    The graphics are great. Gameplay is standard or slightly below. Nothing impressive as far as a game goes. The beautiful scenery is lovely but you aren't doing anything interesting in it. Combat is below expectations. The story is beyond terrible. It isn't that it tries so hard to be edgy that ruins it... it isn't even the intentional **** on the fans of the first game...     In the other hand there is the story, The last of Us was a game about the last humans trying to survive in a savage world, this game ditches all that story and it's only about humans doing human things, the virus has lost all of it's weight in the story and it's just like a very secondary plot. The writers also make a titanic effort to make you empathize with the new characters and too little to actually develop the old ones, there are parts of the story that feel too long and others that feel too rushed but the worst part is that they reutilice a lot of locations and scenaries just to make the game longer in things that they could add in a cinematic.
    This is going to be the most overrated game this year for sure.    … Expand

The foundation for TLOU becoming such a good game is mainly because of the story line and the way naughty dog decided to present this story line just seems rushed and very bad written, even the character personalities is totally changed. in what world would Joel follow a stranger into their group of people? Playing as Abby for half the game is boring and torturing. Btw the ending sucked even more than Joel being killed off. Please fire Neil Druckman :)… Expand

Let's break it down: The game takes about 3 hours ON AVERAGE to develop/hype up characters nobody gave a rat's ass about, and then they do absolute **** Then, actually developed characters with huge amounts of future/past potential, just...gone. Hers an example: Lev, whom Naughty Dog spent 6+ hours to develop with, her ONLY interaction with the relevant plot of "revenge" was calling out "Abby". This is not a joke. Any side character or even extra cutscene displaying Abby having morals could have easily achieved the same effect. That religious cult? that you excepted great things from? Nah they did absolutely nothing to the revenge plot. That entire development could've been Abby taking a dump in the toilet and nothing would change. And as if the story isn't bad enough, Repetitive puzzles and draining lootings, unnecessarily enormous environments with very little that worths exploring, and Metacritic now deletes negative reviews (from 5015 to 3621 as of this very moment), has just lost all the respect built from TLOU 1.     the writing is appalling, maybe if you didnt play the first game than this one is alright. But as a sequal this game is really really bad. They had 7 years for this and couldnt have done a worse job. Dont buy the game, watch someones playthrough and be happy you didnt spend money on it. Season 8 Game of Thrones all over again.

    I didn't play the first one. I played the first 2 hours and got kinda bored. Looks great from a technical stand point but not for me in terms of the boring game play loop and the boring from what i've played . I should have saved the 60 for ghost of tsushima

    You don't get a proper closure, just emptiness and a lot of WTFs.
    No payoff, characters inside make decisions that can make your head spin.
    All expectations are subverted ( some might think this is a pro, not me).

    Mediocre : Sounds and music can be better. ( part 1 does it a bit better )
    Combat is better but not as good as recent AAA titles.
    Repetitive game-play.

    I am severely disappointed even-tho i really try to like it.
    I am just a normal person who wish to enjoy games as an escape from reality.
    I will vote with my wallet carefully next time.
    I wish I could give it a 2 or 3 in the score but the story just kills every single cell in me to give it anything positive.

    The plot was not impressive, new characters introduced to please certain communities. The gameplay remains the same as in the first part. Innovations are minimal. I was pleased only with the graphics and individual gameplay moments. I did not like what they did to their favorite character.

    Sad, I was a huge fan of the first game and they decide to alienate half their fan base for a political message that didn't fit the story. While the graphics, music and gameplay are still amazing, the story which is what made us all fall for the first game is complete **** and is horribly written , characters are acting completely out of character and there are plot holes left and right .

    Completely undid the first game that was a massive success. Forced character narratives, very slow slog of a game. Characters act against their normal method of operation for stupid reasons to drive plot.

    Painful cringe experience.

    There's some stuff in here that's never been in a video game before. It may not be able to be stomached by most.

I mean, pegged is an understatement, but that is how I felt all night.

I mean, pegged is an understatement, but that is how I felt all night.

    I think the most tasteful part was when Druckmann and his mafia goons stepped in as NPCs to altruistically remind us that sacrificing beloved heroes on the alter of political agenda is always universally acceptable. The man just oozes grace and intellectual honesty. It was probably the 2nd most noble thing he's done (after ousting the critically panned Amy Hennig from her position at ND to appease all those misogynists who have always been so vocal about hating her work, like Uncharted).

    Put simply, it's Schindler's List 2: Schindler's Fist meets Captain Marvel (though perhaps not as deep as the latter). If you buy this game only once, I'm afraid you're part of the problem and need someone miserable, aggressive, and uninformative to re-educate you.

    If you have to choose between feeding your dog or buying this game, then that feeling of self-anointed moral superiority will more than make up for the dogless days ahead. Trust me. My dog died.

    What they did with the main characters is an abomination. Naughty dog's worst game yet. Gameplay is also boring as hell. I'm happy the game was a gift and I didn't have to spend a dime on this tragedy.

I don't know what you liked in The Last of Us game, but what I liked was the atmosphere and character relationships. Although this game is very successful in terms of atmosphere and gameplay, I cannot say the same for its story. Joel, who is my favorite and empathetic character in this game, is dying in this game. and neither a character is added to replace it, nor can it fill in Ellie. The game is already doing everything it can to hate fifty. You always feel at your side as Joel is on his way to revenge, but this feeling decreases as you progress in the script. I do not want to touch upon the love triangle events during the trip. after some point in the game you are playing with Abby and you see his past and his experiences. you partially empathize with it and start giving rights to it. we even break the mouth of the fifty face while controlling Abby at some point. I don't know or I couldn't find the scenario I expected from this game. he explains the scenario he wants to tell very well but I did not like the scenario they told.… Expand

Exploring the roots of the virus? New adventures with both Joel and Ellie? F*** no.Let's kill a beloved MC for shock value, demand players to play a shallow character (joel saves her life and she just shotguns and golfs his head in) that no one gives two **** about,
    plot the entire game on revenge after revenge and in the end force our character to do exactly what most players dont want.Plus there is so many plotholes through it all,and most character's are like "Hey it's me this is my story"(and one in particular just exists to justify a pregnency, then dies like a **** dog) and then we never see them again.

    One thing, that i did like story-wise was the relationship of Ellie and Dina. It felt natural and believable.I enjoyed that.But it all falls apart on this mess of a story

    Gameplay is awesome, but the story ruins it all.(After all it's a narrative story) Also, Sony false advertised JOEL in the trailers. JOEL appeared on many parts of the trailers pointing that there would be an adventure with the duo, but they fking replaced it with Jessee.Also the flashbacks of TLOU were altered to comply with this story.

    A mess of a game. How low did naughty dog fell.

    Worse that this **** game is the "critics". How dare they all give 100's on this mess?
    I wouldn't accept the rumor that sony pays for reviews, but in this case...it's more than evident.    … Expand

Everything feels forced and out of place in this game, there's really no words to describe how disappointed I am with this game after waiting for it for so long. Gone are the interactions between the 2 leads, gone is the moral greyness, and in their place we have virtue signalling, the game director writing the actors into a fully mocapped sex scene with his self-insert character. Do yourself a favour and don't waste money on this game, buy something that's actually good, like Witcher 3. At least it had actual strong female leads without patronising its fanbase.

    They murdered the storyline and one of the best characters in gaming history was killed off like he was a not important npc

    tlou story and the relationship between ellie and joel what made me love this game and they just forgot all about that, for me tlou part 2 never existed

Add to that you basically play a brutal murderer for how much of the game. Plus the out of date game play and stupid A.I. As well, knowing how the company has treated YouTubers, and illegally damaged theirTalk about a horribly written game, this one takes the cake.     Overall. This game is just... a long movie. No choices to make, just sit back and enjoy the constant violence. Barely any levity. I understand its a bleak world but holy heck can you at least give us something? People you care about get murdered, slaughtered, maimed and all kinds of things, until you eventually just become numb to it. And then at the ending you are supposed to care again.

    I see what they try to do with the "cycle of violence, but its written by a two year old.
    Don't waste your money.

    Now, spoilers, be warned, below this be spoilers matey.

    Non spoiler people gone? Yeah? Good.

    I just... Ok everybody knows Joel dies by now because of the spoilers. But the way they did it. It was nihilistic, gross, disgusting. He didnt go out in some heroic moment, he wasnt protecting Ellie. He just gets clubbed down with a golf club while other people spit on his corpse. AGAIN i understand the game is supposed to be bleak, but this is a character people have loved for 7 years. Its completely disrespectful towards any fan of the previous game.

    Then you play Abby, and we are supposed to be caring for her? I mean... what? Because Joel killed her dad. Cycle of violence, we get it, revenge begets revenge, because Ellie will go after Abby bla bla bla.

    I understand what they are trying to do. But the end just makes it laughable. You go killing HUNDREDS of humans, to get revenge for Joel. But in the end you let Abby live, because Ellie gets a flashback of Joel. And decided its not worth it. HOW about the other hundreds of people you eradicated in your quest for revenge? You just let the actual killer go? It's just ridiculous.

    Joel would have killed her in a heartbeat if she killed Ellie.

    Anyway. Zen. This game is trying to get us angry, and i get that i will be judged just emotional, and reacting exactly as i should have. But im simply angry because it was all so poorly written, poorly handled and executed. Joel has always been paranoid and super careful, but decides to just let himself get captured, after giving away his full name to strangers who obviously are luring him into a trap. Joel would never have given away his full name. But because of plot, he had to.

    I understand its a game, so obstacles have to exist in games. But its almost comical how you get to wipe out literal hundreds of people, and then get to feel bad about killing someone who killed your father figure, letting her go.

    1/10. Such a slap in the face. I loved TLOU. But this franchise is dead to me.
    I hope you enjoy it. I really do. Just here to say my piece. And i would recommend not supporting this crap financially. They will only make more of this crap.

    Oh i left out graphics and gameplay.
    Gameplay is fine, nothing groundbreaking. 7/10

    One of these employees must’ve thought Batman vs Superman was a theatrical masterpiece and decided to have an actual repeat of the “Martha” moment in game. You would think that they would learn the mistake and not repeat it, but that’s what happens when you get cocky.

An extension to the greatest game of its generation, butchered by a narrative dependent on shock value and cheap tricks that illustrate genuine contempt for the relationship of the original characters from which the greatness of the original is built.

    To their credit, the writers display immense confidence in their ability to manipulate an audience and to that effect they succeed. If the goal was to develop a harrowing experience that truly reflected the cycle of revenge in a post-apocalyptic work, they succeed unquestionably.

    Where I believe they fail is a fundamental misunderstanding of the human condition and perhaps even an underestimation of the profound impact of their game on so so many of their player base. We are well aware that Joel's actions in the first game are self-centred, shallow, brash and immoral beyond belief. Therefore, we also understand the reaction of certain characters in the sequel. In fact, empathising with these characters is very easy. I suspect in the years writers spent creating these new characters they developed an attachment and empathy for them that is simply not present in players. We fell in love with two characters and learned to accept them for all their misgivings and their flaws. I seldom think there exists plot devices or writing techniques that would have lessened our affiliation with Joel and Ellie to the point where we are willing to accept her final decision. I also believe there will be far less contentiousness about the morality of her final decision as there was with Joel's final decision at the end of the original. It rather feels like a final **** you' to Joel and a mockery of what he was willing to do for Ellie.

    Unfortunately, the success of the first game meant a sequel needed to be about Ellie. This game is not about Ellie. By the time this game is over, it has decimated its original cast and completely tarnished the message it brutally attempted to deliver throughout the entirety of the game. For although the 'cycle of violence' has been broken, there is no tangible benefit from Ellie's growth and in fact the message this game sends, upon further reflection, is perhaps that Joel's self-centred, shallow, brash and immoral methodologies depicted in the first game were necessary. That game concludes with Joel as perhaps a villain, but a winner nonetheless. For all of Ellie's growth as this second story comes to a crescendo, her character development causes her more suffering than adopting original Joel's 'kill-or-be-killed' approach. Further, the tangible softening of Joel in this saga would have been believable and welcomed, given 4 years of interacting with Ellie. It also would've been an excellent trait in a secondary character. Unfortunately, it appears to have been paired with an unexplainable development of an unprecedented trust in strangers that is horrendously uncharacteristic.

    The few bright spots in the first game are gone, replaced by a never-ending bleakness that is robbed of at least a satisfying conclusion. Obviously, the confidence of the writers somewhere along the line crossed into hubris and what I'm sure to them feels like a 'mic-drop' moment falls well short of what could've been a redeeming ending. The actual ending that appears in the game also appears to undermine the message it tries to enforce throughout. Ellie evidently finally understands the not-so-subtle lesson her journey has been trying to illustrate and demonstrates genuine growth. Somehow, the writers decide not to reward her for this and it is unbelievably those who enacted their revenge that find themselves with a satisfying conclusion, while Ellie and the player are left alone in a still lake - cold, in pain and heartbroken.    … Expand

    Horrible game. Graphics are okay, but that should be a standard, gameplay was not improved instead it was a movie with the occasional walking sim parts, the story is absolutely a pile of steaming crap. 20 hours of non-stop pain and suffering until you get an inconclusive ending.
