    A ton of effort by the team has been sunk in a project that was doomed from the beginning. Neil Druckmann fails to eliminate his prejudices and beliefs from a project that has nothing to do with them. If the negative reviews from the users are once again silenced, this will repeat over and over again. There needs to be a risk in creating a sequel to a successful game, and this is the only way us users can ensure that. No matter how you look at it, The Last of Us name was used for a different purpose, perhaps to further a movement or to ensure progressiveness in video game titles, but no matter what, that approach to the sequel took away from the passion of the directors for the video game itself, and more for its possible effect on society. Perhaps if they truly wanted to help as many people as possible, they would have delivered a high quality game in a time of need for everyone. This game is not only a disappointment, but an injustice that should somehow be corrected. To anyone that is reading this and thinks that the game does not deserve such a bad review score (and it really doesn't - it's a pretty good game) all I have to say is that this is just the only punishment that we the users can dish out. If we were to stay silenced, this would always repeat. And perhaps the amazing team that worked on this game's visuals, animations, soundtrack, and programming might be better off in another company, as their skill has truly not went unnoticed. If we somehow impact Naughty Dog studios with this bombing, those talented people will go to teams where their talent will enhance the strong base provided by a well-written story and message, instead of being the only good thing about an otherwise sub-par game.… Expand

    Да, сюжет - говно для малолетних дебилов;
    Да, геймплей в большинстве своём притянут за уши; НО: Графика на уровне современных игр, Геймплей всё же в некоторых местах хорош (как минимум в последних часах игры). И всё же я считаю низким то, что говеность игры решили прикрыть толерантностью. Да, эта тема освещается лишь пару минут игры, но Нил Дракман    Игра заслуживает максимум 5 из 10:

    Скажу честно, игра довольно таки скучная. В самом начале The Last Of Us 2 задала себе высокую планку, в нее действительно было интересно играть. Крутой саундтрек, графика , диалоги/сюжетные твисты - мне понравилось, по моему мнение все это на высшем уровне. Но... что-то пошло не так. Я не хочу выливать на эту игру много грязи, за меня это сделали уже практически все(И я не считаю, что этиСкажу честно, игра довольно таки скучная.     Great game, interesting plot. The graphics are super, the storyline is very interesting and makes you experience the whole spectrum of feelings. There are controversial moments, there are not favorites, but all together it gives a cool effect, after which you think about this game for another half a night

    Loved the game. Patiently waited for 7 years and ND truly delivered. Please play the game with an open mind, don't get misguided by the truly unjustified user reviews. People don't know what a 0-3 game looks like. Even if the story is bad for some people, it deserves much higher score for everything else, the effort that developers have put in.     I finished the game on Monday morning and still can't get it out of my head. Post-game depression is real, can't even think of playing any game for a long time. They feel so "weak" compared to what ND has created. 10/10 from me.    … Expand

Всех персонаже изменили, они стали совершенно другими, единственный, кто вывозил игру, это был Джоэл. И то его глупо слили в самом начале, это просто ужасно. Повестка есть, благо не слишком яркая, и немного отталкивается от дополнения первой части…но она есть, а значит - минус. Сюжет затянут, концовка отвратительная, по сути все наши действия ни к чему не привели. Не дай бог выпустят третью часть… Жаль работяг, которые всю душу в игру вкладывали… руководству бы что-нибудь отрезать. Я разочарован;(… Expand

    Finished it more than 24 hours ago and I’m still crying intermittently. Feels like a bad breakup and I’m so sad. But if a GAME can make you feel that strongly, even if the emotion is negative, how amazing is that?

На таких людей у меня слов не находится. Сюжет отличный и оставляет как и после 1 части в растерянности. Я честно не знаю что делал бы в ситуации в которую попала Элли. Как и в 1 части с Джоэлом. Геймплейно игра изменилась но и оставила нотки предыдущей части, что по мне огромный плюс. Всегда не хватает ресурсов, что заставляет тебя либо не убивать врагов а проходить в тихую, либ… Expand

    I haven’t finished the game yet but honestly I think this is just as good as the first game if not better, they already won me over with the amazing graphics as I am a picture detail fanatic, but the story is great as well adding to an already amazing looking game. The story may not be true to some people, or just the story is not the same. If to compare easily Award-winning movie Most of them may not be pleasing to the viewers but understand.     This game is incredible. The gameplay and graphics are incredible for PS4. How this runs on the vanilla PS4 is a credit to the developers. No frame rate drops anywhere in the game. The story is dramatic, I think the story is fantastic. It is always a sore subject when a loved character dies. There are low points in the game and some high points. I’ve read several that are just purposely writing bad reviews while freely admitting they’ve either only watched the leaks or not played at all. Metacritic needs to implement some kind of system where you can only review a game when you have actually played it.

    This game is stunning to look at, just like the first. The graphics are so incredible that it almost feels like you are watching real people during the cutscenes. The voice acting is also 10/10.
    Gameplay is very similar to the first and so the only real change obviously is the story.
    There were a couple of things I disliked about the games story which is why I give it an 8/10 instead of 10.
    A fantastically beautiful game but not quite as good as the first. I would definitely like to see a Part 3. Well done Naughty Dog.    … Expand

    The gameplay is a lot better than the first ones, this is nothing surprising considering is a game that was released 7 years ago, but it's a fact that the gameplay of this game its not a bad gameply in fact i relly ejoied it , it brings up new possibilities in the shooting and in the sneak.
    The history of this game is what made the people mad, I really think the history isn't as bad as some people say it is, like I've said i quite enjoi the game, I wouldn't complain if in the end you kill Abby, but you dont and I neigther complain in this case, this game has a message, it has a meaning that gives sense to the joels death and too the Abby 10 hour gameplay, in this game the want you to be aware about the consequence of your acts, they want you to know that anyone you are killing isn't just a "bad guy" is a person whit family and friends, when you kill someone in the game their partners will shout their name in pain. the are not just some tarjets for you to shoot theya feel like you and they have lost people like you. Abby kill Joel because Joel killed hers father, and Ellie wants Abby dead because her killed her adoptive father, and the end show us that if you can forgive Joel for sentecing the whole humanity by saving Ellie, the you could forgive some girl taking revenge for hers father. In my oppinion and in my own experience this is a game that deserves a 8 or maybe a 9.    … Expand

Это дикие эмоциональные горки, безумная двойственность и выворачивание наизнанку персонажей и игрока. Я видела только промо ролики, самоудалилась из интернета, сделала предзаказ и прошла игру. Это жестоко давать нам играть за Эбби, жестоко убивать Джоэла, жестоко превращать Элли в монстра. Но великолепно и рисковано пытаться показать другую сторону. Да, может я и не полюбила Эбби, так как люблю Элли, но именно Эбби остановила круг насилия. Именно она оставила Дину, Элли и Томми. Сейчас я могу бесконечно говорить про две стороны одной медали, про многогранность человека, про эмоции, про то, как не укладывается всё это в голове, потому что этого слишком много. Но достойная ли это игра? Да. Я не обязана ее любить, чтобы это понимать.
    Но игровой опыт который я получила, я могу оценить. Могу понять почему сделали так и не иначе, проще сказать "чтобы вызвать эмоции". Но сейчас я даже не могу придумать такого же сильного сюжета, чтобы спустя 20 часов не было впечатления "всё понятно, месть злобной девахи, gg wp, go next". С другой стороны, мне никому ничего не нужно рассказывать и доказывать. Игра нормальная. Вызывает эмоции. Жаль Элли, девочка потеряла всё в своей погоне.    … Expand

It is sad that those who did not play this game believe that they understood everything on YouTube and underestimate the ratings.     The game as a "game" is superb, Naughty Dog plays in his own league in many aspects, however the story is not perfect in my opinion. I am not talking about the main line, but the small mistakes that sometimes make you feel "wtf?!". Overall 9/10, I am looking forward to Part III.

    Just like the first one, this game will leave lasting memories and I thank everyone involved in its making. I didn't find the gameplay as challenging as I was expecting and I wish the puzzle had a bit more depth than finding codes for safes. But i bought the game to experience an emotional and intense interactive story, and I got what I wanted.

I for one might have agreed half-way through the game. In the end, however, all of it made sense to me, because after everything that happens in the game, you, the player, went through the same character development ark as Ellie did. The characters really bring a story to life which had me on the edge of my seat during the whole playthrough. This is why I'm incredibly impressed with Naughty Dog, there is no game that makes you feel this angry, confused and sad. I feel like some fans mistake the emotions they had during their playthrough for their feelings towards the game.… Expand

I think what people are forgetting is the amazing journey of the last of us where a reluctant Joel takes Ellie on a journey to help humanity, in this journey its highlighted that Ellie needs Joel in both the connection built but also gameplay survival.
    The sequel finds Ellie and other characters take on the 'alpha' role in gameplay and assisting side characters as a full circle moment. This game demonstrates the vicious cycle of good vs evil and in who's eyes that can be perceived.
    Remember that Joel did a questionable deed at the end of part 1.
    In a quest for vengeance that the game makes you want badly you find yourself feeling disturbed by the actions taken by the games lead character. When you play as the other perspective you really dislike the playing initially and I found myself rushing this story arch. Amazingly the game forces you to learn and grow with the character and start to understand their side of the feeling of torment and destruction brought upon their life from actions in the first game.
    However, you still want your vengeance as Ellie. Once you get to the point of vengeance you don't really want Ellie to do it as you have become disturbed with how vengeful the character has become and lost who she is. It feels as though Ellie in her final fight realises that this path has cost her everything and more due to her actions and yet Joel knew what he did was wrong in the first but could live with that decision. He would not have wanted Ellie to become who she has. It ends with her accepting that this vengeful path has no end and the game manages to make you feel at peace with liking your lead character again. Any other route would have lead to a slight distaste for Ellie herself for myself The game has you encounter many other tribes and factions in the second and can lead you to believe and think that the distruction you cause may have hurt or messed with the wrong tribe causing another endless cycle of vengence as everybody is the good guy in their story and everyone is the bad guy.

    At points playing as other characters that were affected by Joels actions in the first they end up hurting their own faction and in gameplay you hear them state they will do what it takes or "kill every last one" all for what they did. This is showing them to be the same as Joel yet initially being against his actions. Making you the user realise that no one is truly good and will do whatever it takes in order to do the 'good' they perceive.

    Thoroughly enjoyable to play that leaves you emotionally drained. Some charater movements were still rough, such as supporting AI walking into you and this pushes you out from cover or hinders your movement. The main charater should cause the AI to move out of the way when you run near buy in this the AI was an immovable wall causing some frantic scenes of fighting to cause annoying deaths. Also occasional lead cahratee bugs such as Ellie's phantom broke arm that disrupted being able to aim properly. This was fixed by having to reset that save point but still small issues that should be experience with a game of this level and time in development. These small but disruptive issues that break up the enjoyable experience drop my score from a 9/10 to 8.5/10

    Love the game, the direction and message and truly holds up the last of us deep and disturbing storylines

    The Last of Us has long been a revered title, but the storytelling always did the heavy lifting. Providing interesting context to simplistic environmental puzzles and fairly standard third person action through an interesting dual character development arc and stunning graphics for the time was enough to embed it in the zeitgeist amongst other classic Playstation titles of its era. The Last of Us 2 is The Last of Us, again, but this time without the environmental puzzles or competent storytelling. Smoother animations, slick cutscenes for embarrassingly uninteresting weapon upgrades, and a shiny new pass at Joel's facial hair can't hide the lack of innovation in mechanics, ever-present movement jank, and repetitive gameplay objectives. I am sick of conveniently somewhat-jammed doors blocking arena exits, reading nigh-dictative letters that no one would ever write, and listening to characters mindlessly chatter away while they investigate dangerous territory in a zombie apocalypse. I'm sick of enemies with infinite ammo weapons that magically either disappear when they're killed or suddenly only have two bullets left in them if they don't. I'm sick of flashbacks within flashbacks, and hearing the NPCs cry out when the fourth guy named 'Angel' is killed. The Last of Us 2's particular brand of faux-realism smacks of weak design requiring further iteration, which is a devastating notion given this game's long development cycle and near-identical nature to its predecessor. At its core, there is only highly-standard third-person shooting and two-button melee combat, with the addition of some mild stealth elements. It was done better before the first game's release, and it's been done better since, but the development team thought there was no need to improve upon any of these elements.

    Thus far I've avoided directly talking about the story. I'll continue to do so, but I will address it in vagueries, because it's an important part of why this game doesn't work. After an inciting incident, and the conclusion to a shorter story arc, there is a twist that involves a perspective shift. This perspective shift is meant to humanize the antagonist in the game, and ultimately show that revenge is an endless cycle of unsatisfying victimization and pain. This shift occurs at the absolute peak of the audience's hatred for the antagonist character, at the moment when the revenge is about to be carried out. The story resets, and you are expected to grow to empathize with the antagonist, who carries out the initial incident over a misinterpretation of events of Seinfeldian proportions. You play again back until the climactic point in the story, which turns out to not be the true climax, and then you play again to another unsatisfying climax. This ass-backwards attempt at subversive storytelling results in a situation where I can imagine many people playing this game hoping for the death of their own player character. And yet, with each death comes a loading screen, as the story demands you take this character that you hate to the story's conclusion. Imagine the famous Call of Duty mission "No Russian", but for eight hours and you aren't a spy that gets betrayed. Hamfisted attempts at characterization and heartstring-pulling ensue, as they are necessary to try to win you over. Whether or not these work on you depend on how hypocritical you're willing to be about killing some people and saving others, because apparently killing for revenge is somehow worse than normal killing.

    It's the same game again with prettier graphics, less to do, and less to care about. The twist this time is that there is no redeeming value, interesting character development, or satisfying conclusion to the story. This game will be a flashpoint of controversy for years to come, despite its critical praise and financial success, due to the politics surrounding the story, its creator's now infamous persona, and the breathtaking division that has been sown in the series' fanbase.    … Expand

The start was heart-breaking and probably put a lot of players off but on the grand scale on things the game is very human. Not everything pans out like we want it too. The game-play is new and exciting but at times, get repetitive. The story is dark and depressing but very gripping. The graphics are incredible and nothing like I’ve seen before.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of us part 2 is a decent sequel to the first game but falls short in many aspects. Those aspects unfortunately being story related. No doubt the gameplay is fantastic, the atmosphere is amazing, the scenery and graphics are incredible but the story made no sense to me at times. I enjoyed most moments in the game but the abby sections that you are forced to play about 15 hours into the game were really bad. The reason why they were really bad was because after Joel's death you're forced to play and feel empathy for the killer. I didn't like abby one bit. I didn't feel sorry for her considering she brutally murdered joel and tortured him in such a way that it was hard to watch. The narrative for the last of us part 2 is revenge and by the end of the game when you finally catch up to abby and are ready to kill her you let her go. While i can understand this, it completely contradicts what the entire game is about and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. At least Ellie does survive at the end though. That was probably one of the most relieving moments of the game. Overall I'd say fantastic gameplay, graphics and scenery but poorly executed story and for Abby's section poor character development. Oh and the Rat King section made me poop my pants.… Expand

I waited for this game for many, many years and was so excited as soon as I got it, I avoided any possible spoilers and came clean to the game knowing that the first game was perfect and even played it twice and enjoyed every moment. Eli and Joel were simply amazing and couldn't help but connectto them.Then, came the second game.In one word - disappointment! the beginning is just annoying, this moment that killed Joel with such indifference, I knew he would die at some point but not like that, no way he would have helped Abby. He is suspicious and relentless and would just leave her alone to handle her self and never enter to a trap. And then comes the moment when I'm just full of hatred for abby and just want to kill her and get revenge on Joel's damn death. and then, shamefully i'm going to play abby?! Why the hell?! The whole game I was waiting to be back to olay as elli and it didn't happen and for a long time we were as this damn abby that sometimes I put her to death even though I played her and didn't feel pity, and then when the meeting finally happens, again, I have to fight elli?! wtf ?! Just **** And at the end we still let abby go and let her go ?! And beyond the main characters, the whole story about the bad guys is just unfounded, briefly reminiscent of the wonderful Spider-Man 2 in his failure that was to manny bad guys and their stories unfounded. who are these WLF and why were they created? Who are these scars and why were they created? and who is this group from Santa Barbara and where did they come from and what is their story ?! Oh And there are also zombies .... just a messy game and a miserable story and it would have been better not to go out with this game, not to ruin the first one ... the ending of the first one was perfect! And the story, too, had a simple basis, and in the second game there was just one big mess. And let's talk about the trailer, in the trailer we see Eli playing in a guitar in a house full of dead people and Joel suddenly comes in slowly and tells elli "whats'up kiddo?"     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I personally enjoyed the gameplay a lot, and felt it was a very good experience through the way Ellie must adapt to survive. I thought the dynamic between Dina and Ellie was awesome, I enjoyed the way the bonded together and all the exploring. The first half of the game was very good in my opinion, apart from what happened in the lodge and especially the way they did it (I felt the fans deserved better, I knew it was going to happen but not that early and in that matter) but other than that I throughly enjoyed the first half of the game. However, the second half was a bit of a disappointment, why would I want to play as her! Especially for that long - 3 chapters! Tbf, the story for her was alright but the fact that it was her made it less enjoyable, it felt like the developers wanted you to like her even though she has done what she has done. My biggest flaw with the game has to be the ‘boss’ battle, why the **** did they kill that character like it was nothing and especially why did they make you fight Ellie as her! A total joke in my opinion, I want to kill her not try and kill Ellie, I did not enjoy that battle whatsoever. The epilogue was a bit redeeming, with a nice revenge story, but I think Ellie should’ve finished the job, as I don’t want a Last of Us 3 to be about her, she’s a character that maybe is supposed to symbolise Joel and Ellie, but for what she did i think she should’ve have been killed.

    Overall, I think the game is a solid 8/10, the scenery and gameplay is top notch and some character bonding is nice to see, but the story at parts lets the game down, especially the ending.    … Expand

    Great visuals, great combat, a challenging and intense experience for sure. The story itself has flaws definitely, but still, this game is worth checking.
    (P:s some of the reviewers are trolls, you can tell that by just their comments, so best thing to do is play the game for yourself rather than decide its quality based on some lowlife online. This is my best advice for everyone).

Gameplay, graphics and the voice actors really did a good job in making this game, so kudos to them, the writing however, SUCKS as the second game completely ruins the characters in the first game and we were forced to play as the killer who kills Joel for the HALF OF THE GAME, and then Ellie SPARES HER IN THE END when she already sacrificed so much just to get to her.

    This game is not The Last of Us 2, it doesn't have the right to be called The last of us, for me it's just a fanfiction badly written by the bad directors to push their political views through games.    … Expand

Противники их не замечают даже если те шныряют у них прямо перед носом. Особенно это касается людей. Зараженные еще хоть как-то воспринимают NPC рядом, а вот “псы” и “шрамы” далеко не всегда. Что мне понравилось? Мне понравился графон только есть одно но то что с лицами игровых персонажей проблема. Ещё мне понравилось новые механики, новое оружие, враги стали сильнее, новые заражённые и ещё у врагов появились собственные имена а у собак клички. Отвечу на вопрос покупать ли игру? Да!… Expand

    Before I will explain why I enjoyed this game, if you yourself didn't or would like to understand the hatred this game receives, there is something at the end of my review for you. (Also this is my first written review for anything so far. I hope you'll understand my point of view tho)

    The dialogs and cut scenes are beautifully crafted and the mo-cap acting is phenomenal. The big strength of the game is the first half in my opinion. Unfortunately I couldn't fully connect with Abby and her agenda in the second half of the game, but there are some key moments in this game that just make it beautiful. The story itself is very complex in its telling but the player never loses the thread. The gameplay itself is visceral with improved AI behavior and engaging combat encounters.

    I think the reason this game is either loved or hated is because this games makes you FEEL so much while playing it and leaves you rather empty at the end. Most of the time you don't "enjoy" the game, because it gives you the bitter taste of hatred the characters feel for each other (but in a good way, if that makes sense?). But there is a very strong contrast between love and hate in this game and this duality is beautiful in my opinion.

    In the end, wehter you liked or disliked the games, I think we all can an agree that the game made us feel something and moved us (in what sense is up to you).    … Expand
