    When I first played this game, I would have given it about a 7.5. The gameplay is amazing, and I enjoyed the story for the most part. The ending was what threw me off. However, after playing the game a second time I got it. The ending made so much more sense. I can now say that this is undoubtedly one of the most ambitious, and one of the best video games of all time. Anybody that ratedWhen I first played this game, I would have given it about a 7.5.     If the first game was a painting, this game would be like setting said painting on fire as a pretentious statement. It takes a dump on the game's history, and even if you ignore that, the story is just bad.
    Giving it two pity points because the visuals are pretty, but nowadays that alone does not make an exceptional game. Gameplay-wise, everything else is simply obsolete. Shameful.

    Game just amaze on all levels. Amazing how journalists can sell ratings. Not bad game with tons of problems somehow rated 10 of 10 and even 12 of 10 instantly.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game has lost a lot of what made it special, and part of it is "killing the main character idea" that I wish I could understand the motive by the developers.
    To be honest I think this will be the last game that I play from this franchise. I absolutely loved the first game, so much it brought mt to tears, but this one...brought me to tears in anger and shock right at the beginning when I discover they decided to kill the main protagonist.
    Make us play with the character that murdered him, etc...
    Just poor decisions on Naughty Dog's behalf and I know for a fact that if wasn't for "paid" reviews, this game would have been a lot worse than it is in terms of sales.
    Anyway this just demonstrates that you can't win all the time and to me this developer lost it's way and won't seem me purchasing any other game from them in the future.    … Expand

    Wow, just finished the game at around 33 hours and I'm left breathless. The raw unapologetic story telling and visceral characters is next to none. I was sceptical about the whole Abby and SJW aspect to it, and it is prominent but doesn't detract from this absolute masterpiece. 11/10

    - I want Ellie to be in Joel's house where Tommy will take her.
    - system of selection in key points, to implement variability of passage.
    - transport, that would player could manage them.
    - helicopter! To fix it and use it in a story.
    - a fraction of military scientists who would grow fungus in laboratory conditions to understand this phenomenon.
    - neutral factions of NPS with which could be agreed, and not kill each other when sorting for resources.
    - infected wild animals.
    - random events on locations between NPS that would affect the atmosphere. (Red dead redemption 2)
    - the Horde of the infected.
    - I want to scale, drama and light beam at the end of the tunnel.

    TLOU1 is one of the best games of all time. The devs of this one managed to **** on the grave of the first game. I understand that being 'edgy' and 'brave' makes the developers feel better about themselves, but it makes for a ****ty video game experience. The best part of this game were the flashbacks.     Masterpiece. I wasn’t sure I wanted a sequel, but they pulled it off. You have to understand in the first game that Joel is not a good guy but like everyone else a shade of grey. The consequences of this create a plot with huge depth; and those who claim a lack of respect for the character are missing the point that the whole game is about him.

Yes, Ellie didn't kill Abby, you may think she lost everything, but eventually, by saving Abby's life she breaks the cycle of violence and gets humanity.… Expand

    Great game if you liked the first, the story was solid in my opinion but never quite hit the high notes that the first game does. Still it was a nice to get a deeper insight to the way this world has developed and I think the story only servers purpose to that and the wider theme of the cycle of violence and revenge.

Our beloved characters get completely destroyed, Joel because he gets disgustingly killed and Ellie and Tommy because they become human scum. All to make Abby, the disgusting killer of Joel look great. Ellie murders dogs, Abby pets them and plays with them, Ellie Kills pregnant women, Abby Let's them live. It's so extremely obvious what the developers tried here. Love Abby and hate your old beloved characters. Absolutely disgusting. Joel's Death is the cheapest and just worst death i've ever experienced in a game. But the worst Part was that half of the game we are forced to play as Abby. You absolutely notice that this Game is Made to spit old Fans in theface. Never felt so **** playing a Video Game. Graphics are great, Sound ist top notch, gameplay is pretty improved compared to the First Game, but Overall it's a Bad experience. Can't recommend it to fans of the First Game. Naughty Dog should be absolutely ashamed. This franchise is dead now, at least for me.… Expand

Жму руку разработчикам за титанический труд, если они хотели угодить ЛГБТ, как некоторые выразились, то они сделали это в меньшей возможной мере, к тому же такой химии двух влюбленных девушек я ещё нигде не видел, это было очень мило и как по мне всё было крайне убедительно, актеры дубляжа и захвата движения постарались. Геймеры, сидящие на попе ровно, с кривой осанкой и не следящие за фигурой сразу же начали возникать "а шо это баба такая накаченная ээ, она чё трансы ыы" идут лесом, в постапоке я думаю лучше быть накаченным бойцом, чем клацать на джойстик, тем более её ведёт жажда мести за отца. На счёт мести Элли, она правильно сделала, что не убила Эбби, ей и так досталось (смерть отца, верных друзей, невинных дочки и мамы, рабство), если кто то после этого все равно хотел её убить, у вас не всё в порядке с головой. Ставлю 8 из 10, геймплей слишком нудный, бежать до кат-сцен и всё, лучше смотреть игрофильм. Если кто-то ожидал хеппи-энд, то вы конечно обосрались, все трейлеры были пронизаны безысходностью, насилием и несправедливостью, что нам и показали, эта игра не для умиления, а чтобы вы прочувствовали всю боль потерь и лишений, с которыми нам так или иначе предстоит столкнуться в этой жизни.… Expand

From technical perspective it is fine, nice animations, good picture in most places (except ligh in first town, when you can play snowballs it's terrible). The story seems to be intended to shock and it does. In first part that endless collecting for different thrash vas boring - not it is even more boring.     But the worst is when creators forces you yo play as an anthagonist, who you basically intended to hate. Unfortunately, there's no way to continue progressing the story, after you let Abby die in different ways, but it stopped me from continue playing after some fun letting her die.

Actually It has some Silent Hill 2 vibes for me, the camera filter, dark and destructed buildings, clickers are like nurses form SH2. The skyscraper and hospital levels are impressive. Gameplay mechanics are mostly the same as in the original TLOU, the shooting part became much better.     I just finished the game for the 2nd time NG+ , everything was as I expected: graphics 10/10, sound quality 10/10, music 10/10, gamplay 10/10 the new dodge button made the fights more interesting. And the problem comes on the story part, (story 8/10, character designed 4/10) there is a lot to say on this topic. This game is realistic for the world that it is set in, a brutal and broken world that is all about survival, and what it does to the people that live in it.

And the way you could plan every kill, by either throwing bricks to make some enemies go away from one specific or to plant mines to kill off the stronger enemies while you silently take out the others. From me sitting scared during the clickers. But, sadly the story did not have it in for me. The chemistry between the new and the old characters did not feel good at all. I believe that the story could have been way better if everything was in a different order, I felt that I did not care much to play as Abby at all since Ellies part left uss at a huge cliff-hanger so I kept thinking about that instead of actually caring. If we played Abby first maybe it would have been better since we would have gotten more attatched to her characters when we later on took them down as Ellie. If they could have put it all in a different order in my opinion this would have at least have been a 7 out of 10.… Expand

    Sad that such great games get underrated by people who didn't even play it.
    It takes around 30 hours to complete it and i beat the game on 22.06. Reviews before 22.06 is nonsense because it is not enough time to complete.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As someone who considers TLOU Part 1 to be one of my favorite games, I was eagerly anticipating Part 2. I did not read any spoilers prior to playing the game. Here are my humble thoughts...

    This game will chew you up and spit you out by the end of it. It is a slap to the face, on purpose. When Joel died so suddenly, without even being able to interact with him in game, I was shocked and puzzled, like many people. Luckily, throughout Ellie's side of the story, there are flashbacks to memories that she had with Joel in years prior. These helped me see that even though Joel was dead, he was still with us. Nevertheless, I hated Abby and her friends, and relished the chance to hunt them down and kill them for what they had done. Another slap to the face happens near the middle of the game, when you suddenly must play as Abby. I could tell that the game was trying to get me to like her and see things from her side, but I still hated her. I told myself I was not going to have empathy for her. However, that did not go as planned. This story is complex and multifaceted. I realized that Abby and Ellie were both justified in their paths to revenge and closure. There is no good vs evil, hero vs villain, right vs wrong. Abby's experience with two young Seraphites wakes her up to the reality that she has lost herself, and when given the chance to exact revenge on Ellie for killing her friends, she instead spares her life, for a second time. This breaks the cycle of revenge. When Ellie hunts her down once more in order to find her own closure, she cannot go through with killing her. We are left to question what we would have done in these tough situations... And we are left to question whether it was all worth it.

    Overall, it was an emotionally compelling and gripping story, coupled with game play so brutal it made me feel dirty and squeamish. It is something that I am grateful to have experienced.    … Expand

And the main characters are independent and don't worship a single guy. All that to say, there's several boys and men upset that gays exist and that girls might think for themselves sometimes.     After loving this game at first and fully defending it.. looking back I felt so gross when it ended, and have not replayed even though the combat is phenomenal. I was able to replay the first one so many times due to the gameplay AND story. This story just makes you feel gross.. like watching Requiem for a Dream.. but worse cause the story isn't as good.

Crouching in grass and going prone adds a lot, the different upgrade paths are great. As for the story, it’s hard for me to really say which I like better. They’re so different, Part 1 is a beautiful story about the growing relationship between Joel and Ellie. Part 2 is a beautifully told, yet heartbreaking, revenge tragedy.… Expand
