    How unfortunate. This is an example of game utterly miscalculating its audience. Nobody wants to be educated on how to think, least of all at the expense of some beloved characters.

    The first Last of Us was a great story telling game, I could even say if some sort of apocalypse like that has happened that would how real life will probably be. The second Last of Us take that "realistic" and experience that a guy would learn after many years of fighting the unknown off. Also the plot twist that's not making any sense at all.

    This sequel does not worth your dollars. Stay off.

    I'm not sure what Naughty Dog were thinking here. Even with the amazing (yet very similar to TLoU1 graphics), they completely let players down. I don't mind the politically correct basis for the characters and their backgrounds, but the writing just destroyed what was left of the story and characters. Unfortunately I think this is the end of this franchise.

    After waiting almost 7 years, this is a huge disappointing...Great animations, lighting, models. but poor / lazy writing. Skip it and don`t waste your money.

    This game has one of the worst stories i have ever seen in my life. It doesn't take much for me to like a game but holy **** **** its so bad. Gameplay its self is just "ok" and thats about it..

    This is a prime example on how not to tell a story here. Joel’s death should have felt way more impactful on how they were trying to do it as well as so many other characters that fall with him but once you get to the end his death is meaningless. This would been an OKAY story if Abby died but it wasn’t. All this was... is throwing your characters into the “ “fire” for what a part 3?!?! NoThis is a prime example on how not to tell a story here. They could have talked about side stories which further explain the tlou world such as Ellie's mun's past, Joel's and Tommy's and the two females' (i.e., Firefly's) past. But they decided to make a cliche revenge story which is not related to the tolu world except the characters.

    They could have given Joel and Tommy common senses that they got from years of dangerous life. But they decided to take away their awareness to dangers. They could have given Joel or Tommy a meaningful death. But they decided to give Joel a pathetic death and make Tommy into a useless naggy middle-aged man. The could have kept the cliche story generic but functional. But they decided to give it deep meaning, meanwhile, failed in writing such a script.

    I want to be very clear about why I'm giving a game with some of the best production i've ever seen a zero. You have to ask yourself why you would do that to a game that has probably the best graphics ever, best cut scenes, amazing art, etc? I've never played anything that feels as contemptful towards it's audience as this.     The worst story ever, in any medium. The Room has a better plot than this. A betrayal to fans and the art of storytelling. It sadly casts a shadow on the game's technical marvels and makes you unable to enjoy them on their own.

    I never wrote a review before because I thought I didn't need to. But when the critics/paid liars start giving 10/10 for bad unfinished revenge story and micro improvements in game mechanics. That really goes too far.
    I loved the TLOU because it had an amazing story and and great ending. However, TLOU2 could had have a great story if a certain character wasn't killed of disrespectfully    I never wrote a review before because I thought I didn't need to.     I loved the TLOU because it had an amazing story and and great ending. However, TLOU2 could had have a great story if a certain character wasn't killed of disrespectfully and really way unnecessary too much plot relating to SJW stuff. Also the ending could have been satisfying if the score was settle just like a certain character who did settle the score to keep someone they love safe.

    Next disappointment is the game mechanics, the only improvement for the player is only the movement capability. TLOU2 still have the same combat mechanics and same stealth gameplay.    … Expand

    И о боже, меня заставил переживать уже 3 трейлер, посмотрев который я начал сомневаться в главных героях (и новых в том числе) и в теме нового сюжета (которая совершенно не соответствует 1 части). Потом 4 трейлер... Я заволновался сильнее. И потом бац, утечка спойлеров, которые я к сожалению увидел. В них не было ничего хорошего. Потом обзоры от отечественных критиков, которые как один обсуждали одну из самых больных тем игровой индустрии, которая возникла в этой игре. И под конец я понял, что тут действително все довольно плохо. Теперь к самой игре: тут все просто ужасно. Один из самых амбициозных эксклюзивов имеет посредственный сюжет, устаревшие игровые механики и нудный, приедающийся геймплей. Даже расхваленная графика местами дает серьезные сбои. Уровни сложности сами себя не оправдывают, ведь если играть не на самом последнем, то вы считай в какую-то другую игру играете. Сюжет с самого начала мне не нравился, но я ждал, может что-то изменится, но нет, ведь в середине игры разработчики ее просто решили уничтожить, заодно похоронив то, что дала нам первая часть. Абсурдность второго персонажа переходит все границы, она ужасна от слова совсем. Ее присутствие в игре никак не вяжется с тем, что для 2 части действительно важно. Я не буду вдаваться в подробности, но плох почти каждый аспект нового сюжета. В конце отдельно хочу упомянуть аномальное количество сильных женщин - ну это абсурд, как их сила и навыки, так и само количество женщин. Так же решили уделить внимание различным меньшинствам, даже не знаю как к этому отнестись, скорее нейтрально, но будто вместо стараний над сюжетом разработчики старались раскрыть тему меньшинств. В общем я полностью разочарован в этой игре, ожидание которой полностью ее не стоило.    … Expand

    Amazing graphics, below sub Par story. I believe some critics have said it themselves the story is a fanfiction mess that destroys the legacy the first game left. Naughty Dog created a beautiful product but destroyed fans love for the series while doing so.

    I have never been this depressed over a video game. The story has been completely butchered. If you enjoyed the story of the original Last of Us, then there is absolutely no way you will enjoy part 2. A few hours into the game comes a point in the story where the game will leave you in absolute disbelief. From this point on I couldn't play any further. I'm getting a refund if I can.

But all those aside, the way the story is written is awful. I have thousands of people who agree with me too. The story is just written so badly and sometimes doesn't make sense. The "scenes" especially are horrendously written, no proper send off to the characters, just bam! death. The game also daila to make me feel as trying to understand abby while playing her. It just doesn't feel right cause you are forced into that one awful path of story. Most importantly, the finale is the most disappointing sequence of events I have experienced in my life. Talk about having a journey and almost fulfilling your mission but just a flashback makes you stop. I really don't get what the developers were doing so bad that didn't capture the mood and charm of the first game. Then suddenly the fight just stopped like nothing ever happened? That's some next level child cartoon cliche ending there. In summary, this by far is one of the worst story-driven game out there, only being carried by the next generation graphics it offered. Always remember that graphics are nothing without a well written story, Naughty Dog.… Expand

    It's a story about deceiving a player.
    It is also annoying that there is a part that forces users to play Abby with the same game quality as the previous one, while LGBT code scratches more and the last scene angers users with the climax of the game.

What makes it worse is the fact that all these big companies that review games for a living are too afraid to upset a tiny minority of people.     Amazing gameplay, nice looking graphics. But with such unsatisfying story line nothing there is enjoyable. After 2 hours of game I did not want to continue it. Just checked the ending on the internet to see if it will get better, but it does not. The game is far beyond recovery and nothing can make it better.

    This story is all about revenge between transgender and lesbian. The whole game is only about playing as new main character (trans) with other new characters. This game feels like different game in TLOU universe. It supposed to be a game with Joel and Ellie, even with Diana but we got like 60-70% of story with Abby.
    And there is a lot of fights against humans but not zombies and this game wasn't even scary. I'm very disappointed. My rate is 2/10 just for graphics but i'll rate 0/10 because why not. Cyberpunk is going to be GOTY of 2020 and i'm pretty sure they won't disappoint me.

    These development teams can't be that out of touch to realise that the intended audience would react the way they have, the first game is a brilliantly crafted story with incredible atmosphere and pacing this story is all over the place with dated repetitive boring gameplay it makes absolutely no sense from beginning to end I struggled to get through it even after completely avoiding spoilers the critics reviews make no sense did they even play it? Were they paid to give it strong reviews? Overall very disappointing I'm gutted to be honest was expecting so much more avoid at all costs or wait until its in the bargain bin. Shame on naughty dog for showing such disregard for its audience hopefully they learn from this and accually start making great games again that real players want to play.    … Expand

The only true last of us is in my favorite games of all time. I was excited up until the first leaks came out. I had a small piece of hope that it would be at least somewhat good as I already expected Joel would probably die in the squeal just not in the way the leaks showed. When I played the game and saw how they made Joel/Tommy go against their characters, by telling these people where they live and their names when they do not know these people at all. The way Abby just kills Joel when at this point the player has no idea who Abby makes her insufferable. All the work they do to try and make her sympathetic does nothing. At the end of the game, I agree with Ellies's decision to still go after Abby cause 'it can't all be for nothing'. It does not make sense that she would almost just let Abby go, she had just killed a man to get information on where Abby is. The ending is inconsistent with Ellie's character, as the entire game she has been killing people to try and get to Abby, and it is stupid she did not just shoot her in the head. Ellie's ending is bad and she does not even get revenge if she had just killed her straight away all that would be different is she would still have 10 fingers. A waste of £160.… Expand

    I just don't like Neil Druckmann and how he thinks that he is so much better than anyone else because of his new-found ideology. He needs to grow up and realize that boasting about being 'woke' is an immature thing to do. Also after hearing about how the people working at Naughty Dog were treated I had to do my part in giving Naughty Dog what they deserved.

    pros:

    - the visuals looks great every detail and everything is just wow

    - sound is top notch from the music to the sound of the zombies

    - voice acting is really good

    -the world building and map design is really up there

    cons ( oh boy here we go)

    - the sheer amount of plot holes is just laughable

    - story writing is trash

    - forgettable characters

    - the way they handled some characters is just ridicules

    - AI is still stupid af

    - ending was a piece of hot garbage

    -antagonist is basically useless and gets away with way to much

    - devs basically destroyed everything they built in the previous game

    as you see this game is divided into two parts gameplay and story the gameplay of this game improved so much and props to them but the story just took a deep nose dive and ruined the whole franchise and because the story is the important part because this is a story based game the game just fails miserably    … Expand

The story can barely progress itself and what were once fluid multifaceted characters are now cheesy 2d machines. I have never before been unable to complete a game, but now is one of those times. I made maybe 5 hours into this game before I decided I needed to take a long break from it indefinitely. One of the major issues I had with this game was the gratuitous sex scenes throughout, and what felt like Naughty Dog putting diversity into a game for sales. This game feels genuinely exploitative towards the LGBT community because it uses multiple LGBT characters as sales points and fan service. If they were to introduce an LGBT character who mas more than a flat character who's entire personality was not based on their sexuality/gender that would be great. I think diversity in games is something that needs to happen, but in this game the characters that are meant to be inclusive are more representative of a cardboard cutout than an actual inclusive character. I would highly dissuade anyone from buying this game if they were a fan of the original last of us. The plot will wear you down and feel nothing like the original game.     TLoU1 is one of my all-time favorite games. I loved the characters of Joel and Ellie. Part 2 spits on everything that makes the first game fantastic and also spits in the faces of fans. Do not buy this game if you have any emotional attachment to part 1 whatsoever.

And that's just what this terrible director does to the fans, gives us a spit in the face. Apart of the forced controversy created by ND about their Agenda, the need of an “opene mind” to play and enjoy I must to say that I never mind any more If Joel dies, I Ellie is gay, if Abby is a genetic photosop male with a girl layer mask on his/her face and the graphics are better than ever and so.

    After 15 hours of gameplay at survival mode (I made four runs of the first part at grounded mode) I would be terrible bored playing if this were about Ellie and Joel, the actuals nor the modified, trying to save the babe of Ellie with a non letal vacune on him.

    Naugthy Dog is just the same since Uncharted One, an older, boring, saddist CGI that love to treat bad to the gamers that look for a real deal playing at max. The same boring scenes, or you shot kill everyone or you just get the trigger scape with a fast run.

    TLOU2 is a boring game, with boring plots, nor one of them gets you on the shoes of anyone, you just don’t enjoy any situation. Maybe the Seattle underground was the best for me.

    Easier than the first TLOU this game do not offered to me any kind of interest or motivation to play till the end. It’s terrible long, unnecessary long, but having spend 15 hour to get to the 10% of the story knowing that the next 80% I will be forced to play with Abby, a ramdon NCP which destiny I won’t ever care is a No Man I’m done Sir now!

    This is the worst plot story ever made, supported under weaks fundaments like:
    Joel: Omg I lied to Ellie
    Ellie: He lied to me
    Dina: You lied to me about your immunity
    Jess: You lied to me about you were pregnant
    Ellie: Agree
    Abby: agree but about the ex of my boyfriend

    This is stupid, ridiculous, shilly, lazy, boring.

    But forgetting the plots, the characters, the storytelling, the gameplay is just the older boring Naughty Dogs it's been doing long time ago.

    I forgot it for Uncharted 4 and TLOU 1 because the plot and the characters and their quest and conflict, but thanks to this twists I can say that the big problem is that ND loves to treat very very bad to the gamers and that’s because I rank to 0.
