To be honest, for me the first game didn't really have any really interesting gameplay, it was just all about the story. This one doesn't completely drops the ball (It's bad cliched, out of character and just plain endless violence), and there is absolutelyOof, can't beleive I spent full price for this steaming bs. It is just going from one level to another clearing out enemies. Also about the enemies, there is very less variety and absolutely no sense of development. And don't even get me started about the story. Should have probably checked the leaks before buying, but I thought that ND deserved to get a chance without any preconceived notions. Big mistake. Guys, save yourself the money and get P5R, which is the best game of the year or save of Cyberpunk 2077. And the guys who are giving this full rating are just vowed by the graphics and presentation, which to be fair is one of the bests of this generation (PS4). I don't own a PS4 pro but no doubt it looks better. But good graphics and presentation are not enough to make a game and I would rather watch a movie in that case. I would give this a 4 but the blatant disrespect to consumers (false advertising in the trailers) which I won't detail here to keep it spoiler free forces me to knock this down to zero.… Expand

I don't need stuff rubbed in my face. I don't need to be told i'm bad and the things I like are bad. I want a good game play experience with a solid GOOD story. this is just not it. this is shock value for the sake of it really and the big moral code that this dev thinks he has isn't all that. middle aged edgelord is edgy. we get it. what a bore.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The story is so poor, we spit on everything that was built during TLOU 1. Joel was a real T-800 during the first adventure, remember the ambush scene with the truck? That's Joel, a guy who doesn't fall into traps and doesn't trust anyone.
    And in TLOU 2, suddenly, after rescuing a stranger, he finds himself in a dark room with a dozen people armed, reveals his real name as if they were his buddies and gets shot. writing 0/10.
    And because above all TLOU is a game that has succeeded thanks to its story and characters, as well as a keen sense of detail, destroying this legacy because of some kind of nauseating anti-vengeance/non-violence moral forced down the throat is absolutely unacceptable. It doesn't matter if you put trans or gay people in the game, we don't care, but stop forcing your political agenda in games where it doesn't belong. Do you really think that in a situation where society is collapsing as a result of a virus that creates zombie fungus trans people would be a topic for discussion?
    - "you're gay, you're trans, you're both at the same time? I'm happy for you, now let's find some food to survive." That's what it should look like.     The game is the literal "Guys revenge is bad for u" book.
    Its honestly hard to beleive that the same company which made Uncharted 4 and TLOU can ruin their own stuff this **** bad. Uncharted 4 was without a doubt the most detailed game at least i have ever seen. The last of us is the only game till now which wasnt as story oriented like Detroit Become human or heavy rain but still made u dive deep into the characters.

Naturally, seeing the news of the sequel and the trailer of the work afterwards, I couldn't help but get excited. I waited for release with high expectations. When I'm watching the last episode of game of thrones I was having a mental breakdown like the hell break lose I was sad and angry at the same time I was asking my self What happened to my beloved complex multi layer characters what happened to deep meaningful surprising rational storyline I can't believe what I have witnessed  with my eyes and This horrible feeling strike me today my beloved video game the characters that I loved so much over the years act so irrational the plot is antiqued and the gameplay stretched to 25 hour's and other characters is so tedious and boring as if they all end up dead u wouldn't care less The whole game gather around go from point a to point b And do it all over again Kill or bypass enemies and go to another location over and over again For Animations and visuals is top notch one the best in the industry but we don't play last of us for gameplay or geraphics we play it because we so attached to character and it's cruel world and beautiful well thought written story and deep humen relationships but the story here is horrendous Ellie keep making so many irrational decisions that makes my head hurts  she is so unbelievable selfish it feels like I'm watching game of thrones mother of dragon last season all over again Whole thing is so cringy and super clishe revenge story.  last of us 1 storyline was unique you see the beauty and ugliness in this world and character's interaction and decisions all makes sense but here in last of us 2 nothing makes sense and storyline are full of Holes and leave my questions in the air.

Also, it destroyed all the built-up and characters from the previous game just to add new characters that are not memorable or even relevant to the story. It's impossible for me to recommend this game, the gameplay is outdated and the story is horrible.

It made me lower my expectations lower than they have ever been and I was still disappointed. The plot is absolute garbage and that is no over exaggeration. A C grade revenge plot with utterly uninteresting characters.

    Abby is some angry chick who gets saved by Joel just for her to blow his leg off with a shotgun and then to club him to death with a golf club in the first 3 hours of gameplay. The rest of the game is a one-dimensional revenge plot that tried really hard to include some edge and depth but failed miserably.    … Expand

    They removed almost all of the puzzle elements from the game. Story is also poorly written and feels violent just for the sake of being violent. I thought the first game was pretty good but this is just a huge step down in my opinion.

I purchased this game not just for the stellar gameplay that the original had to offer, but also for the deep and compelling characters that made the first such a masterpiece. The first game had puzzles that were clever, gameplay was good and overall, pieced together an experience that the plau could grow along with as it made the world and the characters within it relatable. But you won't find that here, not in the last of us part 2. They completely kill off beloved characters out of disrespect for fans of the first, just for shock value. The story of Ellie being unique and immune from the first is barely awknowledged. They took everything good from the first and desicrated it, it's not the same characters you fell in love with and truth be told if you loved the first games characters then you will loath part 2's.

    This "game" is not anymore a game then it is a message from the developer; a message that makes it abundantly clear that if you're white or straight then this game is NOT for you. You're the bad guy here. The gameplay consists of 20 hours of stealth and combat, with very little in between to give you a break from combat. There are no light hearted moment that gives you a reprieve from its "you're so bad and violence is wrong" message. Its hours of the same thing over and over and over, which would be fine if the story was acceptable, and SPOILER ALERT it's NOT. The main characters from the previous game have been entirely rewritten for a revenge story that conflicts with who they are. The new characters are straight from the LGBT board of representatives, and designs and personalities are probably more prejudiced than I really want to admit.     Everything feels artificial and sanitized. You can feel it as a metallic taste in your mouth for an hour to come.

Graphics and animations have been improved and the game looks very good, but unfortunately thats pretty much all i can say is positive about the game. The gameplay is pretty much the same as in part 1, which by itself isn’t bad, but not adding new features does make everything a bit repetitive. Now we come to my biggest problem with the game... the story. 2 hours in Joel gets killed, you go after abby to kill her, some random flashbacks here and there, some random ppl die along the way, and in the end you don‘t kill her because you had a flashback of Joel playing the guitar... that’s it. Characters aren’t very interesting, the whole plot is stupid and I couldn’t care less about Abby and her failed love life (and you‘re pretty much forced to play as her for half of the game). And for everybody saying I‘m hating the last of us 2 because I have a problem with lesbians... it‘s not like Ellie was a lesbian in the last of us left behind dlc already... and ppl didn‘t have a problem with that game so your argument it invalid.… Expand

The redemption of joel in the first game, making him have a second chance in his life is erased, they literally threw in the trash, it’s like the hole story of the first game, all the characters constructions, personality, skills etc never happened. It’s full of SJW agenda, man, how the fuk ellie just turned around to like woman, “ooooh the DLC” c’mon bro this thing doesn’t have any context, they wanted her to be lesbian no matter what. And man, abby is so like a trap, it’s so like a man, they made a long hair that doesn’t exist, because when the character is visualized by the head, it seems she has short hair, like a man has. It’s almost that you doubt if her is a man or not in some scenes, the sex scene with owen it seems two man are having sex. The gameplay becomes a little boring because you don’t want to finish that story. It’s like a oscar SJW film and man how the fuk dina’s baby survived after she almost dye by abby. “But nooo it has survived, because we want to put a lesbian family in the game and that’s it accept it”, tommy gets a shot in the head but his alive, accept that too. Poor writing, nothing in this game doesn’t make any sense. And how ellie likes weed now? Really? That scene it’s just to pass a liberal agenda. The final is so horrible, ellie left everything behind to get her revenge, she has traumatic stress, remembering joel killed all the time by abby, but you now let her live, it just make so many sense why not. But how does that even make sense when we all knew no matter how good or bad this game was, millions were going to be playing it and watching it.     Imagine if those leaks never happened. Players would concentrate on the whole story, without specifying certain moments. No one would play the game with leaked scenes in mind. Just try to perceive the story as a chunk, not in pieces. Maybe THEN you will understand.
