    The Last of Us is one of my favorite video games in existence. I'll even take that a step further and say it's one of my favorite overall media experiences, including books, movies, games, and anything else aimed at entertainment.

    When I put the first game down, I was short of breath. Something huge had just happened, and I don't mean in-game.     When I put the first game down, I was short of breath. Something huge had just happened, and I don't mean in-game. I mean that I was changed, moved, and bettered as a person for having experienced it. This sounds like an exaggeration, and people don't often say these things about video games, but I believe it with every fiber of my being.

    Since that happened back in 2013, there have only been a handful of entertainment experiences that have affected me in such a way. There have been a couple episodes of certain TV shows, and a couple movies. There have even been a couple video games I'd say touched my heart in the same way, such as God of War. Today, in 2020, I can add another of these experiences to my list: The Last of Us Part II.

    I have never in my life been as disappointed as I am today, as I see the absolute travesty of a user review score on Metacritic for this game. The people involved in this game, in any way, do not deserve this. The reviews I'm reading are so outlandishly wrong that it's an absolute shame knowing that some potential future fans will be turned away by them. In my opinion, the low reviews are based on people who couldn't handle the emotional turmoil thrown their way. This game is not a game meant to make you feel good. It is there to shatter your heart into a thousand pieces. It is there to unravel the part of your being that makes you trustful and naive. It is there to force a harsh reality on you, and help you to understand that no reality is out of your control.

    I could go into the specifics of the game's content itself, but there are other reviews for that. I could explain that the stealth mechanics are slightly off, the combat situations are frustratingly difficult to read, and that there is more "cutscene" in this game than gameplay. You can create your own opinion on these things, but even despite them, this game is a 10/10 for me. It is the best video game I have ever played, and it is deserving of praise.

    Do not lose hope with the sea of negative reviews. These people are upset that the story didn't go the way they wanted it. They are upset because Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann took risks with their beloved characters to engage you in a deeply disturbing, yet rewarding narrative. I expected there to be backlash, but the response I've seen to this game is a complete betrayal of those who love stories that bring you real emotion, drama, and suspense.

    The Last of Us Part II is an incredible game, and an incredible experience. Do not miss out on this game just because of what you've heard from others. Do yourself a favor; see and experience it for yourself.    … Expand

    (No spoilers ahead) First off let me start by saying that i have avoided the internet and social media completely until after i finish my most anticipated singe player sequel of all time. The reason behind that is i like to experience music, movies, and video games my self no matter what other people think critics or not. So it all started about 3 months ago when the corona virus was(No spoilers ahead) First off let me start by saying that i have avoided the internet and social media completely until after i finish my most anticipated singe player sequel of all time. The reason behind that is i like to experience music, movies, and video games my self no matter what other people think critics or not. So it all started about 3 months ago when the corona virus was starting to get bad, i went to my local Gamestop and purchased a used PS4 , Days Gone, & The Last Of Us Remastered (Better late than never right). After completion of TLOUR, i had never experienced such a wide range of emotions from a video game it was a masterpiece!! (Days Gone was also fantastic) . Fast forward to today i find myself waiting at Gamestop first in line to pick up my preorder, i rush home to install what i hoped to be the greatest game of all time.

    i have cried, laughed, and had a minor heart attack all in the span of 6 hours, only scratching the surface of the game. The world is vast and stunning, constantly stopping to take pictures with my phone or stopping to take in the atmosphere and read every note or journal entry i find or exploring every inch of the game. This game does such a fantastic job of pulling you into the world and making you forget you have a controller in your hand.

    The combat system has been re worked to be more fluid and feel natural, stealth is also a great and fun option but not required depending on 1 of 5 difficulty levels you choose. The visuals are incredible even on my standard PS4, no visual errors, game breaking bugs, i haven't found anything that ruins immersion whatsoever . The new gunsmith/workbench feature is so much fun and looks so cool. The character animations & NPC AI are the best i have ever seen in a video game hands down, hell the environment is the best i have ever seen and only pulls you deeper into the world. The audio is out of this world from the in game music to the dynamic range of the enemies/environment , if you have surround sound headphones or a home theater system you are in for a treat (And you might Sh*t your self). Who ever created the in game user interface you are a genius, its just like the originals but still i had to give them some credit, cause its so easy to switch weapons or craft an item to quickly get back in the action.

    The story is fantastic so far and i know it wont disappoint at the end either, but that's all i'm going to say about that. If you are a causal or die hard fan of the original game i highly recommend you ignore the insane amount of trendy haters and experience what will with out a doubt go down as the greatest video game of all time even with all of the negativity. Please do yourself a favor and pick up a copy and support Naughty Dog. You can tell every single person at that studio poured their heart and soul into this game, i urge everyone to experience this amazing work of art. I am officially addicted and will probably play until the sun comes up, i haven't done that since the original Halo as a kid. (Sorry for long post but this game is incredible and i want at least one person who was skeptical to change their mind and fall in love just like i did) I hope you all have a good day thanks for reading!    … Expand

    Un muy buen juego, si bien no es el desenlace que uno hubiese esperado creo este juego apunta al realismo antes que ha satisfacer al jugador ya que no te da lo que quieres que pase pero esto le da un gran toque a la historia.

    The perfect continuation of the first game. Dynamic characters and relationships, great combat, beautiful graphics. This game is divisive, but is worth a play because the execution of the story is great. Part two is just as much of a masterpiece as the first game.

    Incluso a sabiendas de la campaña política que intenta promover el juego (Lo que no está nada mal) es una obra de arte, supera por mucho el primer titulo de Naughty Dog y es sin duda una experiencia que no olvidaré jamás, el bombing por parte de usuadios de sinexclusivosbox x no definirá la belleza de juego que es esto.

    Amazing game. People are mad because Ellie is gay and they think it is just a political move. But in the first game it clearly showed that Ellie was gay and they havnt changed anything to make it political. The story is nice, the gameplay is smooth, the graphics are good. I don't know know what else to expect from a game.

    The game is not for Marvel fans definitely. There are no good and bad people in the real world, it all comes to the perspective. Druckmann created a masterpiece, it's an emotions roller coaster.

    maybe this is the saddest game of all time, that push you to the darkest personality you have ever seen.
    the game will show you what revenge really is and what is mean when you get revenge like Abby or not and let it go like Ellie.
    but other than the story, the game play, graphic and... all of that is absolutely magical.

    The care for every small thing is something to be cheered, it's something else when you see your enemies calling for each others names desperately, giving them a deepness that I haven't seen before in a game.
    Also, the game had some gameplay improvements that took the experience to a whole new level. The new level design is also amazing, giving some exploring liberty to the player, making it much less linear than TLO1.
    This new structure give more power to the player, that has more strategy options on how he want to advance. There's also a really well thought system of abilities, and the choices you make will directly impact on how your gameplay will evolve.

    The particular choice the game makes halfway through the story, which made many people angry was absolutely vital to increase the impact of the narrative.

    The narrative: this is definitely the high point on this game. It's not made by easy choices and takes chances on making a new and groundbreaking experience. The directions taken here made this a much more mature and complex story that will leave all sort of questions in your head, There's no right and definitive answers and this is the beauty of it.

    I don't believe that there's such thing as a perfect game, but The Last of Us get as close as possible to this.    … Expand

    An incredibly worthy sequel to one of the best games ever. Try avoiding spoilers, they hold absolutely no value without the context of the game. Going in cold is very rewarding. The sound design, acting, graphics and animations are best in class and represent a great way to cap of the PS4 generation. A must-have game, especially if you liked the first one.

Naughty dog makes good games and aren’t afraid to take risks. This game proves that. They are a company that creates games for a beautiful story not to please people. You need to go into this game with an open mind because it is sad and people we live die. That is what makes this game awesome because the unexpected always happens. Who would have thought this company would put that scene into the first few hours of the game. I was speechless and hurt but I got over it and took my anger out on the infected and other humans. Overall a great game and people need to stop getting butt hurt when things don’t go planned.… Expand

It’s brutal, it’s real, it’s so gut wrenching. I cried when Joel got his head bashed in. I think the story is great so far. I really don’t get the hate.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I used to be the hater for this game after the spoilers leaking, i called it Garbage, The trash of us2... However, i recently ordered my PS4 Limited Edition TLOU2. I give the game a try, and after 2 hours of playing, I addicted to it. Seriously, the game is a masterpiece, the story is driven logically and matured. The main reason why people got mad because of Joel's death and How Ellie let Abby go after she killed everyone in her path to get to Abby. BUT, when you play it and try to understand the message, you will love the game so much. First, Abby doesn't know who Joel is, she doesn't bond with the man like US, the only thing she knows is that Joel killed her father. Therefore, that explains the way she tortures and smashes the golf club, especially the last hit when she has a flashback of her father's death. I am sure that MYSELF or YOU, especially in that post apocalypse world, would hunt anyone down if he or she kills our parent and give the killer the slowest death. Second, Ellie killed everyone to get to Abby. The point is Ellie barely sees the message " Revenge is a fool's game " after she killed Nora, then Owen, and Mel - a pregnant woman made her actually realize it. You can clearly see that in Ellie's eyes and her shakind hands, she wanted to stop. After coming back to the theater, she and Dina, Jesse, Tommy were already ready to go back Jackson and left everything behind. But Abby got to the theater and killed Jesse, which was understanable because Ellie and Tommy killed every single one of Abby's friends. Despite all that, Abby spared Dina because of Lev told her not to and also let both Dina and Ellie get away. After several years of setting down, Ellie still couldn't forget Joel's bloody smashed head. So she goes find Abby but not to REVENGE, but to find an ending. That explains why she didnt kill Abby when she had a flashback of emotional Joel sitting with the guitar. The ending is Ellie finally can let go of eveything. The only way to find peace is to forgive and let go. The last scene of the masterpicece, Ellie said she wanted to give it a try about forgiving Joel and Joel replied he would like that. In the end, they both did! A truly, deeply and matured story.… Expand

    The best game I have ever played. The story driven game I waited for for years with the best graphics I have ever seen on the PS4. The gameplay is great and takes little getting used to, the music is atmospheric and most of all, the storytelling is beautiful.
    I won't spoiler here, but get ready for an amazing game.

Of course, there are slips in the story (the game that you don't have, that throws the first stone) and maybe even a little sloppiness with a character, but I found the situation very justified for the whole development of the plot. The issue of homosexuality, so criticized by many, I see no problem, perhaps the person is TOO conservative or too prejudiced. As I said, this game will affect each person in a unique way, and I think it is too wrong to generalize in a negative way, and this applies to the end of the game, because I learned that there will always be several sides of the same situation, that is, maybe yours truth is not really the truth.
