I've been waiting for this game for 7 years words can't describe how excited I was the first is my favourite game and within 2 hours they completely destroyed the build up, the characters and the story if joel died in any other way i would've been fine with it after building up ellie and Joel's relationship it ends after an argument she watches him die hes unable to help her for all he knew they were going to kill his brother and daughter figure next this is complete bs such a waste if money and after all that she let's his killer go? After killing hundreds of people to get to Abbie and she just lets her go? Not to mention we have to play as her! The person that killed the most important character and try to make us feel sorry for her also the gameplay is boring I've wasted hours just walking around and talking to side characters no one cares about and ellie is left without joel and cant even play guitar because she has fingers missing screw naughty dog they destroyed this franchise… Expand

    This game is an insult to fans of the original, while not improving, and sometimes removing the things that made the original so great.
    Pretty graphics alone do not make a good game. This is not a worthy sequel to Bruce Straley's work.

    Just finished playing. Was so terrible and prolonged that I had to force myself to continue just for the sake of hoping it got better. Hint: it didn't. Absolutely terrible afront to The Last of Us fans and an insult to the general community. Pushed political agendas (who tf thought this was a good idea!?) and horrible story-telling ruin the visuals. Deserved 0/10. Do not buy.

    With a stunning graphic make everything in the game look beautiful, interesting combat and craft system, great audio soundtrack and a heartbreaking story. Another masterpiece by Naughty Dog.

    Sometimes I just don't understand what people expect from games. Maybe because there is always less than 15 minutes of progress. Because the game slows down? In times of Call of Duty, Battlefield and other stuff, this doesn't suit everyone ...

    With The Last of Us Part II, finally a game with a great story. Great graphics and a game that doesn't force you to progress every 30 minutes. That is exactly what it is all about!

Ele nos mostra a importância de conhecer os dois lados da moeda. Que aquelas vidas que Joel tirou no primeiro jogo, especificamente no final, também tinha suas famílias, amigos etc. Nunca vi um jogo se aproximar tão real do que o ser humano pode se tornar, ou não.     Just finished the game! And I want to say, its something different! Its a visual treat! The gameplay is really engaging and better than previous one! The whole game is like a journey! The story is so good! I know the conclusion is decisive and people will have mixed reaction but the way they executed it, its mesmerizing! A Must Play!

    Es un juego que a nivel gráfico y en Gameplay sobresale sobre cualquier juego de los últimos años, mantiene mucho de la primer entrega pero puliendo y mejorando lo ya antes visto, a nivel de historia es diferente al primer juego entrega un sentimiento nuevo, donde ya el mundo está acostumbrado a los infectados y ya no buscan una cura, sino sobrevivir y adaptarse a como ahora es el mundo.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. un juego que cae en la inclusividad forzando un personaje trans y desprestigiando un personaje querido por todos, matándolo de una forma absurda que rompe con las bases que planteo en la primera entrega, como opinión personal cuando algo rompe o contradice lo planteado por si mismo todo lo que continuo carece de sentido y arruina todo lo demás, esto no puede ser aceptado en un juego que se basa en la narrativa ademas de lo inclusivo que trata de ser sin importar nada parece ser un juego feminista, lgtb y todas esas idea, duele mucho.
    si bien joel no era un personaje muy bueno no merecía morir de esa forma, no tengo idea de como es que aprobaron esa idea, el personaje inclusivo pudo ser aceptado de mala gana pero aceptado, el problema es que lo trataran de esa forma y trataron de darle mas valor haciendo que mate de una forma tan humillante a un personaje tan querido para mi arruinaron todo si bien visualmente y en base a la jugabiidad están bien, no siento que sea una secuela digna y pagar por algo mal echo no vale la pena seria incluso contraproducente por que las demás empresas pensaran que eso esta bien y tienen que hacerlo para sobresalir. Una decepción total ya que si lo vas a jugar por el mundo visual que ofrece te recomiendo mil veces jugar fallout o ahorrar ese dinero que tenias planeado para comprar el the last of us 2 esperar y comprar la siguiente entrega de the elder scrolls que presenta o presentara un mundo mucho mejor en base al disfrute del mismo en ves de comprar este que se supone que te tiene que dar una narrativa que disfrutes y te atraiga al final solo terminaras jugando con un ceño fruncido durante todo el tiempo molesto por lo que te presentaron mejor ahórrate esos problemas de enojo, monetario y para el hígado ( dependiendo de como seas jugando lo que si estarás molesto independientemente de como seas temperamentalmente). Como conslusion no te recomiendo para nada el juego no vale ni gratis y si ya tienes una copia mejor realiza un vídeo destruyéndolo y consigues mas disfrute ya sea ganando algo de dinero subiéndolo a una plataforma de vídeos o mostrando la destrucción del juego a tus amigos lo disfrutaras mas.    … Expand

However, all of that is nowhere to be found in the last of us part II except for a few instances, and so what is left is a game that is frustrating and unappealing. A game that makes the player feel bad for playing it. as the result the game becomes unplayable especially in the second half of the game!

    The graphics and gameplay are great and a step up from the previous game, but again I believe that the story is what made the first game incredible and it is same reason why this sequel sucks. I believe The story is ruined because of the choices the devs took but most importantly the execution of these choices!    … Expand

    Increíble, es el mejor juego que he jugado, narrativamente tiene mucha a su favor, fácilmente el mejor juego de PS4 y perdertelo será uno de los mayores errores de tu vida, no creas los 0 y 1 de los demás jugadores ardidos, tiene tanta filosofía que si eres capaz de entender lo valorarás tanto y apreciarás toda su verdadera historia.     I played for 8 hrs into this game an the story is written soo bad. There are some gimmicy control issue whihc could be fixed but the wrtiting is something that wont be ever be able to be fixed.

    The only way they could redeem themselves is by releasing the first part on PC.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After playing The Last of Us 2 I must say I’m left very conflicted when it comes to my thoughts on the game’s story. My major grievance with the story is that by the third act after Ellie leaves behind Dina and the baby the game essentially becomes misery porn where the character you cared for since the original game is left broken both physically and mentally with nothing to show for it. I’m not saying the story is necessarily bad but in my opinion it gets way too nihilistic in the end for its own good. I have always enjoyed dark stories and bitter sweet endings but this game goes overboard in that regard at the very end with a hopless and futile ending with no light having been on the other side which isn’t bad with a series that deals in that regard, but with the first Last of Us the dark tone was meant to be offset by bittersweet moments and small moments of light hearted comedy whereas this game abandons all hope and the style of story that made the predecessor a masterpiece in writing. Aside from the story. The gameplay, graphics, and voice acting is top notch. The Last of Us 2 is a technical marvel but with a very divisive story.… Expand

    La historia, les guste o no, está bien desarrollada, porque intenta ser realista, mostrar que el personaje que más usamos en el 1 muere de esa manera es hacernos caer a una realidad que, pese a ser un juego, hay cosas similares a la vida real. Mostrar el punto de vista de Abby es excelente también, ya que muestra el lado humano, ayuda a entender el porque de sus acciones y ayuda a crear una atmosfera diferente cuando les toca pelear a Abby y Ellie. No sentís que es Ellie contra la villana de turno, sentís que es una pelea entre dos personas que sufrieron bastante para llegar hasta ese punto. El final quizás es algo cuestionable, pero no deja de ser razonable, una Ellie que entiende los porqué de Abby y al final decide perdonarle la vida.
    En conclusión, un juego que intenta narrar una historia más realista, con dos enfoques diferentes de la narrativa. Gracias ND por no caer en el cliche de historia de venganza.    … Expand

Neil Druckmann should be fired for this massive failure of a sequel and the first massive failure of a playstation exclusive. I mean seriously who self inserts themselves into a game just to spit on joels dead body and then make the most hideous sex scene in history which is funny because sony seems to censor any other nudity in any game, devil may cry 5 for example. The fact that ellie just lets abby go after all the killing made the whole plot irrelevant and not worth the 20+ hours of gameplay. I really hope naughty dog gets rid of the loser because he will only cause them to lose money.… Expand

Joel died this way because it's a real world. Nothing happens like you want. Joel survived for so long and his death was heart breaking. Knowing that Ellie saw it breaks my heart even more. I was really confused when they made us play for Abby. I hated her for kiling Joel and didn't want to play as her character. But it showed us lives of other people. That sometimes people kill not because they want to. They driven by emothins and circumstances. I hate this part, but if ND wanted to show us this I'm okay with that. But I wanted to play more as Ellie. About ending. I hate it. Because it's sad and devastating. Ellie ended up alone. That's what she was scared of the most. And it happend. I hate it. About her don't killing Abby. As much as I hated her I knew Ellie not going to kill her. Abby maybe killed Joel but she spare Ellie's life two times. That have to count for something. This is really complicated story that reflect real world as it is . Harsh and Sad. There is no cure and people have to live like that their whole lives… Expand

I went through all kinds of emotions and I got what you are telling with this game. even if people don't like the story, I think we can all agree that the game is BEAUTIFUL. I mean really from a game's perspective, the graphics, the gameplay, the music... wow! naughty dog did it again!

    The story is very different from the first ones, but that's not a bad thing.
    This was one om the most moving and depressing stories.
    But in a very good way.
    I feel the story dragged just a little bit, when playing as Abby.
    But nowhere near enough to be a real problem.
    They did things in this game, I have never seen before in my gaming career, and made me feel things that a game has never made me feel before.
    I don't know yet if I liked this better than the first one, as the first game still has a very special place in my heart, but this is a worthy sequel.    … Expand

I understand why most people have a problem with this but I think they are just upset with Joel’s death so early on. However the rest of the game plays like normal and is pretty incredible, I don’t think there were any really touching moments like from the first game but some scenes were very well played out. As for the character design and development it wasn’t the best but was not anywhere near as bad as people are making it out to be. As for the ending I heard from a lot of people it wasn’t very good however I thought the ending was as good as it could be with the story they chose to tell and there is a lot of things to look into in the ending which give the story some actual meaning.
    Is this Naughty Dog’s strongest game? No.
    But it’s no where near as bad as the fans are making it out to be and is definitely worth playing if you keep an open mind.    … Expand

After the end of the last of us 1, we needed a continuation, which would show all of us what happened to the characters we liked so much, the game starts in a happy way and right after we have a dramatic scene, the death of joel the character we love and control in the last of us 1 is killed, bringing great anger and sadness, the same feelings that ellie feels, so the game after the prologue puts us in a situation where we want and seek revenge, we set out on an adventure with a single goal, to kill whoever killed the joel, in such a way that we feel like being ellie, we feel like she does, and then the game puts us in another vision, putting us to play with those we hate , leaving us with the fear that there is no wrong side, there are different sides of view, abby's campaign ends with a battle against ellie right after ellie's campaign stops, after the fight between the two, we turn to ellie later and story back to a cic revenge, so the game shows itself as a pure work of art with a beautiful story, wonderful graphics, a great stealthy slap, immersive gameplay, incredibly optimized gameplay and well-made and comfortable controls, with all my time and game, day that launched until 2 days later when I finished the game, my definition for him is "perfect", this game achieves the great feat of overcoming the first game, and if a great successor and that honors the great story of the first game, bringing a story as good as.… Expand

The game-play is really good survival-horror style action. Enemies are lethal and it'll always be better to avoid them than engage in direct combat. Resources are limited with ammo conservation being a major game play factor. Each of the characters also have very different tools that set them apart from each other. It can get somewhat repetitive at times but if you enjoy the game-play then it shouldn't be too much of an issue. The game also allows you to pace yourself. In one section of the game, as Ellie, You're taken off a linear path and given free reign to explore a region of Seattle. If you find the game play boring, The game allows you to reduce the number of encounters by rushing to your goal. But taking the time to explore the amazing environments allows to find rewards that you may have missed otherwise. There's also a robust suite of accessibility and difficulty options if you want to breeze through encounters to get to the story.

    The story takes a bold risk with the death of Joel. It plants its focus solely on Ellie, and later, takes a deep look into the character and history of Abby. This isn't to say that the story doesn't show the father-daughter relationship moments that many fans were hoping for, but they're regulated to flashbacks as Joel dies early in the game. The story isn't bad as it deeply explores the characters and their relationships. It even pulls away from a pivotal moment for a ten-hour detour to explore the antagonist. People who wanted the father-daughter journey from the first game will be disappointed, but those who can appreciate the new direction of the game will most likely enjoy it. The ending, while good and moving, doesn't deliver the cathartic revenge that many are looking for.    … Expand

    Masterpiece. I tend to agree that there a lot of female characters and it was difficult for me to associate myself with them. No matter, I spent 26 hours with no stops and it was immersive as hell. Art design is insane. I would prefer to see those games instead of fortnite-like, but sadly, other rewievers, who give this game 0-5 score, probably want to see only fortnite in future.

The game goes above and beyond the first setting a new standard in the games industry just as the first did in 2013. The game is so well written, the story is complex and pulls on your heartstrings throughout, making for one of the most compelling stories to ever be written. The gameplay is fluid and feels like a true survival game. The game has been receiving a lot of bad reviews from players that believe Naughty Dog has destroyed the franchise by killing off one of the main characters but in all honesty it was always inevitable and the way it was written made me feel the anger and sadness Ellie did making me want to push on and get revenge. The game has the best graphics I have seen in video games. Overall this game is the best I have ever played, definitely play the Last of Us Part 1 before playing this game as it is imperative for the storyline.… Expand

Having actually purchased and just a couple hours ago finished the game I can say it is a truly interesting story, no it wasn’t a ‘fun’ game, it tells a horrible story, of loss, revenge, grief, trauma. It forces you to evaluate good and bad, no one person, organisation, or community in the game can be defined as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ this games gives you perspective into that and allows you to see that the world of the last of us isn’t black and white, it’s complex, and blurry. In video games your version of what happens is always subjective, if you really had a think about it in almost any video game you might realise that that fictional character you just killed had a family. The last of us confronts that fact, shows the other sides to the key players in the game and ultimately allows you to empathise with them. A quote I love from the book Ender’s Game applies here. "In the moment when I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to defeat him, then in that very moment I also love him. I think it's impossible to really understand somebody, what they want, what they believe, and not love them the way they love themselves.”… Expand

    I really liked the first one. But not so much for the game play. It's one of those games where you really liked the characters and the story. So in the second one they messed up the characters, made the story trash, and kept the same sub par gameplay. I just thought the game was ok at best
