'd advise anyone reading this to ignore people review bombing this game. It's abundantly clear that said people haven't played enough truly terrible games.    … Expand

    Graficos hermosos, animaciones hermosas, diseño de niveles hermosos , la historia hasta la mitad del juego es muy buena pero el relleno de abby es in jugable, es aburrido y no aporta nada.
    Pudieron abordar a abby de otra forma sin tanto relleno y que al final despues de matar a tanta gente ellie se arrepiente y decide no matar a abby es un insulto a todos los que compraron este juego.

    I don't usually do any of this but this game deserves it.
    This was the best game I have ever played in my life. It was a mixture of emotions, it's like a bomb, you don't know if you're going to laugh, cry, jump in fright, if you're going to scream, anyway.
    Yes, the game is strong. Yes, the game is not for everyone. But I assure you that as soon as you understand the story and message of this game, you will love it as much as I do.
    The last of us part II is a masterpiece. The game starts in a quiet village, with patrols etc. One day jackson has a terrible event. The joel dies in an unbelievable way .. I have not yet overcome his death .. Ellie goes after revenge for his death, goes after whoever killed him. And I love that @naughty_dog_inc is able to get you attached to ellie.
    I cried with her so many times during the game. The naughty dog ​​made me stop the game because I was afraid to kill her (ellie) (whoever played knows what I'm talking about)
    This game makes you feel what the character (be it ellie, be another character) is feeling and this is the best I've ever seen.
    During the game you will be playing with Ellie and Abby, which I didn’t like at first because abby killed joel, but the game managed to show both sides of the story very well, and there are no villains or heroes.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
