    Such a great game, The only criticism that can be made in my opinion is about how bold the story is. I believe that Tha last of Us 2 is like wearing glasses, you’ll only know if you actually like it if you try it yourself. And mine fitted perfectly. Congrats to naughty dog

    2020 has been a **** year and Last Of Us Part 2 is one of the **** thing, next to Covid-19. Well, at least Covid didnt make players waiting for 7 years for some kind poor narration and out of place storyline. Neil **** is China. And ND's LOS Part 2 is the worst version of Covid 19.

    The ending was pretty crappy and the Abby gameplay was not for me but it was definitely an amazing game. The graphics and motion captures were phenomenal, highly recommended game

I finally finished completing this stupid, depressing and disappointing of a game and I regret pre ordering this game and buying it even on deluxe edition, the storyline is just garbage, your favorite character in this game dies by the same person you spend most of the time playing as her, Abby, I hated every second playing as that annoying character, the game tries so hard to have some sort of sympathy for her for killing Joel by letting us play as her for 12 hour+ or something, if I knew that I would be wasting a lot of my time playing as her I wouldn’t have bought the game. Also you can’t avenge his death even after all Ellie’s been through. Hell, the ending itself is even more disappointing than the whole plot. I rate this game 2/10 just because of the flashback moments during the playthrough.… Expand

    Amazing graphics, and incredibly intricate animations. The art and sound teams did an amazing job. The gameplay programmers did a pretty good job also.

    But we loved TLOU1 for the story and characters, and the sequel completely and irreparably drops the ball. Storytelling is about that pendulum swinging back between highs and lows, and this game is just all lows/negatives. The characters    Amazing graphics, and incredibly intricate animations.     But we loved TLOU1 for the story and characters, and the sequel completely and irreparably drops the ball. Storytelling is about that pendulum swinging back between highs and lows, and this game is just all lows/negatives. The characters are completely different from how they acted, and you'll only watch them suffer relentlessly before being forced to accept a new character that is written so poorly i barely could finish the last 8 hours of the game.

    Good gameplay, excellent graphics, beautiful design, awesome... but the story and how it is tell is a little bit disappointing, i wish i could play with other characters of the original story. Joel and Ellie will be forever loved in the video game industry.

    Best game of 2020 no doubt. The ones who are giving it a negative are 1. The people who bought the game due to it looking popular among the gaming community as they knew nothing about the game. 2. They just hate single player campaigns and not a last of us fan.

    It's a 25-30 hours game + 10 hours of cut scenes. This game had some VERY intense game play and jump scares. But nothing beats the deep story and messages in it. I loved every minute of it. Any fan of brutal fun extreme violence will have a blast playing this. Definitely not meant for children or people with low IQ.

    The last of us part 2 is a stunning looking game. The gameplay is the same gameplay from the last game which is not a bad thing. The set pieces and the whole is fun to explore. The first 10-15 hours of the story is fantastic but when the game makes you play as Abby is when the game falls short. I understand where they were going with the story but I wish we could play as Ellie more. It’s aThe last of us part 2 is a stunning looking game.     O jogo vem com alguns bugs, mas nada que atrapalhe a grande jornada que o jogo proporciona, algo incrível e mágico, porém trágico, faz o jogador ficar entre a cerca entre gostar de X ou Y, e com um final que deixa qualquer um de boca aberta, espetacular, ao nível Naughty Dog de trabalho.

    It feels as though Naughty Dog has let me down. I've been a fan of their work for years. But this game has a poor narrative, kills of beloved characters, and leaves you with an empty feeling inside. They sacrificed a great game story for cheap shock value and it has ruined this game. What a shame.

For the most part I can’t forgive Abby for killing Joel, but I could still get interested by her side of the story. Ellie’s was simply amazing, this story of revenge eventually overcome by the forgiveness she had begun to give Joel was a great way to wrap things up. And the epilogue was a sad, yet realistic way to wrap it up… Expand

When I played the first game I was very unimpressed until I reached Jackson midway through the game. I noticed the bond between Joel and Ellie and was bewildered by the attention to detail. No other zombie game really pays close attention to how an event like a zombie apocalypse can change a like-minded individual. Joel kills so many people before and during the events of the game it's ridiculous and it's all capped off by one of the best endings to any game. The Last of Us 2 is not as good as the first that's just not something it can be. It is however a very innovative game when it comes to the portrayal of enemies and the gore effects. It also nails the story I could really care less if you agree with me. Joel's death was an inevitability as one of the patrols his job is to kill all infected on his route and to identify and trade with other groups to keep Jackson thriving. When he and Tommy meet Abby they are forced to trust her and retreat to her camp because of the horde. As said earlier Joel killed a lot of people and it was only a matter of time before he crossed someone and when he did it wasn't going to be pretty. I say these things because common complaints are that Joel should have known better or he should've had a heroes death but there is no such thing in The Last of Us. Joel's death affected me probably the exact way it was supposed to. I've never been so onboard for revenge I remembered the people who did that to Joel and they were always looming I'd always hope I'd be running into them soon. Once I got to the Abby story line I was about as upset as everyone else I got to the chapter ground zero and took a break for a couple days and came back fresh. I finished Abby's storyline and as much as it's presence in the story is a blemish on the game the 2nd half is far better than the first half. What I would have done with the Abby story is make it an optional campaign upon finishing the game sort of like separate ways from resident evil 4. The end leaves something to be desired but I think it's fine. Please don't review bomb this game just play it if you feel like playing it and give it the score you would actually give it. Review bombers are a plague on the entire gaming community and makes it very difficult for some people to find a resource for whether they should buy a game or not and undermines everything the devs worked on (yes the ones who were on crunch to bring you the game as fast as possible). Before you say "0/10 is my score for the game" this game isn't a 0/10 not by a long shot games like Big Rigs, Ride to Hell or Rambo are games worthy of that score.

With Of all this quarantine and covid 19 we really need something we feel good at and happy, but this a complete the opposite, you wont feel good with the story, the transgender stuff i dont care, it make more realistic, but if you kill the main character just like that doesnt justify it, give him death at least he dies for ellie, or cut his legs and give other character a try, something like that at least if you messed up, Joel is still alive you can do it right on last of us 3, and we didnt have the satisfaction to avenge joel at the end.. Comon ND have some heart, we or i am more attached to Joel than you think. Amd the worse part there were no closure from Ellie and Joel.… Expand

The story being told here is one some may feel unnecessary after the pretty definitive ending of the first, however The Last of Us Part 2 makes itself feel very necessary with the simplistic story idea but the twists and turns it gives you with its 25 hour campaign. I would like to address the leaks as that is a major cause of the review bombing on this site (along with homophobes, transphobia, and those who believe Naughty Dog has some liberal agenda). A majority of the leaks happen very early on, and the cutscenes are taken very much so out of context. Playing through this game, Naughty Dog concocts a rich story and rich characters. Joel and Ellie aren’t how you remember them, they’ve changed for better or for worse. Joel has grown trusting and loving, Ellie, has grown more stubborn and angsty. Both of these things feel extremely natural after the ending of the first game. Many critique Joels death for him being too trusting of Abby but after the ending of the last game you get a good sense of Joel’s change. As for Abby being a playable character, having heard the leaks I was unsure of this. Playing the character who kills a beloved character? That sounds awful! But Naughty Dog does this amazingly well. You get a fantastic sense of Abby as a character and her motivation through flashbacks and the other characters she interacts with. Specifically everything with Yara and Lev were great for Abbys character and helping me like and understand her. The Yara and Lev plotline reminded me a lot of Joel and Ellie from the first game honestly. Ellie is ruthless in this game. Every action has consequences thanks to Naughty Dogs AI interactions. Screaming the names of other enemy AI or the enemy AI screaming in pain as the color drains from their eyes. It’s brutally fantastic and makes you as a player feel horrible. I loved it! It made me feel Ellie’s character arc even more. Many have said they felt unsatisfied by not killing Abby at the end and to that I say the message of the game was never truly revenge, rather learning revenge isn’t the right answer. Abby struggles and so does Ellie. They have a very similar journey. Naughty Dog has proven to be an innovator in story telling with every game they make. This is a masterpiece honestly. Do not listen to the review bombs. The fact that how many critics gave this such good reviews should say something. This game has a story that needs to be told. It’s heart breaking, uplifting and goddamn, Future Days by Pearl Jam will forever make me cry. The Last of Us Part 2 is a masterpiece in video game storytelling.… Expand

Nunca había visto necesario hablar sobre un juego en este tipo de páginas llenas de odio y de fanatismo, pero verdaderamente esta vez lo necesito.. Hay una campaña brutal contra este videojuego por su política, que puede ser más o menos forzada, pero eso no afecta a nada de la experiencia. Sin embargo no puedo soportar tampoco las opiniones que dicen lo perfecto y maravilloso que es el juego tapando las tremendas carencias. Este juego es un 10 en prácticamente todos sus aspectos. Los escenarios son impecables, al igual que su ambientación, mecánicas y todo lo relacionado con aspectos técnicos, esta generación no puede aportar un juego mejor en ese aspecto. El problema viene con la historia, y a partir de aquí hay spoilers.

    Olvidemos que hay lesbianas, olvidemos que muere Joel, olvidemos que prácticamente todos los colectivo quedan representados, porque esto no hace peor o mejor la historia. Vamos a que este juego te tiene 10 horas detrás de un personaje para matarlo, que después te meten 6 horas para ver si te encariñarse con él, y que luego cuando ya estas muerto de soportar que te digan lo malo que es matar mientras te obligan a matar a todo lo que se mueve te dejan un supuesto final en el Teatro donde Abby perdona la vida a Ellie. Aquí parece que todo va a terminar, te puede gustar más o menos, pero parece un cierre aceptable, ambos personajes por su camino y la lección de que la venganza no es buena, mata el alma y la envenena. PUES EN ESTE MOMENTO A ALGUIEN LE PARECIÓ BIEN METERTE OTRAS 2 HORAS DEL MISMO GAMEPLAY MATANDO MÁS GENTE DESPUÉS DE DECIR LO MAL QUE ESTÁ MATAR. Pero obviando esta tontería, obligas a un jugador cansado a seguir sin poder decidir. Te lleva a una escena grotesca en la que tu rival no quiere pelear, y en lugar de dejarte elegir, para que si no quieres matarla te ahorres perder el tiempo, o si quieres matarla pues pelees y la mates, te obligan a pelear para no matarla y cerrar más de 20 horas de juego con la sensación de haber perdido el tiempo.

    Este juego es una maravilla en todo lo técnico, los que le dan un suspenso simplemente mienten. Pero quiere decir tantas cosas, que genera una historia larga que termina quemando y desesperando al jugador. Su moraleja es que matar tiene consecuencias, y que una vida no debe quitarse sin más, pero no te dan opción de noquear a un enemigo cuando lo tienes inmovilizado, te obliga a matar. Este juego quiere que sepas que la venganza solo trae desgracia, pero te hace estar 20 putas horas sin opción, mientras te intenta vender que Abby no es mala, pero ella se venga y al final acaba bien. El juego no merece bajar del notable porque técnicamente no se puede dar más, pero es un juego que te va a dejar quemado y molesto como intentes entender la historia, ya que al ser tan larga, se pierde en su propia idea.    … Expand

    Nice gameplay and graphics but the game sucked overall. A wasted effort. Someone has to remake it from scratch.

    Game is amazing, there’s no way so many people hated this game within a short amount of time the game was released. People probably didn’t even play the game and if they did they don’t know what a story is.

    The way the story plays out from the get-go is COMPLETE TRASH! I was deceived by the game trailers. Thought this game would be a great amazing strory driven game. Nothing like the first TLOU.

    This is a great game, I don’t understand why people give it a 0/10... The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is really fun. The AI has been improved compared to the first one. I liked the story. It’s original, not only a typical revenge story. When we play as Abby, we can experience an other point of view.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. No game is perfect (except for Red Dead 2), but this one is pretty good. Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us 1 were better, though. This one kind’a feels like pure torture porn and was a real downer; could have done with some comedic relief if they didn’t kill off all the likable characters just as they started to get interesting. Looking at you, Jesse.

    Overall, pretty good game. Story kept me interested and had me attempting to understand characters’ mindsets and why they were doing the things they were doing. Which, nowadays, is pretty rare. Most games just have a bad guy who is the bad guy and you don’t really have to think about anything else except for how you were going to kill them and how many more fights it would take to get to the next boss fight or cool cutscene. Gameplay was tense and engaging, which is always nice, and it never really got old for me as I was playing on really hard difficulties where I was basically fighting bros with a pair of pampers diapers stuffed inside a bottle of vodka with only a single bullet in my **** starter pistol.

    I know some of the **** that goes down really sucks, boys, but that shouldn’t mean the game is a 0. I’ve played 100+ games on my ps4 (I have pc, xbox 360, one, and switch) alone, and I don’t think I’ve ever played a game that was a zero. Like, c’mon guys, let’s be rational. If an 8 is an 80% or a B in the American education system, then that is what I’m giving this game. I dunno, thought it was fun. Hopefully you can respect my opinion and I’ll respect yours in return. Just wish everybody could get along, I guess. Makes me sad seeing us all divided over this in such a chaotic time. But, yeah, the people that are saying this game is life-altering or that it’s some sort of profound piece of art need to shut up as it’s really cringey. Yeah, I found it to be an interesting dive into the mindsets of two characters parallel to one another as well as the themes of revenge not being worth it in the end. And, yes, I did find that it tied in with the real world and connected to me on a personal level, as I think everyone has wanted to get back at someone for something but then realized it would be futile on the end. So, yeah, it gave me a new perspective on the idea of revenge, but it’s not like it’s some life-altering piece of art, man. This is a game where you punch mushroom people in the face, it’s not that deep.

I cannot recommend this game to anyone unless you want it purely for the gameplay or have not played the first one. It’s darker than the first, but I feel the creators do a fair job of portraying Ellie’s continued development in a harsh world. I like that she seems affected by the choices she makes in a way that game creators often gloss over. And although I don’t always find myself agreeing with her choices - in fact there are moments where I was opposed to her decision-making - I understand why she does what she does, and I like being challenged as a player to play as a character that isn’t acting like a cut-and-dry “good guy” from jump.
    I also really appreciate the introduction of the character of Abby, who serves as sort of a foil to Ellie as the game progresses. It’s not a light game by any means, but I think it’s a good exploration of how cyclical revenge can be and its long-term ramifications. If you’re in it to dive into a story, then it’s the game for you. If you’re strictly looking to have fun from a mechanical standpoint, you’ll probably enjoy playing a different shooter more.    … Expand

    With that expectation I waited for the second and I did not spoil myself of anything (serious error).
    Had I known they would spit in the faces of lovers of the former, I would never have bought this insult to such a masterpiece.
    I am not bothered by Ellie's homosexual relationship (what's more, I think he makes a beautiful couple with Dina), I am not affected at all by the Trans character of Lev, nor the constant grievances towards the figure of "man" itself. What did destroy me psychologically (I had to lend the PS4 because I hated controlling a sadistic assassin) was the horrible narrative and its disastrous ending.
    I can't believe the thousands of mistakes they made in creating this. Not even Star Wars or Terminator Dark Fate left me with a pain in my heart and mind as broken as you are.
    They lost a fan and emotionally damaged me. Until always Naughty Dog. You died for me the same way you killed Joel.

I saw the leaks, I understand why the plot upset some fans. I was pissed about happened to Joel.. but understand this. The Last of Us series is a story; A compelling, gripping, emotional story and man did this game deliver that. The relationship that Abby and Ellie shared was remarkable, the similarities undeniable and the frustration, passion and revenge that Ellie sought for Joel's demise is POWERFUL. It is a very unfriendly game narratively and makes a fair half of its players want to quit and watch the ending from Youtube, and I totally understand why. The pacing is very off which you could view as a massive mistake or conscious decision to make the player feel bad (which it does). But when looking back at the story as a whole, it starts to make sense and has so much great stuff in it most people can't see through their rage which is caused by some bold moves from the directors. The problem is that because of the pacing, player's interest drops too quickly. And from a game so reliant on a good story, this game really missed some points there. Good story but executed in a weirdly manner.
    Gameplay is very good, although the enemy AI is quite dumb and makes killing them way too easy. The graphics can't probably get any better with ps4.    … Expand

Este videojuego tiene las mecanicas,jugabilidad y graficos geniales pero la historia que realmente importa lo hicieron horrible, primero matan a joel muy estupidamente, luego controlamos a ellie hasta la mitad del jugo pero la otra mitad la jugamos von abby la que mato a joel aqui intentan que nos empatizemos con ella pero no sirve de nada eso, tuvieron que poner solo el flashback de lo que motivo a abby a matar a joel y el final de lo peor, ellie mata a demasieda gente inocente, perros, scars que no tuvieron nada que ver con su venganza, pero cuanfo esta cara a cara con la que realmente mato a joel, no la mata y al final abby termina huyendo con el niño y ellie qurda sola sin un par de dedos y sin poder tocar la guitarra

Yes, its nice to watch and listen this game, gameplay hasnt changed much, but story is so bad that I hated to play it. Why would I want to play as Abby? Neil Druckman said they idea of playing for someone else instead of Joel or Ellie is bad and here we are. I dont want to play for Abby half of the game which kills Joel, who saved her life before in the game and then watch Joel and Tommy doing dumb decision´s like offering WLF to visit Jackson to restock and resupply :D Joel recognize trap in the original game and now he is blind? It´s sad. I will pretend that TLOU2 didnt happen and everything ended how it was supposed to in the original game.… Expand

    The characters' decisions and motivation are well justified. The story poses one of the most debated philosophical questions, "Would you sacrifice fewer human souls to save many other souls?" This not good against evil. This is two good sides acting from different perspectives. You cannot choose a side because both are right in their own way. Therefore the ending is difficult to predict.     The second part of the game is more of a rushed one so the characters were not that emotionally attached that's why the climax didn't feel like as it was intended by the developer.

    Although this is a open world game but the gameplay doesn't feel like one as it's so much engraved into the story telling and that's why scavenging for supplies at the nearby buildings doesn't played out that well. It would be better if those weapons upgrades were on the main story path and the game gave more time on developing the character(on the second half) emotionally.    … Expand

I think a lot of the people who dislike this game have played for an hour up until Joel's death and then get a refund. You have to play the full game in order to empathize with Abby's character. They took a massive character trait, Joel not trusting anyone, and just said “Ehhhhh. He’d trust these teenagers he just met a second ago with no second questions.” Also his death scene is literally just torture porn and shock value which was a disappointing send off for a main character. And naughty dog is full of hypocrites who will **** and moan about “realistic proportions in female body types” but then go and make their ‘main character’ the size of a linebacker with the body type to match. Physically impossible for a girl in a post apocalyptic world to build that much muscle mass, let alone find the time and nutrients to maintain it. I’m literally infuriated that I avoided the leaks, I would’ve had better entertainment if I had just burned the money in front of myself. Good graphics tho, really saw the blood splatter on the golf club… Expand

    Im from Russia, so sorry me for my English, im only listen and read English, never talk or write. And i never wrote on this site and never rate this.

    All game, every part it is something that everybody who loves game industry should try. All part of this game is Masterpiece, and only part which is debatable it is story. For me story work great. I have opinion that LGBT theme is redundant, but im waiting more propaganda about it, but in game it almost doesn't matter. Story great take us to the revenge theme, then show us other side of conflict which after Ellie path looks more like HUMAN being, then push it together in conflict. And all it by master storytelling. Moment when main character fighting im wanted to throw game pad away just for stop this, i even trying to miss QTE. I cant explain all my feeling in english, but its have so many moment when i have thinking about this game, about revenge, friends, enemies, life at all. I think this is great story with great directing.

    And if somebody dont like story, its really mean 0 as rate this game? all this animation, locations, sounds, gameplay, voice acting doesnt mean nothing? im so confusing by all this hate. I can understand rate 5-6, okay 4, but lower its insane for me.

    Often people hear talk about part I, im a big fan of TLOU part I, this is first game that affect on my by so special way. And for me story at first game more simple, more "one-sided", and more "
    straightforward". So im also cant understand people who talk about first story like it something unique, but this is poor **** whats wrong with you? What are you waiting? New journey Ellie and Joel? for this play part I, this is new experience in this awesome universe.

    While Im playing i was not 100% deal with story, and fell some disappoint too, but after end scene and little time with thoughts about it im understand that story is such as it should be.

    Mediocre gameplay.
    Atrocious story. Corrupt developer/publisher. I've seen better storytelling in fanfiction, the devs dealings with the leaks were incredibly childish and petty, if not illegal, but hey this game got some pretty good gore if your into that sort of thing. I recommend this game to folks who like in-depth gore systems if they can stomach the    Incredible graphics.
    Mediocre gameplay.

    I recommend this game to folks who like in-depth gore systems if they can stomach the horrible storytelling. Gameplay is serviceable but nothing extraordinary.

    For games with a similiar plot, similiar to better gameplay, and better writing, I recommend the following:

While a solid game in terms of change from the first, the introduction of a new character into the mix was not expected nor in my opinion necessary. When we first meet Abby in the beginning of the game, we are immediately informed why she’s in Jackson. It’s to kill Joel. As a fan of the first game, I was not ok with this but I understood why someone would seek revenge for the murder of a loved one. Abby succeeds in her mission and this is my first complaint with the game. The way Joel was killed did not vibe with me very well. Him telling Abbys group his real name is something he would never do. His death puts Ellie on the war
    path for revenge and makes her almost unlikeable in the way she goes about seeking revenge by murdering a ton of people and dogs along the way made her seem unlikeable. When the game changes to Abby halfway through and tries to make her relatable. In my eyes it fails. What she did to Joel is completely unforgivable. I don’t care what Joel did. Overall, the mechanics were great though because it added new things like going prone and tall grass to hide in and as Ellie an unbreakable shiv in her knife. Which was awesome. The ending was absolute garbage. Will most likely not play again.    … Expand

    What a masterpiece! It was overall a very sad game but no story has made me more attached to a character than this game. It is a must-play game.

    Look. People who are giving this game bad reviews are definitely people who haven't even bothered to play the game. Or people who just aren't hardcore fans of the first one like I am. But I can assure you that this game is a masterpiece. Sure it has its flaws like having to play as Abby for a majority of the game wasn't something I liked at first, but she grew on me. But just seeing EllieLook. People who are giving this game bad reviews are definitely people who haven't even bothered to play the game. Or people who just aren't hardcore fans of the first one like I am. But I can assure you that this game is a masterpiece. Sure it has its flaws like having to play as Abby for a majority of the game wasn't something I liked at first, but she grew on me. But just seeing Ellie again and gameplay is very fun and brutal!     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
