    You massacred our beloved game , the only good thing in this part is gameplay and to be honest if i wanted stealth and action i would have gone for any other rpg game , on the other hand story is no way near the original and i can't relate why this is even called the last of us , I waited 7 years and that's how u ruin your franchise just to sell some politics ... Such a shame

    Excellent graphics, music and voice-acting. Unfortunately the story, characater development en the ending were all a huge disappointment. They made characters unlikable in ways that made the story feel worse.

    Again: excellent graphics, music and va, but I would not recommend anyone to buy this as the overall game was a very big downgrade from TLOU1

    The game reuses every aspect of the gameplay from the previous entry and fails to innovate in the story department, making previously loved characters unlikable and shows a lack of passion.
    I wish I could delete this game from my memory.

    Otherwise I have nothing to say about the unbelievebly gullible,childish and juvenile story that some f may call it "bold and revolutionary"
    I mean if cd project red decided to turn geralt gay there'd be some serious problems. But YOU did that with one of your best and loved caracters. GJ naughty dog and thanks for this ever    3 out of 10 just for the sake of decent gameplay and graphics.

    I couldn’t believe that Naughty Dog could go from having a game so highly revered as The Last of Us 1 with it’s beautiful story of Joel and Ellie, and go straight down into the dumpster fire of TLoU 2. They single handedly ruined their franchise’s best characters and completely destroyed the goodwill they had from their fans. I had such high hopes for this games since I loved the first oneI couldn’t believe that Naughty Dog could go from having a game so highly revered as The Last of Us 1 with it’s beautiful story of Joel and Ellie, and go straight down into the dumpster fire of TLoU 2.     The Last of Us part 2 is a horrible sequel, without any respect to his successor.
    Sound design and Soundtrack: 8/10
    The sound quality is amazing literally every sound was perfectly recorded an designed for this game and is the same with the soundtrack that is beautiful.
    Graphics: 10/10
    the graphics are beautifully detailed, you think most of the things are real. their worlds are broad and incredibly detailed, but still good graphics and maps don't always make a good game as I'm going to say below.
    Gameplay: 4/10
    By the part of the Gameplay it's incredibly boring and repetitive, like i didn't believe that Neil Druckman found a way to remove the word fun on this entire game, literally it's the same mechanics from the previous game but it didn't add any new mechanics to make this game more interesting and advanced. Also the level design is terrible, naughty dog was knowed because of their multiple and funny game designs, but in this ones it's just the same thing over and over again, like it's just walk a lot of time, a cutscene happens, passes the whole level stealthily and again another cutscene to finish the level and thats it just the same thing over and over again.

    Probally this is the most problematic and controversial about all this game, especially after the leaks and Neil Druckman Comments about th people whos are giving their opinion, but i have to say that this is the most horrible story made in the gaming community ever. It was like Minecraft Story Mode and Pokemon Sword and Shield fused and this was the result. The story is basically the tipic revenge story but its horribly executed, like the player is forced to agree that "the revenge is evil for the soul" forcing moments like Ellie kill a pregnant woman and a dog because of revenge and homewer you continue just to reach your objective, almost kill it, but the you stop because Ellie sufered a epiphany and realised that revenge is bad... sorry but what?! Like you literally killed a lot of people that dosent matters just to spare the one who actually matters just when you are killing her? it dosent make any sence. Other problem are the characters, especially the original ones from the previous game, like Joel, a expert survivor with 25 years of experience that knows every kind of trap and killed thousands of man because of a girl, just to be killed by unknow armed people who he saved, bruh and Ellie a sweet girl but rough girl that continues learning from her mistakes, to became just a lunatic that is angry with everyone, seriously. The new characters are hateble, especially Abby, that she is poorly writen, they just made a "tragic" backstory for her just to the player to like her, but you can never to empathize with her even more after she killed a loved character like a rat. And the most problematic part is the forced inclusivity, i mean i have no problem that a character is gay, trans, black, fat or whaterver they want but i dont want that part of that character be important on the story, but homewer they do that here with the Abby story and Abby is not the transgender the actuall transgender is just a random kid thats is literally "Ellie 2.0" of Abby, that he is running of Crazy CHRISTIAN HOMOPHOBIC and TRANSPHOBIC cult, yeah that, forcing yo the player to fight agaist them as Abby.
    I will gives this game a 3/10 and that is just because of the graphics, sound quality and the soundtrack.

    No matter if the story didn't go the course we expected, it's still a masterpiece in concept. Also, its graphics, sound design and characters are all captivating, so there's no denying that it deserves the attention it gets

    This game's story is a great way of showing how to kill an IP. Making a sequel for SJWs who won't even play the game & spitting in the face of the already established fanbase from the original is a mind boggling move.

    And the probably biggest issue is the Story. I dont care about the SJW stuff. I dont care about black characters, homosexual, bisexual, or whatever sexuality the character has. BUT I care about logical motivation. There is a lot of illogocal actions. the motivation is a little bit understandable, but the forced subverting the expectations, just to shock the player. subverting the expectations DOES NOT mean good storytelling. they also forced another character in the spotlight, which doesnt work just because of the prequel. If you want to tell such a story, start a brand new story with cameos from the the prequel character.

    and still 1 point for the gameplay because i dont dislike it, but its a disapointment. they could made it so much better

    unluckily when your game doesnt offer much except mediocre gameplay you must have your strength in storytelling, and in TLOU 2 offers a very weak, disappointing, forced story.

    I wished i would like it. Naughty dog was besides CD project red one of the developers i always trusted with a high quality product. but now i am disappointed and sad. I hope i dont get disappointed by CD Project red later this year.    … Expand

    I had this game on pre-order for 2 years. The first game is one of my favourite games of all time. THIS IS NOT THE LAST OF US. It plays like a last of us fan fiction, by someone who was trying to ruin every character in the game.

The main character of the first game is completely dismantled and re-written as a garbage person, they made up a contrived way to kill him off, then you play as his murderer. The cast of this game is completely forgettable, dies fast and 10 hours later the game reminds you of them once so you can feel bad that you killed them. Its a completely unstructured mess that deserves all the hate and it did not understand why the first game resonated with so many people. I still think of the characters from the first game from time to time, the second, I care not one bit what kind of people they were, they die fast and the characters just move on.… Expand

It was about the awesome cast of people they meet along the way like Tess, Henry and Sam etc. It was about the masterfully wrote storyline that tied everything in together and made everyone really pull for Joel and Ellie to make it through ok.

    So what does ND do? they fire their amazing story writer (who is a female actual feminist), deceive the masses by lying about Ellie being the main playable character (however it is actually abby in this game). They then proceed to kill off joel in a horrible and stupid way in the first few hours of the game. and then have ellie lose basically everything and gain nothing for 0 reason. She gets her fingers bit off by Abby so she can't play t he guitar anymore so that commercial was also a lie. Avoid this game at all cost.    … Expand

    calificar de malo el juego porque mezcla elementos politicos es estupido, me imagino que esta gente odia igualmente sagas como call of duty o Tom Clancy's solo por citar algunas porque es que hay muchas mas donde los elementos politicos son tan visibles que raya en lo ridiculo, incluso juegos que debo reconocer que me gustaron bastante, dicho esto no quita que el juego tenga elementoscalificar de malo el juego porque mezcla elementos politicos es estupido, me imagino que esta gente odia igualmente sagas como call of duty o Tom Clancy's solo por citar algunas porque es que hay muchas mas donde los elementos politicos son tan visibles que raya en lo ridiculo, incluso juegos que debo reconocer que me gustaron bastante, dicho esto no quita que el juego tenga elementos desfavorables, graficamente es un 9/10, jugabilidad es un 9/10, pero historia si digo que es un punto debil si el juego no fuera una continuacion igual le daria un 9 pero no es asi, sigue la historia dejada en la primera parte donde simpatizamos con 2 personajes carismaticos que hicieron cosas no muy eticas que digamos sobre todo joel pero igual asi simpatizamos, en esta entrega no me cuadra que tengamos que tomar parte de otras historias de otros personajes distintos a ellos e intentan darnos a entender su punto de vista, porque si bien es cierto aca no hay heroes y villanos, buenos y malos vuelvo a decir que se supone que the last of us es la historia de elli y joel o por lo menos es como la mayoria lo interpretamos o bueno como lo intrepreto yo, no me llena caminar con otro personaje despues de que cometio un acto que para nada me ha agradado sobre todo cuando ese personaje al que le cometio ese acto era para mi muy significativo, es por eso que en cuanto a apartado de historia le doy un 6/10.. y en cuanto a juego en general le daria un 7/10… Expand

    I truly loved the feel of playing this game(all the love to the grunts of Naughty Dog). But I did not love the world I was trapped in.

    I maybe emotional, but I know this game isnt more than a 6/10. Again, I truly love the passion that the core of ND puts into these games and it shows. But what also reveals itself is maybe some leadership issues. This comes from a passionate fan of ND.

Is it better to fund 10 mils in the game and have a revenue of 5k, or fund 25 mils and have a revenue of 100 mils?     It encourages you to hate with strong motivation but fails to address the hatred with any reasonable attempt. In the game, I'm not gonna forgive the person who killed my father. Outside the game, I'm not gonna forgive the writer who ruined my little precious memory of an apocalypse world that resembles the reality.

    This game is like an open wound that just wont seal up because the player is forced to unnaturally shove all sorts of objects in said wound in hopes that the bloody hole will magically repurpose itself into something that will never physically be possible. It's awful, wrong, embarrassing and frankly, disgusting.

    Firstly, the story is too stretched out and insanely boring at sometimes. Turning into a walking simulator for hours upon end.
    And secondly, you are forced to play as one of the most hated characters I think I've ever seen in any game ever released.

    The ending, in my personal opinion, wasn't really that bad. By the time you reach the fight with Abby, the game has drained you as a player so much, and the characters have gone through so much, that NOT killing Abby feels more conclusive than actually killing her.
    And at the very end, when you can't play the guitar and you walk away, it feels like a sad ending done pretty well.

    But throughout the entirety of the middle of the game, the general gameplay and story is just so boring, stretched out, filled with loopholes and absolutely stupid character decisions that I had a hard time finishing the game. I often stopped for breaks just to chat to family or friends because the game was so morally and emotionally and mentally draining.

    Overall, there really isn't much to love or talk about in this game. It's just a sad story that pushed the sadness to the forefront and left no room for good writing.

    Insanely good graphics though. Gameplay was somewhat flat but pretty decent. Accessibility options were a huge plus. There are so many options to help out any type of gamer.

    The gameplay hasnt really improved since the first game, which was a big put off for me. Although it would have been fine if the story was strong - which it isnt. For me the story just wasnt anything special, it was just a mediocre revenge story which really did nothing new.

    The Last of Us Part 2 is a dumpster fire compared to it's predecessor.

    - Unceremoniously killed off Joel.

    - Dumping a truckload of backstory on Abby and forcing me to play as her doesn't make me feel sorry for her, or forgive her for what she did.

    - Ellie goes on a revenge mission, killing 100+ people on the way to get Abby. Then, out of nowhere, at the absolute last second, she decides, "Actually, killing is bad". And LETS HER GO. Seriously? That's what you came up with? Some pseudo philosophical message about how "Revenge is bad" Yet Abby can get hers and go on her merry way?

    - So much needless violence and edgyness, At times, it's like watching an 15 year old's murder fantasy. I get it, you want to be raw and emotional, but normal people don't act like this.

    On the side note, it's very suspecious how this game got 9/10s and 10/10s by big gaming reviewers, despite universal backlash the day of it's release. How did this garbage get 95 and a "Must Play" award from Metacritic?

But, my god. The last of us 2 ruined it. The story is an epic fail. The graphics are good, the mechanichs are there. But, the story is just horrible. Season 8 of game of thrones is like the godfather compare to this. Joel dies in the first hour of the game (in a really patetic way) Abby, the real main protagonist of the game, killed him with a golf club. Joel, the guy who used to be like a terminator in the first part, goes to an obvious ambush and did nothing. Lame. That was just cheap. After that i really didnt want to play with Abby. Her face is strange also, something is wrong with her design ( she looks like a male bodybuilder) And, in the end, Elie forgives Abby ( after losing two fingers in a Quick time event fight!) I don´t have problems with gay, trans and lesbian comunnity. It has nothing to do with it. This game is just bad. Don`t buy it. Stick with the first part.… Expand

The story was fantastic, but there were problems.First problem wasnt HOW Joels death was executed, it was way too early.I have a explanation why they trusted them, simply because they didnt know they were there.They saved Abby, Tommy said their names, which is logical, she was alone and they thought she was scared, so she knew that was the Joel that killed her father, said that her friends are in a cabin north from there.I mean, they had no choice, either go with her or get infected there.Second problem was the Seraphites and WLF.Fireflies were a much better written and explained organisation.Lets see, at the beginning of the first TLOU, Sarah died and then the intro sequence rolls up.The guy on the radio or whatever talks something about Los Angeles being the latest city placed under martial law, then they mention the execution of six more alleged Fireflies.They we can hear Marlene or someone else talking about looking for the light and believing in them, the Fireflies.We questioned ourselves who are they...Throghout the game we didnt meet them much, but they well better explained.Marlene, ending, beginning, iconic firefly logo.Then the DLC happened.Then we look in Seraphites, they were beatifully presented in the 2017 trailer, while they were hanging Abby, but throghout the game we only shoot with them and find a few artifacts and then we see their village.Not really much, but still not very bad.WLF on the other hand, we can read a lot of letter from or to Isaac, but we only see him twice.We see they are a big organisation, but they dont really have a goal.They want to have that territory for themselves and thats it.Fireflies wanted that too, but they wanted to make the cure, even tho it was not really possible.Both are terrorist organisations.I dont see WLF or Seraphites as a bad writing, only i see a little more potential.I really liked the ending, i didnt even want to kill Abby, i hated her guts in the beginning, and at the middle of the game, but i went in the game with a neutral opinion, as i saw all the leaks a month before.I still hated her friends, only not Owen.He didnt even want to kill Joel, and he was the reason Tommy and Ellie didnt get killed at the beginning.There were some good moments just like in TLOU1, Ellie playing the guitar to Dina, before the ending at the farm, the beginning while they smoke weed and a few others, i cant remember at the moment.As of SJW or LGBT agenda, i honestly didnt saw it much.Isaac was a black guy, but he wanted to kill Lev, a child, so clearly an indication there isnt much SJW in that matter, women died in the game, males died.Only LGBT agenda i can see is the Lev thing, and it wasnt really pressured and shoved down our throats.The other is Dina and Ellie, but it also wasnt shoved down our throats, they kissed twice in the game and thats it.As for the ending, its iconic.Abby is a reflection of Ellie, both are blinded by revenge.Joel killed her father (with a good reason in my opinion, but thats up to the player, if the vaccine really worked then it wasnt, its a matter of opinion), Abby tracked down Joel in 4 years time, and killed him, by luck, he still saved her life, but she was blinded by revenge.Ellie saw her father figure die, so she went on revenge, killed all her friends, and Tommy killed Manny, but still, they didnt felt different, it didnt bring back Joel.At the end, Ellie finds Abby helpless and cuts her down.Abby doesnt try to fight, she cuts Lev down.She brings Lev to the boat, everyone around them is empty, only water as a representation of void, they have nothing to fight for, both have lost almost everything.In Uncharted 4 ending, Rafe and Nate are fighting around the treasure, they found it, but they are not fighting for the treasure, Nate is fighting to save his brother, Rafe is fighting to show that he is better than them.So Ellie starts fighting with Abby, stabs her twice.At the end, she starts drowning her, and she saw Joel in her mind.Most of people are hating this ending, but she didnt spare Abby because she thinks it was right to kill Joel, but she saw herself in Lev and Abby was Joel.If she kills Abby, Lev might come for revenge 10 years later, so she has three choices.1.     Beautiful. Great details. I do not expect lesser given it's reputation as a triple A title. In this day and age, other than WWE 2K, graphcs should be stunning.

    Gameply:
    Moving mechanics remained the same with left/right strafing, right analog to control direction you are heading.
    Crafting is similar.
    Dodging mechanic are welcome but mediocore at best. Just a series of quicktime events
    There's a jump button, but it's basically useless. My grandma can jump better than the in-game charcter.

    One reviewer claimed that it's the "Best Stealth game" of all time. (Laughs in Metal Gear). On the pH scale of 1-14, stealth is 14 cause it's very basic. Many times when I'm behind a cover and an enemy is approaching, I receive the prompt button before he's even close. Ellie pops and jumps a distance to grab the enemy for a stealth kill. This looks completely unrefined to me and is light years away from what other stealth game has achieve.

    Storyline:
    Boy oh boy, what a mess. Politics aside, this game completely subvert your expectations. We understand Joel is not exactly a saint but ND seems determined on schooling us with "cycles of revenge" storyline. It's as cliche as it sounds and everything is done for shock value, edgy for the sake of being edgy.. The first few hours just renders everything the first game built useless. This is just plain unwise given that there's so much emotional attachment to the game charcters. Imagine having Arthur Morgan die in RDR2 and then you play as Micah Bell, how would you feel?

    There's no way to root for the new protagonist at all.

    Metacritic would probably filter out many "0" as review bombs, but if video game journalist can freely give 10/10 as they please, why can't us consumer?    … Expand

A 4th grader could write a better revenge story. You have to play 10 hours as Abby :))) If I am Joel in a brutal world I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to F*** kill whoever gets in my way and wants to hurt my loved ones.     As much as I want to enjoy the game, it's only redeeming qualities are the graphics and some music. The rest of the game is straight trash, especially the story being the worst I have ever seen in any medium. Do not buy it.

    3hrs in and I regret buying the game. Story is absolute **** I don’t even know why it’s called Part 2 when it’s story surrounds new characters we don’t give a **** about.

    what people dont get is we dont dislike the fact that we can have lgbt protagonist or villains what we hate is how bad the story is, the writer just basically tossed everything from the last game into a trash can not worth 60.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
